    Wine pairing that was served.
    Ryan L.

Ambience left me speechless: stunning dishware, cohesive decor, a handwritten card for the special occasion, and burnt sage(?) contributed to an environment that makes good food taste even better. You can tell the establishment dedicated significant effort towards research of food pairings, complimentary textures, and quality ingredients. Staff were friendly, observant, and accommodating. Some gripes: we were seated and neither provided with menus, towelettes, nor water for about 10-15 minutes; we also ordered the juice pairings for $65, but they were served out of order, affecting the dishes' taste profiles. The establishment accommodated by giving us 4 glasses of juice (2 of the juice that was missed, 2 more of the juice we had already drank). Paid $65 for the juice pairings, but they came out of order. The dish before the entrée came with the juice intended for the entrée (which means a dish highlighting corn was accompanied by more corn juice--corn overload); upon realizing the issue, staff attempted to remediate by providing both the missed juice and the juice we had already drank during the entrée. However, this meant we did not have the opportunity to try the corn dish with its intended juice pairing. We also had to drink the juice intended for the entrée twice (much corn). There was no further reimbursement, despite the detriment towards the experience, especially as it was my partner's birthday. Other restaurants have been far more apologetic for far smaller issues, providing a fair and reasonable compromise; not to say that should be the norm, but I expected better from a Michelin-starred establishment.

Grilled avocado & crispy sourdough supplement - Meteora - June 2026
    Krista M.

I legit love good eats... who doesn't? So being able to dine at a Michelin-starred restaurant is basically a dream come true. After working hard all school year, I decided to treat myself to a solo "treat yo'self" dinner and Meteora seemed like the perfect place to celebrate. After surviving the drive to Hollywood and tracking down parking, I discovered the restaurant's unique, nest-like entrance. I was busy admiring it and snapping a few photos when the "nest" suddenly opened thanks to the door attendant. I won't lie - I jumped a little but only a little. From there, I was whisked away to my table for one and immediately fell in love with the atmosphere. This is my kind of place. Meteora is earthy, immersive, and basically alive! The architecture, greenery, scents, lighting, and open-fire kitchen all work together to create an experience unlike any restaurant I've been to before. It's a place where the ambiance is just as memorable as the food. I started with The Splash, the complimentary house cocktail, which was a lovely way to kick off the evening. I opted for the four-course tasting menu and added the Criollo avocado supplement. Before I even took my first bite, I found myself admiring each plate before I reluctantly picked up my fork. Every dish belonged in an art gallery. The avocado with crispy sourdough and cured lardo was good, though honestly it ended up being my least favorite course of the evening. The four-course tasting menu included: -Honey-grilled diver scallops with roasted fiddlehead fern, grilled collard greens, and burnt onion -Heirloom corn with squash blossom, Urfa chili fudge, and sea buckthorn -14-day dry-aged White Pekin duck with caramelized lettuce, pumpkin seed cream, and charred habanero jus -Hearth-roasted pineapple with tonka bean, Brazil nuts, and burnt wheat Surprisingly, the heirloom corn stole the show for me. I never would've guessed a corn dish would end up being my favorite, but every bite was incredible. The scallops were a very close second. The duck was also excellent as it was beautifully cooked, tender, and practically melt-in-your-mouth. The hearth-roasted pineapple was a creative and delicious finish to the meal. For drinks, I also ordered the Desert Mango cocktail (pisco, rum, passion fruit, orange blossom... yes, please) and finished the evening with an espresso martini that was honestly to die for. It arrived just after dessert, so the staff also brought out a small fruit course featuring chilled melon with spices, which was a thoughtful touch and paired well with the espresso martini (my favorite). Service was exceptional from start to finish. I wish I remembered the name of my primary server because her introduction to the restaurant was practically theater. Throughout the evening, multiple staff members presented dishes, explained ingredients, refreshed drinks, and checked in without ever feeling intrusive. It was polished, warm, and relaxing. The only reason I'm stopping short of five stars? While everything was undeniably excellent, not every course completely wowed me from a flavor standpoint the way the atmosphere did. Some dishes impressed me more for their creativity and presentation than for their taste. That's obviously subjective, but at this price point (about $240 after tax and tip - including LA's 4% "Healthy LA" surcharge), I left wanting just one or two more "I can't stop thinking about this" bites. That said, Meteora definitely delivered a memorable dining experience. If you appreciate thoughtful cooking, seasonal California ingredients, live-fire techniques, and restaurants that engage ALL of your senses, this is a place worth experiencing at least once. I'm really glad I chose it to celebrate the end of another school year.

