The hummus and pita are good as well! Everything on their menu is pretty good for the most part, the gyro is just my personal favorite! Their cakes are so delicious! I can't really decide on a favorite! They give you such big slices, good luck on finishing a slice. They also have a full bar & have multiple tvs playing with sports / news. We have been here numerous times so the service has been a roller coaster of good & bad. The manager, he's our favorite "server" and he is top notch with his service! My eggs were cooked a little too hard for my liking and the side of grits had no flavor but overall it was good. Our server was very friendly. The dessert selection is amazing! We eat here regularly and the food is pretty good esp the chicken tenders and fries. The service is excellent. My husband loves the burgers. The house salad is very fresh and crispy and the ranch dressing is homemade. Overall a good value for the money. The side salad is big enough for both of us. Metro cafe is a classic. I need to start off with their fries they are super good! This is the spot for me and my friend when we want to get a decent bite and just catch up. I would definitely recommend, but every once in a while something is lacking. Overall though it's a 4/5 lol. Try it out! I've been dining with Metro Cafe Diner for over 2 years now . Every time I get their gyro with salad which is awesome. Today I had a very unpleasant experience when I placed a to go order . Vinny got my order wrong which is fine mistakes happen but then his demeanor and service was very disgusting and disrespectful. He was rude , he acted like he didn't want to bag my order . After he snatched my money, he then half bagged my order and gave it a push across the counter. I was so upset because I didn't understand why I was being treated like this . He didn't say thank you, have a nice day , nothing . I don't know what his issue was but his service was terrible!!! read more

I've been going to this forever but I recently started back visiting and I noticed a big change. They renovated the place lol. I'm usually greeted by T on a weekend night who's always cool to chat with. My usual is the Nacho Mountain add chicken and I have to Taco Bell is done for with me. These Nachos are amazing and I promise this place is the most constant place I've ever been to. I order these nachos often nothing special I add and everytime it's hot & the portions are the same. Who'd think someone would ever ask "How much more chicken is in this?" I give an A+++ to the service, although I had to wait a little too long for someone to service my table (with 3 small kids to boot) in a low- populated setting. I must say that it is a great place for families because the kids eat free M-F. What was not so good was the oily french fries (although they were good) that the kids had with their meals. However, they sure know how to attract kids with those cakes and pies in the front of the store (hence, depleting the "kids eat free" notion). I thought the food was okay--the mashed potatoes tasted like they came straight from the box and I wasn't really impressed with my meal--I had the meatloaf (it comes covered in gravy not ketchup), mashed potatoes, and veggies. I would probably return to this restaurant considering the kids do eat free, the service is excellent, and the portions are really in the customer's favor. The place was not crowded but the service sucked. The clerk took the order in the front of me and disappeared without a word. A waiter finally came over and took my order but was not allowed to ring it up, so I had to wait for the disappearing clerk to come back. We are searching for our new Sunday breakfast place. This isn't it. The food was okay, but a little pricey for the quality. Waffle House is right next door for much less money and same basic quality. From past experience I know that this chain of restaurants does Greek food best, so I ordered the Greek breakfast wrap. It was good. Hot. Filled with eggs, spinach, feta, and kalmata olives. My husband had pancakes and eggs. He wasn't so satisfied. Pancakes were okay, but syrup was little packets of Smuckers pancake syrup. For the price, they should have had pourable syrup, maybe even real maple syrup, rather than tiny packets. They didn't have any sugar free syrup on site. From a prior visit we know that the desserts in the case are beautiful, but tasteless. read more

He ordered the barbecue ribs and fries and he ate them all, they came out hot and cooked perfect. The fries were the same, delicious! I got the country fried steak, real mashed potatoes and steamed vegetables. I loved the country fried steak with the white gravy. It was perfect as were the potatoes and vegetables. The service here sucks!! I cant comment on the dine in experience but i only walked in for cake. This was the first time i came here after they renovated everything so it was nice and modern. Anyways, walking through the door immediately you are presented with a glass case full of cake. I was with the bf and came in the evening after the fathers day rush so i wasnt expecting a huge selection. There was a server busy with a customer at the cash register so i didnt bother her but behind her was two other girls just chatting it up, not even acknowledging me or the lady that came after me. Eventually one of them noticed and asked if i was going to dine in and i replied i was only going to get cake togo. After that she just stared at me. Not even a "what would you like?" or "did you need any help chosing a slice?" just a stare. I was confused and asked who was going to help me, and what the cakes were since they arent labeled and the first girl gave me an attitude. Not needed. At all. I eventually decided on the receese slice just so i could just pay and leave. While the bf was paying for the slice, the first girl just drops the container on the counter. I now remember why it took me four years to revisit this place after my first try. The food is still just as boring and tasteless as ever and not prepared well with extremely slow service. I ordered the egg white vegetarian omelet with a side of grits. What I received thirty-five minutes later was a regular omelet that was over cooked and dry with a side of hash browns. It took the waitress over fifteen minutes to return to our area where I then informed her of the wrong order. She apologized and brought a side of bland, flavorless grits with butter packets on the side where adding salt and pepper only made it slightly better ( if you like an overload of salt). I never received a replacement omelette as I think she forgot about it because by now, the diner is busy for lunch (after my experience, I'm still wondering why) and short of waitresses. I received a check 30 minutes or so later where she apologized for the slow service and suggested that I pay at the front register versus waiting for her to return. The food, the bad service and oh I forgot about the flies, were more than enough to never return. My stomach remained upset for many many hours afterwards...... I will never eat there again and if you have never tried them, do not. Go to Huskers instead in the next shopping center over ( by the movie theatre). read more
