We had exceptional service last night at The Metropolitan Grill, thanks to our incredible waitress, Delonna. From start to finish, she was attentive, professional, and genuinely kind -- with the most amazing smile that made the whole evening even better. She recommended the ribeye, which was outstanding, and went above and beyond by bringing it to the table and thoughtfully cutting it into three distinct sections, explaining the different parts of the cut a level of care and knowledge you rarely see. Her suggestion of Pappy Van Winkle was equally spot-on and elevated the entire experience. Delonna struck the perfect balance of being present without hovering, and her warmth and polish truly set her apart. Outstanding service like hers is rare she made our night unforgettable. The service was outstanding, from valet to coat check to service and boxing up our food; my only hiccup was asking for just the crab cake and they added the slaw to my To go box with the crab cake. Mark was attentive and helpful for our weary mid-week bunch and trying to fit everything on our four top--he was a pleasure. The food good; most of the dishes were great with fresh flavor that highlighted the ingredients. The sourdough has delicious tang, the Caesar salad had the freshest anchovy I ever had, the tableside chateaub steak was a fun experience with great flavors and was cooked perfectly, the creamed spinach was perfectly spinach-y and spot on texture, and the baked potato was pillowy with the beecher's sauce (just missed a crumbled bacon option). My honey loved the potato cakes the most of the sides. The food bad: $205 wagyu steak was so charred it was difficult to taste the flavor of the steak itself. The temperature of the mushrooms and tomato were cold and barely cooked. The cumin in the crab cake slaw was overpowering for such a subtle meat. The chocolate sauce on the 9 layer cake made a perfectly good cake cloying. We had the Buy 2 get 2 dinners discount, which helped make the charred wagyu palatable, but I'm not sure we would return if the reputation is best steak in Seattle, Hamdi so far holds that title in our house. read more

Went to the Met for happy hour with a girlfriend yesterday, and I hadn't been in a while. Not to worry, it lived up to my memories! Great happy hour drinks (the house white was a little too sweet for my taste though), amazing service, and delicious food. It was easy to find bar seating at 4:15 but it was getting pretty busy as we were leaving around 6. Overall, had a great time for happy hour. read more

The meats were absolutely delicious. The filet mignon was so soft and juicy as well as the boneless ribeye. Both were very flavorful and went well the the potato cakes. The steak tartare was great and delicious as well. The texture was soft and a little chewy which was expected and overall perfect. The drinks we got looked pretty similar to each other so we quickly forgot which was which. The tropic sunset was my favorite and I would recommend if you are a sweet cocktail type of person. The nokesy was good too just a little stronger. The service was good and attentive to us. The sautéed mushrooms was a lot and was great paired with our steaks. The interior is very classy and elegant. There's valet parking for $16 outside as well so not complementary. Excellent service! Delicious food. Festive ambiance and a lovely place to go for a special occasion or if you're craving good steak or fine dining experience. The warm bread and butter was an experience in itself. Crusty, chewy and had the perfect amount of salt. We ordered the skirt, the del Monaco and a lobster tail. Each bite melted in our mouths. Seriously enjoying each chew and swallow. The desserts were off the hook. We shared a flourless chocolate something that was so decadent. We couldn't help ourselves as we said, mmmmmm after each bite. We also shared a creme brûlée which isn't usually our thing, but we went crazy over the candied top. Highly recommend. Back in the day, when I traveled to Seattle several team members recommended the Met and thereafter it was a regular stop for dinner. Staff is professional, courteous and attentive. This is to declare the Met the BEST STEAKHOUSE in Seattle! I've come to this rating after 3 years of rotating through all the other highly rated steak places in town, including the Butcher's Table, El Gaucho, Capital Grill, Bourbon Steak (now closed), Ascend, STK Steakhouse, Aqua, 67 Restaurant, Palisade, and Daniel's Broiler. The Met simply has the best meats, side dishes, table-side desserts, service... you name it! The Met delivers every time! Dry-aged USDA Prime Beef, grilled on mesquite charcoal, delicious, consistent, never a let down. By my reservation records, I dined here around 40 times since 2021 and will continue to do so. I usually get some combination of the 20oz bone-in Delmonico Steak, roasted bone marrow, baked potato, potato cakes, Caesar's salad, local oysters, lobster bisque, the salt service, table-side Bananas Foster, creme brulee, and, of course, their Martinis and beer on tab. This is a refreshingly old school, classic, upscale steakhouse decorated in wood, brass, and green velvet; every cozy booth comes with a little lamp and they also have a separate room with a long marble bar fitting for movie stars of the 60s. read more

