This little Barre studio is in the heart of Costa Mesa and has a warm homely feel to it. I used a Groupon for a month unlimited and it was a pretty seamless process to get my classes credited onto the Mind Body app. Contrary to other bad Yelp reviews, the booking of Groupon classes was easy and classes were available too. The barre instructor, Erika, appears sweet but her workouts are deliciously challenging! Morgan's Barre class is great too and a completely different barre style incorporating more HIIT and cardio. They offer a 'Pound' class which is a must try! It incorporates 2 x Drummer sticks and you're essentially having a jam session and rocking it out through the workout. It's a great stress reliever and recommended if you're having a bad day! I wish there were classes during the day between 10am and 5pm while my sons at school. I manage to do the 6.30am class but it's a rush in the mornings to get back and get him to school. 1 rest room, no showers. I like that they provide lockers with keys with no extra charge. Really cute locally owned studio. The staff is super welcoming and they even have an office dog. He's not allowed in the area where you workout but sometimes he'll pop his head in and it makes you smile for a minute after you'd been grimacing from workout torture. The classes are mostly Barre focused so a lot of it is standing and the instructors will definitely work you. Morgan's classes are high energy and cardio based. I always feel like I get a good workout from her. Erika's classes are also Barre but have a yoga-flow element to them. Danielle offers a Triple A (Arms, Abs, Ass) class that will tone the hell out of you and she just recently started teaching a TRX Barre workout that I haven't tried yet but will! They also hired a new girl Sam who does a Barre Bootcamp class that I've heard nothing but good things about. One thing I want to point out is that despite being in an industrial area, the studio is very clean. They have lockers for you to keep your things safe and the floors are hardwood (or laminate, I can't really tell the difference) point being that you won't walk into a hot room to the foul odor of sweaty carpet which makes this place a winner in my book. read more

I took my first barre class here on January 28, 2022. It was an amazing experience! I've already been back 3 times! I've been doing barre for 4 years and I was looking for a new studio since mine closed due to Covid. The studio itself was very clean and the space was quite large inside. The instructors (Tara & Morgan) that I've had are very professional and teach Barre using all of the proper techniques. The owners are a fabulous mother & daughter team. Love, love! I've been coming to Meraki Barre on and off for about a year or so. I'd heard a lot about pound from friends on the East Coast, and was looking for something new to incorporate into my workout routine. I found that Meraki Barre is one of the few places in Orange County that has pound. (Crunch is another one.. but the reviews I read on Crunch were horrible... and I don't want another standard gym membership.) In the time that I've been going to Meraki, there have been a few pound instructors (I think the first few times I came, the instructor was covering for someone on maternity leave.) Lately, the classes have been with Brie, and she's great! I'm not the most coordinated person in the world.. but this class pushes me in the right way. And it's fun! I like the fact that the studio isn't huge -- you can actually SEE the instructor and understand what's going on. Pound usually has between four and seven individuals -- these are good numbers. Meraki is one of my favorite barre studios and overall workout location in the area. The studio is clean and well kept, they've done a great job with their Covid adjustment. Gotta give it up to Groupon for helping me find the most AMAZING places. I, like most people, found Meraki Barre through their awesome 20 classes for $39 deal. I joined with a friend and we're both completely addicted. Using up 20 classes in 2 months sounds like a chore but when they start coming to an end you start having withdrawals (no kidding). All the classes here are so fun and NO JOKE. You will FEEL the burn. I have completely accepted the fact that I will be sore ALL OF THE TIME. TRX with Nicholas is INTENSE...I almost threw up the first time. But I LOVE it - he's fun and gives modifications for newbies. Hip hop barre is tons of fun and you don't need any formal dance training so don't be intimidated!! Barre with Emily is probably my favorite class. She's super fun - she's like your super cool best friend and pushes you really hard. Robin, the owner, is amazing. She's always there to greet you with a smile and make you feel at home. She's always so full of sunshine and she'll do whatever she can to help and accommodate you. And of course, Motley, the Meraki mascot. The cutest dog in the ENTIRE world. Robin and her staff are AMAZING, so warm and welcoming, I love the Pound classes with Amanda, and I like the Barre TRX unfortunately I think