    Complimentary bread with butter

Meteora is a 1 star Michelin restaurant, so the ambiance, service, and presentation were excellent! We made a reservation for a group dinner. Since my husband and I recently got married, our friends mentioned this in the reservation, and the restaurant created a menu that said congrats to us, so that was a nice, personal touch. They also lit this nut on fire which signaled long- lasting love or something like that lol We got the 6-course tasting menu for $195 each and we tried the additional avocado/sourdough bread for the $18 supplement. We were also given a complimentary appetizer of bread and butter and a complimentary melon dessert. This is what we tried for the tasting menu: 1. Sungold tomatoes with hemp seed tofu, nectarine, chatted scallion, chamomile - 5/5 stars. This was a group favorite! The tomatoes had a wonderful roasted taste, and all the flavors blended so well together! 2. Pacific black cod with roasted fiddlehead fern, grilled collard green, burnt onion - 4.5/5 stars. The cod was personally my fave dish of the night! I also enjoyed trying fern for the first time! But the other veggies were too salty 3. Heirloom corn with squash blossom, urfa chili fudge, sea buckthorn - 4/5 stars. Strong corn flavor and tasted like a tamale. Didn't blow my mind personally 4. 7-day dry aged white pekin duck with caramelized lettuce, pumpkin seed cream, and charred habanero jus - 3.5/5 stars. The duck was on the chewy side, but still pretty good, and the pumpkin seed cream/habanero jus added a strong flavor. The lettuce was way too salty 5. Tigernut custard with red mango, allspice, and apricot- 3/5 stars. I personally didn't enjoy this. Too sour for my liking 6. Hearth-roasted pineapple with tonka bean, Brazil nuts, burnt wheat - 5/5. Cool presentation and loved the flavors. The texture of the bottom was like the crust of a pie Other notes: the avocado/sourdough appetizer was meh. The sourdough was too doughy and fried, and the avocado had nice flavors, but not worth $18 extra. Overall, enjoyed our experience here!

Came here to celebrate our daughter's 21st birthday as she had been wanting to come for a while. Upon walking in to the restaurant we all smelled something a little strange. Not good. So not sure if that's the norm. Our reservation was at 7:15, however, they told us our table wasn't ready. So we had to wait about 20 minutes. Like I said, the atmosphere was beautiful, but the food was just OK and incredibly overpriced for what you're getting it it's a good place to try out if you haven't, but it's not a place. I would return to anytime soon.

Agree with others regarding the atmosphere, very *Tulum* vibes. I loved sitting at our table as the seats were comfortable, the table was roomy without seeming overly big, and overall the setting was aesthetically pleasing. The entire restaurant was otherworldly and each table felt like your own cozy space in the vast jungle. Their dedication to the theme was impressive and extended to less-utilized spaces including the bathrooms and hallways. Food was interesting, innovative, and most importantly, tasty! Despite some of the dishes being "deconstructed" in nature and "not much to look at" lol, all were well-balanced and enjoyable. There was an element of surprise in many of the dishes, which I always appreciate. These special touches make this restaurant truly deserving of their Michelin star (in my opinion...and I cannot say the same for several of LA's starred restaurants...). Although the wine list was extensive, as expected, I liked having a variety of creative non-alcoholic drinks as well. Service was warm and attentive. This was overall a high-effort restaurant in many respects, and their efforts paid off. Will definitely be back!

