Been going here for years at this location and have always loved it . Tonight was such a different experience it was so dirty and gross. All of the labels for the froyo were hanging off and covered in condensation and you could see the mold behind the stickers. There was yogurt dripping all over the floors. The candy was so messy with spoons all over the counter and gummy worms were in the chocolate chips. I tried to use the Hershey shell and it was completely empty , and when my husband used the caramel, chocolate fudge came out ! There were flies everywhere and other customers were complaining about it . We stood at the counter for a few minutes with no one coming to ring us up . After paying over $20 for two froyos we got back to our car only to find out our froyo was completely OFF. It tasted like spoiled milk and we both immediately threw it away outside . It was disgusting. And the place was disgusting. Seemed like a major health hazard . Maybe they got new owners??maybe the person working there hates it?? It's never been this bad before . read more

I first had my froyo in the malls at South Center. I think this place was okay. Their flavors aren't that great to me, and I can find cheapter froyo at the mall or at Yogurtland. I think i've had better. It's convenient though, but during busy hours, it gets loud and crazy. Good service, fresh froyo, and great toppings. read more

Honestly, I wasn't all that impressed. Maybe it's because I'm not a huge desert person. Maybe it was the haphazard and unclear way things work there. Maybe it was the sticky-fingered, sticky-faced rug-rats running around in a glass-eyed, cloudy-brained, pre-diabetic sugar-rush (to be fair... the parent's fault... not the owner/proprietor's). Most likely, it was all those Sundays my parents took me and my sister to Ponderosa, where we'd load up on chocolate/vanilla soft-serve, that pretty much ruined the whole soft-serve ice-cream experience for me. Who knows? Anyways, if you DO like soft-serve, this is a crazy place for you. They've got over a dozen choices for soft-serve, and each pair can be 'twisted'. Then their topping selection is insane as well. If it's got sugar in it, I'm sure they'll have it available. I'd probably have enjoyed the experience if they had done like what Mongolian Barbeque does, and have mixing/combinations posted for those who may be a little overwhelmed by their selection. And really, who wouldn't be a little taken aback when you see "sour gummy bears" next to peanuts, and nerds as possible ice-cream toppers. Ugh. My pancreas hurts just thinking about all that sugar. Yum for self-serve froyo! I'm going to be honest and say I prefer Yogurtland over Menchie's and here's why... - too many "sweet" flavors and not enough fruity & tart flavors - there is too much open space which leads people to hover or go back and forth causing a crazy traffic jam - their mochi balls are blechh... not chewy enough and overly sweet - more expensive @ .43/oz but I did like that they had, - they had a waffle cone option that I didn't opt for - good fruit selection - open space that opened onto the sidewalk as well - containers for the toppings that kept the area clean Yogurtland all the way. But I guess Lynnwood is getting a Menchies soon.. so maybe I'll learn to love it. read more

I usually never leave negative reviews, but I was really shocked at the condition of this store. The staff was wonderful, this review is not a reflection on them. This store was dirty. The floors and walls were covered in yogurt, dirty, and food crumbs. The topping were kept in little cups which I think is a good Covid solution, but they were all stale and gross. The yogurt was watery and gross. The store and food were disgusting, please keep the food fresh and hire a company to do a deep clean of the store. read more

I love Menchie's but this specific location is the worst. Their customer service sucks anf the place is very dirty like litterally very dirty. I would suggest the front person to take less time on his phone and be considerate with the store which will help. Not all flavors are available, I come here only to get the original flavor and it was out. Why did it take so long for Seattle to get a self-serve frozen yogurt place? Anyway, the setup is intuitive and really fun. First, you get your cup (they're pretty big) or you have the option of getting a freshly-made waffle cup (they actually have a waffle-press and make them on-demand). Then, you proceed to the yogurt bar where they offer about 8 tart/fruit flavors and 8 other flavors like Red Velvet, Chocolate, Cookies and Cream and things like that. The best part of Menchie's has to be the topping bar where they have fresh fruit (depending on the time of day/season) hot fudge, marshmallow topping, caramel, girl-scout cookies and pretty much every dessert topping you can think of. My favorite part of the Menchie's experience is the ability to get exactly what you want and pay based on the price. If you only want a snack, you'll only end up paying like $2 for a decent-sized snack. If you're like me though, and you enjoy living with no regard for calories, then you can build monstrosities. The biggest piece of advice I can offer is to layer your froyo and toppings. For example, start with a layer of reese's and caramel syrup, add a layer of yogurt, then add another layer of oreo's and fudge, Then add a different yogurt flavor. Seriously, if you like ice cream or frozen yogurt, this is the BEST place in Seattle. Forget Red Mango and Cefiore where you end up paying $8 for a 3-oz serving and 2 paltry toppings. read more

