    Banana Pudding Bread Pudding
    Janelle L.

Metro diner is one of my sons favorite places to go eat. He is ten and absolutely DEVOURS a Belgian waffle with chicken fingers and fries. Luckily for me there is a $12.99 chicken fingers deal that comes with a side salad and a drink which is incredibly reasonably these days. Also absolutely delicious. The chicken tenders are just that... so tendie!!! I usually eat the side salad and get a desert. The banana pudding bread pudding is an absolutely mouth watering. 10/10. I wish this was year round but the seasons bring changes in flavors as they always do. The service here is always really great and they very attentive to the tables. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I love the old diner feel with a modern twist. The space is very open and they play soft rock vibes on the PA.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

The Metro Diner is a great spot to go to at any time, for any meal. I'm personally a big breakfast guy, so I love to keep it simple and get a classic, filling meal. This time I went with eggs, sausage, and hash browns. This meal also came with an English muffin. I opted to add on some blueberry pancakes, and I definitely didn't regret that. Everything was delicious and affordable. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The diner isn't anything fancy, but it is nice and clean.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Whenever I have come here, I have always encountered friendly staff.

Pretty spot on. Wifey recommended we head over here and it didn't disappoint. I had the meat lover scramble and she had the pancakes and it didn't disappoint! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Felt very small town/mom and pop.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Can't complain about that! Our waitress was very kind and polite and catered to all of our needs. We really enjoyed this location!

It's metro diner! Always a good time with decent food and great prices. The club sandwich was definitely a shareable entry. The amount of meat and sides you get is insane. I am normally a big eater but I could not finish the food. Good quality and good service, I would come back!

The food is good here and it comes out pretty quickly. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It does get super packed especially on a Sunday afternoon.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The servers are very friendly as I've never really had a poor experience. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I think it's just the wait sometimes and the place looks a little yucky sometimes too but I think it's just because it's older and they get extremely busy sometimes.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Every once in a while the food is a little too greasy for my liking but that's like 2 out of 10 times. I'll still go just not as often as I used to.

I have to give it up to this place down their quick service. I was a little nervous coming in an hour before closing but we were STARVING and turned in for a meal. It was actually still quite busy and bustling when we walked in. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We were seated right away and the ambiance was friendly.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Our server took our order and like no time went by and we received our meals. Food was delicious, service was excellent and would definitely come back!

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Good place to go after work either alone or with friends.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]When we arrived on a work day there was barely anyone in there.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Dakota, our server, was very attentive and patient. The food is super delish and the portions are just right. I am glad I stopped in. I will definitely be returning.

One of my local favs ! No matter how busy they are, service is amazing. Today our server was Kristin and she was so sweet and catered to my little one. Our food came out hot and fresh and coffee was freshly brewed. My go to is always the cinnamon roll waffle and my little one loves the kids pancake breakfast with powdered sugar and a side of sausage patties and apple juice. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambiance is like a family dinner as other tables engage in conversation and the dining area inside is spacious.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]They also offer outdoor seating as I saw people dining with their dogs.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Keep up the great work, our family really enjoys this location.

Wow. We came here today because we had two $5 coupons. The food was excellent. We got the fried chicken Benedict with two big fried chicken pieces two eggs and a biscuit hash browns and I got grits. So Good!! Chicken cooked to perfection. Scott got the meat lovers omelet with hash browns and rye toast. We also had coffee and it was really good. I will definitely come here again.!!

The Fam and I stopped in last night for dinner while out and about shopping in the area. We planned to end our day in Casselberry so we could use our $5 coupons to Metro Diner before they expire next month. We were greeted and seated right away and our server Christin was wonderful. Christin was super friendly and attentive she also let us use both $5 coupons during the same meal, thank you Christin!! [[HIGHLIGHT]]I love the look of Metro Diner, It's got a relaxed American diner vibe.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The only issue with this store is its bit dirty and definitely needs a good deep cleaning.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Something notable about this store that I love is the four private restrooms available for customers. They're large enough for a wheelchair to get in and the door bolt indicates if they are in use or vacant to others outside the room.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I ordered the meat lovers omelette with hash browns and rye toast ($12.69); mom and Nancy both ordered the fried chicken Benedict $12.99). Our food was out in less than 15 minutes and everything was fresh, hot, and delicious. Honestly , I should have ordered the fried chicken Benedict because it was perfectly cooked, crispy and juicy. We also ordered coffee with our meals. For me the coffee was a bit on the weak side but it was freshly made and Christin did a great job keeping us topped off. All and all it was a great experience, the food was on point and I would definitely come back again if in the area.

I've been here a few times and I absolutely LOVE the Chicken & Waffles here. They come with a strawberry butter and the waitress/waiter will mix syrup and hot sauce for your fried chicken! It's quite literally the only thing that I order here and I am never disappointed. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It is a cozy family diner with huge specials boards for customers to see.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The service is always great and the people there are always courteous. This morning I called to place a take out order for a waffle and Dave, like all of the staff I've encountered there, was very pleasant and super helpful. I will continue to come here again and again without a doubt! The food is always hot and delicious and the waitstaff is very attentive making sure to do everything with a smile!