I need to work up to those because of a foot surgery i had year ago, but I really like Danielle my first time there she asked me if I had an injurys so I told her about my foot so she helped with modifying as mush as I could. I really wanted to like this place. I was super excited when I saw the groupon deal because I have been eyeing this place as my next go to work out place. However, it's a BIG disappointment. If you bought a groupon deal, forget about getting into a class because they give a priority to people who has a paid membership and the classes are always full. The owner will tell you you will likely to get into a class and you shouldn't be intimidated by their reservation system but don't be fooled unless you plan everything around your workout schedule. When I asked the owner if there is a way for me to get into classes better and more often (which I paid for!), guess what the owner suggested - buy the membership. Well... without having a chance to try classes, how can I committ to the membership! And I paid for this groupon deal! THEY SHOULD NEVER HAVE SOLD THESE MANY GROUPONS IF THEY CAN'T MANAGE PROPERLY. Meraki has a lot of potential. They offer a variety of classes here which you can browse and book online. They also provide lockers, as well as quality equipment for you to use. I attended a few barre classes here, but it really was not enough to win me over. The studio was too cramped for me to feel comfortable working out in. I felt like I spent a lot of my energy just trying to avoid kicking someone in the face during the workouts. Perhaps it would have been better if they cut down the class size, which would allow for more wiggle room. We were instructed to grab a ball, weights, a ring, and a block for the barre workout. We used each piece of equipment for 1-2 moves, and then they were set aside. I felt like all the equipment was unnecessary and distracted from a good workout. Other barre classes I've attended focused primarily on working out at the barre, which is what I thought I signed up for. In fact, I don't think we spent very much time at the barre at all. I didn't feel that the class was very organized or focused; it felt sloppy and random. I left each class feeling under challenged, and never experienced that good sore feeling the next day. I think new routines with less frilly equipment and slightly smaller class sizes would contribute to a better and more efficient workout, and will return if this happens. read more

I LOVE this place! I've recently joined and I can't get enough. Each instructor I've met is WELCOMING and WARM, along with being energetic and inspiring! If you are looking for a place that is not intimidating at all, you've found it! I had never taken a yoga or barre class before and hadn't worked out in over a year when I joined. My first class was hard but achievable and we were given modification options throughout the class. The owner is awesome and helpful too! Prices are great and class times are perfect for busy lives!! I will update my review after I take my first class tomorrow. This review is solely based on my experience with bureaucratic matters. I bought the groupon 10 classes for $20. Awesome deal. I called earlier today to see if I needed to bring/wear anything specific. Called twice. No answer. I think they only answer their phone during the times they have class. Rushed to make the 6PM class tonight. The studio is located in a building that is hard to find because there's no visible building number that you can see from the street. I called to get directions and the receptionist was somewhat helpful. I ended up turning into the right building out of luck and saw the Meraki Barre car parked outside. I probably wouldn't have found the studio if the car wasn't there. I make it just in time for class but was told I can't go in because the class is full. Obviously I'm upset. I rushed to make this class, couldn't find the building, and then am told my frustrations are futile and have to come back another time. Fine, I'll come back, but it would be nice if I would've known to reserve my spot in class ahead of time to save myself this unnecessary frustration. Maybe they should put in BOLD on their website that their classes fill up quickly so reserve a spot online. Or maybe they should redirect their phone lines to a cell phone so calls are answered at all hours of the day. I'm sure if I spoke with someone earlier when I called, I would've found out about the reservation system. Lesson for first timers: reserve your spot online before you take a class! read more

