Even when the store is busy, she stays cheerful and positive, making everyone feel welcome. My family is a regular customer here at this Menchie's...until today. Good options for flavors as usual but dry toppings looked and tasted old. We sat in the very back today and the entire room was filthy dirty and dusty. Spider webs on the ceilings and ice cream splattered on the walls. I have been to this Menchie's in Sherman Oaks numerous times and never had the pleasure to write a review. Well, here it goes. I stopped at this Menchie's yesterday around 2:30pm right after doing my grocery shopping at Babushkas deli and as always found this place colorful, refreshing, clean, nice with their great customer service by everyone who works there. They have a kid friendly as well as adult friendly customer service and fun ambiance with cheerful pictures on the walls. Frozen Yogurt & Ice Cream selections that not only you can customize, but plenty of options to choose from. They have an extensive range of probably 45 toppings and over 14 different flavors of ice cream and fro-yo options to choose from. They also have gluten free and dairy free options. I got their chocolate frozen yogurt mixed with fine vanilla and sprinkles on top. DELICIOUS, FRESH, & REFRESHING.Small patio seating area as well as inside seating. Prices vary depending the weight of your purchase. They have a restroom once you go down few steps and street parking. It's always consistent here as all my favorite flavors are always available. Time and time again out of convenience I would go to Yogurtland on Van Nuys Blvd. and either machines are down or their original plain tart is out of stock - it's like running out of fries at McDonald's. It hasn't happened on one or two occasions, it's been several times. Enough of my rant of another business. . . Come here for all your favorite flavors and toppings and service with a smile. Guy there high anxiety and when I didn't want to tip on that machine I bypassed it but it charged me $4 for a tip. When I addressed this that I didn't want a tip on there he argued that machine said I did. I wanted my money back, he whined and was rude and said here I'll take it out of my money and threw $4 back to me. I said why tip? It's a take out and sample cups arnt even used at this Menchie's! A great variety of sugary fro yo. I wish they had a larger variety of no sugar added fro yo. A large selection of toppings but the selection rarely changes. You will be greeted by friendly staff when you arrive. The fire pit in the back room is an added bonus on colder days. read more

WOW Has this place gone down in quality! I used to eat here all the time and loved it. Not anymore. Came in tonight, Everything was fat free/ sugar free.. I came for desert! I wanted desert! And there wasn't ONE flavor that was just regular. I settled on chocolate/vanilla swirl thinking I couldn't go wrong, the vanilla was distrusting. The texture was icy, as if it had freezer burn. Since they don't provide samples anymore I didn't even know I had filled my cup with nasty expired fro yo until it was too late and I would have been an ass hole not to buy it. I shall not be back and it's too bad because as I said, I really used to love this place. *I would have given one star but I made it two because despite the horrible product, the salesgirl was lovely and very empathetic. read more

What makes this Menchie's special is the caring staff. Having visited several times over the past year, I've noticed some of the employees, particularly Madi, go above and beyond. While some are content to let toppings dwindle until they have to be refilled, it seems like every time the store slows down Madi is over topping up the containers, wiping up spills, and maintaining a welcoming environment for customers. We haven't been to the Sherman Oaks Menchies in a few years and just recently went back for a quick treat after dinner. What a disappointment. the store was dirty, sticky floors, yogurt dispensers had yogurt drippings all around the nozales, fruit toppings were sparse and not fresh, and the dry topping counter was covered with loose sprinkles as if no one was cleaning the area. There used to be a variety of flavors, but when we were there the only variety was Dole Whip. All other flavors were a variety of vanilla or chocolate. I used to love this place, but no longer. I came in at about 6pm on a weekday. The surfaces (e.g. tables, floors, and bathroom) were filthy. And there was no one in sight to ring me up. I called out, "hello" several times, until finally two employees appeared. The textures of the flavors I selected were a little off (one was rather icy, and the other was runny). I'm guessing that there's been a change in management. Hopefully they're reading this (and other similar reviews) and will take some action soon. read more

My son and nephew love Menchies so once in a while we go for a treat. I haven't been at this location in a while. I was surprised when the employee said they are out of the tart yogurt (which is our favorite) so we went and got other flavors and sat outside to eat. Five minutes passes and my nephew says look auntie there is tart flavor now, the guy just put the sign up. .....I'm not sure why the employee couldn't say that the tart will be ready in 10 minutes (since I did mention that I'm disappointed that tart has finished) Now that's not good customer service for me. He should have said if you wait a few minutes it will be ready. Then we would chose to wait to get something else. Overall we love Menchie's and will be back again. read more

She was extra friendly and told me not currently, but would be happy to tell me the flavors anytime I call. Bradley was working when I visited today and was extra friendly and helpful as well. It was super slow and quiet when I stopped by after running some errands in Sherman oaks. Thought I'd come in for a quick snack. The ambiance was quite chill (pun intended): I liked that it was slow, lol. My kids love Menchie's, but this one is really gross. The downstairs seating area and bathroom are unacceptable. Chipped paint, sticky floors, no paper towels in the restroom, so after washing hands you have to touch the dripping doorknob that someone else touched. Trash on the tables. I had a disappointing experience at Menchie's today that left a negative impression on me and my family. Upon entering the store, I approached the cashier, a red headed skinny guy with a goatee, and inquired about the availability of little cups to sample different flavors. However, instead of providing a polite response, the cashier became irate and began berating me in front of my young son, stating that the owner no longer allowed customers to sample flavors. To my surprise and dismay, the cashier then stormed off towards the back of the store, visibly upset, while using profanity and yelling. This sudden outburst not only made me uncomfortable but also frightened my three-year-old son. Feeling uneasy and concerned for my child's well-being, we promptly decided to leave the establishment. The lack of professionalism and customer service displayed by this particular cashier was disheartening. It was evident that he was unhappy working at Menchie's, and his negative attitude was clearly visible to customers. As a result, we opted to visit a nearby establishment that prioritized manners and provided a more pleasant experience. I mean it's just frozen yogurt!!!! I hope that Menchie's management takes appropriate action to address this issue and ensure that all customers are treated with respect and courtesy in the future. read more

