Stopped in for the first time have been looking for a new place have breakfast. our sever was nice and provided good service.However we ordered our food and it came out in a timely manner i tried the biscuits and gravy combo the hash browns and eggs were good. when i went to the biscuits and gravy i ate a few bites and notice that the sausage did not look right and i pulled out a piece of it and it was pink, I asked the server it it was normal and she said i don't think so so i requested the manager. He came over and said that they had put the wrong meat in to the gravy, honestly i have no idea what is actually was and by that time my plate was removed from the table so i could not examine it more or get a picture of it. The manager assured me that the meat was cooked , but after that you still have the thought of what was that what did i just eat. Very disappointed read more

This was a first visit for this new location. I was in search of a breakfast menu that had a little more than just breakfast, and this is it. I ordered eggs, hashbrowns, and toast and asked for the eggs to be done well, nothing runny, and they were spot-on perfect. My wife ordered the chicken potpie and she was a little hesitant to do so but they assured her that is she didn't like it they'd get her something she would like. She loved it so that didn't even come up. The service was awesome and we had zero issues. That's rare these days! One flaw with their layout... you have to walk through the serving area to get to the tables. It's awkward and I felt sooooo in the way. WOW...WOW...WOW... What a wonderful experience! From our amazing server, KATELYN, to one of the managers named MICHELLE. The whole experience was wonderful. We were greeted by a friendly staff. Seated immediately! What a menu selection! They even offer Gluten Friendly items which is awesome. Their coffee was awesome, with a flavor a day and today was cinnamon! I can't say enough about how well we were treated. They have a 1/2 off coupon through their website but be aware. I signed up before going and still hadn't received the discount BUT (another way they set themselves apart) they honored the discount and took 50% off of our meal! Amazing...not all places operate that way. But I showed them where I found it and how it popped up because they hadn't even seen the coupon yet. But, if you are in the area, want something beyond the chain restaurants to eat at and want to go where they treat you like family; this is the place. Literally Michelle sat down and chatted with us about future promotions and told us that since we bought a mug we can get a discount next time we come...another reason to make the $5.00 even more worthwhile. Was looking for a good place to eat and drove by this diner. Now, I have been to Metro before but have never reviewed this particular location. I had asked the server what she recommended and she suggested the pot roast. So glad she did because the pot roast was absolutely delicious! The gravy was thick and tasty and the meat was so tender. My daughter had the meatloaf and ate the whole thing. Would definitely recommend those two items. My suggestion is to always ask a server their opinion. Lots of time they try the food or at the very least know what people are ordering and what people end up raving about. The service we received at this location was great! Parking is ample. read more

Stopped here for a quick lunch not really knowing what to expect. Was pleasantly surprised by how homey it felt. Reminded me of my old diner I used to get food from all the time back home in NY. Our waitress, Suriya, was incredibly sweet. The manager was clearly attentive, constantly checking up on tables to make sure everything was okay. They had a great deal on $3 Bloody Mary Mimosas all day. Never had one before. It had a nice kick to it, and wasn't half bad. They had this awesome looking burger on the menu stuffed between two grilled cheese sandwiches called the Holy Davoli burger, so of course I had to try it. It was honestly pretty awesome. I mean, I could feel my arteries clogging up with every bite, but it was still delicious. Really hard to fit in your mouth though (insert dirty joke here). Noticed a southern comfort theme to their menu so I figured their chicken pot pie would be good.... and it was! Everything tasted homemade. I got huge chunks of flavorful chicken breast in every bite. Oh, and the crust was amazing. The crust was like a perfect buttery country-style biscuit. Getting a bit of the filling with the crust was like heaven. My girlfriend got the chicken and waffles. I was stuffed from my own food but when she offered a bit of the fried chicken I had to try it. It looked way too tempting. Happy to say it was phenomenal. That fried chicken rivaled any fried chicken I could get in a 5-star restaurant. Nothing fancy about it, other than the fact it was perfectly juicy on the inside, perfectly crispy on the outside, and seasoned to perfection. Noticed they had an Apple Cobbler on the menu as well. That turned out to be pretty awesome too. It was a perfect portion size for the two of us. Tasted amazing. If the apples had been cooked a bit more, I would have considered it perfection. Overall, this place was a really pleasant surprise. I my low expectations for a place like this is what takes it to a 5-star experience for me, but I feel like this place will surprise a lot of people. We had the best experience at Metro today. Gail our hostess was so nice and made sure we were happy with the table she sat us at. She sat us with Kristen our very attentive and awesome server. I had the pumpkin pancakes (yum!!!!!!) and my husband had the always delicious chicken and waffles! The manager on duty Eddie checked on us twice. That's service! We have eaten here on many occasions and today just felt different, in such a good way. Not sure what has changed at this location, but keep it up!! We will definitely be back again soon! read more

