I have been going to Mr. Franco for my jewelry, diamond and gold needs for years. He knows this business inside and out. It is a family owned business and you are treated like family. The last time I needed my Rolex repaired recently and Gil sent it directly to Rolex and got it back to me as good as new in short order. The last time I had it repaired in Florida when I was out of state for a few months it took weeks and weeks. I would recommend Mr. Franco and this establishment anytime. read more

Went there for a watch battery-- the owner told me -2- yrs ago to just remind him the charge is $10.00 and that will be the total charged. (he trys to get $15.00 usually.) Wholesale the battery is $5, so charging $10 is fair.. One has to make money. Today though a 30 yr old hispanic was present. Told him of the $10 reminder from the owner. He said, oh, this watch is expensive-- its costs more.. Told him go to Walgreens.. the watch batteries are NOT marked "more expensive watch"-- they are all the same price.. then he said, oh, the cover requires work to get off.. Told him yep-- you have to use the tool to unscrew it-- I worked Fine Jewelery at JCP for years... you actually have to turn the device.. when that did not work he said, oh the owner gets mad at $10-- I'd have to ask him-- he is not here. I asked him if the owner has a phone-- "oh, he is in meetings". So get ready , sadly this place has turned into a used car showroom. read more

Please read this and do yourself a favor and take your fine watches someplace else. I have been doing business with Memorial Fine Watches/Memorial Fine Jewelry for 8 to 10 years. According to the owner Gil he now owns both stores. The past owners or managers that I had dealt with were very professional and customer oriented Gil is new. I went in a few days ago with one of my Rolex watches, was greeted by a very young boy behind the counter without shoes, unprofessional. I spoke to him about replacing the pen that holds the clasp in place, I have done this several times in the past, and getting the scratches buffed out of the face. The owner Gil then intervened and told me that they didn't work on fake Rolex watches. Red flags should have gone up right then. The watch is definitely not a fake it was purchased from Sweeney's Jewelry in the early 70s and has been sent to Rolex for cleaning. I told him he better look again cause it's not a fake. He then said he didn't recognize this model, it's a Sea Dweller. Red flag number 2. I told him I would like to have the pen replaced and the scratches buffed out of the face. I was told that would be $40. Ok for the last 8 or 10 years I have paid $25 and the watch repair guy would do it while I waited, but this guy was a new face and I wanted the watch repaired. He then told me I had to leave it. Red flag number 3. So I did. The next day Gil called me back left a message and told me he wasn't sure if the face was Sapphire or plastic, he is supposed to be the owner with 30 years experience, and if it was plastic he would have to send it out and it would be $80 to $125 to do this. Mind you the last watch repairman used to put a pen in and buff the face while I waited, maybe 20 minutes. I went in several time and just had the face buffed at no charge. So I called him back and told him to just put the pen in and I would pick it up. Well before I could get there to pick it up I got another call from Gil and this one was like we had never spoken said he had spoken to the owner, Gil had told me in earlier conversations he was the owner, and basically he didn't think they could polish the face because he would have to send it to Rolex. When I got there Gil took $5 off the $40 because he couldn't polish the face, He said they were too backed up. Totally drained and confused I told him just give me the watch and let me get out of here. Go some place else!!! read more
