Avoid this place, they forget about your order and they won't even apologize, then the water goes away and never comes back as if it's your fault ?? All my friends were done eating I asked for my food 2 times. It was just beans and plantains.

Do you want to feel like you're in El Salvador?! Well, come to Metapan! Service is great, and yes, the best pupusas in town! I posted pictures in IG and everyone thought I was in El Salvador lol . The ambience is pretty cool, with staff that welcomes you as if you were a regular. Of course, I came because they have my favorite beer, Regias! Served with a side of cucumbers and orange wedges!

Pupusas, salpicón, caldo de res, empanadas de carne!!!

Metapan has been on my list of places I haven't tried yet for a while. My wife and I passed by several times waiting for the chance to stop by. Tonight we had that chance. I would love to say that the visit was without issues. Our meal began with slices of oranges and cucumber seasoned with tajin. Which is one of my favorite snacks so I was looking forward to what was to come. I ordered a size of chicharron because it is one of my favorite foods in existence, I loved it. It was hot and tender as well as seasoned perfectly. I also ordered tamal de elote with beans and crema. I was surprised to see that they came with pinto beans instead of black beans but they were good as was the crema. Half way through the tamales they were ice cold. So I moved on from them to the Chicharron pupusas I ordered and I enjoyed those. Our server was friendly and welcoming for a large percentage of the meal, however when my wife found out the drink she ordered was out , she asked for a glass of water which never came. So my feelings here are mixed and I want to give a great review. I can only say it was good but sadly not good enough for us to return.

Tasty pupusas and I appreciate that i can order on the phone ahead of time. They gave me enough curtido and salsa for my food.

i honestly loved this place for a while now. but today i can't even understand how this happened. there was a literal cockroach COOKED into my pupusa. not just there cooked into it . i can't even believe the amount of bugs there has to be to have one cooked into my pupusa. i loved this place but i can never trust it again. First, the staff are all so kind and welcoming. You feel like you are having dinner in someone's living room. It is so beautiful and cozy and warm. Perfect for a date night! We came on a Wednesday night and had a reservation and got in right away. We shared everything family-style. Note, the portions are small but the food is delicious and for the price it is right on. Next time, may order two of one dish. We got the cucumber herb salad, the potatoes gravas, the elote corn, the flank steak, and the summer margarita pizza. All were fantastic. Next time, we'll get more than one pizza and may skip the flank steak. For dessert we had the cookie with gelato (gelato is SO GOOD) and the pop tart. You must get the pop tart!!!!! It is sooooo good and so unique. Overall, we can't wait to return and take pictures next time!

The scallop aguachiles were incredibly fresh, bright, and beautifully balanced. The chicken wings were perfectly crispy with amazing flavor, and the branzino was cooked to perfection--tender, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. Our server was professional, attentive, and knowledgeable, making the entire dining experience even more enjoyable. We were also excited to see the new wine list, which offers some excellent selections and pairs beautifully with the menu. Hearth has consistently delivered exceptional food, service, and atmosphere over the years. I decided to go with here to taste a different part of the world. The dish I selected, is the Banda Paisano Trifeca which is a macro and micronutrient bomb of delicious vegetables, starches, and protein. Apparently many with very hard physically demanding jobs need a "strong meal," and within Columbian Culture this dish was formed. Beautiful story, AND it has blood sausage!!! Flavor was spot on as usual. Things I did not enjoy this time: 1. I was charged for 2 chorizos when I had only ordered 1. (Always ask for printed invoice and check before leaving). 2. I was charged $6 for a chorizo that was as long as my thumb. In the past their chorizos were much bigger and cheaper. (Do not order chorizos a la carte). 3. The meat in my "bandeja paisa" was ver fatty. Maybe my negative experience had to do with the fact that the restaurant was about to close.

It's been around for over 20 years and is currently in a newer space than it was before; featuring more parking and a larger space. Ambiance: The interior has a relaxed feel with beachy surfer themed decor. It has a clean modern feel with a bunch of tables featuring accent colored chairs. There is music in the background and a TV on the wall featuring surfing videos. Service: You order at the counter, they ring you up and you get the food brought out. You can see the kitchen as it's open. It was my first time and it was a simple and easy experience. Everything came out in a timely fashion. Food: Some of their specialities include the 20+variations of fried empanadas (meats, chicken, pork, veggie, dessert) that come in both savory and sweet types, as well as their speciality plates such as their Korean-style flat iron steak skewers and chicken satay. The sauces they serve with their empanadas are incredible and some of the best I've ever had such as their chimmi-churri, basil-aioli and sweet & sour Thai. I recently did the lunch combo featuring a choice of a 1/2 salad or 1/2 fries, choice of any two empanadas and a canned drink. I chose beef and Kailua pig empanadas; both were great, empanadas didn't break apart and were crispy, everything was seasoned well; the filling of the beef was a bit more than the Kailua pig however. Drinks: They have various drinks such as lemonade, juices, sodas/soft drinks, and some beers on tap. Parking: The lot is large and has ample parking depending on the day and time. Prices: Prices are to the times that we're in...so not too great. Ala carte empanadas are $5+ but as you order more (4, 12) the prices come down a slight bit.

Scallop aguachile - wowwww the scallops were so fresh, literally bursting is my mouth. They were sweet, tender, and perfectly paired with the tangy lime sauce. Taco de pulpo - ok so this is pretty much an assembled pulpo à la brasas, BUT I will say the full meal was more tender because it was an entire grilled piece of grilled vs one tentacle.