I've fallen in love with this studio and wish I had purchased the 20-class Groupon deal! What initially led me to Meraki was my curiosity of Pound classes and they're the only studio in Orange County that offers them. I've taken Pound & Barre with Jamie-- she's energetic, tough, but very encouraging! Pound is more a cardio workout with a lot of squat work-- thighs were so sore after the first couple classes-- and Barre is a lot of small pulsing movements that help with muscle toning. Both classes are very beginner friendly and great introductions to what Meraki has to offer. Tonight was my first time taking the Candlelit Restorative Yoga Flow class (Lindsey was our fantastic instructor) and was surprised at how much I ended up loving it!! I'm still a beginner in yoga so it was my first Vinyasa flow class and half-way through I was sweating like I never had before!! The sequences were challenging but not impossible so that beginners in the room can follow along! Instructors are kind and give their full attention. The studio is small (hence the waitlisting mentioned by others) but I had no problems getting into classes if I reserved a spot 3-4 days ahead. Yes, that means it does require some forethought but they allow cancellations up to 12 hrs before class time. And having to schedule it in helped me commit to showing up. Highly recommend Meraki Barre. Determined to keep my eyes open for another deal because I'm hooked! read more

Incredibly disappointed! I had been wanting to try barre classes for some time now, and was excited when they first released the Groupon deal for it. In short, I was never able to get into a single class. I tried for 3-4 months, signing up 2 weeks in advance (which I believe was the furthest you could book ahead online), and added myself to the waitlist every time to no avail. Even 2 weeks out, the classes would often have a 15-20 person waitlist. The last time I tried to get into a class I managed to get to waitlist position 10 or 11, and after 2 weeks I don't think my position changed at all. I tried calling the studio and when I finally got through to someone, they gave me the same BS that's on their website...just add yourself to the waitlist and you will more than likely get in. Finally I contacted Groupon, who of course tried to contact the studio and get me into a class. No response from Meraki, after 2 weeks Groupon gave me a credit. read more

I purchased a Groupon deal doe Meraki Barre and once processed I signed up on their site for my login and password. I of lowe all their instructions and was lucky to get a reservation for the first class I requested( based on reviews not typical). I called the business immediately to ask a few simple questions, as this was going to be my first Barre class. Having taken ballet as a child & teenager I had certain expectations and just wanted questions answered. I bought a Groupon for here and I've tried out Barre, Barre Luxe, and Pound. All of these classes were amazing and such good workouts. This is all due to the awesome instructors they have. They get you excited to work out and have such a great energy. Every class I've gone to I've had a fun time and look forward to the next! I still have yet to try out their TRX classes and A.B.T but that is next on my list. They have classes all hours of the day so it makes it easy to work something into your schedule which I really appreciate. The on-line scheduling is also a bonus and makes it much easier. The studio is beautiful, there are plenty of lockers to place your stuff and the bathroom is always clean and fully stocked w/anything you could need and stuff you didn't even know you needed! I found this place through Groupon and wanted to like this place due to their awesome variety of classes but could not: -I called and left messages to try to talk to someone about signing up for my first class and no one ever answered or called me back. -Therefore I showed up and the desk girl explained the scheduling procedure to me. Told me to change and be on standby. I didn't get in the class and went home. She was nice enough and got me signed up for the next class so I could have a spot secured. -It required a lot of effort to keep checking the schedule and try to sign up for a class weeks in advance. The classes were only posted maybe a few weeks out and the schedules kept changing so it was hard to plan. -I took the hip hop barre class and honestly did not know what to expect. I've done regular barre and cardio/dance barre. This was basically some barre elements and then the last 15 min, you were being taught a dance routine. I didn't enjoy that. The instructor was nice though. -I tried the pound class but I didn't like the music and I didn't get a good workout from it. -I've been doing TRX for about a year and tried their class. I liked the advanced class because I was able to do exercises I had not done before. The guy instructor was very good but I think he was the only one because once he went on vacation, there was no class. Also, one thing that was distracting, he sometimes had b.o. -I liked the down to earth casual vibe of the place but unfortunately it was also a bit dirty. -I couldn't get used to the fact that you had to be barefoot for every class. I found Meraki Barre through Groupon and bought the 20 class option. I wasn't sure how things worked and was waitlisted for a class, so I actually came in from class only to find out that I was far from getting in. The owner, Robin, did take down my information and told me how things worked though. Basically, they put you in