BEST breakfast I've had in a long time! My boyfriend and I were in Warwick for a wedding and we searched for a good breakfast spot. Mesa Café and Grill did not disappoint. We both had the huevos rancheros and DELICIOUS! Homemade tortillas, great service, and a quaint spot! Loved it. HIGHLY recommend and will totally take a road trip to go back! read more

This place is a hidden gem. The food is great and the staff is extremely attentive and they all are running food, taking orders, etc. The owner also is present and checks on all the tables. If you're in the area I would recommend for breakfast or lunch!! read more

This has been my favorite spot to get breakfast for over 3 years now. When people want to go anywhere else I put up a fuss until they agree to come here for the first time and they always love it! My coffee is never half full as they are always topping it off. Not only that but the owner comes around frequently to see how everything is going which is very nice. The plates are full and the dish I get takes TWO plates! The Rolfe Street Platter is to die for and for under 8 bucks, you can't lose. I get it : Rye toast, 2 scrambled eggs, french toast, hashbrowns, and bacon with a side of pico de galo! The service is almost always perfect, they accommodate large parties (I went the day of a breast cancer walk and only had to wait 5 minutes and the place was absolutely packed). Hands down, no questions asked, best local place for breakfast. I've brought many friends here and we always leave with full stomachs and smiling faces read more

Ordered a king breakfast to go. I had to ask for utensils and ketchup and syrup, there was nothing in the bag. I paid $16. for this breakfast. When I left I realized they did not put cheese on my eggs like I ordered and I did not get my orange juice. I was very disappointed. However, The food tasted good. read more

The overall experience was pleasant because the server was friendly, there was a lot to choose from, and the prices were low. The food was good but only relative to the price. The portions were large but nothing amazing. One thing I'd be mindful of is that everything was salty. There is only street parking but that wasn't a big problem. This is a nice neighborhood diner that is fairly spacious on the inside. The menu is pretty good and diverse. I will say that I will probably not return for several reasons (to follow), however there are some good reasons to try them out for yourself. First off the service is great. Coffee stayed toped off and the ladies were very engaged and happy. Second, the daughter loved the 'butterfly waffles' and the banana bread French toast was really good. So the down side for me. First, it is called Mesa, so you would expect some sort of Mexican or New Mexican style breakfast aside from a breakfast burrito. Or at least I would and I was let down. Second, their hash is canned. You can try to upsell it all you want, but it is still a can. And if you read any of my reviews, you know if you serve hash and it comes from a can, especially in RI, 3 stars is your max. Lastly, I have the hungry mans breakfast which has all the proteins and 2 pancakes. I have to admit these pancakes were not very good at all. They were fluffy on the inside, but it too a steak knife to cut into them and they ripped. So big thumbs down. I will say though that the portions are large and the servide is friendly. Excellent service and good food every time. Another great thing about this place is that there's actually a lot of seating. I recommend a few things here but I've never had anything bad here. They have delicious salsa they make fresh. Ditch that hot sauce and ask for some salsa. The green is my fave but the red's nummy too. I like their chorizo breakfast burrito a lot. It packs a lot of flavor and there's a good balance going between the ingredients. Another thing I like here is to get a belgian waffle and then get some of that famous chicken on the side. For some reason they don't have CHICKEN AND WAFFLES on the menu but you can order a waffle and you can order chicken and put two-and-two together and have yourself a bit of perfection. I highly recommend doing so. This is my favorite place to get chicken and waffles in RI. I've had it a lot of places but I'm most happy with it here. The service here is so good though, always friendly and always overly attentive. I've never had a bad experience here ever. Good stuff! read more

Mesa is my new go to for breakfast. Been in here a few times and the staff has been friendly, talkative, and professional. Always looking for that perfect omelette and Mesa offers me some choices outside of the staid options on every other menu in the area. I wanted sausage like nothing else the other morning and went immediately for the Mesa omelette with chorizo, Poco de Gallo, and cheese. Perfect. The neighborhood being a favorite of mine in Cranston helps boost it for me as well. read more