I had an amazing anniversary dinner at Meteora, a Michelin-starred restaurant. I didn't do much research beforehand, wanting it to be a surprise. The food was incredible, with 4 or 6 courses, including options to supplement. The ambiance, food presentation, ingredients, and service were all top-notch. Parking was easy, with street parking (read the signs) or valet service available behind the restaurant. I highly recommend Meteora to anyone looking for a memorable dining experience!

We visited Meteora for my birthday and had an 8pm reservation. There's valet parking behind the restaurant and the entrance honestly looks like a giant bird's nest. The moment you walk in the restaurant is stunning. The ambiance is dark, elegant, and unlike anything else I've seen in LA. Even the bathrooms were beautifully designed. We opted for the 6-course tasting menu. The meal started with complimentary sourdough, butter, and honey. When the bread was first dropped off, our server noticed the honey was missing and brought it out right away. I appreciated that they caught the mistake immediately, but at a Michelin-starred restaurant I expect every plate to leave the kitchen exactly as intended. The sourdough was crispy all the way through which made it feel a little dry. I wish there was more contrast between the crust and the inside. The butter was smooth and almost cheese-like, and the honey paired nicely with it. The scallop course was beautifully presented. The scallop itself was super fresh and packed with umami while the nectarine added a nice balance. The shaved "seawater" served alongside it honestly just tasted like salt. The black cod had perfectly crispy skin and the greens paired really well with it. My issue was that the sauce was pretty salty while the fish itself felt under-seasoned so the dish ended up relying on the sauce for flavor. The heirloom corn had a great corn flavor but once again the component underneath the squash blossom was salty. The sweet puree helped balance it out but not enough. For the main course, we chose the dry-aged duck. The cook on the duck was beautiful with a perfect pink center but I wish the skin was crispier. The charred lettuce helped cut through the richness and the green peppercorn added a nice kick. Unfortunately, the sauce was also on the salty side. The tigernut custard had a nice warmth from the cinnamon. For my birthday they brought out burning stones which was a cool presentation, but I was honestly hoping for something a little more special. The final dessert was a tableside-cut roasted pineapple. It was sweet, but nothing particularly memorable. The meal ended with melon seasoned with salt and pepper which also felt pretty underwhelming. Personally, I thought 2 dessert courses felt a bit excessive especially since neither was particularly memorable. I would've preferred another savory course instead. By the end of the meal, our server asked what our favorite dish was and we actually pondered about it for a minute. For a tasting menu at this price point, I usually expect at least one course that immediately stands out or leaves a lasting impression. While there were dishes I enjoyed, none of them really had that wow factor for me. The service was good but not exceptional. After the bread course, we asked for additional towels to clean our hands but the request was forgotten. I had really high expectations for Meteora and left feeling disappointed. The restaurant is visually stunning and I can definitely see the vision behind the menu. Unfortunately, the execution didn't match the creativity. Too many dishes leaned salty and several courses felt unbalanced. Overall, it was a beautiful experience, but for the price I expected a lot more finesse and flavor.

While the food, drinks and ambiance were very good (the design of the restaurant is stunning), the service was not; certainly nowhere near what should be expected of a restaurant at this level. It was poor enough to detract quite significantly from what would have been a wonderful evening. From the beginning, everything felt rushed. A cocktail menu was not offered until requested. We were asked if we were ready to order several times over the course of ten minutes. When we did order, the first course arrived a few minutes later--before both the cocktails we ordered and the wine pairing for it. (The server realized his mistake and comped the cocktails). Unfortunately, the service flaws continued. A dish was presented to us as "Pacific black cod, caught off the coast of Massachusetts." When we inquired for further details on multiple dishes, answers were not known. Wine pairing pours were very small--one to two ounces at best. At the conclusion of the meal, after dinner drinks or coffee were not offered and a payment terminal was shoved in our faces along with "does everything look correct?" from a server. I understand presenting a payment terminal is the new normal at a lot of restaurants, but it was presented to both of us in a forceful manner with no tact. Hopefully the service improves, because the rest of the experience is wonderful. Unless it does improve though, I cannot recommend dining here and am baffled as to how they received a star.