But unfortunately, I've come to realize that their flavor offerings are way to artificial for my taste buds. Their monthly special right now is Chocolate Covered Banana - and it tastes like little kids medicine. I'm literally displaying my yuck face as I type this thinking about this flavor. I don't know how they can call their peanut butter flavor peanut butter, but that is not what I tasted when I came here. They had a cupcake flavor I sampled in store was not bad in the baby tasting cup, but after I got it home, I was nearly gagging on its sweetness. So if you do come, I would recommend the traditional flavors that aren't heavily loaded with flavors - that is what the mix ins are for! So stick with vanilla, chocolate, etc. Points for a $5 off your creation on your birthday. Points for a wide selection and samples. In my opinion, Zoe Yogurt in Greenlake's flavors are much tastier and less artificial tasting but parking is a bitch there. read more

The only reason Yogurtland holds my heart a little tighter is because they've got my two favourite flavours "on-tap" every day (artificial pistachio and artificial taro. yes i recognize real taro and pistachio taste nothing like their westernized-froYo counterparts, but I still love it). I believe Menchie's is also about 11 cents more expensive per ounce than Yogurtland, and honestly I can't discern a quality/taste difference to justify said inflation. They do get points for being open late in sleepy Queen Anne and having 3 different cup-art designs though. So if you're floating around the area and happen to feel like treating yourself, I would definitely stop on by, I mean it beats the dessert counter across the street at Safeway, right? read more

I love Fro Yo! I've heard so many times from my Yelp friends. I finally had a chance to try in a warm sunny summer day! :-) This is one of those self-serve place. You pick your cup, mix your fro yo, put your toppings, weigh, and pay. I love it! At first, I thought it was located in Lower Queen Ann because I was told that the parking shouldn't be an issue since there a Safeway near by. However, I didn't realize there's a Safeway in Upper Queen Anne as well. And, the Menchie's is just across street from Safeway in Upper Queen Ann. Obviously, the parking is not an issue. There are about 10 different flavors of fro yo and at least 20-30 different toppings. For me, it's too many options because majority of the time, I get plain fro yo and top with nuts, coconut flakes, and strawberries. It's 45 cents per oz plus tax. I love fro yo so much. I barely remember how much total I am paying. And, don't even try to remember because the delicious fro yo is more important :-) read more

My first experience at a self-serve yogurt place left me wanting... more sprinkles. I don't know if you've ever had the opportunity to shove a big heaping helping of rainbow sprinkles in your mouth, but it's delicious, and unquestionably masculine, so shut up. I realized only after leaving that because they weigh the total order, I could skip out on the frozen yogurt altogether and simply pile sprinkles into the cup. Maybe I'd put a glob of frozen yogurt on top of the bed of sprinkles so it doesn't look like I'm just jacking all of their rainbow topping, but in the end it would be me, a spoon, and about $20 worth of sprinkles, all for about 4 bucks. Sprinkles are expensive. But since I didn't do that yet I did get two flavors that I have since forgotten since it was about two weeks ago. But they were good. Go ahead and get those two flavors I forgot and you'll definitely enjoy it. The place was kind of a mess since frozen yogurt leaks and no one was cleaning it. The tables were sticky and the toppings were sort of mixed together, presumably because most people that eat frozen yogurt are too impatient to just use the spoon provided. This is hard for me to write - b/c I seriously love Menchie's and have been a very vocal fan. But I was here on Thursday night (around 8:30pm) and it was a total zoo. I understand that it's busy all the time...but I'm talking messy and chaotic. There were spills on the floors, the froyo machine area was dirty, and the topping area was a total mess. Plus, some of the toppings (i.e. fudge) were totally out. It was so busy that there weren't enough employees to tackle the clean up and refilling of toppings. But that really altered my experience. Instead of being able to sample a few of the flavors at my leisure...I was rushed and had to dodge in between customers in line to try and get at some of the flavors I wanted. BTW - Butterfinger is totally spot on to a real Butterfinger candy bar! I do like that they have now initiated a card-based/phone number-based "punch" card system. I definitely registered mine online to get a bonus 25 smiles (aka 'punches') and if I go w/in next 7 days, I'll get an extra 10. At 50, you get $5 off your Menchie's purchase. So, needless to say, I'll go again - b/c I do like the flavors and toppings. But I'm hoping they can start getting into a better system to manage the major rushes but also keep the store clean. But that may be because he is afraid of me when I don't get my peanut butter frozen yogurt. They don't update their facebook page that often, so on Tuesday and Thursday it said they had peanut butter. I went in on Friday.... no peanut butter. WTF Menchies! I overheard other people complain about the same thing. Maybe they should do a poll to find out the most popular flavors that they should have every day. And I will just make multiple identities so I can vote 50 million times myself, and threaten all my friends and family to do the same, even if they don't live here. Don't get me wrong, the Mounds(chocolate and coconut) was good. But since it wasn't the peanut butter that I had been dreaming about for a month, it wasn't the same. I love fro-yo; especially self serve fro-yo, but Menchie's is just not it. The time I went, it was a mess inside. I really would have overlooked this if the yogurt was good, but it tasted way off to me. I was so happy to see a non-dairy option, but it just tasted like medicine. The other flavors like tart and strawberry that I tried tasted off as well. Another thing that I was not excited about were the toppings. While they were well labeled and organized, they were not looking appetizing at all. The strawberries looked like they had dirt on them. I'm all for organic, but hold the dirt please! Menchies oh how I wish I never found you! I used to go this frozen yogurt place in Boston and get heath swirled frozen yogurt, we would get it to go and eat it for days..........but I always wished they had one here. Guess what they do now! So if you have the fro yo munchies go for Menchies. Some of the flavors I have tried are cupcake, vanilla, mocha, taro, Hawaiian treat, red velvet (still not a cupcake though). You can also swirl them or mix them up and create your own. This is a very popular place at night so be prepared to take your yogurt to go and definitely get a punch card because you will be back. The people who work there are very nice about explaining the process to you and allow you to sample as many flavors as you like. The topping bar has everything you could think of from sour worms, to gummy bears, granola, nuts, heath pieces, m&m's, white chocolate chips, pieces of cheesecake, yes I did say pieces of cheesecake, cookie dough & sprinkles. Don't worry there is also a huge sample of fruits to choose from after all this is supposed to be healthier than ice cream so you can opt for strawberries, pineapple, blueberries. They thought of it all and even the syrups too. So while the frozen yogurt may be nonfat, I dare you to get out of there without cheating a little on your diet! read more

