Finally got around to trying Red Mesa Mercado after walking by it approximately 700 times. Street or paid lot parking available. All seating is outdoors (covered) and you order and pick up at the window. Very casual! We tried the dip trio, which came with a large bag of chips. All three dips were tasty! We also tried the puffy tacos and the steak & potato street tacos. Both were very good, would order again! House Margaritas are $4 on Tuesdays and thats a great deal! Service was fine but not overly friendly. Great spot for a fast, casual dinner. read more

New restaurant. It is just ok. I ordered the chipotle chicken burrito, which arrived completely covered in chipotle mayo. I was expecting a burrito that you could pick up and eat, not a mayo soaked mess. I found the chicken inside the burrito to be pretty grey. All of the food I tried was fine, but not great. A bit confused about the restaurant- the salsa is free but the chips cost money? Fairly quick service. Food arrived fast. Vibes in the restaurant are weird- it doesn't feel like a Mexican restaurant at all. Weirdly bright and not on theme. The patio is a nice touch, but it is not fenced in or otherwise protected, and I saw a coyote across the street so keep that in mind if you sit outside. read more

Cute place. Have gotten the shrimp tacos twice and they were delicious both times. I liked that there were two. Many food trucks give you three which is too much for me. Companion had the taco salad with chicken. That was a miss. Chicken was cold and almost tasted can. Both reasonably priced for St. Pete. The sangria we had was tasty but seemed water down. Two of us a pitcher was not an issue. Good price at half off. Too much if we had paid full price. read more

Worse mexican food I've ever had. Two burritos and a bag of chips was over $35.00. Ordered the carnita burrito, have no idea what kind of meat it was but it sure wasn't pork. Second one was supposed to be a combo burrito, beef beans and rice. There was no meat, it was all rice and beans. Ordered a bag of chips. The bag was covered in grease when I got home. I love this place! Whenever I have a Sunday Funday with my son we always go to the Mercado. My go to is the chicken burrito with queso and chips with guacamole. I have always had friendly service and enjoyed the food. The seating is outside but it's covered. Casual laid back atmosphere. read more

Love the design of the restaurant! Plentiful outdoor seating and a well designed interior too. The service was fine, not the best in the ordering process and messed up a couple of items but resolved it quickly and easily. But the food was great! From the dip trio to the crispy and soft tacos to the tamale, each dish was delicious and satisfying. Glad to have a great outdoor dining option in this area! read more

Our second visit with a group and everyone was impressed with food quality. This time added starters which were all decent sized for sharing. And flavorful! With starter, had to take home half my meal - lunch next day! Staff again was friendly, apologized for slight delay in service as they were super busy (happy to see garden area filling up!). You do need to deal with the disposable cups & plates approach, which was kinda disconcerting at first. Loved the hibiscus mimosa! Will be my go-to drink next time. Cause we will be back. read more

Was so excited they opened in that location, we can walk there. We love Red Mesa downtown. This location must be the evil twin. The venue is amazing, but I feel like I am in an old Wendy's commercial, WHERE'S THE BEEF?? The protein is so skimpy. Highly anticipated but very disappointed. Have loved Red Mesa on 4th for decades. Hard to believe this is from the same team. Food was mediocre at best. Shockingly food is served on metal trays and cardboard plates. Portions are very small especially for the price. Ambiance is nothing special ( indoors) ; pretty nice outdoors. Food quality was second rate. Service was good. We ordered mac and cheese for our 2 year old grandson and it look like it came out of a box from the dollar store Needs a quick intervention on food quality and quantity or this place will not survive in this location. read more

1. They "lost" the reservation for seven people, as a result, we had to eat inside and it was uncomfortable. 2. The Server was great, but he was also the bartender for the whole place, so serve was slow. 3. Half-priced margaritas didn't even measure up to half-price. 4. Food was overpriced, not all that good AND served on paper plates. Not what you would expect for the price. Everyone in the party agreed that we would be giving Red Mesa and "misso" in the future. read more

Sad that this location seems cursed for anything good. I live very close and this area needs something other than dead bobs. The service is great and friendly. Food was just ok. Had a chicken empanada and puffy taco. Everything is in plastic including the side of rice and beans and alcoholic drinks. It takes away a bar vibe to drink like I'm at a college party and a 12 dollar hibiscus margarita should come in a pretty glass. Could be cool but need to elevate it a bit more. read more

Sooo disappointed with food portion and cost. We were really excited for a new place in the neighborhood. Marg was good good and vibe was nice, we sat outside, however I got a steak taco salad it was $22 and came with about 2 oz of steak, 1/4 of an avocado if not less, the beans and tomatoes were frozen and shredded lettuce. I could've gotten double the amount of food at chipotle for $15...yikes..very disappointed read more

Good margaritas, delish burritos, chips & salsa in a beautiful outdoor setting with good service. It was a lovely evening after the full moon to be eating outside. Right next to FreeFall Theater. Happy to have a Red Mesa restaurant closer to where I live. Try it. read more

Service? Excellent. Prices? Not so much. A steak burrito runs $18 before you even think about adding any other topping$. Hot sauce? That'll be another dollar for a side of "salsa" that's thinner than tap water. Flavor was basically nonexistent, and the portions were tiny. I had a $50 gift card, which is the only reason I gave it a shot, but honestly, I wish I'd just sold it for $20 and hit Taco Bell instead. At least there, I'd have enjoyed myself before regretting my life choices. read more
