I'm a huge fan of Uju's which is a super cute small mom and pop boba shop. I've always been a fan of toppings and this place is a dream come true. They have a variety of toppings that you can choose from or you can do their full toppings which includes a little bit of everything. I've tried multiple drinks before but my favorite has to be the green Thai tea. It's super creamy and strong as well. They also have a variety of snacks that look super delicious but I haven't tried just yet. The customer service here is also so amazing. They're super patient with everyone that comes in and quick to support if you need any help or adjustments. read more

Uju is a family-run boba shop located inside of Vietnam Town that specializes in topping drinks. I was a little alarmed when I first learned that the T4 that this place used to be got replaced, but the fun, modern ambiance drew me in. There was a tablet that looked like it could've been a kiosk that wasn't working, but the bobarista that was taking my order was very friendly and provided good recommendations for what to get. There is also working wifi, which means that you can study or do work here with minimal problems. I decided to get the Matcha Oat Latte with no toppings, which thinking now might've not been the most ideal choice considering what UJU is known for (in my defense I was trying to save money). I also forgot to stir the drink properly when I got it which resulted in me tasting the two parts separately. The oat milk that was used had a sweet, pleasant taste to it (normally not an oat milk drinker so this was a nice experience) while the matcha had a grassy taste to it. Overall, an alright experience. I had a nice time, though I'm unsure if I got the proper UJU experience as a result of the drink that I chose. I tried their Banana Cheese Coffee, without the cheese. It's hella good! The folks here are hella nice too. Right when you walk in, they ask you if you've ever tried their products, and if you haven't they proceed to help you find the drink that best suits your taste buds and cravings. The place is also very ADA compliant and friendly. This is important for me, because my beautiful wife is ADA. Thank you UJU for the great hospitality and experience! Service was great, super friendly. Major complaint is that they give tons of ice and didn't offer reductions at the time, not sure about now. Price is also pretty steep all things considered. They do a good job at honoring sugar adjustments, so the lower levels don't taste terrible. Milk tea was also surprisingly decent for a spot that doesn't specialize in boba. If you're picking toppings, I would skip the jellies and just get the flans. While the jelly is super basic and offered at most Asian dessert spots, the flan was super soft and creamy, packed with flavor, and cheesy. I've been going to UJU since they opened over a year ago and I think it's one of the more underrated boba shops! The drinks here are rich in tea flavor and frequently paired with their delicious in house toppings. Their jellies are soft and chewy and they are generous with their full topping drinks. The drinks here give me more of a dessert vibe which makes a memorable experience. Their matcha drinks are so good and strong with oat milk. It's on the earthy side. My favorite is the cheese matcha as a huge fan of their salty and creamy cheese foam. I tried the coconut matcha as well which was just okay. The coconut juice was refreshing but definitely overpowers the matcha foam at the top. The matcha taste became very subtle after I completely mixed my drink. I think the coconut matcha could be improved for a more prominent matcha taste. Really enjoy the white and blue interior with a space themed aesthetic going on! It didn't mix in well compared to other drink establishment. It just tasted like standard milk tea with a hint of banana. The ice cream was just your ordinary crystal farm vanilla ice cream. I tried the pandan jelly but it didn't have a strong pandan taste. A super fun twist to traditional boba! Visited UJU twice now and loved it on both occasions. The variety of topping reminds me of Vietnamese Che Thai but with milk tea/fruit tea as the drink itself. UJU offers premade drink options as well as a build your own drink option if you want to customize your drink but I personally like to build my own. There are so many toppings to choose from and it is a bit overwhelming but their staff is super helpful and gave me some great suggestions! I am a huge texture person so I love that there are so many fun combinations you can make with the jelly toppings! The tea also has great flavor and isn't too sweet, I really loved the lychee honey chia tea. The cheese flan and mystery paw was cute and yummy but I don't think I'd get it next time. UJU also makes for a great hangout spot with a very modern design and they also have some boardgames for customers to play with as well. I came on a saturday afternoon. I was able to easily find parking and it was super chill inside. There are menus at the counter to choose your boba and toppings. I was confused on how to order, but the staff was very helpful and friendly! There are a lot of toppings to choose from and tea flavors as well. They even have a caffeine free section! This place is located in the center of Vietnam town. It took over where t4 use to be. Parking is never a problem since you can park in their garage or in the back. This place is great if you want to