I'm not a huge taco fan primarily in that they tend to be super messy... thus the wonderful name of this taco truck. The website gives the days and locations you can find if, usually in the Loomis area. With that, I will say that these tacos are well prepared and super delicious. I had one with carnitas and another with carne asada. Both were equally good. They use soft tortillas, doubled up, which will help keep it all together. There are finely chopped toppings, which add to the flavor and texture. The mixture is perfect, although at the finish point, it does get a bit sloppy and messy! The only downside is I found the two tacos to be very greasy. It came with chips, nicely toasted, and both a green and red salsa sauce, very savory and just right in consistency and heat for my taste. I also got two chorizo. They were slightly warmed with a filling that were spot on delicious. They have to be the best I've ever had with a wonderful dusting of cinnamon. Messy's is what every small independent eatery should be! First, it's a small little eatery (the old fashioned walk up to the sliding window to order your food) that reminds me of the of the Old hamburger stands back in the 70's when I was a kid. I love that! The menu has a few appetizer items, tacos, burritos, and a few desserts. Their menu is pretty straight forward...a list of meats (or veggie) and a price next to it depending on whether you want a taco, bowl, or burrito. They also have a few different "special" tacos like their Korean beef and award winning pork belly tacos. I ordered the Korean taco and the carne asada tacos, chips and cheese sauce. OMG!!! The Korean taco is extremely flavorful! The first bite is a punch of flavor and the juicy, Korean marinated beef , with the subtle sesame oil that's in the marinade on the purple cabbage, compliments each so well!! Most places use way too much sesame oil which can be very overpowering, but these guys got it right. The carne Asada taco was totally amazing as well and I loved the flavors going on in The marinade, too! Both tacos were loaded with juicy, moist, Uber tender steak. The best carne asada and Korean tacos I've had in my life! The chips were warm, thin (to me the best way), and I'm pretty sure they just fried them up as soon as I ordered! The cheese sauce is bomb, too! I love the patio...very comfortable, adorably decorated, and they have misters running for the hot season, and ceiling fans under the big covered patio area. Even in the coldest months, I can't imagine not eating there under the patio, since there is no indoor seating and I'm guessing they have outdoor heaters for keeping you comfortable. I may note that There is also no indoor restroom, but there is a outdoor restroom (ports potty?) and hand washing station, so if you don't like using those, I'd suggest going to the restroom at home before coming here. Around the holiday season, I help plan an event for about 250 field employees, the struggle is... it's an early morning event starting at 5:45/6am. We booked Messy's for breakfast burritos and they had 3 options. Messy's was impressively prepared, delicious and efficient. Communication was great and service was friendly even early in the morning! Pricing was competitive and everything was straightforward. We received a few other quotes from local companies that I'm sure are delicious, but Messy's was professional with communication and invoice structure making the booking process seamless and assuring. Messy's Taco has been on my radar for about a month now and I finally came here on New Year's Eve. They are a really small place, almost like a little shack but it's cute. It totally seems like the type of restaurant that the whole city knows about and loves and is a must for visitors to try. Also the reviews are really good so worth a try. After taking a small gander over the menu and trying to remember what some of the items looked like according to Yelp I ordered the Cheeseburger Taco, Korean Taco and made it a meal with rice, beans and a soda. While waiting I kinda just checked out their outdoor seating which is a little covered and each table has a set of heaters (it was so cold outside) and then I was admiring the view of the trees. I definitely would have eaten outside if it was a tad bit warmer. The wait for the food wasn't bad and I think the tacos are made/cooked to order. The takeout presentation was wonderful, the food was placed neatly in the plastic container. And to my surprise the meal came with chips, I was kicking myself for not ordering a side of guacamole to go with it. The Cheeseburger Taco came wrapped in a flour tortilla with seasoned ground beef, queso, onions, lettuce and topped with fries. This taco was really good and very flavorful, I loved the crispy fries on top and those were seasoned perfectly as well. It's one of the best and most flavorful ground beef tacos that I've had. The Korean Taco came wrapped in a corn tortilla with Korean beef, red cabbage slaw, sriracha aioli and sesame seeds. This was definitely my favorite of the two tacos. The Korean beef was marinated great, cooked perfectly and was tender. I loved the addition of the red cabbage slaw because it really added to the flavor and helped cool down the spiciness of that sriracha aioli. Tons of flavor all the way around but next time I may