There are no words to describe the good service and tasty food. It's such a nice and clean place. I don't usually drink hot beverages but this morning I got so much hot coffee here because I've never tried a coffee as this one in The country . Also, the owner is such a humble, kind and funny person. Thinking of coming to this restaurant whenever I come back to RI. read more

My mom has been raving about this place for weeks ever since her job had a party here. We went today for breakfast and I was very happy with the experience. The hostess/waitress was super friendly and cheery. I order the #1 (eggs, home fries, toast and bacon). Loved it and it was only $3.99! The owner came around to the tables to say good morning to everyone and was very nice. I will definitely be returning, I hear the mexican food is delicious as well. read more

So it's 2am in the morning and I forgot to write a review about this new breakfast spot I discovered in cranston today. I was discussing to a coworker the other night that me and my girlfriend were going out for breakfast Sunday. I told him I was going to cracker barrel but really wanted something diffrent. He has I have been going to mesa grill for a while now, so I ended up googleing it and decided we were going. I have to say that this place was amazaballs. I couldn't decide from the specials so I did the 3eggs special with bacon, home fries and toast with a pancake. My gf had the steak n eggs. Man I was great. This place is nothing special foodwise. I think in general people are much too forgiving when rating breakfast places, because come on, breakfast is easy!! This is definitely a place where I could make better food at home. I was not excited about my breakfast here. I ordered eggs benedict florentine, with spinach and tomatoes, along with Canadian beacons: food quality below average and did not taste good, use frozen spinach and I can still taste the freezer burn, the home fries were greasy and burned on each side, the english muffin was very low quality. overly cooked and low quality food. I made my boyfriend ordered the waffles with fresh fruits, and home fries. After awaiting for more than 30min the waitress informed us " Sorry, we had only one waffles maker" I don't understand why can't she inform us from the beginning. The waffles took foreeeeeeevvvver to come out after 40min later... Took at bit of the pretty looking waffle, it was all soggy on the bottom. " that means it has been setting there for who knows" Yuck! Yuck! Overall disappointing experience; I did not find this place to be cheap nor was I impressed with the quality of food or their cooking.. Poor management in the waiting area, food below average, loud atmosphere....Too bad.. the restaurant's actually kind of cute. I won't go back to Mesa Café & Grill. read more

The service is the reason me and my mother give this restaurant 3 stars instead of two. I am a fan of French toast. So I tend to order it often at restaurants. This should have in theory been delicious. Banana Bread French Toast with real bananas on top and some extra mess on top. The banana bread was store bought and not home made like I somehow expected it to be. It was also very dry. I had chocolate chips put on top but for 1.50 extra they should have piled the chocolate chips and there were maybe 5 on the plate. read more

Love eating here, the food is amazing and everyone is friendly and helpful. It does tend to get busy sometimes, but I am never one to be in a rush when I'm out to breakfast so it doesn't bug me. Can't believe that this place doesn't have a five star rating! The place was very clean and provided the right atmosphere to enjoy a nice breakfast. I mean, if you're one of those who looks for negative reviews to decide if you're going to visit a place here ya go: The staff including the owner were overwhelmingly great. I am from southern California and have been looking for a good Mexican place. Mesa Cafe absolutely meets my needs. I am not a big fan of trying new things - once I find what I like, I stick to it. I typically order off the Mexican specials and I have never had a bad meal. The owner is such a nice man, even bringing a few things for me to try without charging me for them. I bring all of my family members here when they visit and it doesn't matter how long it has been since my last visit, the owner remembers me. read more

We will not eat here again. Took the whole family for breakfast. Maybe breakfast isn't their thing, but whatever. We all ordered basic breakfast foods. Pancakes with bacon, omelette with hash and cheese and potatoes, scrambled eggs with bacon and potatoes, .... The only one of us that thought the food was good was the guy that had a wicked head cold and couldn't taste much. The potatoes were bland and under cooked. The eggs were greasy. The pancakes tasted like batter. The bacon was way over cooked. And don't order more than one plate of pancakes. We had one adult order and two kids orders. The kids pancakes came out about 10 minutes after the rest of the food came out. I asked the waitress if they got burned or something. She said that they only have one section of the grill that's hot enough for pancakes, and that when they get more than one order of pancakes at a time they back up. Come on...a breakfast joint that can only handle one order of pancakes at a time?? Even if that's the case bring the kids' food out first. The service was good. Drinks came on time as everyone was polite. The only reason why they got two stars. read more

