I've been coming to Men-Bei for a long time, and it's never disappointed. The ramen is consistently delicious--especially the house special spicy, which I highly recommend. You can never go wrong pairing it with a side of gyozas either! The service is always top-notch. The owners are incredibly welcoming and truly great people, which makes every visit feel personal. The ambiance is cozy--it's a small spot, but that just adds to its charm and makes it feel like home. If you're craving authentic, flavorful ramen with a warm, friendly vibe, Men-Bei is the place to go!

If you're looking for Japanese food and you want good portions, Men-Bei Ramen is the place to go. I ordered an Omelette rice which is basically fried rice wrapped in a scrambled egg, and I am not kidding that this dish was about the size of my head. The ramen that my friend ordered was also large. The service was fast and responsive, and the ambiance was a clean and simple.

Stopped by on a Sunday for lunch. We were seated immediately as it wasn't busy. Service was quick and friendly. Cute little space with some tables and a bar seating area. We ordered the gyoza, Omurice, and Men-Bei ramen. Portions were huge considering the price. The Omurice was DELICIOUS. Each grain of rice was perfectly wok fried. The outer layer of egg was so thin and didn't overwhelm the rice. It was literally the size of a football. Easily enough for 2-3 people. The Men-Bei ramen was tasty and the broth wasn't too salty. Super reasonable prices, huge portions, and delicious food. What's not to love? I will definitely be back to try their other dishes.

Fast and friendly service all the time! Ordered two mabo ramen and one moyashi ramen in addition to fried rice. Enjoyed our meal as normal.

I was here a few months ago on my trip to the Bay Area, and I can't believe that I totally forgot to write a review. We stopped by for a late lunch on a weekday (around 2pm), so the restaurant was pretty empty by that time. The workers were super nice, and the service was good. It did not take long for our foods to come out. We had to order the Omurice and the spicy Men-Bei Ramen. To our surprise, the portions were huge, especially the Omurice. I really did not expect the Omurice's portion to be that much (probably enough for 3-4 people), so it totally made it worth the price. The Men-Bei ramen was rich and super flavorful, and all the toppings were really good. The Omurice came with a soup, and it was easily the best Omurice I've ever had. The entire meal was super tasty, and we had a ton of Omurice leftover to bring home. I would totally come back here again next time I'm in the Bay Area and order even more. You really can't go wrong with this place.

I ordered the stamina don and my friend ordered the curry rice. We both agree that this may be some of the best Japanese food we have ever had since coming back from Japan. In addition the service was amazing. If I could give this place more than 5 stars I would.

Men-Bei Ramen - Large (spicy) - okay. Fried Rice - Regular - excellent, lots of wok hei flavor. And the dish was huuuuge!

Disappointed that they stopped serving the hiyashi-chuka ramen. They said no one orders it and they lose money because the ingredients go to waste. Minus 1 star. The spicy Men-Bei ramen was okay. The fried rice, though, was excellent. Lots of wok-hei flavor. And the dish was huuuuge - enough for four people. Service was friendly and the kitchen was quick. Would come back

My mom and I came here to grab a bite to eat. I had been looking forward to finally trying their curry rice, which I had seen photos of here on Yelp, after trying their egg fried rice to go a few times. We had also ordered a side of gyoza. First off, it was my first time being inside the restaurant and it's pretty small and very clean with a capacity of 33 people so keep that in mind when swinging by. I got my plate of curry rice and my mom and I got our side of gyoza that we shared. The wait for our food wasn't too long since it was way past lunch time and there weren't too many customers. The curry rice was amazing! It's definitely up there with Demiya, very flavorful, very filling, had a nice kick to it since I got it regular. The gyoza was very nice with a slight crunch and didn't stick to my teeth like how a lot of places usually make it ( which I don't like ), i also like how the meat in the gyoza outweighed the veggies. The food at Men-Bei is on point, very consistent, hella delicious! 10 stars!

Small restaurant in Costco parking area that serves excellent food including ramen, Omurice and other Japanese-Asian food.

Decent ramen shop. This is a small restaurant. Indoor dining is available with a handful of tables. Clean and cozy inside. Waitress is friendly and courteous. Menu offers a good variety of ramen broth flavors, a few appetizers, and a simple selection of beverages. I like that this place was open on Sunday where some of the other ramen shops I frequently visit are not. There is a parking lot available for this plaza and the restaurant is conveniently located near two major cross streets: Coleman and Brokaw.