5 stars all the way. The restaurant is SO GORGEOUS The staff is incredibly attentive The food was amazing ! I highly recommend! We will be coming back soon for sure . It's been a long time since our meal was worth the heavy price tag of dining out now a day. This was totally worth it , and our server Sahara was amazing !

Most of the dishes were amazingly flavored, all were very unique. My favorites from this summer were the roasted pineapple dessert, followed by the peking duck main. I had a personal indifference to the first couple courses, so I'm giving 4/5. The restaurant is beautiful, the service is fast, but once the servers realized I was a table for 1 ordering 0 of the expensive pairing drinks, I noticed significantly less interest and follow up throughout the night. Still, the set menu was enjoyable at a relatively reasonable price for a michelin star restaurant. I'm glad I went, but probably won't be back soon. Thanks!

Super fresh and avant-garde. The atmosphere is incredibly unique and visually striking. 10/10 for the experience. Visuals were stunning but the flavors didn't quite live up to the hype. Smoked Oysters: Absolute highlight. Deep, smoky and delicious. Duck Breast: A bit disappointing. The cook was slightly off. A visually captivating experience but the taste was a bit hit-or-miss for the price. Great for the "avant-garde" vibe but lacked that extra punch in flavor.

Meteora was an amazing experience. Walking into the restaurant was like being transported to another place. We completely forgot that we were in the middle of bustling Los Angeles. The interior was calm and peaceful and beautifully decorated. Service was friendly and what you would expect from a Michelin caliber restaurant. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. They also had a very cool non-alcoholic drink pairing, which you don't always find. We loved every second of it and will definitely be back again. Celebrated my birthday at Meteora, and it was definitely a memorable experience. We made a reservation and were seated right away in the main dining room. The vibe and décor are very unique and immersive, which made the whole evening feel special. For the course meal, we had the Crudo of Mt. Lassen Steelhead, Pacific Black Cod, Embered Murasaki Yam, 14-Day Dry-Aged White Pekin Duck, and Hearth Roasted Pineapple. We also added the Black Winter Truffle "Risotto." I opted for the wine pairing with my meal. We started with bread and butter served with maple banana syrup, which was really good. Both the presentation and taste of each dish were exceptional. Everything was cooked perfectly, and all the sauces that accompanied the dishes were heavenly. Service was impeccable and the pacing of the meal was great. The dishes came out fairly quickly, with the only bit of a wait being for dessert. They also brought out a complimentary birthday dessert, which was a nice touch. Overall, it was a fantastic dining experience. I would highly recommend this place for any celebration.

Did anyone get their $150 credit through the Chase sapphire card?

Yes I got the Chase Sapphire Reserve dining credit with Meteora.

Corkage? Do they allow us to bring our own wine bottle?

    Yes

Whats difference between the indoor dining and outdoor dining areas? Which one is preferred?

Outdoor dinning isn't necessarily outside outside, it's more of an openaire space with a huge tree at the center of the patio. It really gives a great ambiance and atmosphere while dinning. Both indoor and outdoor are dim light setting so if dinning…

Is there valet parking? (I assume so, but want to be sure!)

Yes there is but it's in the alley way behind the restaurant. It was $15.

With the switch to tasting menu only, are vegetarian options available?

    Yes

    How was their tasting menu?

It was exceptional, and very reasonably priced at $95 per person. I also recommend the wine pairing, available for $70 per person. It is available on Friday and Saturday only.

How can I make a reservation for a party of 9? Options is not available on open table and can't get a hold of anyone via phone~

Concrete tables can't me moved. Largest table seats 6. So you'd have to book two tables for 9 people. Just ask them to seat your parties next to each other.

    Are kids allowed?

It's a normal restaurant, so no restrictions on kids. But the food may not suit all kids and there is no kids menu. So just keep that in mind. If your kids are open to trying unfamiliar flavors, they may enjoy it there.…

Are there any gluten free options?

