Noticed Callahan's was nearby and I had never ate there so I decided to pop in for a visit. One look over the appetizer list and I immediately knew I had to get the Irish Egg Rolls which consist of cabbage, corned beef, and shredded mozzarella and is served with a side of mustard and thousand island dressing for dipping. The egg rolls were perfect deep fried and had that great corned beef and cabbage flavor and they tasted wonderful dipped in mustard. I would definitely get these again and again in the future. For the burger I just went with their classic smash burger with pepper jack cheese. It was really good, a standard burger. Nothing bougie, nothing fancy. Just a nice, classic burger with great flavor. Came with your standard toppings. Lettuce, pickle, tomato, onion, and ketchup, mayo, and mustard on the side. Service and staff was friendly and made me feel very welcome. It felt like one of those places that remembers the names of all of their regular customers. I loved the atmosphere of the place and I look forward to a future visit to try more of the menu.

When we were finally sat, no one did a drive by to let us know about drinks or ordering. Another 10 minutes and we ended up leaving. The place was lively and a band was on stage which was set up for half the restaurant. I can appreciate that set up so the whole restaurant is not in front of the band. It felt like a lot of locals which is great for them. Maybe this isn't a spot to consider if you don't have hours to hang out. Unfortunately, we weren't able to dine so can't comment on the food.

When we checked in, the hostess said they were clearing a table and it would be about another 10 minutes. The place was absolutely packed, so I was already questioning that original wait estimate. Somehow, though, we were seated almost immediately. Our server, Vartan, greeted us quickly and had drinks on the table before we knew it. The restaurant was loud and busy, but that's pretty much the Texas Roadhouse environment. Despite the crowd, Vartan stayed friendly, worked fast, and did his best to keep up with everything we needed. The kids ordered their usual meals: a kids burger, chicken tenders, and fries. My wife ordered a half rack of ribs with a salad and green beans. I decided to try something different and ordered the beef tips over seasoned rice with fresh vegetables. Vartan kept the rolls and drink refills coming, which made the kids very happy. Those rolls didn't stand a chance around our table. The food took a little while, but the restaurant was slammed, so that was understandable. The kids enjoyed their meals, and my wife's ribs looked tender enough to fall right off the bone. Apparently, it's Rib Fest, and she definitely seemed happy with her choice. My beef tips came out closer to medium or medium-well, even though I ordered medium-rare. Since they were chopped beef tips mixed with gravy and mushrooms, it wasn't a major problem. The seasoned rice tasted great with the gravy, beef, and mushrooms. A few mushrooms were a little overcooked or charred, but that may have been intentional. I wasn't a fan of the sour cream added on top, so I scooped it off and moved on with my life. The tableside payment tablet was convenient, especially with our server handling so many tables. There was still a huge line waiting outside when we left, so I was thankful we got seated quickly and enjoyed a good family dinner without spending half the evening waiting. Overall, it was a solid visit. Good food, great service from Vartan, plenty of rolls, and a surprisingly fast seat for such a packed Thursday night. Bigfoot approved.

On our first visit, we were shown our booth and didn't have to wait although now that it has taken off, the wait time can be awhile depending on when you go, but believe me, it is very worth the wait! The atmosphere is geat! Cafe type, nicely decorated, staff is knowledgeable about all the menu, quick and eager to please but not intrusive! Very friendly! Our order was delivered quickly, food was hot and nicely presented! Beverages were kept full! Staff was great! During our meal, the manager stopped by to say hello! Introduced himself and let us know about the resturant as it was new in the area! Asked us if we had tried the Chipped Beef on Toast! We grew up eating that so knew we had to try it next time. He brought us a sample of it and it was fabulous! As good as my grandmothers and that is a great compliment! Second time we came in and had the Chipped Beef on Toast with Hashbrowns! It was fabulous! Really, really good! Gravy was marvelous, smooth with just the right amount of chipped beef! It was delcious! There is a great selection on the menu so that everyone will find something they like! From the moment I walked in, the customer service stood out -- warm, welcoming, and attentive without being overbearing. It set a positive tone for the meal. I ordered the Bissell Breakfast, which came with scrambled eggs, sausage, and grits. Everything on that plate was well-prepared and delicious. The eggs were fluffy, the sausage was flavorful, and the grits had just the right texture -- creamy and comforting. However, the pancakes were a letdown. They lacked flavor and moisture, tasting as though they were made with just water and mix, without any added richness or depth. They didn't quite match the quality of the rest of the meal, which was disappointing. Despite that, I'd still consider it a nice experience overall. My sister had mentioned shrimp the other day so rather than driving out to the beach for it we decided to go to Metro for the shrimp and grits. We both love Metro Diner's shrimp and grits and this visit did not disappoint either. It was just as good as always. She had mentioned that she didn't think there was a much shrimp as there usually is but I had 10 pieces and in the long run she figured out that some of hers were hidden inside the delicious gravy. We were both so hungry that we could have finished the entire bowl but we took enough home for another complete meal. They put so much delicious gravy, shrimp and andouille sausage in the bowl that there is plenty to go around. read more

We had dinner here last night, and my husband's chicken came out under cooked. Before we could even flag the waitress down, one of the cooks saw our reactions and started making a fresh batch of fried chicken. He then quickly made an awesome "off the menu" appetizer for my husband while he waited for his meal. They ended up removing the meal from the bill, and gave us gift cards to use for our next time at Metro Diner. They went above and beyond to turn a bad situation into a great experience for us!! We visited here in May of 2017. We were actually looking for Georgie's Diner but this looked good so we tried it. Very nice modern place and the staff is pleasant. I just had a standard egg, toast and home fries breakfast. Can't say it was fabulous but it was very good. Not sure why people rave about chicken and waffles. I never heard of that and it sounds weird to me who grew up in Southern New England. But overall, a nice clean American food restaurant. Seems to do a good morning business with the locals which is a good sign. read more

You might not know this but you can substitute the bone in chicken for tenders on their chicken and waffles plate. If there's anything that could cure my depression it would be that. There's a reason why this place seems to always be busy. There menu, service and turnaround time is awesome! Key word ~service~ as in attentive, but not hovering, as in quicker than normal beverage service and expediency when requesting the check! With the promo code, it was cheaper to order it for delivery than being there. Still, this is the best place for chicken and waffles. Our server was sweet and gave great recommendations. I got the French toast platter with eggs and bacon. I not a huge French toast guy but these were good. Food came out rather timely, coffee cup was always full. Talked some football with the staff and other customers. Overall just a good welcoming place for all. I will definitely be back.
