The open layout with the open air doors are pretty nice. The menu is displayed on a wide screen that makes knowing the options and menu prices very convenient and easy. Service at the counter was efficient and polite. Food got to our table within 15 minutes. I loved how the ingredients were fresh and the salad greens crunchy. The dressing was on the side and so I could portion control as needed. I came to the South Lake Union Mendocino Farms restaurant for a Yelp Elite experience and while there I bought a drink with my meal. I found street parking nearby and realized I've been in this area of South Lake Union several times last year. Upon entry, I was greeted and helped by the friendly staff and after ordering you scan the QR code at your table and enter your check number and they deliver your purchased items directly to you. The service was great as the counter person was very helpful and there was a hostess type lady that went around and delivered the food when ready and checked up on the customers a couple of times. They did a nice job. For my Homemade beverage, I chose the Get your Greens drink which was similar to the healthy green juices you see at grocery stores. It was sweet and nutritious. Ordered my Peruvian Steak sandwich ($20ish) as I added avocado as well. It took longer to get my sandwich than you'd think for a rather quiet restaurant. Upon opening my sandwich, as you can see, it's pretty messy. The spicy aji amarillo marinade and melted cheese is all over the place. I like how it's added some acid by adding some red onions and tomatoes. Crunchy lettuce adds some texture to the savory and a tad spicy steak. The person who took my order was so lovely. I told them it was my first time and they gave me the run down of the menu + recommendations. I've walked past Mendocino farms a few times now and finally got to order some dinner through DoorDash! It's a fast casual chain that gives off that it's like a combination of Paneria/Sweetgreen but a bit healthier. For my first time here, I ordered the "not so fried chicken" - their popular yet healthy take on a fried chicken sandwich! I was pretty skeptical at first honestly, I wasn't sure how they'd be able to emulate the crunch of a fried chicken without the chicken actually being fried, but this sandwich definitely exceeded my expectations! The crispy bits added wonderful texture to the sandwich, that I completely forgot that I was eating a simple roasted chicken breast! It definitely felt like a lighter, "guilt-free" version of a chicken sandwich. The veggies were crunchy, the chicken was roasted well, and I thought everything paired so well with the Tangy Mustard sauce. I can sing praises about pretty much anything on this menu, which is great for a vegetarian. While the prices are a little high, I honestly think that the flavor and portion size makes up for it. It's nestled right into the heart of SLU, which means its perfect for grabbing a quick, healthy dinner or snack post-work. The shop has been BUSY, so definitely just keep that in mind or try to order ahead. My personal favorite is the Vegan Banh Mi -- SO much flavor packed into a vegan sandwich, I am obsessed. I've been to Mendocino Farms multiple times when I lived in California but my girlfriend was excited to finally have one closer to us. We ordered our food online for pickup. We got the chimichurri steak & bacon ($15.20), sweet heat crispy thai chicken ($13.65), and the avocado & quinoa superfood ensalada ($13.35). The chicken sandwich was tart from the pickled daikon and carrots, and the chicken was air-fried and not deep fried. The two sandwiches were both good but I preferred the steak & bacon more. I liked the meatiness of the steak and the bacon along with the herb aioli. The toasted sesame roll was a lot better at holding up the sandwich than the brioche bun for the chicken sandwich. The sandwiches were on the smaller side so you if you're like me you might need a side along with a sandwich or salad to make you full, but they tasted good. We're glad that we have this location now and can come back to eat their other sandwich offerings. read more

When I heard that Mendocino Farms was opening a new location in South Lake Union, I had to check it out. I had heard lots of good things about it from my friends who lived in California, but I had never actually tried it! I came during dinnertime, when there was only handful of people there so I barely had to wait in line. I ordered a chimichurri steak bacon sandwich with a side of spicy curry couscous. The wait for the food to be delivered was a bit long, but not unbearably so. The sandwich was super delicious, and was packed with loads of sautéed bell peppers (which I absolutely loved) and steak. There was a bit less bacon than I would have wanted, but the sandwich was already fairly packed. The sandwich bun was peppered with sesame seeds on the crust, which added a really nice bit of texture to the bread, and the sauce on the sandwich had a nice balance of creaminess and a bit of spiciness. Overall, a fantastic sandwich. The spiced curry couscous was really good at first, but I quickly got tired of it. While the flavors were rich and robust, at the end of the day the entire thing was just one flavor and one texture. The texture was also a bit mushy, which definitely didn't add anything in the texture department. Overall, the star of my dish was definitely the sauteed bell peppers and sesame seeds on my sandwich which was stellar. I will definitely be coming back here, but maybe for just the sandwiches. read more
