Terrible service and run inefficiently because of the manager. Waited 30 minutes from getting on the line to finally getting my one sandwich. Twice the manager/cashier stopped taking orders to help the two other backed up staff, which is perfectly fine, but the manager/cashier did it until there were zero orders remaining on the order screen meaning the staff had nothing to do while the manager went and started taking orders. Completely inappropriate. And then after taking my order and waiting some more, the manager/cashier and another staff got into an argument in which the manager/cashier and staff kept going in and out of the back room and leaving the third staff person to make sandwiches, but no one to bag food. Finally the two returned, but the manager/staff kept egging on the other staff until the staff person explained to her what was wrong, and then the manager/cashier completely stormed off to the adjacent restaurant. The other staff was going to storm off too, but I begged her to please get me my sandwich which clearly had my name on it, and she graciously did so. I don't blame the staff member at all for this mess, but the manager/cashier person did not know how to manage her shop efficiently, nor did she know how to help her staff properly to deal with the massive burden. IVE NEVER BEEN MORE DISGUSTED IN MY LIFE. They were SO nasty to my sister and I. They changed their whole menu, so as a vegetarian, I could only get the beyond burger. Cashier was lazy and rude. first time at the melt shop, decided to try the new vegan sandwich and their tots. the tots were great but there was a piece of wavy hair on the patty. i knew it couldn't have been mine or my girlfriend's because we have straight hair. so we went back and showed the cashier the hair. she saw it and took the sandwich to the back without any apology or explanation. 5 minutes later, they remade the sandwich and we were told to check if there's hair. still then, no apology was made and one of the girls rolled their eyes at us. needless to say, our first and probably last experience at the melt shop was poor. read more

The customer service was awful, even for a food court. The food is okay, but the portions are small. They're not worth the price considering how "just okay" the burgers and fries are. This isnt the first time I have tried Melt shop, but this particular time was a bit disappointing. Not only was the line super long (which is expected for woodbury) but the cashier was a bit slow and had asked me to repeat everything i had ordered as he didn't seem to be focused on placing the order. We ordered the fried chicken sandwich and loaded tots and Oreo milk shack. The milk shack was great, very tasty , The loaded tots had TOO MUCH cheese and they made it before the sandwich was made so it sat out on the tray for a bit while they waited for the sandwich to be made. This made them soggy. The cheese is way overwhelming ... I would not order this again. The fried chicken sandwich was so hard! The bread seemed over crispy-toasted and the chicken was the same.... It was so hard to the point of scratching the roof and gums in my mouth! The service is SLOWWW and the quality isn't as good as it is, say, in the city melt shops. When I return to woodbury i will be sure to avoid returning to this spot. Also these 3 items cost me a little over $20.... not worth it. read more

Your customer service for the Melt Shop in the Woodbury Commons (Central Valley, NY) needs a lot of work! The first visit at the outlet mall's foodcourt was terrible. It took a whole 20 mins for the food to be prepared. The second visit for today made at exactly 4:19 pm on 9/17/2017 was HORRENDOUS! We ordered one fried chicken sandwich and one loaded tots. Once it was 4:40 pm while we sat at our table with not our buzzard buzzing and 5 customers getting their food who was after us; we headed to the cashier just to find out that our order was not posted on the computer for them to make it. Better yet, there was about 6 workers arguing on who was going to clean and not working on the food! They took our receipt and buzzard and handed us our food within 10 minutes. We basically waited forever for no reason! It's a good thing we asked if our order was coming, we could've stayed there until closing time! The cashier took our receipt, I wish I had it so I could post the exact register information. What is also hilarious is that the worker apologized for the wait since it's busy. My favorite food is sandwiches, so I had to try out Melt Shop and I wasn't disappointed! The line went by fast and I was tended by a lovely red head by the name of Jennifer with a great smile, I intended only to get a chicken sandwich but she suggested tots and a milkshake so I thought why not? The Oreo shake was great! I'm not really a milkshake person but this will be something that keeps me coming back! My sandwhich was well made! Best chicken sandwhich I've had in awhile actually, was tempted to order another...but I was full after the tots! ( which were great too! ) I would like to thank the crew of Melt Shop and Jennifer specifically for making my food and experience so great, I will deffinently make a return! read more

I ordered burger(patty)-melt which was OK, but the kitchen crew's awareness of hygiene seems to have hit the bottom. They talked constantly in a loud voice over the food as they prepared it. It's just beyond me how any customer hasn't brought it up yet, or the manager hasn't noticed this. It wasn't even work-related (even if it were, they shouldn't speak over the food), but just a loud chit chat while they could possibly spew their saliva all over the food the customers ordered. I just lost my appetite right there and then. The management should do something about it immediately. read more

Best to come on off days when the line will be short, because Woodbury Commons can get very crowded. Will definitely be back again! I work in the Woodbury commons where this disgrace of a "restaurant" is located. I was on my half hour break and decided to go here. I was the only one in line and there were two male workers. One of them was mopping the floor and the other took my order. He talked to his coworker and was cursing so loudly to the point where I was getting agitated. He waited about 5 minutes until he actually put on the sanitary gloves to start making my sandwich which was ridiculous since I was the only one in line. He then TOUCHED THE INSIDE OF THE GARBAGE WITH THE GLOVES ON THEN MAKES MY FOOD. I have never been more disgusted in my lifetime. I was starving and had no time or money to get something different from the food court so I just ate it. The food was not bad but I'm surprised I didn't get a disease. It was alright, but not something that I'd come back for or pay another $9 for. This place is Panera esque in their menu items and prices, but I'm sure that you could get something that tastes better at your local Panera. Fantastic ! First time eating here ( K of P Mall ). Perfection. Not overcooked. Not undercooked. Not greasy. Had the muenster/truffle oil/arugula sandwich. Perfect amount of cheese. Arugula was not bitter, and the truffle oil elevated and layered the flavor without being over powering. Prob the best grilled cheese I have ever had and I am 62 and very picky when it comes to grilled cheese ! Even the tots were excellent. Not greasy or too salty.
