It's set up like a cafeteria not very cozy or romantic but it's very nice with large booths and tables. You can order a beer, mimosa or a Bloody Mary. I had the beef tips, although good I wasn't in love with it. The mashed potatoes were not bad and I didn't care for the green beans. The gravy was good. My hubs had the fried shrimp and they were delicious! I decided to get some bread after taking a few bites thinking it would taste good with the gravy but they didn't have rolls so I got a homemade biscuit and it was delicious. I've been to Metro before, and loved it so much that I've come again and again, made sure to tell others about it. This was not one of those experiences. Our waitress (cannot remember her name), is not a part of this review. She was new, so I do not blame this experience on her, as the hostess advised us that she was new. This is based solely on the food. We both ordered the Bissell breakfast. Me with home fries, Tim with grits. We asked for American cheese in our scrambled eggs, and strawberry and grape jam with our toast. We received pancakes that were room temperature and it was a struggle to spread our butter or even cut them. My potatoes were hard and raw in the middle, the grits were congealed and cold, and we received zero condiments and had to flag down a few waitresses to get the things we originally asked for. When we pointed out that we asked for American cheese, the waitress told us that 'it's American, it just looks like cheddar'. What the hell? American cheese mixes into eggs and melts. Cheddar sits on top and kind of sticks to food. It has an orange color and does not mix in well. We only eat American cheese on our eggs so we can tell the difference. I'll give it to them for putting up glass partitions between the tables, enforcing the use of masks, and the waitresses being attentive. We just did not enjoy the food at all, and will make sure to only frequent the location on 434 in the future. read more

BUT then you find out Metro has an online waitlist, you type it up in the parking lot and rush over, you're seated ASAP, Mitchell handles your rushed drinks, food, and check order cool as a cucumber. (Does he wear an employee of the month shirt and when asked about it tell you "this old thing" BUT STILL CRUSHES IT like the present employee of the month, absolutely). Mitchell brings the food lightning fast and ease sets in (a lil mimosa helps) BINGO BONGO you're back on track. AND you get a delicious meal AND kid feels like they're the bees knees with a special mom breakfast AND YOU MAKE IT HOME ON TIME. A+ mom moment achieved. Next time Metro's not the backup plan, they're THE PLAN. You're home on time and the kid is napping. You're riding high off your W and you go to Yelp to tell everyone who helped make it possible. We were in the area and saw this place was nearby and wanted to try it out. It was busy on a Sunday afternoon and the hostess let us know it would be a fifteen minute wait which was fine. It ended up being even shorter which is always nice. Our server was very friendly and showed us where to find the specials and let us know we could ask any questions about the menu. She kept our beverages full throughout our meal and was kind and attentive. I hadn't had fried chicken in a long time and it looked like a popular item so I ordered the fried chicken meal with mashed potatoes and steamed veggies. My boyfriend ordered country fried steak and we ordered a side of mac and cheese to share. The fried chicken platter is huge! The chicken was very crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. It was slightly bland in my opinion, but still very nicely cooked. The gravy on the mashed potatoes was very flavorful, the steamed veggies were well prepared, and the mac and cheese was tasty as well. My boyfriend enjoyed his meal as well. It's a little pricier than a lot of spots that serve this kind of food, but they definitely seem to serve large portions with nice presentation and have friendly, knowledgeable team members so I feel it's worth it! read more

This place has such a nice, retro diner atmosphere. They really nailed the big breakfast, good price, old-fashioned, homey aspects. The customer service was excellent. I ordered the Bissel Breakfast which was one of the breakfast favorites. It came with 2 pancakes, 2 eggs, a big hashbrown, bacon, and 2 pieces of toast. The pancakes were nice and soft and fluffy. Everything else I ordered came out exactly as I ordered it and how I liked. It was a very satisfying breakfast meal. You can also get other options in the Bissel Breakfast, like sausage instead of bacon or grits instead of a hashbrown. read more

When we arrived, there was no waiting so we were seating promptly. The waitress had a pleasant demeanor and was very helpful when answering all of my questions. I tried the half fried chicken plate and my wife ordered the salmon. As we waited for our order, music was playing quietly in the background which set the mood for a pleasant dining experience. The only issue I would have for the night was the low lighting in our area. It made it kind of hard to see our food when it came. When the food came, my chicken was fried crispy while the meat was nice and juicy. I like the mashed potatoes with the brown gravy however the mixed vegetable medley was severely under-cooked. My wife's salmon was very tasty and cooked properly but had the same experience with the green beans she ordered. Overall, I would still come back once more but will make sure to have the vegetables steamed properly. read more