Well. Yeah. Still, may be you'd be better off at Kitchen Mouse?

Is this a tasting menu-only restaurant? And assuming it is, how much is it per person? Thank you!

No. All a la carte menu.

Dinner was $70 per person and consisted entirely of shared plates. It turned out to be plenty of food. We started with the roasted shishito peppers and the crispy pork belly. That pork belly was the best dish of the night - absolutely delicious. Next came the chickpea fritters, which were also really good. The roasted beet salad was up next. I hate beets. But I still liked this. I wouldn't order it again because, yeah, I really don't like beets. But if you like them even a little, you should get this. I actually ate several bites of this, and it was nice. The Sichuan Chili Bass presented a similar situation as I don't really like fish - but again, I ate this and it was quite tasty. Dessert was a "s'mores" situation - a messy, glorious bowl of chocolate, meringue, graham cracker crunch and strawberries. Service was awesome - perfectly pacing the meal. My friend had a couple of cocktails which were gorgeous. And the room is lovely and light. I don't love the neighborhood and parking can be tough. I definitely would come early unless you're taking a taxi. Genuinely surprised how much I liked this meal. Everything was very well done and clearly made with care without seeming fussy or too precious. Highly recommend and would definitely come back. This is a place to take your out-of-town friends to.

We made a reservation through OpenTable and arrived about 5 minutes early. They were able to seat us pretty quickly, so the whole check-in process was easy. The restaurant itself is beautiful and spacious, with tall ceilings and plenty of plants. At night, the lighting is moodier and gives the whole space a warm, buzzy atmosphere. Unfortunately, the restaurant itself was also literally warm lol. It wasn't unbearably hot, but definitely warmer than comfortable, especially while eating something like curry. Granted, it was 95°F+ outside that day, so maybe the AC was just fighting for its life. We ordered: * Goat liver mousse * Wood-fired broccoli * Pickled pepper blueberry cornbread * Lamb curry Surprisingly, I think the wood-fired broccoli was my favorite dish of the night. It had a really nice char with a slight tanginess that kept me going back for more. The cornbread and goat liver mousse were both just okay for me. I wanted the cornbread to be richer and more buttery, and the blueberry didn't come through nearly as much as I expected. The goat liver mousse was fine, but weirdly I almost wanted it to taste more like goat? For something centered around goat liver, the flavor felt pretty tame. The lamb curry had a nice curry flavor, but it was missing the depth and complexity I've had in really good curries. There also wasn't much actual lamb in the dish, which made it even harder for it to stand out. Overall, nothing we had was particularly bad, but aside from the broccoli, nothing made me think, "I need to eat this again." The space and interior honestly left a stronger impression on me than the food. Maybe we just didn't order the right dishes, because this place is clearly popular; but with so many other restaurants in the Arts District, I don't see myself choosing Girl & the Goat over them for a return visit.

They make these in a particular way, please ask them to explain it to you: the end result is fantastic), fish tacos (7/10, they're good, but I am neither a fish nor a taco person (however, I do like some good shrimp tacos). These ones in particular were plated and served so well ( they use blue corn tortilla: top-notch ingredient) and the ingredients were fresh, but maybe it was the type of fish? I don't really know, they were good, but I definitely would not order them again). Also, my friend had a coconut cold brew which he really enjoyed. Service was all around great. Ambiance was fantastic, the whole restaurant has a very upscale, chic vibe while also being unique in its own way. Even the restroom, that was super clean and well-maintained, has a very unique and interesting setup for what is the sink. All around great place, highly recommended. 10/10. UPDATE: Added names and more clarification on the fish tacos. Thank you to the GM in leaving a response. Your whole team is fantastic. I'll definitely be back.