their system so that you can reserve a class online, and as long as you have a Groupon, you won't have to pay for a class until it expires or you run out of classes. Robin is very nice and helpful, and it's always a pleasure to see her. My first class there was ABT (Abs Butt Thighs) with Katie, and it was a lot more of a cardio workout than I thought! My abs, butt, and thighs were burning like crazy throughout all the routines, and I came out satisfied. Katie has some great routines that really burn! I found it to be very difficult to sign up for evening Barre classes initially, but after a week of being there I got into every class that I signed up for online (they do have a wait-list as well, but I think you're pretty much on it if you don't sign up for classes 1-2 weeks ahead of time). Barre proved to be a very good workout also. Emily does the Hip Hop Barre classes, and I love her style of instruction. Much like Katie, for every routine, they go through the movements first to show you what you'll be doing and for you to get an idea of how long it'll go for, and they also instruct you while we're all exercising. They're both very good about critiquing your form if it's off, so you can be assured that you won't look like an idiot on a bar. Emily is very energetic and can really get the class going. I've also tried Yoga Flow with Nicholas, and surprisingly, that was quite a workout as well. You're standing in one spot, but you're sweating and your body is burning at the same time. The classes are low impact and not strenuous, so not only is it great workout in general, but also a good supplement to more high-impact, strenuous workouts (high interval cardio, for example). The studio has 3 restrooms (no shower), a Brita filter so you can fill up your water bottles (they also provides cups if you need them), and free key lockers so you can keep your belongings safe. They also provide all the equipment for you, so no need to bring a yoga mat, as they already provide that, weights, a ball, a brick, and etc. This is a highly recommended workout for those that need something more low-impact but still strengthens and tones your body. I haven't seen significant changes to my body quite yet but in a month I can give an update =) read more

Purchased the 20 class package off Groupon. Used mostly on TRX, which I really enjoyed. I took a few Barre classes and those were killer too! Things I really loved about Meraki: - Ample Parking - Lockers (no need to bring your own locks!) - There are water cups at the front desk if you didn't bring any - Online reservation system (I loved this because it really motivates you to go!) - High quality mats are provided - Clean studio with air conditioning Things I didn't like: - Partner system on TRX. Most TRX classes are currently set up to where you partner up, and one person starts on TRX, one person on a mat and you switch off. I was fine with this, until there was one week where we were on the TRX the entire time - it made me realize how much better of a workout it was when you weren't switching off between TRX and mat. I understand they need to do this to accommodate the amount of people who sign up but just my 2 cents. - Inconsistent scheduling system... some weeks the schedule for the next week would not be up until Sunday. Some weeks, it was up 1-2 weeks ahead. - Pricing. Although I really enjoyed it - I just can't justify paying upwards of $150+ per month for a membership here. Overall, I really do like this place. Wow so where do I even begin! I absolutely love this studio! I seriously do not have one negative thing to say about it. I have tried all the classes with my favorites being Barre, barrelux, and a.b.t. The studio and all of the staff is always very warm and welcoming. Robin the owner is awesome and she always pays attention to great detail. For example the bathroom has hair ties, tampons, face wash etc. Thus if you forget anything your pretty much covered 8). There are also lockers there for you and water. This was my first time taking barre and I fell in love with it. I can tell my core has gotten so much stronger and I can tell my body has become more toned and defined. Every class here is awesome and all of the instructors will kick your butt and push you hard. One of my favorite things about the studio is they will have a set schedule for a month then they will switch it up the following month. Since I work I can only take the evening classes, so I like that each month it's different for me so I can get a variety and it's not repetitive. I love this studio. I started with he Groupon - and when I do that I'm"m never sure what I'm going to get! Yes, online resos took some getting used to. They release all the classes Sunday at 10am. so I hot on that day at some point to reserve for the rest of the week. I do the TRX class with Ambia in the am - she is awesome! She corrects your form gently and encourages us all to keep going. I'm always sweating bullets and she mixes s up all the time - I'm never NOT sore! She keeps it all fun. They do have a strict no-show