I wanted to love this place, but I just didn't. I had been religiously following to see when this place was open because I was just so excited to try it. There was a super long wait, but they were busy and it was a Saturday morning so it was to be expected. The server recommended a monte Cristo to me, and having never had one before, I ordered it. Maybe it's just me, but who wants a deep fried funnel cake coated sandwich at 8am. The jam? It came with was so thick I couldn't dip the sandwich into it. I'm gonna come back because I really want to like this place because the food looks amazing, I just really want impressed my first time. Service was good though so that's a strong plus. read more

Four of us returned to Metro Diner in Daytona Beach. Nicole was our fantastic server. Ordered their Apple stuffed Waffle. Big enough to share. Their Chicken stuffed waffle with apples was outstanding, also big enough to share. Hot food, served hot. This Metro has gone down in appearance as it was dirty in the dinning area and restroom. The food was also a rate of two as the fries were soggy and the rest of the meal had no taste. The young man up front hosting look like he just got out of bed. The only thing that was pleasant was the waitress. I will not be visit a Metro ever again. Everything was really good. I enjoyed my croissant french toast and the cheesy grits was so delicious. The presentation of the food was amazing. I really enjoyed the atmosphere and it was nice and clean. Also the waitress was very nice and the food came out hot and was super delicious. Always a go to spot in Florida. Big menu good service clean and no #MAGA nonsense . I had the Fish and Chips which were very good with a light white flaky fish. Fries and Slaw were also good. Good vegetable omelette, good waffles and chicken. VERY weak coffee. Prices way too high.

Went when it first opened and it was dirty tables were greasy and had syrup on them. The servers were nice but not well informed. The food was ok the fries came out uncooked but I'm sure they didn't mean it. I probably won't ever have the need to go there again. read more

What an absolute treat! This morning we ordered breakfast thru DoorDash, from Metro Diner. Everything was delicious. It also arrived hot -- credit to the Dasher who kept it in hot bags. I ordered their Bissell Breakfast and my wife had the biscuits and gravy with scrambled eggs. We were both very very happy with our choices. read more

The 1st time we went I was ok the service is bad but I gave them a second chance because they were busy well the second visit was just as bad as the first.. Overpriced food and maybe if our order would have been correct it might have been half decent. Go anywhere else to eat but definitely don't waste your time and money here read more

Found this place by mistake when we did a campus visit to Embry Riddle - mainly because we saw the Fishbone Restaurant next door. Excellent breakfast menu, polite and attentive staff and if you like large portions this is the place for you. 3 of us ate here and there was really enough food for six. Metro is known and is popular so expect a wait - but if you're hungry its worth it. read more

Walked in, the hostess stand had trash littered all over the floor. The cook in the back had burned something and made the entire place smell like smoke. Very good! The hash browns were the best I've ever had!!!! The juice tasted freshly squeezed, the biscuits and gravy were delicious!! It's a hectic place, but it is a diner after all so I can't complain. I have a tendency to be a little nervous so all the commotion was a slight bummer. Still ONE STAR! This establishment is way over priced for the meager fare they serve. The croissants were dry and hard, the sausage links were too spicy and the server not well trained. Had to request refills too many times and forgot to serve some of the order. The bathroom was out of toilet paper and the floor was wet. We've eaten at the metro diner in Dothan Alabama and had such a great experience we just knew we had to try this one in Daytona. The food did not disappoint. Everything was amazing. I had the Belgian waffle with sausage and gravy biscuits. It was so delicious. The biscuits were the best I have ever had. My wife got the chicken and waffles. Forewarning, the chicken is huge and my wife had to take off excess fried skin and cut it up just to be able to eat it. So if that's what you want, try getting them to give you half the amount of chicken (unless you like a ton of chicken of course). Easy to get in at 10:30A the Thursday before the race. Good menu selection and food was very good. My fruity waffle could have used a little more fruit but the berries were very fresh!!! Not good at all. Service was fair. Coffee was old and burnt. 10-20% more expensive than similar. Mashed potatoes were salty and over seasoned. Meatloaf looked like it was browned on grill too long. Green beans were fair. Glad they didn't ask if we wanted dessert. read more

I had been meaning to try this place ever since it was built, but only recently got the opportunity. I only live in Daytona for school im a native to New Jersey, where there is practically a diner on every corner. And I absolutely love diner food. As such I have pretty high standards in a diner. Due to the scarcity of diners in this area, I went in with only mediocre expectations, but not only were my expectations surpassed but so were my standards. As bold of a claim as it may sound im comfortable saying this is THE best diner I have ever been to. Immaculately clean and welcoming environment, noticed how good it smelled as soon as I walked in. Not like food and not like cleaning product either, just good. Food was incredible, if you like corned beef hash you won't find better anywhere else in Daytona, and the strawberry butter is a must try Great service, Sarah was the nicest server ive ever had, and I myself do that for a living It only took one visit to realize I will definitely be a regular here once I come back for the fall semester. My only complaint is that they close at 9, but they do open at 7 so I guess I gotta become a morning person. Gonna give the diners back home in Jersey some chances to re impress me, but it'll take a whole lot to do better than Metro Diner read more
