Yummy yummy yummy! The menu was varied from high calorie to vegetarian. I love the menu because I never know what I want to eat! My husband had the western omelette with a side of bacon and it was delicious! I had the corn beef hash with rye toast and it was fabulous! First of all we had an amazing greeting when we arrived with the door held wide open for us and a great big smile and were treated like specialty !!! ( manager? ) Greatly appreciated!!! We Just now ordered from the gluten free menu with mostly just basics that don't contain gluten like bacon eggs sausage omelets They have gluten free bread for toast for an extra 2 dollars The eggs were cooked perfectly as well the bacon and toast. ( over medium eggs) ( I love crunchy bacon) !! Our server was Shelby and she is a gem ! A hard worker and makes sure everything is good !!! Restaurant is clean and decorated nicely! The only negative thing is that the coffee is not good ! We've always had a good experience in Louisville KY location. Not so much at this one. Scrambled eggs were already cold, even though the potatoes were piping hot. The biscuits was barely warm. Kitchen staff needs a little better timing? And no managers were in sight or checking to see if customers were having a good experience. read more

Greeted as soon as we walked in the door and told that they'd seat us shortly. Friendly smiles all around. Our server Sahra (I hope I spelled that correctly ) was AMAZING!! She was on it. Took our drink order and we told her we were waiting on 2 others. She kept an eye on them and when the rest of our party arrived, she was there to take their order quickly. When we placed our food order, she was extremely patient, very clear when speaking and so pleasant. She seriously rocked. Another young lady delivered our food and i was not fond of her reaching over two of my guest waiting on me to grab my plate versus coming around (which there was plenty of space for it) and placing it herself in front of me. Anyhow, minor. I'm aware...but bugs me. I ordered the steak bowl and the meat was a little disappointing. Not tender and lots of tough meat pieces. This was my second visit here, the first being this past Fathers Day when my kids treated me to breakfast. Karen and I went for dinner and as we walked in she saw a server with Eggs Benedict and that was it - breakfast it is. I stuck with dinner and ordered the country fried steak and asked for fries as a sub for the mashed potatoes. Karen of course ordered Eggs Benedict with hashbrowns. Karen liked her breakfast, really like the hashbrowns which there was an ample portion of. My meal on the other hand I wouldn't order again. The flavors were good and the gravy was what I expected - but the fry on the steak was very well done and I assume that is what made the steak so tough to eat. The accompanying broccoli was really fresh and bright - very good. The service was efficient and the manager stopped by twice during our meal. I should have mentioned my issues to him - but it may have just been my preferences and not a spec issue. Last time we were here I ordered the chicken and waffles which were fantastic - my ONLY wish is that they were real chicken tenders and not bone in portions. Would be a nice option to those that like the original bone in chicken (which tasted FANTASTIC). read more

Metro has become my go to over fast food. The food is quite good and they certainly have leaps and bounds healthier food than fast food restaurants. This store is clean and the workers are quite amazing. Food is delivered piping hot and is very good. The prices are competitive but did I mention the food is quite good? I've had nothing but good experiences and food at this location. I believe you can schedule a reservation online but other than Sundays or track events it's not needed most days. read more

I ordered from here a week or so ago, posted the review on another site so I came here as well. The biscuits were as dry as the Sahara Desert while their "Canadian bacon" aka ham pieces were roughly the size of a quarter maybe a hair larger. The grits just had some bits of cheese thrown on top after they were already below w/e the melting point of cheese is b/c it was just a lump of quarter melted cheese and oil when I got it. Further, when I posted the review the manager responded asking me to reach out. I did reach out the following day and no response. Will never return to ANY Metro Diner. read more

First and foremost, the food here was excellent. There are so many items to choose from. I settled on the Pittsburgh with roast beef (choice of roast beef or pastrami) while my sister chose the Texas burger. My sandwich was piled high with thinly sliced roast beef, cheese, some coleslaw, and french fries! I guess I didn't read then description because the fries was a surprise to me- a welcoming one, though! It was served on thick sliced bread and thank goodness, too, because it was so juicy that by the time I got to the second half of my sandwich, the bottom of it was soggy. It was everything you'd expect from a diner. My sister enjoyed her burger, too. The staff was very friendly and plentiful. The place was a madhouse by the time we got there at 11 but we were seated right away and numerous staff checked on us throughout our meal. Complaints: I didn't take a star away because I feel this is a matter of preference. None of the sandwiches came with condiments, we had to ask for them. When my sis asked for mayo for her burger, they gave us a bunch of Helmans packets. Just warning my Yelpers out there-make sure you order condiments. read more

Would not return to this diner. Sat for at least 15 minutes before I needed to flag down the "hostess" to say that no one had come to the table. Once someone finally came she stated she didn't even know we were there. She had tables all over the place. No organization especially when it's pretty busy. We finally ordered, then updated about the delay due to online orders being filled first. We were then updated that there were 6 orders ahead of us. We decided to leave after people that arrived after us got their food before us. Honestly, how long does it take to make a burger with fries and chicken and waffles? Decided to try Metro diner for breakfast while we were in town. My friend always talked about a breakfast pizza on the menu. I didn't see it, We asked the waitress if it was a special? She said no, it's no longer on the menu. (Sad face) she agreed, that was one of her favorite menu items as well. Then says, hold on let me ask the kitchen manager if he will make you one. He said yes! We were very excited and happy for them going the extra mile, Great customer service! Breakfast was amazing! Why would you ever take this breakfast pizza off of your menu! Arrived about 6:30 on a Tuesday night. 6 tables occupied in the entire place. Waited 10 minutes to be acknowledged and then gave our drink and dinner order. 15 minutes later.. still no drinks. Our waitress was either in the back room or staring at the order screen at the food pickup window. Never got our drinks.. now it's 7:05... we walked out. Never again. Something is going on here. Menu is less than half of what it used to be. Wouldn't be surprised if they were closed down soon. Don't waste your time. read more

What a wonderful brunch/lunch spot! I was in town to attend my choir director's home going services and decided to stop here before heading home. I took a chance because the parking lot was super packed and there were people waiting outside. I was lucky enough to snag the last seat at the bar (party of one ). Bruce was my waiter and he was awesome! Despite how busy he was, he took his time to answer all of my questions and made some suggestions...being that it was my first time. I chose the chicken and waffles as it seem to be a favorite based on the orders I seen and hear being placed...(by the way the bar faces the kitchen so you can see all the magic happen lol). I also went with the Blueberry Hibiscus sweet tea....whew...just try it!!! AMAZING!! So my food comes out...what have I done!! Lol! You literally get a half a chicken...wing, breast, thigh and leg.... Oh yeah and cut up Belgian waffle. The chicken was seasoned to perfection, Golden with a nice crunch. The waffle was warm and complemented the chicken perfectly. Can you tell I was impressed?? Bruce had my to go box, bag and 'to go' Blueberry Hibiscus sweet tea ready for me ...(Thanks Bruce ) ...I barely made it through two pieces of chicken and half a waffle...and come to find out they have one in my home town Tampa!!
