Everything here is great ! I had the southern Benedict which was amazing ! My boyfriend had the chicken and waffles. The chicken was so moist and definitely seasoned perfectly they also gave us this pancakes syrup hot sauce mixer which was great . Will definitely be returning ! read more

Our first time here and we will be back. They operate like a smooth running machine and the entire staff was polite. The manager came over to ensure everything was okay and told us all of their food is homemade and told about some of the foods they are known for. Their sausage gravy on biscuits was some of the best I ever had. It was just the right consistency and the sausage was very flavorful. The omelet was huge and the scrapple was perfect with crisp edges. The portions are huge, we actually had a good bit leftover. We will definitely be back! read more

My boyfriend and I went this Sunday around 8 am.. during a rush , but per a friends recommendation we sat at the counter for our first visit to view "the show". The "show" was awesome. It is a very choreographed dance behind the counter. Limited space back there, but you can tell each employee knows their job and how to "gel" with the other workers. Our food was top notch. What I felt was impressive was watching the lady who was setting the plates up to the lamp area for distribution and calling out the orders, if the egg was not exactly right, she put them in the trash, got a clean plate and called out for another egg. The interaction of the staff was excellent. Our server was on point! She was right on with the coffee and the humor! The main Lady announced the tip. When my boyfriend and I got up to leave they all gave us a thank you. Food was excellent- home style. I had the sausage gravy and biscuits which came with Hash browns and two eggs. My BF had the huevos rancheros and he said they were awesome! I was so impressed by the "dance" behind the counter that I gave them a generous tip. Highly recommend it for breakfast. They don't lie, the portions are enormous, and the quality of the food was a cut above regular diner fare. We had biscuits and gravy which was tasty and filling. We also had the huevous rancheros which tasted good but was not prepared in a traditional manner. It is basically nachos with eggs on top. If you like nachos you will enjoy it but if you want huevous rancheros we would not reccomend it. The service was very good and employees worked together well to provide diners with an enjoyable experience. read more

The crab cake eggs Benedict was FANTASTIC!!! Our server, Brontie, was attentive, sweet, and genuinely kind. Tom (owner/manager?) came around after our meal and asked how everything was, truly caring about the people in this lovely diner! My mom had the chicken pot pie - it was also very good! We ordered bananas foster cheesecake to go and I have no doubt it will be delicious. The atmosphere and decor was also perfect! Everything was wonderful! Definitely try it out! read more

I had the bold city burger and it was good but not great. I expected something a little more unique. The table also had the chosen salad sandwich and the chicken pasta. Both were good but not great. I think it is a better breakfast place. read more

We were so excited to try this place because they have great reviews and it's nearby. We finally made it here for lunch one day it wasn't that busy we were seated after waiting five minutes. Our waitress comes over and take our drink order immediately we notice that there were big white dandruff flakes falling out of her hair. She is around food this is unacceptable. We spoke with the manager explained our concerns and why it's disturbing that our waitress has things out her hair ... didn't seem like a big deal to him yes he offered to switch our waiter but we just could not get this image out of our head. So disappointed that this was not addressed with the waitress and we had to point it out to the manager. You work with food you should look presentable and clean. We ended up just leaving and not eating our food. The food looked so good so disappointed in the lack cleanliness when it came to this specific waitress. read more

Me and my husband went here this morning. We went to the one right on 202. Lovely staff and the food was delicious. It came out very quickly and hot! Will definitely be returning. I ordered the cinnamon roll pancakes and my husband ordered the chicken and waffles. The pancakes were so fluffy and decadent, and the chicken just fell off the bone. Amazing place! read more

Stopped in for chicken and waffles and left amazed. Top notch staff, top notch food. One of the nicest managers I've ever met in any restaurant. Went today for a late lunch. We were seated promptly, and the place was clean. We did wait a bit for our waitress, but another person noticed the wait and got us our drinks. We ordered and got our food pretty quick. The food was great as always. Service, Food, Atmosphere, all good. read more