My new favorite diner in Orlando! So far all the food I've tried here has been amazing! The fried chicken and waffles is my go-to, and don't skip the hot sauce and maple syrup mix to go with it. The spicy honey chicken biscuit is great too but I wish I got the honey sauce on the side, it can be a little overpowering for me personally. On the wall they have specials written and you can find really unique seasonal dishes and drinks for great prices. Overall this place is exactly what you're looking for in diner food- fast friendly service, huge portions, and delicious comfort food that tastes homemade. read more

Metro Diner oh how I love you! I love the new location as it's closer to me! It was no surprise that the restaurant was busy, and we had a 20 minute wait. But the wait is always worth it. One of my favorite things about Metro Diner is the specials menu. They always change, and that means more options away from their traditional menu. So if I'm not getting their famous chicken and waffles or bold city burger, I get a special! On this visit, I had their Southern Belle sandwich. It had a fried chicken filet with ham, tomato and pimento cheese, and it came with two sides. Boy was it good! The sad thing about specials is that you may not see the menu item again, so if it looks good take advantage and order it! I know that I'll be back in the future, and I'm happy that there's a closer location! read more

Stopped in for breakfast with my son. The parking lot had a few cars in it, kinda busy for a Wednesday morning at around 9:30 am- so that was a good sign. Seating was immediate, and our drink order was taken right away. My son's eyes lit up at the idea of a 12 inch pancake. He got that with chocolate chips and a side of biscuits and gravy. All of it was way too much for him to eat. His eyes are always bigger than his stomach. I ordered the biscuits and gravy platter which included 2 eggs and a side. My son's side order is b&g was as big as my order. My eggs were done perfectly and my second side of Canadian bacon was delicious. The young woman waiting on us was very attentive and knowledgeable. We drove past the place last night and decided to check it out today. We had the chicken and waffles and braised beef tips. We traded out the broccoli that comes with the beef for the sautéed veggies which was yummy yellow squash and zucchini. The waffles comes with a yummy mixture of syrup and Louisiana hot sauce. We also tried the loaded chips,the barbecue pork on the chips was really good. However I could have done without the cheese on it. Just a personal preference. The nacho cheese sauce is not my favorite. However it would've been fantastic with everything else on it. The fried chicken was really good. It was crispy and juicy and hot and fresh. All very important things when getting fried chicken! Order the fried chicken, totally worth it. For having been only open only a few days, they did a wonderful job. My husband got the meatloaf with the gravy had a unusual flavor. Overall my husband enjoyed the meatloaf. The kids got chicken and waffles which they enjoyed. Such a huge menu and everything I've tried has been excellent. Quick and friendly service and I always seem to have some specific request, which they obliged courteously all three times I went. The ambiance is what you'd expect from a busy diner, but there are more private booths near the back and the outdoor seating is nice when the weather is good. This is the most incompetent Metro Diner I've EVER been to. My mom and I ordered online since it's Sunday and everywhere is getting more and more packed on Sundays. I ordered chicken and waffles and my mom ordered a Belgium Waffle with Turkey Sausage. She wanted a side of eggs but the website does not allow you to order just a side of eggs. She went to go pick up our order and of course it was not even close to being ready at the designated pick up time She ordered a side of eggs since you can't just eggs without any other inclusions online and they charged her $2 per egg. That's $4 for a side of eggs. What??? On top of that, they forgot her turkey sausage and gave us spicy syrup (which is disgusting) and didn't specify or let us know in any way. A few days ago we visited this location with my family who came in briefly from out of town and had the best experience. Our waitress, Sariya, was attentive and very patient with our endless questions and requests (there were a lot of us)! All of the food was fresh and had a homemade taste, the portions are HUGE (you can order a half size if you need a smaller plate like me), and they always have great drinks on the menu like flavored coffees and mimosas. I noticed his (new to me location) I use to go to Metro Diner back in South Florida and loved their breakfast! Chicken and waffles! Back to this location. I called and placed my order and my bf wanted to make sure he had a pound of protein and I noticed the burgers was 1/2 pound. The girl said she could for sure request a double patty (for a fee which I totally understood). I didn't have the menu in front of me but she was able to help me get the perfect meal for what I was craving! I went for the chicken fingers which came with two sides, I did the seasoned fries and the veggies. They also have slaw and their famous mac n cheese. 20 minutes later I went in and they were finishing bagging. three different team members came up to me to make sure I was being helped. And since it wasn't ready one girl gave me a couple of their famous biscuits while I waited. They confirmed everything I wanted was in the bag and were just so friendly! It's hard to find a good diner these days! I've been to a few places and this one by far is a keeper. Sometimes you just want a simple breakfast like the good old days without all the fancy stuff. I've been here three time and love going here for breakfast with my family. Ordered To-go via phone and we were told 15 minutes. We arrive within 15 minutes and let them know we were there to pickup a phone order and gave the name the order was under. We sat there for 20 minutes (total time from the phone order to now is 35 minutes) and inquire about our order, but we are told it still isnt ready. 10 more minutes go by and we ask about our order. The woman looks at the bag that was sitting there since we entered the restaurant and hands it to us. We go home and our food is stone-cold, no toppings and the fries are soggy. I call to let them know and they said to come back up for a new order. We give them the first order and they hand us the replacement. After our second trip, we arrive home to no lettuce on the burger, but the fries were hot. I can live with that! We cut into our burgers and they were raw!!! I can eat a rare burger, but this was RAW!! I call to ask if we can give them the raw meal and get our money back (we paid cash, so we had to go back up there) and the Manager agreed. We show the Manager the burgers and her response is "Yea, that is more rare than Medium. The cook were just in a hurry to get your food out quickly." I quickly told her the burger isn't rare, it is raw. I would have rather them take their time and save me a third trip up here. This 2 hour adventure has now come to an end and I am still hungry. We got our money back ($40 for 3 burgers), but I am left speechless at the complete avoidance of the problem. The server at the Togo was very apologetic and made me feel like I was valid in my disgust, but the manager could care less and tried to say it just was a bit undercooked. Came here starving after working night shift so I wanted a lot of food and they did not disappoint. I ordered the Bissell breakfast which came with 2 eggs, sausage, grits and pancakes. They also let me upgrade my toast to biscuits & gravy which was perfect since I was torn between what I ordered and the biscuits and gravy breakfast. So this way I got everything I wanted in one meal. I thought the food was great! Our server (I wish I could remember his name) was great! And our food came out very quickly. Heard of this diner for a while now, finally tried it, and the food is pretty delicious, so I've been back multiple times now, but service is hit or miss, depending on what time you go, as they get really packed most of the time, and the wait is pretty long, but if you have the time to spare, it's worth the wait, as their chicken and waffles are one of the best in town, crab cakes Benedict is also very flavorful, also portions are great especially for the price, I got take out for the first time, and was just as good, highly recommend this location, the one by Ucf gets crazy busy. read more