    Poisonous biscuits and gravy

Today we visited Metro Diner in Casselberry Commons around 4:00 PM on Valentine's Day for a late brunch, excited because we've had great experiences at other Metro Diner locations. Unfortunately, this visit resulted in food poisoning. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We were seated quickly in a homey booth and had a pleasant server.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We ordered biscuits and gravy as a starter, which we strongly believe caused the illness. The dish tasted good at the time and was the only thing that we really touched, but the person who ate more of it became significantly more sick than the other. Shortly after leaving the restaurant we felt nauseous but thought nothing of it, but about an hour and a half later we were both vomiting uncontrollably and unable to keep anything down. For our entrées, one hash bowl was completely burnt bitter and inedible, while the other meal was fine aside from a substitution issue. However, these issues were minor compared to the severity of getting sick on such a nice day. This was extremely disappointing, especially given our positive experiences with other Metro Diner locations. Not sure what happened here today but we will not be returning or recommending, instead we will be reporting.

    Sonia C.

The food was good. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambiance was common diner setting.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We had a nice server but she could have been more attentive. I would definitely come back for the waffles. Really good and it's located inside a shopping center where publix and other stores in Casselberry.

I've had experiences at certain First Watch franchise locations that left me questioning not only the meal, but several of my life choices leading up to it. So when I walked into this location in the Fern Park/Casselberry (Altamonte Springs) area, I'll admit it... I came in cautiously optimistic at best. Thankfully, this visit reminded me why the chain became popular in the first place. Right away, the staff stood out for being personable and genuinely pleasant. Not the robotic "corporate friendly" where someone smiles while dead behind the eyes. Actual warm, attentive service that made the place feel welcoming. And here's something restaurant owners should probably frame on the wall because it's becoming weirdly rare these days: the food was cooked correctly and served hot. Hot. As in actually warm when it hit the table and not sitting under a heat lamp long enough to qualify for Social Security. I ordered the omelette, and it absolutely hit the spot. Comfort food done properly. Fluffy, flavorful, filling, and exactly what I wanted breakfast to be. My daughter ordered the steak and egg hash, and visually... let's just say this isn't a dish entering any beauty pageants. It kind of arrives looking like breakfast got into a small argument with itself. But one bite in and none of that mattered. It was rich, hearty, luscious, and cooked just right. The kind of dish where every bite feels indulgent enough that you briefly stop caring about cholesterol or responsibility. This location honestly felt dialed in. The kitchen was on point, the service was strong, and the overall experience reminded me that consistency is what separates a good restaurant visit from a forgettable one. Because of my mixed history with First Watch overall, I can't quite bring myself to throw five stars into the air like confetti... but this particular location absolutely earned four stars and deserves credit for getting it right.

At this location when we recently met friends here, the best part of our visit was Vivian, our server. She was friendly, knowledgeable, professional, and open to food options not on the menu. Specifically, one in our party asked for a side of quinoa, if possible, since this gluten-free food was not under the Sides menu. Vivian checked in back and happily delivered a small bowl of fresh quinoa. Secret menu item? I don't think so, but Vivian asked and made it happen! My wife and I ordered the Salmon with sautéed vegetables Frittata and the salad, and I chose the artisan bread. The frittatas were cooked just right and the sautéed veggies enhanced the Sockeye salmon, flavor-wise. The artisan bread was fresh and the slightly melted butter was just right. I also ordered the "Sunrise Project" coffee which comes in a carafe - I'm a big fan. Our table's orders arrived in a reasonable amount of time, accurately, and at the right temperature. Vivian kept us taken care of during our meal and with a genuine cheery attitude. The interior is bright, modern, and open up to the roof. The plentiful seating is a combination of tables and booths. Located separately was a juice and coffee bar. MISC East Altamonte Drive (SR 436) can be a challenge at times to enter into the parking lot and exit back on it. But don't let it stop you from enjoying this place.