I've driven by this Metro Diner many times in the 6 months I've been here in the Orlando area. After a long work week I decided to stop in and check it out. I've never heard of Metro Diner and did not look at any reviews. My visit was solely based on hunger, convenience, and 6 months of curiosity. It was around 6:30 when I arrived. When I walked in and I was quickly greeted and seated. The dining area was well lit and clean There with about a half a dozen tables seated when I sat down. The host gave me a menu and let me know my server would be right with me. Going over the menu it consisted of the typical American Diner types of food and a breakfast for dinner menu. Moments after being seated my server approached and took my drink order. I ordered sweet tea that was not to sweet just the way I prefer. I was ready with my order when my server returned. My intention was to get a burger but after browsing the menu I decided to for the Friday Fish and Chips special that included Cole Slaw and either a house or Caesar salad. Service was fairly quick, at right around 10-15 minutes. The manager on duty served my food. A plate with a nice sized Caesar salad and a plate with two good sized pieces of fried fish, a handful of golden french fries and a small bowl of cole slaw. I would have liked to have seen the salad served first rather than with the meal. I was really surprised with the salad and it reminded me of the old Denny's Caesar salad that is no longer on their menu. It definitely brought back memories of going to Denny's after baseball games growing up. The fish batter was cooked to a nice golden brown and the dish inside was moist and flaky with good flavor. The French fries were crispy on the out side and tender and soft in the center. I'm not a huge cole slaw fan but I definitely gave it a try. The cabbage and carrots were nicely coated with a dressing that was not to sweet and had a nice tang to it. Over all a very good experience. We were a party of nine and waited about half hour, which is unusual, but it was very busy on this particular day. Some of our party ordered breakfast some ordered lunch. The food came out quickly, and it was hot and served all at the same time which is not always the case. The portions were very generous. The food was delicious. The waitress was fantastic. It is a great place to go for a family breakfast, brunch, lunch or dinner. The pricing is very fair. We were all so full. What a great restaurant! Metro Diner is one of my favorite diners in the area. Yes, it is a southern chain, but it's got so many things going for it. This is a fairly new location in Casselberry. I love that the food is consistently good at all the locations I've been to in central Florida. More things I like: - Food is cooked to order and they have breakfast, lunch, and dinner options all day. - Prices are fair for the portions and quality. Come hungry! - It's family friendly. One of my favorite breakfast joints! Their portions are huge. If you sit at the bar, you can watch them prepare your meal. Beware of the barstools though; I left with black marks on the back of my pants?!?! Plenty of table seating, inside and out. Service is good. I like how you have the menu and the board with the specials. So easy to see! The placemats are littered with local advertisements, something to look at while you wait for your food. I've had multiple meals here- all breakfast. I've never had lunch or dinner here. Weekends can get busy. Weekdays are fine. They usually have two types of coffee on brew. I've switched from one to the other and they don't mind. Some dishes I recommend are the challah French toast and the chicken and waffles. Wow! Both are fantastic. I was counting down the days for this Metro Diner to open as: 1) it's less than a mile from my house and 2) I've been seeing great reviews on Yelp for their other locations. This Metro Diner is a free-standing establishment (that used to be a different diner) in the plaza on the corner of Howell Branch Road and 436/Semoran Blvd. They have complimentary water and coffee while you wait and the decor is welcoming with dark green and wood accents. It feels like a modern (but still cozy) diner with daily specials handwritten on a chalkboard and its very clean. Staff members are friendly and attentive and food is so good, that I dove right in before I could snap a picture of my meal during my first visit! I've tried the Bissell Breakfast (two eggs any way you want them), bacon, toast, hash browns or grits and pancakes. I'm a cheese aficionado, so I opted to add cheese to my scrambled eggs as well as to my hash browns. The bacon was honestly the best I've ever tasted (and I've tried that million dollar bacon at the other brunch spot) and everything was so delicious that I've ordered the same thing on a recent visit. I ordered the spicy honey chicken sandwich with a side of mac & cheese and he ordered the Southwest scramble bowl (and added grilled chicken). The service was great and the vibes were homey, but the food was extremely mediocre. The spicy honey chicken sandwich had a great crunch but very "blah" flavor. Topped with one single tomato slice, I found it to be very disappointing. And the Mac n cheese had "high school cafeteria" quality taste and texture. The southwest bowl was kind of gross. The avocado in the bowl tasted like metal and the tomatoes tasted like they were just poured out from a can. *Side note, his bowl was $11 and there was a $5 up charge to add grilled chicken Our meal totaled out to $30 Again, great service but very disappointing food. read more

Shannon was our wonderful server. AND she was fabulous as always!! So kind with a "welcome" & a hug. My hubby was hungry so he got the waffle with the strawberry butter & half a delicious perfectly fried chicken. He even had a piece leftover for lunch come Monday!!! I got the lunch special of a bowl of yummy Shrimp Corn Chowder & a House Salad with their delicious bleu cheese dressing. The chowder was a little spicier than usual, and Shannon graciously offered to get me the replacement of Chicken Noodle Soup, but I said I would take it home to make it milder.... no worries. Me and my husband ordered the chicken and waffles on Uber eats and my fried chicken was cold and soggy and not crispy. We were so hungry just to be disappointed with a meal like this. I called and asked if they could remake it and we could pick it up and the lady said no I have to go through Uber to get a refund. Uber said I'm not allowed to get a refund because the order was successfully delivered and the restaurant is denying a refund. So it seems like everybody is playing games at this place because when I ask them for a refund, they refuse and refused to remake it and then when I ask Uber for a refund, they refuse and say that the restaurant refuses to do it. read more

I have never been to Metro! My son wanted to go for breakfast, so we did! I ordered a Carnitas bowl. It has hash browns, scrambled eggs, carnitas and I asked for a side of gravy. It comes with hollandaise sauce which I'm not a huge fan of. It took almost 30 minutes to get our food. The carnitas came in chunks and it was honestly like chewing into shoe leather. I guess I was thinking it would be more like pulled pork. I had to add salt to my food 3 times, which is very rare for me to do. The bowl had zero flavor! Was very disappointed! Also they put the plastic rankin of gravy on top of the food in the bowl, which I hate! I know a pet peeve!! read more