Went out this morning for breakfast with a group of 10. The place was packed but for a good reason. It was clean, the service was prompt and friendly. They handled a group of 10 with ease and did desperate checks for us. I had the San Francisco Benedict and it was delicious. Food was hot and hash browns were crispy. The portions were huge and others plates ordered included cream chipped beef, sausage gravy, fresh waffles, all looked outstanding. I would absolutely go back next time I am in the area and I am thankful we stopped in!! read more

Went there for dinner tonight and had the chicken pot pie , you could tell it we home made. it was very good and I would get it again. The food came out very hot, it didn't take long for the food to come at all. Oh and the fish and chips is very good. The service was very good. read more

When traveling I always check out Yelp when looking for a place to eat and the Metro Diner was a great breakfast spot. Any place that has the word Diner in the name conjures up for me home made meals made with fresh and local ingredients and this place had both. Eggs were fresh and fluffy, toast cut wide and thick, coffee keep it coming and it was, hash browns chopped thick with a nice crunch. I looked around to see what other diners were eating and the waffles with fresh fruit, strawberries and blueberries piled high well let's just say I'll be back to try that tomorrow. Our platters were full of food many diners taking their left overs home and my tummy was full too. Bathrooms clean and the service was great! Highly recommend this Diner to anyone who is hungry and looking for a good meal. On a side note the kitchen is open to diners and you can hear the chef barking orders guaranteeing a good meal and a great show. read more

Not bad. Food was OK but I have had better. There were numerous employees running around, no less than 10 times we were asked if everything was OK, if we needed more coffee, etc, also one employee stopped at our table twice to give us a long, drawn out story of her life, very nice but our food is getting cold. I am willing to give them another shot at some point in the future. The men's room is way too small, only a one seater. Def could expand that. And they better start serving scrapple! This is Delaware for Pete's sake. Addendum: 2 meals here - and 2 cases of the squirts within an hour. I'm done here. read more

Food quality was higher than other chain diners. I got waffles & chicken with strawberry butter & maple syrup. Waffles were crispy, chicken was fresh, juicy & crispy & the strawberry butter was delicious. But what made this dish extraordinary was the spicy maple syrup that it was served with. It was just diluted maple syrup with hot sauce & was the perfect condiment for this sweet & savory dish. Definitely coming back. read more

I heard about this place from a few people and finally got a chance to try it for breakfast. The food is good and they give very large portions, we had enough leftovers for another whole meal. I had no idea this place had only been open a couple of weeks when I went there, but despite that I'm most definitely glad I went. The food at Metro Diner has to be some of the best Diner food I've had in a long while, everything is home-made from what I could tell and is absolutely delicious on top of that. I had The Bissell Breakfast which had home-made hash browns or home fries (your pick), bacon, eggs (any style you want) and two pancakes which are pretty big and tasty, and finally you also got some toast to go along with all the amazing breakfast foods this dish already provides. Metro Diner is definitely worth checking out if you ask me, especially if you're a fan of Diner's to begin with. The food is delicious and home-made, the staff are very kind and the costumer service is amazing, they sell shirts and hats to anyone who's interested, plus if you wear said shirt or hat you get a discount, how awesome is that? Even if there is a wait when you go it's worth it, trust me, it's also worth the money and they have very reasonable prices. You definitely get your money's worth at Metro Diner. All in all Metro Diner is the best diner I've been to in a long time and for anyone looking for a good hearty and delicious meal, whether it be breakfast, lunch, or dinner, Metro Diner is where you want to go for all that and more. read more

We have been there 3 times since they opened. Twice in one day because I saw they had meatloaf on the menu. The waitress informed us, after we ordered breakfast, they have everything on the menu all the time, so I could have had meatloaf for breakfast. The breakfast is good. The meatloaf was the best I have had. The staff is friendly. The managing partner makes the rounds and makes you feel welcome. Go early for breakfast... before7:45 if you don't want to wait. Sorry for the late post, on the opening day my family and I went Here around 9 AM. All of our food Came out cold and when we told the food runner she gave my mom an attitude and she was too excited. When our food Came Back it was warm not hot at all. The Chicken and waffles were good but the food wasn't the best. My pancakes were plain, the eggs were cold my moms steak was Little and didn't have the best flavor. I probably won't return! read more
