Underrated boba shop in the east side of San Jose! My friends and I decided to get some late evening boba before they closed at 7:30 pm. Though arriving at 7:10 pm, the staff were getting to ready to close shop and still took our orders! It's a warm boba shop when you come in with a cozy interior that's cat themed! There's a cute cat mirror and cat wall paining for that aesthetic picture with your boba. They have a daily special of buy 2 drinks get 1 free! Such a good deal. Feels like a place for younger kids so I felt a bit out of place here. There were board games and toys for kids for them to play with. I ordered the Mango Coconut Delight and it was a lot bigger than I expected. The coconut flavor was good and had bits of mango inside. With all of the tea spots in the area, Meow Tea is just ok compared to the competition. Came in on a weekday and was the only person here. The place is located in a fairly busy plaza with a bunch of food and shops. It really felt like a hole-in-the-wall type of place but then again everything in this plaza kind of is. The interior is quite simple with well-loved furniture. Orders: - Meow Tea Mix: Less sweet. Comes with grass jelly, coffee jelly and pearls. Even though I got less sweet, because of the toppings, this got quite sweet for my tastes. Very creamy with soooo much toppings. - Honey Yuzu: More refreshing than I thought. I actually liked this one more than their signature Meow Tea Mix. - Popcorn chicken: Can add spice with the shaker on the rack next to the counter. Drinks 5/5: The wintermelon aloe teas were rich in flavor and a great level of sweetness. The aloe was fresh and provided a great balance to the drink. The Vietnamese coffee was strong and flavorful. Since I drank the coffee the following morning after the ice melted, the cup looked a quarter empty. A small boba shop in a busy area and the parking is horrible. However, the service and their drink is great. The shop itself can get pretty hot, and the seating isn't the best. Even so, I think they're better than nearby boba spots like Ding Tai Tea. I love their 'buy 2, get 1 free' deal. Their snacks are really good. I got my family and friends hooked on their drinks, especially the mango milk mix. It's so goood! Their milk pudding is hands down the best I've ever had. Excellent fruit teas. I got mango, lychee, and peach teas with passion fruit popping bobas and lowest sugar level (10-25%). They have a buy 2 get 1 free deal. I paid $4.50 per drink + 0.50 per topping. Really affordable, but more importantly, very delicious teas. Their fruity teas are perfect treats on a hot day. Meow Tea located in the same plaza as Lee's market on Senter Road. Parkings are always tight, but never too hard to find an empty spot. I had their Meow Tea Special and I got to say it was surprisingly good. The drink is basically just regular milk tea with coffee jelly, grass jelly and boba. Their boba is soft and chewy. The grass jelly was smooth and refreshing. The coffee jelly was a little harder than I expected, but the flavor was on point. There was a good balance between the milk and tea, but I would recommend getting it at maybe 75% sweetness. Their takoyaki was pretty spot on too. Meow Tea is a small boba shop in a very cramped strip plaza. Parking is very limited and it was hard to park because of how closely park everyone were parking since it was small plaza/parking lot. I thought it would be more of a cat themed cafe, but it was very simple inside. I opted for their jasmine milk tea with boba. The milk tea had a good creaminess to it with a good tea balance to it as well. The boba was on the chewier side and I felt like it was a workout just trying to chew the boba. My coworker was trying to find a simple chocolate smoothie or something similar, but they did not have any and were not as helpful, so she did not order anything. First timer. We had a huge dim sum lunch and decided to seek out some dessert to top off our afternoon. This milk tea shop found us through a yelp search and we decided to give it a go. It's located in a very busy shopping strip on Senter Road with tigghhhtttt parking stalls -- one of the reasons I've never been a fan of that strip mall. Anyway, when we walked in -- it was quiet (no music) and with just a few customers. I ordered the Watermelon Aloe and my girl ordered a Jasmine Milk Tea topped with their sea salt crema. My drink was fine but probably could've used more watermelon bits as there was heavy ice. I'm not complaining though because the drinks prices were actually inexpensive relative to their local competitors. As an example, both our drinks cost just under $10 while I could easily get a drink from another shop and pay about the same price for one drink. The guy who took our order was chill. Meow Tea's beverages range from $4.00 - $5.50 (+ their "Buy 2, Get 1 Free" promotion) with an extremely large menu for coffee, milk tea, fruit tea, and more. I normally order the Earl Grey Milk Tea with grass jelly and honey boba; it always comes out tasting delicious and perfect for when I have a lot on my plate! The food ordered, calamari and takoyaki, was super tasty as well and paired greatly with the tea. Things to take note of though are that the wait is longer than most places due to being a Mom & Pop business and that the taste of the drinks themselves may not be as good as teahouses such as TenRen's Teahouse or Boba Guys. I love it when boba shops have savory snacks. Meow Tea had a buy 2 get 1 free promotion, so my partner and I got a classic milk tea, oolong milk tea, kumquat tea, and a pandan waffle. We were surprised at how inexpensive everything was! I'm so used to milk tea being at least $5+ and waffles being at least $6+, so I thought this was a really good deal! I have a sweet tooth, so I generally like to order my drinks with 100% sweetness. I ordered 100% sweetness for the oolong milk tea and kumquat tea and these two drinks were a bit too sweet for me. I think I could've went with 75% haha. The drinks were really good! The pandan waffle was cooked perfectly. It smelled amazing and it tasted great! The shop is kind of small. The only reason I couldn't give 5 star is because the wait for the tea was a bit long. They were having a buy 2 get 1 free promo, which may have been a factor in the long wait because it was quite busy and warm outside so everyone had the same idea. We waited maybe 15 or 20 minutes for our drinks which is a bit longer than most places I've had to wait, but they could have been short-staffed.