policy, but I like it because it gets my butt out of bed in the morning, so I'm cool with it. Things happen, but it's all about commitment. I did a barre lux class and I like it as well. I wasn't all that crazy about my barre class with Kim - it was a little more unstructured and that's not my thing, but everyone there is very nice and positive. I love Meraki Barre! I started with a 10 class groupon and became addicted to their barre classes and purchased a 20 class package. I love that they have several different instructors for the barre classes, which guarantess me a varied experience and level of difficulty at each class I attend. I've been coming since June and I still get sore every time! I've seen some reviews complain about the online scheduler, but I love it (especially now that it has an app)! I never had trouble getting into classes when I was using my groupon, you just need to sign up several days in advance. Now that I have a class package, I always get into the class I want. I love Meraki Barre! I I discovered the studio through a Groupon purchase. I had never tried Barre before, so I was a little nervous before my first class, but all of the instructors are very welcoming to beginners. I have purchased several fitness Groupons, but this is the first place that I have ever purchased additional classes after my Groupon was over. They had a great 20 class deal at the time. I am so hooked, I am going to keep buying classes. I have tried both Barre and Pound. I personally prefer Barre, but the Pound class was very fun and challenging. I have been coming since June and I can definitely see results. I have taken classes from three different instructors (Jamie, Radhika and Jen) and they are all great! They each have different styles and routines, so you never get bored. I love that I can sign up for classes through the "MindBody Connect" app. It makes scheduling so easy! The studio is really convenient too. There is no need to bring a mat or a lock for your locker, that is all provided. I'm always open to trying different workouts and a friend of mine mentioned the barre method so when I saw that Plum District was offering a deal, I had to check it out. I purchased $49 for 10 classes and recently tried my first class. The studio is hard to find especially at night :( when I called to tell them I was lost, she came out to the main road and stood in the middle so I could find where to turn easily :) WOW so hospitable. I was a little late for the class but they were very understanding... The studio is so adorable, cozy, and clean. No locker room, but they provide lockers for all your stuff in the front. Bring a small towel (if you want) and you're set. They have everything you need. I took Barre with Andrea and I loved it. My usual daily workout is mainly a hot yoga class or a jog, so the barre method was definitely something new. It's a lot of toning and small movements that target the problem areas... sometimes the movements involve using balls, the barre, rings, or weights. It's a great workout and Andrea is very motivating and adjusts you when necessary to ensure that you're doing it right and getting the workout you came for! They're very beginner friendly and the movements are easy to follow. I'm definitely looking forward to taking more classes. We got tea at the end! It was delicioussssssss. I have been wanting to try a bar method class for quite some time & I was a little nervous because I am not a dancer & I totally lack coordination. When I saw the groupon I was psyched because it was a great deal & super close to my home. After trying one class, I fell in love with the exercises, the instructors, and the studio altogether. The ladies at Meraki Barre are so welcoming & they make you feel good about yourself while kicking your butt in to shape! I have seen some great changes in my body & I owe it to this studio for making me want to come back every time. Better yet I want to work even harder each time. I got the 10-pass Groupon and I have 3 classes left. I am loving it here! I've taken a few of the Barre classes from both Jess and Alex, but my surprise favorite is the Tuesday yoga class. It is a good workout--I work up a pretty decent sweat--but not as intense as barre. I try to alternate barre and yoga as my schedule allows. The only downside is that once my pass expires I don't think I'll be able to afford to come back, at least not for a while! Totally a shame, because I look forward to my weekly classes and I will be sad to leave. The facilities are great; clean studio with good equipment, always smells like tea tree oil cleanser. It is a very welcoming space, as opposed to some studios which can feel cold and impersonal. All levels are welcome, and there aren't any judgy people to feel intimidated by. You can tell the instructors care about making it a high quality studio. Now, I just need to become independently wealthy so that I can afford that monthly pass! read more

