I've always had a good experience here. The reps are friendly and have been pretty helpful guiding me towards tires that don't break the bank yet provide the right ride for the car, e.g., for a Prius whose standard tires are incredibly pricey. I always wonder why people torture themselves by going to Costco and hanging out for an entire day for tires. Those are no cheaper than the ones here and you get a lot more help here, plus a waiting room! read more

This is the place to go for tires. I've been using them for twenty years. Their service and dedication to their customers is fabulous. Made the mistake of going to another shop recently and spent three hours waiting to get a pair of tires that don't come close to what I could have gotten at Mel's. The lady who answered my call was very unprofessional. I was only calling for an estimate. She had me on hold for over 30 min and the whole time I heard her helping other customers. When she finally got to me, she was rushing to get off the phone. She was talking to another customers while I was on the phone, telling her she was going to get her tires right away. Now I understand maybe it was busy there, but she could have had the common courtesy of saying that she would call me back. And she hung up on me when I politely said thank you. read more

I called to all the local shops looking for the best prices on Donlops. They've got most of the local tires beat so I don't know what the other reviewer is talking about. I had my GF get tires there instead of Costco. Mel's was $5 cheaper per tire and way faster at getting them on her car. I had a concern about over tensioning of the bolts and the tech demo the clutched wrench to ease my fears. That my friends is service! :-) read more

Went there about a year ago to get some new tires and they started working on my car as soon as I got there. I just listened to my ipod to kill time in there office, and about an hour to two they were done and my tires are still in good condition given the fact I drive everyday for so many miles! read more

Gave them a call this morning and the lady who answered the phone put me on hold..... By the time I found my way there my phone still on hold and the lady was laughing and chilling and totally forgot about me still on hold. I show her my phone with 15 minutes counting still and all she did """ hahaha, I forgot because too busy"""" really????? Busy doing what????? While you put me on hold I thought you have other customer in other phone line but you just chilling and gossip with other customer in the office who is waiting for her car. read more

I called today to make an appointment, and they got me in immediately. I got my tires changed in under an hour, which was fantastic. They gave me quotes and prices over the phone, and also informed me of a a rebate offer. The price was decent (I didn't shop around) and the service was quick and efficient. I didn't think honest people existed anymore. After hitting a hidden curb, I took a decent chunk out of my tire. After making peace with the fact that I had to buy a new tire, I headed to Mel's. After a short inspection, the guy told me I didn't have to buy a new tire, it was only cosmetic. Knowing nothing about tires, I was so thankful for his honesty, it saved me a whole bunch of money. I'm still blown away, I even told him I needed a new tire and he didn't take advantage of me. Next time I need tires, I'm headed straight to Mel's! read more

My experience: EXCELLENT! I was recommended to this shop by a family member that has been going here for years. I was not disappointed. I took my truck in to get two front tires, but was initially looking to get used ones because as anyone with a truck or suv knows, larger tires cost $$$$. They had a pair of used ones, and the amazing thing (especially for a tire shop) was that they did not pressure into buying new at all! Well the used ones were $90 otd, but I was quoted a price for new, good quality tires of $225 otd!! That was $100 cheaper than the cheapest of the chain shops, so I had to get them. Discount Tire, Sears, Wheelworks, Big O all wanted well over $300 for two similarly priced tires, I think Pepboys was the lowest of the chains at around $300. The charges were basic and straightforward. I paid $90 for each tire, $10 each mounting/balancing (other shops easily charge $20), $3 for valve stems, and tax...THAT'S IT!! Price includes free tire rotations, flat-repair, and balancing for life of tire. This was the first time I've bought tires and have only seen 3 line-items on the receipt. Tire, Mounting, Valve-stems. Oh and Tax too. I highly recommend this shop. Another thing that I liked was that when I first went in today in the morning, the person at the counter went over my options with me, but because they were extremely busy and instead of processing my order, and just having me wait for three hours...ahem, chain stores, he told me if I could come back in the early afternoon, and the service would be quicker. He was right, I came back a few hours later and was in and out in 20 minutes. read more

After about 4 years my Corvette needed new tires. I talked to Ulises last Friday at Mel's Tire and decided to buy BF Goodrich tires. They were delivered this morning and expertly installed by Ulises and Edgar. Before putting the wheels back on the car they thoroughly cleaned them (including the glue from the previous weights) and cleaned the tires. I am once again completely satisfied with Mel's Tire, I will be their faithful customer forever! read more

Brian the owner was amazing. I received a quote two days prior for some Nexen tires. They were extremely competitive and even beat out some major on line retailers. They ordered them for me, had them in a couple of days. I called them, confirmed that the tires were in, and within a few hrs, they had me back on the road. I can't thank Brian enough for the excellent pricing, service. Brian even allowed me to use a $40.00 discount coupon from the local SL paper. He really took the time to do the job right and although he had problems on my Z, due to the improper way my TPS was installed on my custom rims, he handled the job perfectly and explained everything to me. Fast, good, and courteous service, plus fair prices

I have purchased 3 sets of tires from Brian. 1 set each for my truck, my wifes mercedes, and for my boat trailer. Not long (about 100 miles) after I bought the boat trailer tires I got a flat on one while driving to a lake. When I came home from that trip I took the tire back to Brian for a replacement. He wanted to sell me another new tire at a pro-rated price, (which I think is the normal thing tire shops try to do now days) but I wasn't havin it. I reminded Brian that in the very recent past I had just bought 3 sets of tires from him, and that if he wanted to KEEP me as a customer he would replace this tire for free. (about $20. - $25.) Reluctantly he said he would, but he also said he knew I wasn't going to come back anyway. I know he wasn't happy, but still I thanked him on my way out. I don't understand why he didn't think I would come back. He did exactly what I wanted him to do... HE TOOK CARE OF HIS CUSTOMER. As long as Brian is willing to stand behind his work and his products this will be the ONLY place I'll buy tires. I beleive Brian is an honest business man with good (if not the BEST) prices. He is very knowlegable, puts forth a good effort to see to it that you are happy as his cutomer, and is just an easy guy to do business with. Oh and by the way... by reading some of the other reviews I know your reading this BRIAN. Don't worry, I was very happy about the replacement tire, and I WILL be comming back. Probably in about 6 or 8 months for some 10 ply's. I gave this shop 5 stars because I think they deserve them, and I do recomend them to all. read more