This place is right in front of where I work and I can't believe I've never given it a shot before now. When we first got there we were seated right away by a very friendly hostess. We received excellent service from our waitress Suriya, who was very cheerful and helpful. I ordered the chicken and waffles which seemed pricey at $16 but I was not disappointed. There was plenty of food on the plate, enough so that I had enough for a second breakfast the next day! The chicken was delicious and crispy and the waffles were to die for. Me and my boyfriend Tom split the apple cobbler and it was seriously good. We couldn't finish it because we were so full from our meals but I sure wish I could have. Dined here Wednesday around 12 ish . Cutest little place with an open area to see the kitchen while they cook. They have got to be the most respectful kitchen staff to servers I have a seen . This place is northern diner food with southern charm service experience. This place would be 5 stars if they had a good cook. I would give it 3 stars for food. The service and staff are fast, wonderful, and gracious. The place looks great and place is very clean. That is the good news. I had the corn beef hash and poached eggs with a biscuit. My wife had poached eggs and toast. The portions were normal. The food suffers due to lack of great flavor and being under cooked. The poached eggs were under cooked and very runny. The hash browns didn't have much flavor and a bit dry. The biscuit looked like a biscuit but tasted like a dinner role. As most of you know, a dinner role is bland. They need a proper southern biscuit dough recipe. We will try it again for other items on the menu. read more

Loved it. Great comfort food and large portions. The cheese ball appetizer things are so delicious and addictive and are really so great to start a meal. The food comes out super quickly so be prepared not to chat too long during your appetizer like we did because otherwise your entrée will arrive quickly.