I called the front desk and the agent confirmed I was using the right thermostat to control the temp and noted that maintenance would check it. That was fixed as when I returned it was a nice balmy 76! Downside though was the unit did an odd cycling thing with warm air....cold air...warm air. So it never shut off at night and tan the entire time. Their drive way is odd, one way only and Tuesday morning there was a delivery truck blocking the exit. Thankfully no one else was behind us so we were able to back out. The room felt very industrial. Concrete walls and high ceilings, with an almost open concept bathroom. Barn door and the shower was a waterfall (over head) with hand held option thankfully. If you've got curtly hair, you know why a waterfall shower is the worst. And to ere was no shower cap as an option. The shower itself did not go all the way to the ceiling which also meant there was no barrier between you and the room. If share with a partner may not be bad but with friends, that's a nightmare. Other downside was the lock was funky. When leaving for dinner, thank goodness I checked the lock as it did not lock. I had to open the door and mess with it to finally lock. All in all decent hotel however I can't say I'd stay again.

Good local joint. Love the Mexican decor. Owner is very nice. Only been for breakfast. Usually get special or standard eggs, bacon, toast with green sauce. Always a go to place went trying to decide where to go. read more

It had eggs (2), bacon (5 slices), toast (2), home fries, French toast (1), and pancakes (2). The eggs were cooked just how I wanted them, the bacon was cooked to the perfect crispiness and the most slices I have ever gotten at a breakfast place, the toast was a bit over toasted but Harriet's has been forgiven, and the home fries were delicious because of the flavor but also because of the different textures - soft, crunchy, slightly chewy. The French toast was simple but so good, and the pancakes were fluffy and massive. The inside is nice, and lots of natural light coming in. It was decorated with St. Patrick's Day stuff, I appreciated the small details. Our waitress was very attentive and charismatic and did a good job of coming around the perfect amount of times.

I sat at the counter behind Kelly, the woman who I suspect is the owner but was running that grill like a well oiled machine. She works on a 3 ft grill and to do that you have to be organized and fast. She was exactly that. The diner itself is old school, homey, the epitomy of comfort. Tin walls, pictures of family and staff scattered about, and a sign that says "We can't direct the wind, we can adjust the sails" words of wisdom. Regulars come in are greeted by name, and have their custom orders. You can see the lasting impact this place has had on the community. Before long, Kelly herself put my two eggs and sausage plate in front of me. She takes a lot of pride in her work and she should. The potatoes were seasoned well, a good mix of crunchy bits and softer pieces. The eggs were textbook over easy. Couldn't have asked for a better breakfast. I saw a few other items on their menu I want to try, and this diner is a convenient spot between where I live in Johnston and where I work in East Greenwich. I look forward to stopping in again and paying Kelly another visit.

We came in at about 11:10 am as they were probably at about 2/3 capacity the last hour before shutting down for their 2 week vacation period. It took some time to get our breakfast once the order was placed but not an unreasonable amount of time. Plus the atmosphere was relaxing. We sat at the counter as all the booths were full. And I have to admit, eating at the countertop was relaxing. I ordered the JD muffin which is a grilled English muffin with bacon and fried egg for ~$5.95. The outside of the muffin was soft compared to the crisp inside. It was deliciously tasteful with crispy grilled bacon and egg. Much more tasteful than those egg muffins that one can purchase elsewhere at those widespread coffee shops. My partner had a #7 with a side of bacon including 2 eggs scrambled, 2 bacon slices, home fries, 2 pieces of toast and 2 thick tasty plain pancakes of which I had one. I don't usually have plain pancakes but these were very tasty and fluffy. Both of our coffees, hot and iced, came with free refills. We wished the staff a great vacation and left, knowing that this is our new "goto" breakfast restaurant.