ask them to go easy on the aioli because it was really spicy or maybe I'm just a baby when it comes to spicy food lol. The rice and beans were really good and fresh, the rice was quite flavorful and moist. The chips were were yummy too, they were super crispy and had a nice seasoning on them. Overall this place was really good and I can't wait to go back to try more of their items and I'm hoping my next visit they'll have those cheesy churros that I've seen tons of people rave about. I was at a brewery and this was the food truck that was there. There were three options on the menu- chicken, pork belly, and carne asada. Well two, because they ran out of the carne asada. I got one of each of the chicken and pork belly. The chicken was average to me, but I enjoyed the pork belly. The sauce on top of the pork belly went well with the meat. The chips that came with the tacos were thin, and I prefer thicker ones. I wanted to order another pork belly taco, but they ran out of that too afterwards. Yum!! So this is a little place that serves some really excellent and high quality food! While it might look like a place you would choose to drive by, that would be a mistake. I decided to try this place because I was looking for a place that serves food fast but not a fast food chain plus this place had very good ratings on Yelp. I decided on the crunchy shelled tacos. I ordered one carnitas taco and one chicken taco. The taco shells were seasoned with a Mexican seasoning. It came with chips also with the same seasoning. Best decision of our life. We spoke to the manager Lionel and asked what was good. He recommended the pork belly taco and Carnitas burrito. Two of the best things I've ever eaten. Sorry no picture of the pork belly taco because I ate it too quick. I have attached a picture of the Carnitas burrito. They marinate their Carnitas for 12 hours overnight. Everything is made in house including the amazing salsa's and seasoned chips They even had had a super hot dragons breath very tasty salsa. I came here after reading over the reviews and the specials, excited they have pork belly tacos, and Korean style tacos won me over. I knew I had to try the pork belly taco, and it was worth every bite. It is filled with slow-cooked dry-rubbed pork belly, topped with jicama, mango, and carrot slaw and witched with mustard aioli and cilantro all wrapped into a flour tortilla. This is a must-try taco if you stop in get this special. The other was the Korean beef taco, which was also very amazing, and this is filled with Korean beef topped with red cabbage slaw, cilantro, sesame seeds, and a sriracha aioli all wrapped in a corn tortilla. Both of them come with a side of very delicious chips; if you come definitely try these two tacos, you will not be disappointed. I also had the median street corn bites - yummy these are battered corn kernels in a cheese sauce and serviced with a cheese sauce so delicious. My boyfriend ordered some take-out from Messy's a couple of nights ago, and I must say I LOVE their porky belly tacos. I love their mixture of carrots, daikon, and mango that served as garnish for the pork belly taco. Pork belly melted in my mouth. We also ordered the beef quesadilla. I liked that the beef was a beautiful brown color. I liked that the chunks of meat were a bit charred and had flavor. Bland meat is a turn off for me, but I'm glad that they took the time to make sure the meat was presentable. Messy's definitely likes to maintain a fresh, colorful presentation. This is an easy review to write. There is not one single thing from Messy's that I have not enjoyed. From their breakfast burritos to every single thing on their menu that I have sampled for lunch has been outstanding. I have been lucky enough to be invited to private parties where they have catered and I'm pretty sure that I never left the food table until they were packing up and going home. Best veggie burrito I've had in a long time. It says Messy's but it is not. The neatest burrito I've had and they don't throw in some veggies, beans and rice and call it a veggie. They have a little savoir faire about their food. They use potato in the burrito and not just regular potatoes, they use sweet potatoes. Gives me a reason to go to Loomis, Ca. So much deliciousness at such a simple location! I would not call this authentic Mexican food, but man it's delicious! Food - we have tried 5 street tacos. The pork belly might be one of the most delicious (and far from traditional) tacos I have ever had. Gone is Taylor's and in is Messy's, so says the new green side that sits above this tiny little hut by the side of the road. New to the mix is a nice outdoor area of benches and heat lamps that branches off to the left; covered by a tent-like room. The twin ordering windows still sit flanking a large menu, but with a focus on Mexican dishes like tacos, burritos, sopes, and churros. I ordered a carne asada burrito and a filled churro for the end. The burrito came wrapped in a cozy foil blanket, but the inside's stuffed with spice-seasoned meat (like colorful/aromatic paprika), rice, flavorful black beans, and a refreshing pico. It wasn't a half-bad burrito even if just a bit dry meat-wise. The churro came piping hot, but after a good cool-down I got a great bite of crunchy, cinnamon-y, caramel-filled delight.
