Worst poke bowl I've had in a long time! Stodgy rice, old tuna, lacking sauce, and underwhelming overall presentation.
Sara G.

I'm so disappointed! I've come to this location specifically for months straight because I was confident it was the best location in town- always so friendly, fresh and clean... but suddenly the quality of service, freshness of fish, and overall cleanliness of the restaurant have decreased substantially! The manager had his paperwork sprawled out all over one of the tables, he was yelling across the restaurant at four new hires who were more concerned with their own conversation than the customer in front of them, and the food stations were unkept - everything mixed together and bits and pieces between the separated sections. I usually eat at the location quietly, but I felt the need to say something to the team about how uncomfortable they were making their customers. Instead of owning up to their poor quality of service, they teamed up against me and bullied me out of the restaurant, honestly they should all be fired! They need to get their shit together!! Never going back :(

$27 for this??
Sarah K.

Just paid $27 for the smallest poke bowl I've ever seen. I got salad as the base and they're being stingy on lettuce??? I used to order from here all of the time, but clearly they're gone down hill. Save your money -and order go somewhere else.

5 Star ***** Service "SHOUT OUT" to Christian for helping me put together my first poke bowl at Pokeworks! I was craving sushi for lunch and decided to try this place. When I first walked in...I can't lie, I was intimated looking all the choices...LOL Anyway, I asked about the bowls and how to put one together and Christian explained the setup what to add etc. He even let me taste the spicy tuna which I loved!! Nice change from the usual lunch suspects. I'll be back to try another bowl to see if I can top the deliciousness I just experienced today. Support local and let's keep their place alive and well.

The best poke place in town!

The staff is nice and the food is fresh. The large leaves me really full so the regular should be fine. I always make my own and throw in everything that's not fried. The torch option is nice for people who are scared of raw fish. Poké places have popped up all over town and have come and gone in the last few years, but this is my happiest poké find.

Eh good but not as good as the Yale location. Food tasted fine even though I was a bit reluctant to eat it. I tried not to eat the half part of my bowl where the guys shirt kept sweeping over my food. It grossed me out thinking it's the same shirt he goes to the bathroom with. Yuck touching my food.. when he grabs the toppings or items that's further away he reaches over on a way that his shirt sweeps over part of my bowl and touches the food. I kept staring at his shirt but I don't think he even noticed that it sweeped over and touched the food multiple times:( the drink options here aren't as good as then other location. Their bathroom door is also not fixed and has a sign that says to knock since the lock isn't working properly...

A coworker recommended this place and was excited to try it. When I got there the place was nice and it had a good amount of people which game me hopes. Once I got my food and began to eat it, all the hopes disappeared. The food was bland and very sticky. The rice would clump and soak any flavor the bowl had. I wasn't able to enjoy even half of it with any good bites. It was since to try but probably won't come back

I honestly love all Pokeworks locations. This one has plenty of room, very clean and very bright inside. I always love their options for the poke bowls. I normally get regular size with sushi rice and that comes with 2 meats...it's very filling. They have several sauces to choose from, toppings, and extras. Most are free, except for avocado is extra. Service was good, employees were friendly... Great either option for "fast" food.