Definitely like where this company is going with things. I had a little trouble getting the groupon thing worked out (was waitlisted, but didn't get an email saying I got in the class, because I opted out of the emails). The owner took care of it promptly and is super professional and friendly, and I got into the class just fine. I took a POUND fitness class last night, it was my first group class in about 12 years, so I was a little nervous. The instructor was very positive and encouraging, the class kicked my butt! I'm in agony today, but it's the good kind of agony. The crowd seemed to be mostly early to mid 20 year old women, so I felt a little old (I'm 30), but I think I kept up pretty well considering. My only complaint would be that the air conditioning was broken, so we had to do "bikram pound" and I was drenched in sweat by the time we were done. I'm looking forward to trying the class again when it's not 90 degrees out! I like that they provide everything you need (mat, ripsticks, a locker for free etc). Bring a towel and water. to class Sidenote: for all of the people complaining about Groupons, please realize the companies that offer Groupons get only HALF of what you pay. That means if you pay $19 for 10 classes, they are getting $9.50 - which works out to less than a dollar per class. I personally think it's worth the money in this case. My first time at this place was last Wednesday when i came to take hip hop with the fabulous tremaine & let me start off by saying it was ABSOLUTELY amazing!! This class is such a great cardio workout while having a fun time dancing & learning new moves! Tremaine is so encouraging & takes time to go over & over the routine so that you understand it personally so at the end of the class when we dance it out you can remember it & end up putting your own twist & personality to the routine! Meraki Barre is a great place to get a work out in! I purchased a groupon to check out Meraki and am so happy with the classes here. I didn't take any Barre classes but did try the Pound and TRX classes. I absolutely loved the Pound classes (my thighs - not so much, they burned the whole class)! In the Pound class, you unleash your inner rock-star by working out with weighted drum sticks. The music played in the class and you do a lot of squats! Classes are going for any fitness level. If you are a newbie to a class, they will help you with exercises or show you how to modify. Robin, the owner, is great. She is always peppy when you go to sign in for a class and is ready to answer any questions you have. I had signed up for a class that they were offering at a discount and when that class got canceled, she offered to let me take another class at the discounted rate. So check out Meraki, take a Pound class and hit those Ripstix so hard they break! read more

First time here with a groupon. I had no problem reserving a spot in the class. :) Took a barre class with Destiny. quick impression for those who don't want to read the big review. Good studio with pleasant members. A little hard to find. I think my groupon is well spent here. Meraki Barre uses an online system to reserve spots for classes which is really handy. No more paper schedules, everything is just a click away online. The online system is super easy to use too. no stress. no mess. no fuss. The studio was a little hard to find. Its in a warehouse-like area and it took me a little bit of time to find the place. There is no giant sign that lets you know you have found the place. So you are just going to have to look hard for it. Its a little ways in and hidden. On the bright side though, there is PLENTY of parking. and its not super crowded there. woo! I hate searching for parking anywhere. so easy parking is definitely a plus. The studio is small in size compared to the last studio I went to. There are lockers there for your stuff which is EXTREMELY handy as I would like a safe place to put my purse. There is water provided for you in cups but I STRONGLY recommend you to bring your own water. Hydrate as you exercise! All equipment is provided too! No lugging yoga mats or weights! For the barre class: I definitely sweated my butt off. Difficulty wise: its moderate and not strenuous. Compared to other barre classes I've been to at other studios, this was an easier class. I did still sweat and have my butt kicked though. Overall good first impression. I had a fun time in class. Studio is neat and clean. Online scheduler makes everything easier and more streamline to handle. I'll update as I take more classes. Side note: For those of you who want to call the studio, chances are someone won't pick up. Its super small and I don't think there is someone there at all times to answer the phone. read more