On my first visit, I ordered the Apple Cinnamon Oatmeal Pancakes with link sausages and a glass of orange juice. The pancakes were delicious, the sausages hit the spot, and the orange juice was... well, you know... orange juice. It did its job! The atmosphere reminded me of a classic country diner--cozy, welcoming, and filled with an older crowd, which I honestly prefer. One thing I really appreciated was being able to seat myself. That's always a plus in my book. Sometimes being escorted to a table means ending up in that one awkward corner nobody wants... but I digress. Overall, I had a great experience and would happily come back. My significant other, however, wasn't nearly as impressed. Oh well--you win some, you lose some! Fun fact, diners were started in New England region of America in the 1850s. All this to say, I love a good diner. I mean the American diner has always been there for middle America. The closest one to me and honestly it's definitely hidden away is the Maitland Breakfast Club. It's pretty much situated on the boundary line of where the City of Altamonte Springs starts. They have large space that's casual and what you would expect for a diner. Anyone can walk in wearing their Sunday best to pajamas. The waitresses are very welcoming and exactly the kind of person I would expect to invite me into a diner. We had gone on a Saturday afternoon and they're not a diner that's open late, so more of a breakfast diner really. Now I got the eggs Benedict with bacon and hash browns. For me, there are three breakfast staples I believe all amazing must revisit breakfast places should have. A good cup of warm regular coffee, eggs Benedict, and good crispy hash browns. I mean some places have other things like lattes and hash brown bowls, and I'm not saying those aren't good. However, when you nail the basics, you can do anything else. The hollandaise sauce was great and didn't split and bacon was crispy. The hash browns were super crispy, which I loved, and I could tell it had been made on a flat top grill, which is another very classic American restaurant kitchen appliance. The cup of coffee was good, I mean they had the sugar packets and the creamers right there. Overall, I would rate it a 9/10 and it set us back about $15 for just my portion. I will be back (said menacingly), Maitland Breakfast Club.

Everyone's food was served on heart wooden trays and the sandwich had a cute heart pick in the top. Service was great and we loved the feel of the place. Good food. Good service. Cutesy vibes. We had a fantastic meal.

My only suggestion would be to serve water more frequently because I ran out and would have liked a refill, but other than that, perfection! Hoping to go again soon!

But I had an urge to find some fried chicken that is lightly battered and this place hit the spot. Located just off of Park Avenue and Fairbanks is The Hen & Hog. Got a 6 piece fried chicken anf a few sides which consisted of mac and cheese, fries and a pickled slaw. Juicy freshly fried and ever so gently battered chicken that was crisp with every bite. Definitely some tasty chicken. I really liked the slaw that had garlic onions celery and some other items but it cut through the savoriness of the chicken. Yes, i ate all of it to the bone. Wife also got chicken and waffles which she thoroughly enjoyed. Also had fried banana peppers with a pimento spread. Pretty nice combination. Staff was super helpful. They also have wings with a lot of great sauces to try. That will be my order for next time. Cant wait to come back.

I liked the t beers (white meat) the best. Melting the mouth breast with crunchy exterior. My chicken and waffles did not really hit the spot for me. I learned I'm not a fan of open fried thighs because they were fatty and that consistency in my mouth was not appetizing; but, they were well done and seasoned perfectly. The waffle was fluffy inside and just a tad burnt outside. FYI: the syrup is kinda spicy. Pleasant interior with friendly and attentive service.

However, they have plenty of outdoor seating that's perfect for hanging out with friends on a Sunday morning. Literally one of my favorite spots. Thank you Buttermilk for being THAT girl.

So even if you're late to the party, I still say it's worth a stop in. Flavor creations like roasted shiitake croissant with gochujang and scallions, katchapuri egg croissant, and mortadela hot honey snails have caught my eye. This visit I tried the quiche with roasted tomatoes and goat cheese, orange chocolate tea cake, salty malty financier, and mango lime cake donut, and every one was fresh, unique, and full of flavor. There is no inside seating but a good amount of outside seating, and there is a ramp from the parking lot to the seating area for those who need it. The parking lot is behind the building, and the entrance to the parking lot is to the left of the building.

Then again, maybe it's a good thing because I'd probably be eating bagels every day and that's A LOT of carbs! LOL This was our first time here. I placed a mobile order and went inside to pick it up. Nice, large restaurant. Area with plug-ins for laptops for anyone wanting to work remotely. Ordered a chocolate bagel, a blueberry bagel, a blueberry muffin, a chocolate chip cookie, and a doggie bagel for my service pupster. First, I have to say my pup LOVED the doggie bagel. Another reason I probably shouldn't live so close b/c I spoil the heck outta my dog and I'd be here getting him bagels every day too. LOL The bagels were excellent, as I always expect from any Einstein Bros. The blueberry muffin was ok, but honestly I've had better. It has been probably 5 years since I've ordered a muffin from this chain, so it's possible they changed them, but it was not as good as what I remembered. I didn't try the chocolate chip cookie, but hubby claimed he loved it. The reason for the 4 stars is because the cleanliness could have been better. We got there around 10am, which was just after the breakfast rush. There was only one other customer in the restaurant when we got there and the employees were all behind the counter. I feel like perhaps someone should have been wiping the crumbs, etc. from all the tables. The restaurant was clean, as were the restrooms, but when they are not busy, it shouldn't be a problem to find a clean table. The employees were friendly and smiling. No complaints there at all. Make sure to check your bag when you leave. They had forgotten to put the chocolate chip cookie in. As this was our only visit here, I can't say if this is something that regularly happens or not. But again, they were not busy - it shouldn't have been missed. It's all good though; mistakes do happen.