Food was awesome and the service was also on point. Had to wait a little bit when we first walked in as the host was no where to be found for what felt like 10 minutes. We had the oysters and crab for appetizers. It came accompanied by cocktail sauce and mignonette sauce. I wish they had horseradish to enhance the sauces. Filet mignon was ordered with a side of asparagus. The steaks were cooked perfectly to the temperatures we ordered and the asparagus was also cooked perfectly. The side potatoes were delicious and the portions huge. The au jus that came with the steaks was money and enhanced the steaks. What a lovely dinner! We love a nice steak dinner and while in town, decided to check out Metropolitan Grill. Dan was our genial and knowledgeable server, and the whole service experience was lovely. Attentive without hurrying us in any way, as we started with the crab cakes and Caesar. Delightfully crab-ful and lightly breaded cakes over a delicious slaw; three was plenty for two! The Caesar had a very nice, slightly citrusy vinaigrette. The steaks were superb. My 8 oz filet was medium rare and tender; the light char was just right. The baked potato came with an assortment of condiments from melted butter to a dish style salt cellar with three options. My husband got the 4 oz duo with wagyu and promptly devoured it; the tender asparagus was just right. We were too full to eat the chocolate layer cake there so got it to go with packed up vanilla ice cream and enjoyed later at the hotel! read more

This may be the best high end steak house I have eaten in. And I have been to several on all the top ten lists. Every bit of food that came to the table was perfect. We had an amazing Chateaubriand and an American Waygu Rib Eye. While spendy, they were bot an excellent value and perfectly prepared. We came to the Met for our annual guys trip steakhouse dinner the night before the Niners @ Seahawks game on Wednesday the 9th. Dohui gave us A++ service. She was extremely knowledgeable of the menu, personable, & had a perfect sense of humor too. The steak I got was the Delmonico, I always get the ribeye on these road trips and wanted to try something different this night. I was a bit disappointed in my steak, not enough to send it back, I try to not do that. But the steak had about 5-6 bites with tendons/lining in it that I had to spit into my napkin, & sneak back on my plate. The creamed spinach was really good, as was the baked potato. I was also blown away by the wine & crème brûlée. Overall Dohui made the night awesome, along with good wine & company. I would recommend The Met, & will come here again, next time trying the filet or ribeye. read more

The restaurant was very welcoming with a really nice ambiance. We made our reservation earlier that same day for the evening and had no issues at all. The front desk lady was warm and welcoming, which set a great tone right away. JENNIFER was absolutely wonderful -- attentive, friendly, and very accommodating throughout our meal. When the cocktail I wanted wasn't on the menu and also wasn't available, she suggested great alternatives and explained them clearly. My wife ordered the prawns scampi, I had the Delmonico, and everything was delicious. The steak was excellent, and the flambéed Banana Foster was amazing -- shoutout to MICHAEL for making it! One of my favorite spots for steaks in Seattle with classic steakhouse digs. Phenomenal selection of steaks with awesome quality beef from double r ranch. Steaks are cooked perfectly and they do an incredible job rendering the fat down out of the steaks. I got the ribeye which was great, but there was a bit of grissel in the steak that surprised me. Hoping the quality of the meat isn't going down. The Mac and cheese is out of this world, I believe they are using beechers cheese and somehow making it better than beechers themselves. Cocktails aren't the best in my opinion. Started with the nokesy which sounded like a cool bourbon cocktail. Unfortunately it was way overly sweet, poorly balanced losing the bourbon, and overpowered with the lavender. The bartender almost knew it wasn't a great drink, asked me how I liked it, and offered to make me another drink if I didn't like it. I told him I'd take the Manhattan. Much better, but nothing crazy, just a simple classic. The place was pretty quiet for a Saturday night my last visit here. And it does seem to have lost a bit of the finesse and vibrancy it used to have. Maybe other steakhouses are starting to outshine here, or perhaps the quality has been reducing. read more