Everything we had was flavorful, delicious, and all the meat was moist! I can't wait to come back and I'm sad it took me so long to find this place! Highly recommend!! Service was helpful and friendly. The restaurant felt very clean, spacious, and modern with a lot of natural light. They brought our food out to our table and gave us napkins and utensils, so we didn't have to get up and get them ourselves. Absolutely a great dining experience! The portions are also big! My bf and I each got a Hawaiian Favorite combo and couldn't finish them. The entrees are easily two servings for me, so it's a great value! The containers the food comes in are microwavable too, so extra bonus points for easy reheating! If you do manage to finish an entree in one sitting though, you will be stuffed! It wasn't mentioned on the menu, but there's steamed/sautéed cabbage under the meat. It looked a little deceiving because I thought it was just a huge pile of meat, only to find cabbage under. Thankfully, I love cabbage and appreciated that there were veggies to balance the heaviness of all the meat. That being said, there was still a lot of meat, just not as much as it looked like at first. They also give you little containers of sauce depending on which entree you get, which really enhanced the meal. If you get bbq beef or chicken, you get a delicious, sweet, Hawaiian bbq sauce. If you get the chicken katsu, you get a sauce that resembles sweet and sour. If you get a combo that has both bbq meat and chicken katsu, you get both sauces. I poured the sauce over the rice to season the plain white rice, then poured the rest on the meat even though it didn't really need it. BBQ CHICKEN: Moist, flavorful, and delicious!! Comes in small to large chunks. BBQ BEEF: Moist, flavorful, and delicious!! Comes in thin slices. CHICKEN KATSU: Moist! Fresh, crunchy breading! Tastes better with the sweet and sour-like sauce provided than on its own. KALBI SHORT RIBS: Delicious! Moist! Has fatty bits, unlike the bbq beef, which I really liked! Very similar, if not the same, flavor as the bbq beef. MACARONI SALAD: Delicious and flavorful! Tastes just like potato salad.

To allow a plate to exit your establishment in this CONDITION was unsatisfactory & disappointing. I felt like I got scraps from a trashed kiddie meal, there was no thought given to this. The food was not cooked all the way. Fish was limp. Fish was as small as my thumb. The shrimp were tiny, dry, looked like they'd stayed under lights too long. I mean, the macaroni and rice are pretty simple, you got that in bulk. You can slang that all day. So why didn't anyone take time to AT LEAST make the fish and shrimp shine??? Regardless if the meal is a deal or not, what we receive is a reflection of each person who you touched that plate, WHO SERVED IT AND WHO looked at it, decided it was fine and put it in a bag to be delivered to someone who spent their money for food! Energetically and overall, this was SAD AND unfortunate. I gave my report on Uber already as one star: Maika'i Hawaiian BBQ (10311 North Eldridge) Thank you, Court, for your feedback. I'm truly sorry that your experience didn't meet our standards at Maika'i Hawaiian BBQ (10311 North Eldridge). We strive to provide excellent food and service, and I hope you'll consider giving us another chance to show you that. Please feel free to reach out to discuss this further. Also, don't miss out on our limited-time offer: buy one, get one (BOGO) free! Thank you again for your insights. Why would I reach out to discuss anything further when your establishment dropped the ball? Why would I take advantage of a buy one get one free deal? I won't patronize this establishment again. THAT IS ALL!! DO better.

Their macaroni salad is absolutely creamy and full of flavor. It tastes so authentic that I always get an extra scoop. They have a variety of canned drinks but honestly you have to try the Hawaiian sodas. They have a wide selection but I always get the passionfruit. So delicious and not overly sweet. It's pretty quiet and honestly they should have more dine in business because of how spacious the restaurant is and because of how sweet everyone is. My BMP calamansi margarita was distinct in its tanginess. Tried the veggie lumpias and brussel sprouts. The lumpias had tangy dipping sauce that might have been dominated by calamansi. More tang than savory. The brussel sprouts were standard but had a good portion. I tried to detect whether they used fish sauce but I couldn't tell. Ordered the daing na bangus (milkfish) as my entree. They gave me the whole fish and it threw me off that it was mostly deboned since I kept looking for the bones with my tongue and teeth. Fish was nice and crispy and the dipping sauce was more savory than what came with the lumpias. The garlic rice that came with the dish was smoky from that wok hay. Probably could have used a little more soy sauce for flavouring. My favourite dish was the turon dessert (fried bananas) along with the ube ice cream. The coconut sauce they used seemed more like caramel. I haven't eaten much Filipino food so I wasn't sure how authentic the dishes were. I was expecting a little more intensity in the flavours, and I don't know if it was toned down for their customers. There were around ten customers that night. The inside was beautiful and they have a two level patio that is perfect for nights like these. The service was very nice and the kitchen was faster than I expected.