This place is wonderful! They have so many different flavors and they are always changing the flavors around. And tons of different toppings! I like that it is self serve because you get exactly how much you want and as many toppings as you want. Some places really skimp on the toppings. Its pretty basic, all the self serve stations list each flavor and then its yours to dispense however much of a mountain of fro-yo you want. Me: I want peaks of it! I love the broad range of flavors they offer as well and even better is when you hit the toppings bar where you can load up on the sprinkles and marshmallows enough to cause a mini sugar coma. Unfortunately there are some losses here. Having to battle either a mad group of tweens or toddlers is not fun, especially when you've got a full cup of fro-yo going on. The dispensing stations could have been cleaner, instead I ran into numerous sticky leftovers which then fell onto the sticky toddlers. LOVE this place! I had no idea Seattle had a Fro Yo place where you can serve yourself and pay by the ounce. Awesome! 1. Serve yourself. Mix and match flavors (and there are a ton). Lots of soft serve machines embedded into the back wall with a dozen or more flavors. 2. Variety. They apparently change up the flavors everyday. 3. Free samples. Sample as much as you want before you settle on what to actually pay for. 4. LOADS of toppings. Probably 30-40 topping options, from cookie dough bits and kit kat chunks, to nerds and sour worms, to a whole assortment of fruit and nuts and sauces (caramel, chocolate, whipped cream, etc.). 5. Spent the mid-day walking around solo and checking out Queen Anne strip of restaurants and grocery stories. I strolled into a really cool self serve yogurt and toppings similar to Yogurtland. It was not overly crowded and I could take the time to sample all the different flavors they had to offer. After grabbing my cup and picking out 3 flavors, I went to add the toppings. There was prob about 20-30 diff choices all stacked nice and neat with assortment of chocolates, sweets, and fresh fruit. I enjoyed the outdoor seating and local vibe without the crazy crowd and able to enjoy my desert in piece. Will def stop by again if I am in the area. read more

