Mesa Verde was a great restaurant to have a nice breakfast before our flight. My colleagues and I were looking for a non-fast food option for breakfast and this fit the bill. Our server was awesome, provided great service and had a cheerful friendly personality. I had the pancakes and bacon. It was a large portion, couldn't finish all of it (but i tried!!). ;) My friend had a skillet dish. Eggs, potatoes and i can't recall what other goodies were in there. I will say though that he truly enjoyed it! We enjoyed our time here, and will definitely be back on our next trip to denver. I was laying over early this morning and wanted a real breakfast. I saw their menu near the escalator on the level below and decided to give it a try. I can't say enough about how good it was. I had the French toast with bacon and eggs over medium. Everything was cooked to perfection. The maple syrup was what prompted me to order French toast for the first time in probably 30 years. It was dusted with powdered sugar and had just the right amount of cinnamon flavor--crispy on the edges and a beautiful soft texture in the center. I honestly don't know how any breakfast establishment makes the conscious decision to not serve maple syrup. Pay the extra money because your customers gladly will. I ordered a side of breakfast potatoes for a very reasonable $2.50 and fruit juice was only $2. That's very reasonable for an airport establishment. I spend more time in this airport other than Austin and Hobby and this place will be a staple going forward. Well done! read more

Great little spot for a great burger. Tucked away in the Denver airport and so worth the visit. Had the Smokey burger, which that BBQ sauce was absolutely delicious. I wanted more so that I could dip everything in it. The staff was nice and friendly. The place was packed and I didn't have to wait long at all. The food came out quickly. I had left overs and the waiter thought I didn't like my food and he was offering me to get something else. I had to explain that I had surgery and couldn't really eat all of it but that everything was amazing. If I'm ever in Denver again I will stop and have this burger again. read more

Story time, dawg: So I'm on my way to Dallas to visit my cousin from india and then rideshare out to the woods to do ayahuasca. My life isn't normally this interesting but what can I say? Sometimes fate makes psychonauts of us all. As Hunter Thompson said "when the going gets weird, the weird turn pro", and fella: if you don't think the going got weird in 2020, well, I'd like to see what kinda hogg yr packing under that denim zip. K so not exactly a morning person, I leave at 4 am for my 6:45 flight on less than two hours of bad sleep and it gets delayed by 7 hours just as I'm most of the way thru a large, horrendously overcreamed Dunkin Donuts coffee. As I circumambulate terminal A, I discover a sparsely populated upstairs area where the truly, hopelessly delayed, resigned to their fate, are napping hard af. Don't let me let you think this is a bad neighborhood though, Jack. It's peaceful as all get out at 6:55 AM and features a gorgeous view of the moving carousel. Long story short, this is the home of Mesa Verde. And once I decided, like my hero Beyonce, to make some f***in' lemonade, I cruised into this spot and encountered the best breakfast skillet I've ever met in a long life of f****in' w/ breakfast skillets. No joke, daddy. This thing made me almost weep with literal relief, alongside a wild sort of happiness. I also heard lively specialist patter from the morning bartender as he described the margaritas. Clearly a point of real pride and an extraordinary thing to encounter at 8 am. Man, lemme tell ya: what an experience. On top of everything, some gracious ( in the heavy Simone Weill sense) combination of sleep deprivation, relief, delicious Old Fashioneds and the beforementioned Manna-like skillet opened my chakras in such a way as to make me more receptive than ever before to the Eagles, who provided about sixty percent of the soundtrack and this has made me feel a level of closeness and understanding with regard to my baby boomer father, the healing consequences of which are yet to be tallied, but which I predict are un-countable. In summary, if yev got more bread than f***s to give at the moment, even by a skinny margin, hit this place up. Sometimes yr ayahuasca ceremony begins long before you hit the malocca. Stay groovy weird kids. PS I haven't mentioned the service, which was fast, kindly, attentive, outstanding. I got to check out Mesa Verde during my recent trip to Colorado. It is located in Terminal A at the Denver International Airport. For those who've ever been to DIA, the airport is huge and there are actually a ton of restaurants to choose from. My coworker and I chose Mesa Verde because we spotted a pretty tasty looking ad on the shuttle ride haha. I would best describe this restaurant with a bit of Mexican fusion They have the traditional burritos, platters with carne asana and carnitas but in addition to this they have items such as chicken tenders, smothered fries and burgers. My coworker and I got housemade salsa flight and hot chips ($4.99) to share. This came with Mesa Verde's three salsas: tomatillo, fire roasted ranchero and salsa Fresca. Their corn tortilla chips were nice and thin. I liked how each salsa has its own distinct tatse. For refills of the salsa, it was an additional $1. For my main entree, I tried their street tacos ($9.99 for a trio combo). I Three corn tortillas were topped with shredded cabbage, salsa Fresca, chipotle aioli and your choice of meat. I tried the carnitas, carne asada and chicken. This came with cilantro rice and black beans. The tacos were ok but could've used a little more flavor. A dash more of chipotle aioli perhaps would've helped. Overall Mesa Verde was a ok stop before our flight. I definitely was full and happy just in time to fly back to LA. read more