We've been walking a lot during Covid as not yet comfortable going to the gym and often pass by this Menchie's while heading home. I need dairy free and the chocolate and salted carmel are delicious, and my wife loves the pineapple dole and vanilla, and the idea that free toppings come with the yogurt/sorbet/ice cream makes it even better. My favorites include the Kit Kat and Heath Bar. To top it off Marla, the owner, is just great as are other workers. We were there last night and Marla helped us in many ways to ensure we got what we needed and, as we told her we were meeting another couple, gave us a couple extra spoons, cups and napkins. She couldn't be a better owner and we're so excited it's back open to go in and get our dessert. read more

I used to love this location... and by love, I mean, we ordered 3x week via Postmates. Well, we had a few bad experiences so we ordered less and after this last experience... we're done with this location. After 30+ orders, they became lazier and more disrespectful. The cups are sometimes only half full. Sometimes they don't notify you but send a completely different flavor because the one you order is out. I would prefer cancelling rather than giving me something random that I don't even like. We started downgrading from medium cups to small due to the issues. Welp... those also now come half full. It simply isn't worth it anymore. It bums me out to part ways with them (silly sounding, I know) but we would rather commit to a competitor nearby that values loyal customers. read more

Ah, Menchie's. Great branding. It's a name we know within the FroYo category. It's consistent. It seems stable. But, it's a default place for me when the local "Mom and Pop" is not available or not that good, or when Pinkberry, Silver Spoon, or Penguin's chains go belly up. Sigh, I miss those. The place is kept clean, and machines & topping bar are maintained well from my POV. With a setup of a self-serve that you may be familiar with, it has 12-16 choices of flavors with all your standard toppings, fruits, and syrups. If you've never been here, ask for a sample cup (or cups to seek and destroy each and every flavor until you target your choices or choices), or simply "go for it" and live on the wild side haphazardly filling up a large cup. I am a sucker for tart (and it's very good Pinkberry fans), but all are pretty good when topped with fresh blueberries, strawberries, raspberries, mochi, dried cranberries, and marshmallow topping. Oh yeah! Bottom line, everything had a good flavor, but the consistency is nothing special. Not at all creamy, but still hits the spot each and every time. Locally owned franchise with excellent customer service. Though open ONLY for pick up or order at the door, owner Marla and her staff go above & beyond! They are socially distancing their customers & quick with the order turnaround. If nobody is there when you get there, simply ring the bell! You can either preorder & come pick up? Or order at the door. 3 sizes to choose from, each one comes with 1,2, or 3 toppings (small, medium or larger). They still have as many flavors as during pre-Covid times you just can't top your sweet treat with multiple toppings. There's a handful of parking spaces in the alley behind Menchie's but we've been put off by the security guard. I don't know how many times we've parked at night and not 30 seconds after a random security guard pops out of his seat from the shadows and asks if we're going to Menchie's. I just parked! Sorry for parking where I'm supposed to park! No need to mad dog me over froyo! Apart from that, Menchie's is always a tasty treat. We've yet to be burned by any of the flavors. So happy we found this place as an alternative to the Yogurtland near us, as it's always out of flavors and almost always has melted yogurt. We came after dinner so parking in the back was very easy, but not sure how it looks during the day. They have fewer flavors than Yogurtland but a good variety and all the flavors were frozen in texture and not drippy at all. I got the original tart and pistachio and both were delicious! The yogurt and topping stations were both clean and tidy. I liked that each topping had its own jar and was kept enclosed as opposed to sitting out in the open. I find this a rare thing at yogurt shops, but all the fruit looked fresh and nicely cut, which is definitely a plus! Don't know how many times I've had to pass on fruit completely because of how unappetizing they looked. It's a little bit further from us, but Menchie's will be our go-to place for yogurt from now on. :) read more

I love frozen yogurt. It is a wonderful treat on a hot day. I had been to many locations, but never this one, and I was glad to see this one. It was so clean, had plenty of seating, and the staff was really nice. They were great with my toddler and he was able to have a fun time. They have a variety of different flavors that they change out every month. They have about 12 different choices at once. They have nonfat, gluten-free, no sugar added and dairy-free frozen yogurt. My by far favorite is the cake batter! It is so good with Oreo Cookies on time. They have a variety of different toppings ranging from chocolate, to gummies, to fruit, and syrups to add on top. Ahhh Menchies!!! Especially this Menchies...man, it is very, very much child oriented here. I think the location is very close to schools so it's always flooded with parentals taking their hyperactive kids here to get even more hyped up on sugar!!! During the day at least...just look at their photos if you don't believe me... They have a coloring area in the back, a community bulletin board and seating outside. I do love their yogurt and their toppings. I feel like Menchies is the rich yogurt store! With crazy toppings like chocolate covered strawberries, cool whip, hot syrup, waffle cones cups coated with chocolate and rainbow sprinkles and everything in between!!! I would give this place 5 stars - but would have to come only at night when it's quiet and I can avoid all the kidlings. Plus parking in the back is easier to get at night. Many memories here, overall a good spot! Heck I think Yelp even had a cash back deal here at one point where I got cash back for my purchases. They also have a rewards program that gives you free yogurt once you accumulate the points. I do remember Menchies being a little more higher priced than other chains but I understand why.