Had dinner twice in a week at "The Met". The steaks are top notch, the cocktails on point, and a few great choices of wine by the glass. The entire staff was helpful, cheerful and extremely polite and professional. As i dined at the bar both nights , two individuals really stood out with their amazing service and hospitality. As a tourist i gained local knowledge on everything from the nightlife to information on where the beef is sourced. Rob Nokes, the lead bartender is what a real bartender should be. Great conversation and excellent attentive service. The second evening Matt James was our bartender and was remarkable as well. Such a great evening. Ordered the following: Spirit free spiced pear spritz - refreshing, nicely spiced and not overpowering Crab cake a la carte - the crab cake was packed with crab and had minimal fillers, nicely pan fried, could have been served without the salad at the bottom as the salad tasted a bit fishy Prime tenderloin bites - tasted like beef teriyaki, the beef was good but was covered in too much citrus soy sauce Works burger - a good sized, juicy burger that has a nice smoky mesquite grilled flavor served with perfectly fried potato wedges. One of the best burgers I've had in a long time and the fried potato wedges were the best I've ever had. Bacon wrapped tenderloin skewers - wish then tenderloin pieces weren't fatty and less sauce covered the skewers The works burger was the highlight of the happy hour menu. Seattle and this area has so many restaurants to try, sometimes it's difficult to repeat a visit. This time we went with friends. Food: 4.9 / 5.0 Apps: - Caesar salad with white anchovies - House green salad with candied walnuts, Anjou pears, Gorgonzola cheese, Dijon mustard vinaigrette - Wedge salad with Gala apples, grape tomatoes, toasted hazelnuts, Point Reyes blue cheese, honey cured slab bacon Entrees & sides: - 2 x "Dinner for Two" with the Chateaubriand option. Each set featured the following: -- A 24 oz. tender, juicy, center-cut, medium rare filet mignon "roast" carved tableside and served with "Cliff sauce" made from the extra "jus". -- Two whole tomatoes grilled and topped with melted Parmesan "crowns" -- Grilled mushroom caps -- Baked potatoes and asparagus all around - Side: Brussel sprouts roasted with bacon, topped with pickled red onions Desserts: - Chocolate lava cake - Cheesecake with a roasted hazelnut crust, honey brûlée, raspberry coulis, and Chantilly cream - Bananas Foster Overall, almost everything tasted great, meticulously prepared, and well-presented. My favorite steakhouse in the city. Everything was perfection as always. A few things. The waghu chicken fried steak was so good but needs more sausage grave. You can always ask for more but I hope the chef considers serving more gravy with this item. Brunch is being offered for Seahawks home games. Open at 10a to 2pm. Highly recommend making reservations. The bar is first come first serve so get there. Yes there were a few idiots that acted entitled asking folks in line if the have reservations. Then there was the idiot that lied and said he had to use the bathroom just to get in but was saving a bar spot. Met Grill has nothing to do with idiots. The staff was amazing in how they handled the crowd. Impressive Luciana and Amero ( think that was the spelling. Best duo. Service was seamless and their attitudes remained lovely and upbeat the entire time. Yes Met Grill is expensive but you receive impeccable service and food. No valet at that time but plenty of free street parking. Read the signs though. Grateful that they still have the best dessert ever..white chocolate coconut cake..takes all of your worries away. On game day you can wear your jerseys. I'm really happy to see Met Grill booming after covid. The only steakhouse in the city that has maintained their level of service and food quality after covid. I lost my mind here. I was taken here for a no expense spared dinner. since this is a rare occasion for me, I vow to start out sensibly. After an appetizer and drinks, I go commando. I want to try everything on the menu possible. I know I will rarely visit here again, so I want the fullest experience possible. We started with the valet parking and perused the pictures of celebrities here. I was with a party of four. Pretty impressed with the ambiance and skilled waiters. our first order was for drinks. I got the best lemon drop of my life. Next, appetizers. The iced shellfish platter was ordered. I wanted their Maine lobster bisque. But, the platter of Half shell oysters, Prawns, Dungeness crab legs and Maine lobster was so fresh and good. Honestly, getting a little full. But my fellow diners are on an ordering frenzy. For pasta, two orders of Dungeness Crab and Prawn Fettuccine. This has Mesquite grilled prawns, Dungeness crab, red onions,mushrooms,ParmigianoReggiano, alfredo, herbed breadcrumbs. Decadent with the amount of seafood it contains. Next,The Met "Long Bone" Ribeye*, which is American Wagyu, served sliced. Such a robust taste and incredibly tender. Had Creamed Spinach, which is Topped with sharp cheddar cheese. Makes you look spinach. I don't think any seahorse restaurant is complete without a starch. We got both the Roasted Baby Carrots, with Harissa yogurt, crushed pistachio, feta cheese. These carrots were so sweet roasted and the other elements added to the dish. Next, we had the richness of Mac & Cheese. This was Seattle's own Beecher's Flagship cheddar, toasted breadcrumbs. Very creamy and a welcome crunch from the breadcrumbs. I am sooooo full. The table orders the bana foster table side. I must maintain my dining dignity and eat this incredible dessert along with my table mates. Oh, I love the combination of flavors in this dessert. Really, have to restrain myself from eating more. So delicious and I am so full. I im reliving this experience in the future. For those who love food, this was an ultimate eating experience. Have to note the excellent service, appropriate food temps on each item and the care shown to every detail. To me, this was an ultimate in food happiness. Every single item we tried was absolutely delicious. From the second, we walked in to the second we left we were surrounded by genuinely kind people who truly love their job. The entire experience was amazing and since they only have the bar area open with a few tables reserved for families, it was a small table. But that's why more people need to go to their lunch so they can have bigger tables! I was dining solo and decided to sit at the bar as it was lively and I was able to watch tv. I dined during happy hour and was able to take advantage of their wine specials. I ordered the dungeness and king crab cakes and they were very meaty with very little breading. They were good, but I have had better. The show stopper was the coconut cake. I can see why this has been on their menu for 40 years. It is the BEST coconut cake that I have ever had and the slices are huge! I could only eat half and I barely managed that. The next day it was even more delicious. I was so in love, I immediately did a google search to find a comparable recipe to no avail. If it was not for their amazing bartender Rob Knocks, I would not have known that Finale's bakery provides their cakes. One of these days, I am going to fly to Seattle and take a whole cake home!