What a great little ramen house close to the Costco on Coleman Avenue near the San Jose airport. They have an excellent variety of Ramen and the servings are good size. They also have other Japanese dishes such as Donburi , fried chicken as well as fried rice. It's all very good and the portions are good. The pricing is very reasonable and the service is good. It's a small place with about 10 tables and it does get crowded during the week. Parking is ample and it's easy to get to. I definitely recommend eating here if you're a ramen foodie.

Omurice. The fried rice was *mwah!!

What delivery service do they use? Thinking of ordering from here on Friday, but I can't find it on DD, GH, or Caviar.

I'm certain that they use DoorDash🙆‍♀️

    Do they do take-away?

I used to take out from there when I worked nearby, so I assume they still do. That said, ramen isn't the very best kind of dish to take out.

I got the Kiwami Vegan extra spicy and my friend got the Kiwami Tonkotsu spicy (adding spice costs 50c more) and we received our food after 20 minutes. Kiwami Vegan (5/5): This was delicious! The curry broth and the plant based meat were well seasoned and the yuzu gave the dish a nice citrus kick. I love spicy food and usually feel like ramen is not spicy enough, but this was the perfect level. Noodles were tasty and there was a good noodle to soup ratio. My friend gave the Kiwami Tonkotsu a 4/5 and said it could be a bit more flavorful. She tried some of my Kiwami Vegan and said she would order that next time instead Overall, amazing vegan ramen! He is from Japan, so we can be a bit particular about ramen, but we both really enjoyed Ramen Hajime. I got the spicy miso, and he ordered the shoyu ramen. The broth was the standout for both of us, rich, flavorful, and satisfying without tasting overly heavy. We have tried other popular local ramen spots that just were not for us, but this one was definitely better and felt like it had more depth. The one thing we did not love was the noodle texture. They were much wider and flatter than we expected, almost like fettuccine. Next time, I would ask if we could substitute a thinner, curlier, more traditional squiggly noodle instead. Overall, we both walked out feeling like it was a solid 4 out of 5. We would absolutely come back and give it another try, especially for that broth.

Oh! I am delightfully full! The rich umami broth really sets this place apart from others. What I…read morereally like about this place is that one may customize the menu depending on dietary concerns (vegan, lactose-free, shellfish allergens etc.), but however one customizes, the quality is fort-rate. Our party consisted of family and friends who had differing dietary concerns, but we were each able to eat delicious ramen without any worries. We started out with some appetizers - the Karaage Chicken and the Umami cucumber. The chicken had a nice crunch, yet the meat was juicy and tender! Nice! I appreciate the matcha salt that came with the chicken, as it added a little extra flavor to the chicken. And the umami cucumbers were joyfully crisp, with a slightly sweet soy sauce base, the sesame seeds and the bonito flakes on top adding to the umami. I ordered the Sukiyaki Beef Ramen - something unique, and it is not listed on the colorful poster on the door, nor was it listed on the menu card on the table. It caught my eye, though, when I ordered using the QR code. I felt like this was something on a secret menu or something . . . I was in heaven! The sukiyaki beef was tender and flavorful with that sukiyaki sweetness, and it perfectly balanced the saltiness of the broth. Oh, darn! I forgot to take a photo of the bowl of ramen!! Oops! Well, as I mentioned at the start of this review, I was delightfully full at the end, especially since I just could not leave perfectly delicious broth in the bowl. Good enough to drink as a soup! I must say, however, that when this place first opened, I was not impressed. And when I ate here two years ago, I was equally unimpressed. Today, however, I am blown away! Whatever they changed really is for the better. They have found their footing and Hinodeya Ramen Bar has matured into a wonderful place for ramen.

A nice selection of different options, though I didn't see anything really exotic like black garlic that you see at speciality ramen places. We ordered the umami Brussel sprouts and shishito peppers as appetizers. I really enjoyed both - they were well flavored and I kept wanting to eat more. Some of the shishitos were a little odd colored though - we wondered what was up with that! They could have been grilled/roasted a little longer in some cases to get that edge-of-burnt touch, but we still very much enjoyed them. As far as the ramen itself, it was fine. As an overall meal, it was pleasing enough. Compared to all the ramen places I've been to, it was mid-tier - not disappointing, but lacked the depth of flavor and umami that makes you want to drink all the broth when you know you definitely shouldn't health-wise. The spiciness was pretty mild, I got the low sodium version, so it wasn't salty. I sampled my daughter's regular sodium (same dish) version, and it may have been a touch saltier, but the lack of flavor depth/layers wasn't just salt thing. It's like the best ramen chefs know how to create an amazing broth to die for, and most places just kind of have a typical flavor that seems to lack the magic of the best broths. So overall, a good experience, but not my go-to ramen place based on my first dining experience here.
