I've always had the convenience of having my bf to fix my tires when they're flat. He did so but this time it didn't hold, so being this is my first time getting my tire repaired at an actual shop I was nervous 1. about the cost 2. how long it will take 3. end up needing to replace the tire. With that being said i yelped to find the cheapest place to go to with quality service. I came across Mel's first hesitant because of the unknown. So i called as soon as they opened and asked the pricing to get my flat tire patched. My wallet was glad to know that it was only $25 to get the darn thing fixed. Thumbs up to that. They're inexpensive pricing was great but what stood out the most was the customer service. My tire had two holes plugged (by my bf). I only needed one fixed but they fixed both for me and charged me the same low price. Completed disappointed in how the customer service has gone down recently. I understand that there was some construction happening in front of the store and that limited the ability for them to maintain the usual hours and days that they are open. I left repeated messages that went unreturned to schedule buying and replacing my tires. I still haven't received a message back. I needed to replace a tire and eventually the other three. Amazing people! When I needed tires, I called. They guy was so nice he asked me if I had a San Leandro Times. I did. He said there is a $40. coupon in there for new tires. Bring it. How thoughtful! Had my new tires that day. Today I had a nail in one of the tires so went down there. He was on the phone but while he talked on the phone, he looked out the window and keyed in my license plate number. Before he was off the phone he already had a work order printed indicating a needed repair. He called when it was ready. What do you think he charged me? NOTHING! I must say I am really impressed by the Tire shop. I came in the other day needing to buy my daughter two new tires. I found this place on Yelp, and wanted to check it out, simply by it's awesome reviews. This place was so easy to find and I was not disappointed by how great this place really is! I was immediately greeted by a really helpful guy (who I believe was the owner, Mel himself maybe?). He was just so genuine and down to earth, I felt like I could really trust him. Just an all around nice guy. I was quoted that it would take up to 45 minutes for them to put on the new tires I purchased but it ended up only taking 25. Wow! On 9/1/16 when I took my car in for new front tires, I was told by the female owner and one of the dishonest technicians, I needed new rear tires due to cracks on side of tires with approximately 80% tread left. Went in on an appointment on 9/17/16 and was told by the honest technician new tires were not needed. The cracks on side of tire were just from the sun. Dishonesty is totally not okay. Good place for tires when critically needed, but trust from the owners are not. Unfortunately, dishonesty with auto shops period are prevalent. read more

Turned the ignition in my car, and it immediately started beeping at me. It was the tire pressure monitoring system, telling me I had a flat tire. I found a giant nail stuck in the tire, but it was wedged in straight so I figured I could get it patched instead of replaced. Being late for work, I drove to a place to get a quick air up and drove to the office to get set up before going out again. Needed to find a place to get a patch, and found Mel's on Yelp. Very fast service but very efficient. Honest worker, told my husband that the parking brakes needs to be tightened. Even checked our spare tire and found out it was FLAT and he filled it up.