Service: very hands on, everyone kept refilling our water glasses. Really appreciate them. The dishes came in accordingly and right on time, one after another. We ordered quite many dishes and desserts. -:- All were made fresh and cooked/baked perfectly. It's really hard to cook ribs perfectly. But this place did it! A lot of people think that "fall off the bones" are the perfect way for ribs dish. But actually that is incorrect. If you're curious of how perfectly made BBQ ribs supposed to taste like, feel free to come to this place. They'll show you how it should be. -:- this place made the best with all fresh ingredients. I never liked spread before. But here, they made their tuna spread from fresh ingredients and not from canned ingredients. If you'd like to know how good a spread tuna spread tastes like, this is the place to go! And don't get me started with their bread. Talking about fresh! They make cloud bread (my opinion). Deep fried cauliflower: first, they boiled/blanched the cauliflowers perfectly, breaded and deep fried. If you'd don't like veggies, you have to come here and get this dish. The sauce, they made it from fresh lime juice! Not from any bottled ones that majority restaurants out there use for short cuts. This including their tomato salad. Will we revisit? Yes! 1000% many many many more times!

Cool warehouse turned into restaurant, although there's not a lot of a/c to go around on a hot day…read more Service is excellent- we were indecisive, so we relied heavily on our server to put together the meal. We ordered: Mushroom crispy rice- strong umami dish, rice was crispy and the poured over broth was delicious Yellowtail slices- the passion fruit marinade was something we haven't seen on a carpaccio and we enjoyed this as a light appetizer Bing with ricotta, jam, and chili oil- this really stood out, definitely a must have at this restaurant. Great mix of flavors. Smoked pork chop- we wouldn't normally get this, but the waiter suggested it and we ultimately trusted him. Probably the best pork chop we've ever had. It was perfectly cooked, with tender meat and fat that melts in your mouth. The coconut milk in the collared greens was also a nice touch. Yuzu lemonade- they must be squeezing this fresh in the back, it took a while to come but it was so good. Love a more tart drink, and this was a perfect palate cleanser between dishes. This was more than enough for two people, we both ate to our fill and had enough for one lunch the next day. Not sure if it was intentional, but all dishes came out individually. I think some things (ie rice/pork) would have been nicely paired together so that you can balance your palate and pace yourself better. Also, a bit pricey for what you're getting, but to be expected from a celebrity chef's restaurant in LA. I will say that the chase sapphire credit helped my wallet digest it more comfortably (and the sapphire gift side dish was a plus!) Overall a great experience that I would like to have again with more bing and some new dishes.

I started with the cream biscuits, butter, and country ham, which were absolutely delicious. The market lettuce with pickled carrots, ricotta salata, hazelnuts, coriander, and buttermilk dressing was fresh, flavorful, and equally impressive. I also ordered the Liberty duck breast with wild mountain huckleberry jus, Asian pear, and spruce tip salt. The duck was very good, but the dish that really had my mouth watering and wanting more was the Italian sweet peppers with poblano cream, green chorizo, Cotija, breadcrumbs, and cilantro. So flavorful and satisfying! To finish, I had the banana pudding with macadamia nuts. It was beautiful and absolutely delicious--a perfect ending to the meal. I'll definitely be back to try more items on the menu. Manuela did not disappoint! The service was great and the drinks were strong.

The food was overall tasty, although I felt my steak was tougher than usual for the price point. The shrimp ceviche, although good quality and refreshing, had a slightly bitter taste to it (more so than the usual citrus tang) which I felt detracted from the overall flavor. It kind of felt like there were too many ingredients to it which detracted from the tasty simplicity that the dish is known for, although that is just my opinion and someone else may enjoy it more. The service on the other hand was not particularly good. Our waitress came off as slightly standoffish when asked about gluten free options and failed to refill our water cups multiple times throughout the meal, to the point my partner had to get up and do it herself. The sneaky 4% service charge automatically added to the bill also left a bad taste in my mouth. I have always been of the mind that the responsibility of compensating staff adequately falls on the business, not the public, and any extra tip is for good service and should remain optional by the customer, especially when they charge this much for basic entrees. Our bill came out to over $100 for two people (2 dishes, 1 shared appetizer, no drinks besides water) for breakfast. Overall I'd give this place 3.5 stars, worth checking out, but probably not worth frequenting often. Ambiance is an 8.5/10, the food was about a 7/10, the value was a 6/10, and the service was a 5/10. The food was solid, the ambiance was nice, the value is average to below average, and the service could use a little work. That being said, it's a nice place worth checking out, just make sure you ask to have that 4% charge removed from your bill, and tip accordingly.