The hostess set the tone for our visit. They were rude and inconsiderate. It was close to five or six tables open and they had a strange rule going on in which groups of two could not sit at a four person table even though majority of the people waiting in line were alone. A guy and his service dog and friend asked the same thing about sitting at a four person table that was more suitable for him and his dog and they maintained their stance. After that debacle we were seated. Things started to lighten up. Our service got much better. I ordered a Mesa Verde Cobb salad and a coin margarita. Both items were amazing. My experience started well here but ended poorly. After clearing security at the DEN airport, I was looking for a big breakfast. Mesa Verde ( I keep thing of "Better Call Saul" every time I see that name) looked like a good option. My server was very friendly and helpful with finding a GF option on the menu. My food arrived quickly and was tasty and satisfying. Here is where my experience turned. My server never checked back with me to see if I needed anything. As it turns out, I wanted my water refilled. But because my server went AWOL, I finished the meal with no water. I finally flagged down another server and asked him to get my server, who I could see talking with a group of servers at the bar. When my server arrived, she asked how was everything and I told her not good as I wanted my water refilled "during" my meal. Her response to me was, " That's nothing to get upset over". WRONG answer. All she had to say was, " I'm sorry & I will get some immediately. Instead she determined that my opinion over the lack of water wasn't important. Average Mexican food with other options like burgers served by slightly overworked staff. We got the guacamole and chips. The chips came crushed to crumbles. Seemed like somebody sat on the. The guacamole is alright. We did tell our waitress and she seemed a bit annoyed but did replace our chips that were much more intact. I had the pollo with a cheese and black beans. There was too much cheese for my preference. It was basically all I could taste. The chicken was kind of bland and boring. But it wasn't bad overall. Sat down and the sever was also rude asked for water she never brought it had to ask again. Absolutely delicious. I googled "best Mexican restaurant at Denver airport" and this one came up. I ordered the nachos with chicken and was so pleasantly surprised. When I first saw it was shredded chicken I was a little disappointed because shredded chicken is usually pretty dry, but this was flavorful and tender. The nachos could have used a little more sour cream drizzle and tortilla chips but that's an easy fix. The tortilla chips even seemed toasted a little. Such a nice touch. I even went late in the day, around 8:30 pm, less than an hour from last call and the entire staff was still working so hard to serve everyone. With it being so late the ambiance was pretty quiet having mostly delayed passengers. And as it is with anything, people make all the difference. I was waited on by John who was an absolute delight. He gave great advice when it came to the menu and was such a wonderful person to experience. Highly recommend if you have the time. read more

And yet. And yet. And yet. You really should eat here. Trust me, if you find yourself in this terminal there is nowhere else worth going besides Mesa Verde. The food isn't half bad - of course only judging by airport standards. I mean, it sure beats the vending machine, amirite!? My chicken chimichanga was served rather like a fancy dish. That's fine. It tasted fine. The odd thing is I really wanted more tortilla. Sounds weird. But this thing tasted like a fried egg roll the size of your hand. Way to thin and filmy for a chimichanga tortilla. But hey you can live with that if you need to eat before your flight. If you even make your flight. Slow poke server over here doesn't come around to take orders or serve drinks or check on plates except for random 12 minute intervals. Better have a long layover. read more