Hooray for self-serve fro yo in the QA neighborhood, hooray for the middle lever that swirls both flavors for you, hooray for the cute spoons and fun reward/point redemption things. BUT, that doesn't outweigh the boo factors of the artificial fruit flavors and the pile up of tweens around the tiny sample cups that creates a huge pile up of customers. If I had to pick, I would go back for the vanilla snow and tart flavors. Everything else I tried tasted too artificial and made me want to rinse my mouth out with water (even the dutch chocolate). Um, HELL YEAH! This was my first foray into the fro-yo craze and I was blown away. It's like a Hello Kitty store, but for frozen yogurt. There was something very cartoonish about this place and I loved it. The add your own toppings bar killed me, just killed me. Bring it on! I love fro-yo. Who doesn't? Menchie's in Queen Anne always has deals -- like them on Facebook to learn more about them. It's affordable, has lots of variety and always is delicious. The later you go, though, the less options there may be (especially for toppings). As a side note, I never understood their smile points. We've been so many times and have acquired so much credit. I was having a romantic daydream about the Ward Center location back in HI. Happy sighs I'm telling you... Smash cut, to stepping inside the shop and my mental record player screeched to a halt. Whoa... wheres the rest of it?? This is the kiosk sized version, cramped, and between the hours of 2~5 is Bieber fever. Outa my way chil'ren!! I was on a mission, so I self-sampled away at the available 6+ choices. I will say, I'm not interested in fro-yo trying to front like soft serve ice cream. If you like decadent flavors like: cake batter, red velvet, dulche de leche, island banana than it's all you. Too sweet for my palette. Thank god the original tart and Dole pineapple were on rotation. Tons of chocolate/candy, cereal toppings. Was surprised to see mochi on the bar! (I mean, it is Queen Anne still). The sliced strawberries were fresh, the kiwi looked good, but the mango was not ripe. Which isn't a crime itself, but was cut up the size of a damn ice cube! As I wait for Yogurtland to open on Capitol Hill (which is closer to home), I've been visiting Menchie's in the meantime. It's a little out of the way for me but when I'm in the area, I try to stop by. I love how it's self serve with a variety of flavors to chose from such as tart, pomegranate tart, cupcake, and new york cheesecake plus much more. Let's not mention the numerous topping options like oreo cookies, coconut flakes, graham cracker crumbs, and a variety of fresh fruits and nuts. There's so much to chose from that it can be a bit overwhelming. Yesterday I went in and got a swirl of cupcake and blackberry as well as the original tart. I topped my yogurt with strawberries, blueberries and blackberries which made for a yummy treat. My husband got some yogurt too and by the time we paid for both of our yogurts it cost around $6.50 which I think is really reasonable. read more

This place is a PMSing girls hell... or a small child's dream...Seriously though, if you are craving sweets you'll probably have to be put on a leash before you go in here. In no way shape or form is this place designed to be "healthy". This is how your journey will go - First you get your giant cup (its huge - and will tempt you to fill it to the brim.) Second, you move on to frozen yogurt heaven. They have a great selection of flavors (my only complaint here would be that I would like to see more tart flavors) and the best part? THE COMBO!!! I'm a devoted fan of the self-serve fro-yo concept, and Menchie's totally delivers on that front. There's a good variety of yogurt options (about 8-10 at a time) and tons of topping options. I always wished that my favorite fro-yo place in CA would let customers get their own samples. Well, Menchie's does that... and now I know why my favorite place doesn't. The self-sampling creates an incredible cluster-you-know-what of irritation. There just isn't enough space for people to be tasting 10 types of yogurt (usually going against the flow of traffic) while other people are filling up their cartons. I went in there on Saturday night and quickly filled with homicidal rage as a bunch of high school/undergrad girls sampled and debated and sampled again... Kill me. That same night, the girl manning the cash register was also apparently some kind of squeaky-voiced, double-arm-waving, manic cartoon character. That interaction did not help the homicidal rage. On the other hand, I went in on a Sunday afternoon and the clientele was families with kids (ironically, much less irritating/underfoot than high school/undergrad girls...) This place was absolute chaos the night I was there and the interior portion was pretty small so it's nice they are able to open the doors and have the cluster of people spill out. They have lots of flavors to choose from and I really appreciate having the sample cups just sitting out for customers to use at their own leisure. The time I was there, they didn't really have many flavors that got me too excited, but I can be easily pleased by the original tart with toppings... so no complaints! Oh and about the toppings... SO MANY! The chocolate raspberry somethings were good and they have cookie dough and cheesecake bites! Also, plenty of fruit and good old mochi. If you join their rewards program you can rack up points for each purchase. $1 spent=1 point and 50 points gets you $5 towards a cup of yogurt. read more

I tried this place one evening with my friend after watching a laser show at Seattle Center and we were craving some dessert so we decided to give this place a try. I had many flavors including the blueberry tart, cookies & cream, and peanut butter. I have to say my favorite was the cupcake flavor. It had a good blend of vanilla and that cakey taste we all love. The cupcake flavor blended with some cookie dough chunks was a really good flavor combo. The toppings station was a little messy and some of the spoons looked like they touched different things which could potentially harm someone with peanut allergies...
