This place is in this newish food court. They use fresh fish and the quality was good. Flavors were pretty tasty too, which is always good. I got my poke to go, but there are also tables inside so you can sit to eat.

This is my take on this newly opened Poke Bowl eatery. Service was friendly and helpful. The counter person explained some of the options. My wife went with the shoyu ahi bowl, her sides were Imatation crab and pickled ogo. My bowl was with two choices. Spicy Ahi and Hawaiian Ahi. Sides were pickle ogo and seaweed salad. They only serve white rice in their bowls. The spicy ahi tasted good ,but the spice level was a very low. The Hawaiian ahi was tasty and you could taste and feel the Hawaiian salt. Rating Spicy Ahi *** Hawaiian Ahi *** Enjoy

I have a new favorite poke place and it's no more than 5 minutes from my current job. And let's just say it's fresh, fast, and so delish I keep coming back for the same thing over and over and over (as evidenced by my bowls lol). They're super reasonably priced. Where a single choice is $15, two choice is $18 - and on Monday a single choice bowl is only $13?! And for a customizable bowl? Yummm. I normally go for the two choice and being boring love to get JUST cucumbers. But their toppings are free so load it up with the furikake, bubu arare, and the fried garlic and onion chips which add great crunch and saltiness. Their spicy Hawaiian is my absolute favorite. I actually like it's not super saucy and you can taste the different ingredients. I also love that you can taste the Hawaiian salt. And the onions aren't cut TOO big iykyk. The other favorite is the ginger scallion which is just as tasty. Buuuut I do sometimes wish the sauce was a tad bit saltier (which is why I get the toppings). We've also tried a bunch of other flavors! Their creamy pesto is something delish to try and unique. I'm fairly sure if they were able to broil it that would be sooooooo tasty. Their kimchi ahi was good but a bit in the sweet side for me. I almost wish they had some kind of spunky crunchy kimchi bits in it to offset the freshness of the fish. And another great flavor we tried was the spicy ahi, hard to go wrong with that - right? Lol A silly story is that when they staff was deciding what drinks to stock we told them 100% Diamond Head Strawberry soda. And now it's on the menu!!

Located in the Newly Opened Liliha Food Court is Mermaid Poke. This location is very convenient and has ample parking. Located close to Liliha McDonalds in the old Foodland location, inside Liliha food court. Mermaid Poke is either 5oz or 8oz of Fresh poke and comes with 2 sides over white rice. This is the place to check out if you want the poke made to order. They have so many varieties of poke that they mix together when you order. I've tried the ginger scallion and the thai curry poke both were yummy! The service is friendly and the fish is fresh not frozen. Competitive pricing and convenient location. Many side options to choose from and both sizes come with 2 sides. There is seating inside or you can take out.

Finally!! A place nearby for my poke bowl fix. It was sad to see Foodland and their poke bowls leave the neighborhood but we got a new kid on the block that took its place. Meet, Mermaid Poke! As soon as you walk in, hang a left and they'll be right there in the first stall. You can't miss it. They offer many styles of poke bowls. I ordered the One choice Spicy Shoyu Bowl with Two side orders, which I picked the Crab Salad and the Taegu. ONO!!! As for the staff, they were friendly. The service was fast. I recommended giving Mermaid Poke a try.

Update 2-28-26. Ordered again from here and this time my side was Kim chee instead of the pickled ogo. Still shoyu ahi, imitation crab, and this time Kim chee. It was good but I still prefer sushi rice.

Located in Liliha food court. I didn't have high expectations (of the food court in general) but this place is really good and the food court had a nice relaxing atmosphere for a Sunday afternoon. Fast and friendly service, The poke was tasty, quality and amount reflect the price well.

    Nightly entertainment

Great Spicy Ahi Nachos. Fresh flavors and great service. Nice dinning area and entertainment in the evenings.

TL;DR Fantastic…read morepoke. Manoa represent!!! ----- Off the Hook Poke lives up to the hype. There's a constant line out the door filled with locals and tourists alike. And for good reason. Off the Hook delivers consistent, high-quality poke bowls (trays?) in the heart of beautiful Manoa Valley. I've been coming to Off the Hook since it opened way back in 2018. While the prices have steadily increased, the delicious poke has remained the same. For poke bowls, you have several options to consider: 1) Mini or regular size 2) Rice option (white, brown, sushi, or green salad) 3) One or two choices of poke At this point I've tried almost every one of their poke offerings, and they are all fantastic. You cannot go wrong with whatever you choose. However, I'd say 95% of the time I stick with the Cold Ginger Ahi and the Spicy Ahi. These are guaranteed hits. I also really like the Wasabi Furikake Ahi. Lastly, makes sure you load up on their free toppings! Masago, tempura flakes, and scallions. Yummmy!

Originally posted 7/24/2024: This little Manoa poke shop…read morestorefront always has lines snaking around the block, but not today, so I couldn't resist finding out what all the hype was about. Off the Hook advertises auction-fresh ahi, which distinguishes it from other poke joints that use previously frozen fish. Since I was a first-timer, I opted for a sampler: 1/4 # of each of the following: Shoyu Poke, Kilauea Fire, and the signature Cold Ginger Ahi, which my friends have been raving about. All three were good and seasoned perfectly: just the right amount of sauce. My favorite, hands-down, was the Cold Ginger ahi, which pays homage to the Cantonese ginger-scallion sauce served over chicken, and not oily: wonderfully fresh grated ginger in this! Shoyu was also on point: nice sweet umami sauce. Was actually expecting much more spice in the Kilauea Fire, which had a mild chili flavor. Miso gave it depth and richness, making the sauce gochujang-like in flavor. Arguably, the only downside would be the price point: 1LB= $33.99 1/2LB= $16.99 1/4LB= $8.49: expensive, but excellent-quality product, and definitely fresh, with melt-in-the-mouth fish.

What stands out to me is their variety of unique flavors - even your basic shoyu or spicy ahi poke has a more creative and/or elevated version here! The Yuzu Shiso Ahi poke is my single favorite poke I've ever tried from anywhere; this combination is absolutely genius and feels tailor-made for me, as someone who loves these two flavors! They've also recently added a Kaffir Lemongrass Ahi poke that I love as well - you get exactly what the name suggests, which is bright, fresh, and full of flavor. The fish itself is always great quality; the flavor is always fresh despite the texture sometimes (rarely) having some tough parts. The prices are reasonable too, though I usually prefer ordering 1/2 or 1/4 pound of poke along with another side dish instead of a poke bowl. They have great sides like the Fish Patty Musubi or Inari Sushi, but I really hope they bring back the Grilled Musubi soon!!! Although the shop itself is very small and can get crowded quickly, the staff are always super friendly and efficient. As you can probably tell, I have nothing but love for Ali'i and would recommend them for any fan of poke!
