TanTan - pork over ramen noodles
    Dan D.

Had a good lunch at Menya (it has been a while since I've been in the area) the noodles were delicious and the portion generous. The service was fast & friendly at the front end of the lunchtime rush. The vibe is casual; nice, but nothing fancy.

Stopped in today as I had a craving for noodles service was spot on ( I was the only person in the joint) never the less my server was sweet and fast , 2 things I enjoy .. Had a beer and the tempura Noodle dish ( forgot the name) and a tasty Japanese beer

Stopped by for dinner at Menya, got the tonkotsu ramen with extra pork belly. Decent ramen with hot soup that was flavorful. We also ordered the spicy tuna on crispy rice and goyza. The server delivered the food quickly and was friendly. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant allows for many diners to eat in.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place is not too loud when I was there with some friends.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Good place to try when visiting downtown Denver.

Delicious food! The spicy edamame were v spicy! The poke bowl was flavorful and fresh. The staff are patient but not the friendliest. Do note- they are unable to split the check for larger parties.

Overall, this place was good. We wanted to try several of their dishes, to get a better opinion on their selections. The crab croquettes and shrimp tempura was delicious, and very filling. We didn't like the chicken Karage or Tako yaki. The Karage was a bit bland and the Tako yaki had a small piece of squid in it. We though we were going to get a little more than that. The ramen's broth was spicy but I couldn't really taste anything other than that. The meat in the ramen was really good but that's about it. I wished I ordered the tonkatsu instead. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant was very clean but there is a smell to it. It went away on e we got our food but quickly came back when we finished[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The bathrooms are secure and clean.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Our waitress was very nice and helpful. For its location, it's a good spot to drop on by and grab some food. I would've been better for us to grab ola few of their appetizers and snacked on them, while we walked 16th Street Mall.

Oh my goodness! My veggie ramen with fried tofu... no words! Piping hot, healing, refreshing. I walked out of Menya feeling energized & replenished! Just knowing we have cold days ahead, I will be going out of my way to come back for this soup! Many times. Service was wonderful and very tentative! I tend to drink a lot of water & was never left wanting more. For a veggie soup, this was very creamy and felt indulgent for all of my *treat yourself* friends! I ordered a decaf plum tea to go with my hot ramen and it all was just the experience I needed to feel rejuvenated. I'll be back soon! Thanks, Menya!

I ordered their Menya Special, which is their Tonkotsu, and some gyoza. The broth was pretty tasty. I prefer my noodles thicker and on the chewier side, but it was still tasty. Their gyoza is yummy.

Tried this place out for lunch while exploring the area and got their build your own poke bowl with spicy chicken, white rice, cucumber, corn, edamame. Food came out quickly and had good portion sizing, but didn't deliver on the flavor like I had hoped. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It was still decent food like a 3.5/5 with a nice spacious ambiance, but rounded down as there are many better 4 star comparisons for me.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

I love coming here after class because it is a quick walk if I'm ever craving noodles. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It is located on 16th street and because the weather was super nice today me and my friend decided to sit outdoors.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I usually get the udon because it's nice and light and typically hits the spot. It's definitely not my favorite spot to get ramen or noodles but it is definitely good for what it is and the location is super convenient. The servers are always super nice and even though we were one of the only tables outside our server made sure that we were taken care of.

First time in Denver since the early 2000s. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Was pleasantly surprised with the extensive pedestrian zone on 16th Street.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Menya Noodle Bar has a prime location in the heart of the pedestrian zone close to accommodations and local activities. With such competition, they stand out for great service and delicious flavors. My party of three enjoyed the poke bowl and ramen selections. Portions were generous, so bring your appetite.

The service was fine at this casual noodle bar but the food didn't impress us, and particularly the mediocre shrimp tempura didn't have much taste and the pork in the tonkotsu was really chewy (though the broth was rich). [[HIGHLIGHT]]There's lots of tables and the noise level isn't too high...both good.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] So, maybe it was an off night for Menya.

Solid ramen spot they have a good assortment of Japanese offerings not limited to ramen and noodles despite the same. Service was cordial and prompt, food came out really quick, almost felt like they knew what I was going to order. I liked my black garlic ramen but it felt like it could use more spice. My colleague had the standard one and he liked it, said it was the balance of salt and savory was on point. [[HIGHLIGHT]]If you close your eyes and open them in the restaurant just for a second you may just think that you're on the edge of shinjuku.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Very good ramen spot on 16th street mall. Service was good but a bit slow on a busy Friday night. I like that they offer a few vegetarian ramen choices, and their meat/seafood ramen selection is quite expansive. We had the bulgogi bun appetizer and some kimchi to start and both were great! I'd happily return as long as I'm not in a hurry to get in and out.

Uncle is a small, Asian fusion shrine that one should place on your must visit list. In the Northwest area of Denver, Uncle has limited seating and a show if you sit at the bar. Reservations are strongly suggested and well worth the wait. Crazy combinations, flavor bombs throughout and a culinary delight you won't regret. Tonight, we sat at the bar and watched the magic happen. These guys are cranking out amazing and delectable treats you won't forget. The Uncle salad was a great starter with charred cabbage, lemongrass, mint, cilantro, arugula, and peanuts lightly coated in a Thai coconut dressing. A slight burn only leaving you to crave just one more bite, ha! The fried soft shell crab in a bao bun with green papayo slaw, coconut mayo and cilantro nam prik was sweet, perfect crunch and memorable. Two for two with one dish left. The cold spicy sesame noodles with seasoned chicken, granny Smith apple slivers, arugula, cashews and nanami togorashi, a perfect closing dish for an exceptional meal. The service, food quality, flavors and preformance from the bar seats were second to none. The concept, portion size, flavor and cost were a real treat in the big city food scene of Denver. If you haven't been here yet, get to the internet and book a table, I promise you won't regret it. To the staff, chefs, and all members of Uncle, thank you for a surprising and incredibly great meal, we will return on our future trips to Denver.

So we decided to get a hot bowl of ramen to clear ourselves right up. I have to admit while we have had pretty good ramen in Colorado nothing has blown us away. This place did just that. If you are looking for the most authentic bowl of ramen anywhere within a 20-30 Radius of Denver this is your spot. I got the sesame pork belly ramen bowl and my wife the chicken dashi and both were spectacular. I know this sounds like a lot of exaggerating but no notes. Seriously ZERO! This small ramen shop is a hidden little gem in Denver. The service was great, even if our waiter was on his first day and stumbled a bit. He was attentive, eager, and happy to help with a smile on his face. The food was excellent as well, ranging from crispy gyoza and chicken karaage to various ramen dishes. The only downside was the karaage, which was slightly different than what I was used to, but it was still delicious. We left with our stomachs full, smiles on our faces, and a warm goodbye that has turned into a "see you later," as I will definitely be back.

There were many choices and had a hard time choosing what we wanted. I wanted ramen for sure and also wanted some appetizer but opted for a dragon roll. My black garlic tonkotsu ramen was very rich cloudy broth, perfect to warm up, and it was delicious. Just the right amount of noodles and plenty of chatsu to go with.
