Very authentic, amazing food for a great price! This is my new go-to comfort foods spot and its all within budget. You don't have to spend a lot to get authenticity and man I was hella craving some REAL pupusas and frijoles. Metapan? SAY LESS. Literally a few blocks from my place. I ordered to go when I got there and it maybe took 10 minutes or less. Yesterday my grandma went to this place to buy some pupusas, she ordered 3 pupusas but waited a long time just for 3 pupusas and worst of all her pupusas were cold. Apparently they had taken out her order a long time ago, but they didn't tell her anything. She got upset and ask the owner why they had not told her that her pupusas were ready, because she was sitting there waiting for them but the owner did not say anything and did not say anything to the person who took the order to my grandma too. read more

I went to try the plantains that we're so praised on yelp but was so disappointed by the whole experience. First, I was assured the quantity was more than adequate for a good meal. It wasn't as you see in the pic...Second and most important, the taste was very ordinary... Nothing unusual in fact some pieces of plantains we're sub par... Third but not least, the price compared to the quantity didn't feel right and I left feeling ripped-off. I was charged $ 8.95 for an order of plantains!!! Absolutely declicious authentic Salvadorean cuisine. My personal favorites are the Mariscada soup and Pupusas de queso con loroco. I read some of the complaints re wait times. Folks, this is not Mcdonalds or even Dennys where food comes from a freezer or can. Call ahead and place your order if you are in a rush. If you haven't had Salvadorean food before, this is the spot. Service- The waitresses are not friendly and don't even smile. Almost like they are doing you a favor. Even though I am a reason they get a paycheck. They almost have a b!#*-y attitude. Food- Bland. The masa for the pupusas doesn't have any flavor. The pupusas don't have enough filling and fall apart. The pastelitos are more oil than anything. The beans are super runny. The Ensalada (drink) is good and just right. The platanos are the exception. They are almost perfect, Central American style :) Ambiance- This place gives me the hibby jeebies. You see a lot of men here. Makes you wonder what else is going on. The clientele at this restaurant does not go there because it has good food. Not terrible overall. Pupusas was what I was there for. They were a little light on flavor and heavy on the bread. Thankfully they weren't soaked in grease like most of the places. I will probably come back to try a couple other flavors at some point but that is it. The buffet was nothing to write home about either. But that is how most buffets go.