Pretty good for an airport restaurant. I had the chicken tacos, which comes with three small tacos - not great if you are starving, but was perfect for what I wanted. Were they the best most authentic tacos ever? No, but they were tasty and hit the spot. Service left something to be desired - we asked for cream for coffee 3 to 4 times to multiple different people and by the time it came out we were done eating. It also took forever to get our bill and I had to bring it up to the waiter because he never came back to get it. My experience was much different from the others. Maybe it was an off day? The service was horribly slow. We were there for over an hour. Luckily our flight was not scheduled to board for another 20 mins. The server had to be reminded thrice to bring out silverware and napkins. They weren't really busy and had plenty of open tables. Maybe they were short handed? The buffalo queso dip was tasty but looked like it was sitting out for a while as there was a thick film on top. The food was mediocre at best the street tacos were only ok. Not flavorful. The Ceviche was missing onions and cilantro (but listed in menu). It also way had too many jalapeños. The Carne asada was cooked to the right temp but was charred. We asked for sour cream, a side of salsa and limes, all which were added to the bill but never brought out. Mesa Verde has long been a favorite stop in airports for a tasty meal. The last time I was here was returning from my interview in KS to Vegas thanks to Frontier Airlines. Since that was almost 2 years ago (and I remember having the ceviche), I decided to go back today when my flight out of Denver was delayed for a delicious lunch. I sat at the bar in front of a TV showing ESPNU, next to a nice guy who bragged about his daughter who was about to go to college. I ordered the salsa flight (fresh chips with 3 salsas: tomatillo-mild, pico-mild, and ranchero-spicy). I also ordered the Colorado wedge salad without bacon. I used to grab this salad to go from their express area and it was memorable! First it came out with bacon but the bartender quickly took it back and got me a fresh one. The wedge has roasted corn, chopped hard boiled egg, diced fresh tomato, queso fresco, and ranch dressing. It is served on top of a bed of fried onions. It really is scrumptious for a salad (and obviously not too healthy). At any rate, it filled me up for the rest of the day and I did not need dinner. This is a great spot to eat in Terminal A and also to watch sports. It is one floor above the food court/shops/gates so take the escalator up from there. This places us a delightful hidden semi quiet place located on the mezzanine in Terminal A. I had time and wanted a non rushed sit down dinner. Service was phenomenal (10am ish local time on a Wed) and the good was excellent. Prices are very reasonable especially in an airport. I got the chicken chimichanga which was huge! What can I say.. Sometimes you are already sitting at the bar ordering food and drinks when you get that dreaded text or email that says... Your going to be staying at this airport longer then intended! Yep.. Here we go again! Delays, Delays, Delays! Good thing I already ordered a Tecate, some chips and guac and a vegan burrito! The burrito was great! Really packed a punch and if you are only eating one meal while traveling.. This would be a good choice, it's big, affordable, and was quite good! The chips on the other hand seemed like they were the scrapes from the bottom of the bag, pretty broken up into small piece made it hard for dipping in my guac! But they still tasted good! No biggie. I saw a friend from Des Moines who was also stranded, met a girl who was going to an EDM festival, and met a guy from Sweden... we were all heading to Des Moines! So we hung out, had some more beers, complained about flying and then magically our flight was almost ready to leave! We parted ways with Mesa Verde and I had to admit.. My time here was ok.. I ate at Mesa Verde before leaving Denver to fly home. The restaurant is kind of hidden, but it is a gem! The customer service here was great! I tried a flight of whiskey for (three tastes) for $15 and had the carnitas tacos for $10.25. I always enjoy trying various drinks/food, so I asked for the waiter's top three whiskeys and he did not disappoint! They were all very good and each one was unique. Now mixing this with tacos before a flight probably wasn't the best idea, but they kept refilling my water so it worked out! Haha The carnitas tacos were very small. The meal came with three of them, rice and black beans (spicy!). It didn't quite fill me up all the way, but I still enjoyed the tacos a lot. Next time I am in Denver I think I will try something else on the menu, but if you are looking for something light - this is a great option! Sorry, just no excuse for poor food quality. Ordered a chicken burrito (two) and the chicken came out a greyish color. The chicken is hard to find as the burritos are stuffed with low quality rice. Topped with Green chili, Colorado might throw this gross chili out. Also to add to it, no one ever checked in to see how our food or dinner was going... Now I know it is different times, places are busy and understaffed...however...you just an can't dismiss food that bad... Also ordered the guacamole...it was ok...and chicken strips with fries for the kiddo...fries were cold and the chicken was just fry stuff... Horrible waitress who scammed us by overcharging drinks. She asks if you want receipts in a sly manner. Thankfully I texted receipt and saw the overcharge when we had some time between flights. Went back to restaurant and she voided charge with tips. Took away drinks we did not order and issued new receipt but she did not process with credit card. Her apologies were not sincere. Our waitress came quickly and was very helpful when deciding what to order. I opted for the special, the Chicken Chimichanga (per the waitress' recommendation) while my husband had a burrito.