. . . totally different than expected . . . you will get more than you bargain for here . . . I went in to scope out the joint and check rates - nothing else. Instead, I met an instructor just before she went inside to conduct her class; she was super-friendly and very welcoming. Thereafter, I went about my business and began chatting with another employee in the lobby so I could have all of my questions answered. We talked for a long while; totally cool, very informative, straight forward, and extremely helpful. Later, I discovered she was the owner of the place. ¡ Perfect ! I couldn't wait to sign up. I'm happy to say that I did get to try their barre class and enjoyed it. I can understand the review by Aditi A. mentioning that it seemed to be more geared towards beginners but I think that can be attributed to the fact that a lot of people in the classes ARE beginners (there were many in the class that I was in, too). Whether it is for barre, pound, ABT, or whichever... I think it's great that the instructors are taking that into consideration rather than going balls to the wall, which can potentially turn off and/or intimidate newcomers. I would consider myself a pretty "seasoned" participant of all kinds of barre classes; but due to my complete natural lack of coordination, I still can appreciate tutorials now and then. I only have two minor complaints... 1) the online scheduling is frustrating. I can sign up for classes with the online scheduling feature for other studios at least 1-2 weeks in advance. But Meraki's online schedules only seem to show the current week's classes and you can't sign up, or even view advance schedules until the Sunday night before the new week begins (usually). And my other complaint (and this is just a personal problem) is that it is just tad bit too far for me when my other barre class is much closer. So for those two reasons alone, I probably will continue going to my usual studio. If Meraki were closer, I definitely wouldn't hesitate to be a regular here. Pound class is something I would def come back for... that was some crazy stuff!! read more

This place just makes me smile. On a recommendation from a friend, I purchased a two free week package for $40. Afraid I would be waitlisted out of any chance to use it, the staff assured me I could book any class I liked and they'd move me onto the confirmed list. Promise was kept, and in two weeks I tried Barre, Pound and TRX several times. They also have Yoga and Hip Hop Barre. My favorite part - every class is barefoot. Barre was a killer - they have a mix of instructors to keep it interesting and I never did the same thing twice. Pound was new to me - a fun aerboic and strength mix using "drum sticks" to do song-length routines on mats. The time flew with each song bringing on a new routine. TRX was tough but good. More than the classes, the vibe of the stuido is great. The staff is thrilled to see you when you walk in, you get high fives during class, and these people just all around love their jobs - makes working out more fun. read more

Just got home from Barre with Janine and I'm sold! Never have I taken a work out class with such a friendly staff! Meraki is new but it definitely worked to my advantage as it was basically a private class, just my girlfriend and I! Janine was SO helpful and motivating. I was a groupon addict and would do whatever new fitness promotion groupon had. Hence why I stumbled across Meraki Barre. After a few classes however, I was hooked! I've broken my groupon-hopping ways and have already purchased several class packs and unlimited month plans. That is how much I enjoy Meraki! All the classes are awesome! Yoga sculpt challenges my form and makes me sweat. Pound challenges my endurance and coordination (I also love that it is high-intensity, short workout). Barre and barre lux though are my favorite. These classes challenge my endurance, form, and control. The owner, Robin, is also super great. She is very friendly and helped me out even though I missed a bunch of classes due to work schedule. As for deals, outside of groupon, Meraki has been offering some pretty good promotions that I have cashed-in on. They are currently running a promo right now. read more

To reiterate what has already been said, don't let the recent negative reviews deter you from coming here. I also purchased a Groupon deal (10 classes for $19) and haven't had any trouble getting into my class of choice. In most cases I have been waitlisted and then later added to the class (my friend as well), no issues. Robin, the owner, is great and I have now taken classes with both Emily and Destiny and have nothing but awesome things to say. The POUND class is going to kick your ass and you'll love it. You will walk out sweaty, tired, and feeling like you lost 5lbs in 50 minutes (at least that's how I felt). It is a total body workout. This class is what prompted me to buy the deal as it is the only studio in OC that offers POUND. Did this class with Emily-she is very approachable and helps you get it right throughout the class. I will be going back once my Groupon runs out. The Cardio Barre class was also great. It blew my mind how the simplest of moves could just make my muscles work! Destiny was a great instructor...I can imagine it would be fun taking her POUND class as well. I am already signed up for a YogaFlow and YogaSculpt class which I am sure will be just as awesome. If you are looking for an alternative to going to the gym, this is the place for you. read more