The kind of spot where you walk in and immediately think, Yep... this is where you bring someone you're trying to impress. The ambience hits that perfect balance of modern, moody, and stylish, a little sexy, a little artsy, and fully date‑night certified. Service was on point the entire night, for my experience, maybe cause they know I was was going to tip very heavily. Ha ha ha. Which ai did by the way! Staff was attentive without hovering, knowledgeable without being pretentious. The team here knows the menu inside and out, and they guide you like they're curating an experience rather than just taking an order. Drinks topped off, plates cleared smoothly, pacing perfect. High‑end feel without the high‑end attitude. Let's talk about the food. Filipino Fusion Done With Swagger Ribeye Salpicao, This dish is straight-up dangerous. Tender ribeye cubes seared with garlicky, buttery goodness, the kind of salpicao that makes you rethink every bite you have. Rich, savory, and addicting. If you don't guard your plate, someone at the table will steal a piece. "Because I know I would!" Rockfish Pritong, it was crispy on the outside, flaky on the inside, and seasoned like someone's Filipino auntie whispered the secrets of life into the batter. Bright, punchy flavors with that perfect crunch. Definitely a sleeper hit. Crispy Duck Pancit, This one is wild, pancit with a crispy duck twist that somehow feels both comforting and elevated. The noodles soak up all that savory duck richness, and the crispy skin on top. Wow, a moment of silence for how good that bite is. Papaya Salad, so fresh, bright, and refreshing. A perfect palate reset between the heavier dishes. Crunchy, citrusy, and balanced, the kind of salad that actually earns its spot on the table. Grilled Eggplant Salad, smoky, silky eggplant with a char that tastes like it came straight off a backyard grill in Manila. Light but flavorful, and a great contrast to the richer plates. Pasta Palabok, a true Filipino classic reimagined. Creamy, savory palabok sauce wrapped around pasta instead of noodles, bold move, but it works. The textures are luxurious, and the flavors stay true to the original. Tare Tare Tamale, definitely one of the most creative dishes of the night. A fusion tamale with tare flavors that hit sweet, salty, and umami all at once. Soft masa, rich filling, and a flavor combo that makes you pause mid‑bite. "Mmmm hmmm!" Hamachi, so clean, fresh, and beautifully plated. The kind of hamachi that melts instantly and makes you feel fancy even if you're wearing sneakers. Of course I had my dress shoes on. It has bright citrus notes and just the right amount of heat. Sampa nails the high‑end, artsy vibe without feeling stiff. Trendy lighting, modern décor, and a soundtrack that keeps the energy fun. Perfect for date night, anniversaries, or when you want to look like you know the cool spots in LA. Sampa is Filipino fusion with confidence, bold flavors, gorgeous plating, and an atmosphere that elevates the whole night. If you're trying to impress your significant other, celebrate something special, or just treat yourself to a killer meal in the Arts District, this place delivers. "Always remember the energy you give ...is the energy you receive. One bite at a time! " Miguel C.

Our dish picks were organized ahead of time and the staff did a great job at pacing the dishes and making sure enough was ordered for our party size. The restaurant has a hip/cozy feel and you can see the chefs making the food in the open kitchen which is right in the dinning room. The only thing that sat a little weird with me was we had ordered a bottle of wine. They said they would keep it chilled for us, which was fine. They would come over and fill up our glass. However, I don't know if it was because it was the end of the night or what, but we had to ask for the rest of our bottle. Our server didn't know if we had any left but we ended up having two glasses worth in the bottle. If we didn't ask for it, we would not have received the wine we paid for, which was $70. It just put a sour taste in my mouth for the end of our experience. The food was great, but I may recommend keeping your bottle of wine on your table.