build your own drinks. It kind of took the idea of milk teas and che and fused it together. You can order your typical toppings or go for the full topping which is included in che. OR you can build your own che as well. It is an unlimited combinations! How to order is, by the front counter, take a menu and an eraser marker and mark what you would like. From single toppings to full topping (8 toppings) I believe. I was very impressed by Uju after my visit tonight.I had finished dinner next door and saw the former T4 was replaced by Uju. It's very eye catching from the outside and impossible to miss their neon blue lights. I love desserts with jelly and fun textures so I was immediately drawn to try #1 - jasmine milk tea with their top 8 jellies. Two things that were very impressive: 1. I asked for 25% sweet but the lowest they could do is 50%. This made me nervous because I hate it when my drinks are too sweet. Fortunately 50% was great! It's not too sweet even with all of the jellies! I would even say 75% would be the perfect Asian definition of "not too sweet" 2. The service was stellar! I saw the menu to ask about the jelly of the day. I asked about it after I already ordered and the cashier was so kind to let me try the jelly of the day- Thai tea paw pudding. It's so cute and so delicious! The texture is amazing!! This was my favorite jelly out of all the ones I tried. I think I would skip the thin noodles. It's too thin and I like big jellies. The interior is also very cute and there was plenty of seating inside. One thing that I was confused about was that the entire name is UJU Night Market, but there weren't any snacks on the menu...unless I missed it? We ordered 2 classic milk teas 1) Classic Milk Tea w/ Cream Boost and Grass Jelly ($7) 2) Classic Milk Tea w/ Cream Boost, Cheese Cream, and Cheese Flan ($9) We were confused at first with the Grass Jelly because when we got the drink, it looked like giant boba balls. But after trying the drink, it turns out that their Grass Jelly is just in the shape of boba balls. For the 2nd drink, I was disappointed to see that my Cheese Flan wasn't in the shape of a cheese like I see in all the photos. It was also a little too salty. The Cheese Cream was WAY TOO SALTY. The actual milk tea was disappointing. It tasted like a basic classic milk tea from Quickly's. I'm not hating on Quickly's because that's the milk tea shop I grew up with. But I could go to Quickly's and get a black milk tea for $4-$5. We particularly don't like how they price their drinks and topping add-ons. If you want a drink with no toppings, it's already $6 which is pretty high already compared to some other boba shops in the same plaza (Sack of Potatoes Milk Tea w/ Grass Jelly - $ 6.25). Went here with some friends for a late night boba run. We heard that this place is unique because of its halo halo style toppings. Most of my friends got one topping for their drinks but I wanted to go all out and try the recommended green thai tea with ALL the toppings! Came here twice, first time, apparently the boba isn't ready at open and is ~40-50 minute wait, which kind of sucks considering they have opening times that are usually later than most boba shops. My friend ended up having a very weak drink(watered down) which as anyone knows, is very disappointing. My second time around, came later in the day around dinner for Sunday and it was pretty much dead. They also seemed to revamp their ordering system as their menu has slightly changed in ordering process. Classic Milk Tea - 3/5 I'm honestly conflicted as the tea tastes are very muddled and confusing. Normal classic milk teas at almost every other location are usually black teas, sometimes oolong but here I was getting both hints of a bit of jasmine and hints of sweeter nutty/caramely tones (oolong or the brown sugar?). I'm obviously assuming its not Jasmine as jasmine has it's own order but could use some more help in the taste department. Toppings are hit or miss in a lot of aspects but as I really only care about boba, I think the boba was nicely cooked and flavored. Topping of the "day" is usually a paw print in a certain flavor, I've seen them have Thai and Ube so far. Sweet/weak tea *was* fixed from the first visit but also brings up consistency issues. Pricing, I'm not sure, essentially you're paying more, to get less total toppings, but more variety. May not fit many peoples palettes and if you frequent boba in the Bay, especially in the Cupertino area, you'll notice that a lot of places will actually prevent additional toppings as it changes taste profiles. Overall, a decent enough dessert that is open very late, but not a regular boba spot due to pricing, consistency, and tea profiles. The yelp also speaks about selling sushi snacks, but if I'm not mistaken, that is only a catering option at this time. If those snacks do end up making it into the menu I think it'd have more of an edge in an otherwise oversaturated boba area of SJ (Vietnam Town). read more

I believe the toppings we got were nata de coco, matcha jelly?, pandan jelly, lychee, boba, grass jelly, yellow pudding, and I forgot the rest. Fun vibe and I like that you can drink your Boba and play games. The jellies and flan are great and make the drink more fun in texture. Really a 3.5 but rounding up because we should always support local and Asian owned businesses :). Personally the tea is too sweet for me even at 50%. But that's cause I usually get tea at 0%.
