This place has gone down hill!! They weren't all that great before they temporarily closed. But we decided to give them a try right after they reopened and it was horrible. The chips were stale and when we asked for more chips they said they were out and had to get some from another location. Food wasn't all that great and my wife said the margarita tasted like disinfectant cleaner. It's sad, this used to be our favorite Mexican food place. read more

Food is great and so is management. I ordered take out and when I arrived to pick it up I saw that the order was slightly different than what it should have been. The manager came up and asked what was wrong and I told her the order wasn't correct and that she could just add the enchilada that we were missing and it would be fine. She said no, we'll fix you new plates and you can have both of them plus your original order. That's called making up for a mistake in a big way. Most other restaurants would have just said "sorry" and taken the plate back and put an extra enchilada on it. Thank you! We will be coming back again! read more

My husband and I love this place but our last visit was not good. I ordered chicken fajitas and they brought beef. Then they bring the chicken fajitas and they are drowning in water and look horrible. I sent them back and someone came out and said "we got you chicken " and I said yes but they did not look right and I don't want swimming chicken fajitas and they just did not seem to really see the issue. I will applaud them for not charging me for them but it was a not a good experience and that makes me sad as usually they are pretty solid and consistent with their food. read more

My husband LOVES the Mexican rice and chicken. It comes with a yummy chalupa. We also really like the "Fritos" they are hot made fresh corn chips. Cool change from your norm and delicious. I know it's silly but the cokes and tea come in huge glasses so you're not constantly trying to get refills. My waiter happily provided hot corn tortillas to snack on. I had the fajitas and they were perfect. Very tender and sizzling hot. We also had chalupas cumpuesto. Very good. Nice and fresh. Margaritas are strong. We got our own little bowls of chips and hot sauce so no double dipping issues lol. Tyler our waiter was VERY efficient and sweet. I'm a 60 year customer of Mexican Inn and have been to the Keller location several times. Our favorite waiter is/was Robert. The last two times were miserable. Several weeks ago we went during an off time and ordered Fajitas. The waiter was new so we were very patient and tipped him well despite all of the problems he was having. Hardly any staff and he was trying to work several tables, make tortillas, etc. The food tasted like someone dumped a pound of salt on the fajita onions/bell peppers. I didn't say anything and now wished I did. We went earlier this week, around 6:00PM and the hostess told us it was a 45 minute wait. Most tables were empty and not that many cars in the parking lot. Bottom line is this location has big problems at this time. We have been there when it was great. I will always be a customer of Mexican Inn (yes I love their original chips and Tiffin Hall), but I think we will start going to the Bedford location. read more

This location has really gone down hill. First, when something is good, do not change it. The refried beans and rice are 100% NOT the same as they used to be. My family has been going to the E Lancaster location for as long as it has been open. The food was always consistently good there. I can't say the same for the Keller location. Second, 3 of our dishes came out last night with undercooked ground beef. That is a BIG NO! Yes, they were slammed and we had a huge table, but that is simply unacceptable. Welcoming and efficient. After a bad experience at another restaurant, this was a fabulous surprise of customer service/food. Before I was even all the way seated by the personable host, chips and salsa were being brought to the table (love the idea of fresh tortilla chips and corn chips mix!) and waitress was there to take drink order and bring fresh warm corn tortillas and butter. The combo lunch fajitas were hot and delicious. Made a change and wanted no rice or refried beans and asked for charro beans and there was no up charge (like at most restaurants) and they were hot/fresh/delicious. Guacamole was fresh and very flavorful as was the pico de gallo. The salsa was yummy!! Will definitely be back soon. read more

Don't waste your time. We used to go here often. It has really gone downhill. Their food prep is sloppy. We've complained about it, but I'm afraid they just don't care. We tried again tonight. This is an update to my initial review. It's been over two years since I first came to this location. I decided today that I would give the place another try. I'm a believer of second chances and really wanted this place to change up a few things so I could love it since it's within walking distance of my house. Upon entering I was surprised that it still felt new and clean. Most restaurants feel much older than they are due to lazy cleaning habits. I went in at about 230 pm during a slow time however there were a couple of tables enjoying food and drinks. The bartender greeted me at the door and showed me to a booth. She was incredibly nice and informative. She asked me if I had ever been here before and instinctively I said no as I wanted to see if the service would be any different. She recommended several items and stated that she enjoyed most of what they offered. I ordered off of the lunch menu and it came out relatively quick. The chips were fresh and the salsa was a flavorful blend. I had a taco an enchilada with rice and beans. I honestly wasn't expecting it to be fantastic but it was. I was impressed that the taco wasn't soggy as before and the enchilada had flavor this time. All in all I'd say this was a total improvement from my first visit. I'd like to further compliment Betty my server, she did everything and more right down to the finest details of her hospitality. I am happy to update my past review as well as add this restaurant back to the list of places I bring my family in the future. read more

First time here. Pleasantly surprised. The fresh corn chips were outstanding. The chicken enchiladas were a little dry on the inside, but the sour cream sauce was on point. I gave this location two stars only because of the yummy chips and homemade corn tortillas. The service is consistently horrendous. Servers are mostly friendly, but the amount of time we have to wait to get served - every time we come here - is ridiculous. Especially when the restaurant is almost empty and three servers are loitering by the kitchen talking and doing god knows what besides waiting on customers. Tonight, I saw five different employees glance over at our table while I was obviously looking around for someone to wait on us. All of them just ignored us. I blame management. First time here last night. Husband wanted Mexican food, but we didn't feel like going all the way over to our normal spot. We sit down and after a min or so, chips and salsa are delivered to our table. The girl dumped the salsa all over the table and it would have gone all over my husbands lap, if he didn't have the menu opened already. It acted as a guard. He didn't say anything to her, but I could see he was upset in his eyes. One of the salsas was ok, the other 2 choices taste like spaghetti sauce. It was weird. The chips are definitely store bought, boo. The food was ok. Server was nice. But all n all, we will drive the extra 15 min to our normal spot when we're craving Mexican food. read more

The worst chips and salsa I have ever had. As soon as I saw the chips I knew I was in for a bad experience. They were basically Fritos. The salsa was just a can of tomato sauce emptied into a bowl with maybe a little salt and pepper added. The entree, chicken fajitas, was disappointing, too. Stopped by Mexican Inn Cafe to give it a shot. Being from Arizona, it's been hard to find good Mexican food in North Texas. I had a bad feeling about things when our table was served "tortilla chips" that were basically Fritos. Thick corn strips friend on location- fresh but I could not get the Frito chip out of my head. The chips were served with a very "canned" salsa- so not off to a good start. The menu was small, meaning the options were few. I ordered the chicken fajita burrito with rice and beans. The chicken was decent, wish there was more of it in the burrito though. It had plenty of onions however, big chunks of them. I had to pick a few out there we so many- wished there was a better balance in volume between the onions and green peppers. The rice was pretty flavorless so I skipped that, and the refried beans were pretty runny. Overall, meal was so-so. Our server was nice, but the place was busy so it took some time to get a check when we were finished. Not sure I'd come back- nothing on the menu really stood out as "I need to come back and try that plate" and what I ordered was mediocre. This is a chain restaurant that serves chain food. The first thing I didn't like where the chips, too thick and crumby. The salsa could use some peppers in it, and the queso blanco was pretty thick. The price is a bit high for the amount of food you get and the quality was average at best. (Taco Bueno quality). Service was good but was rushed with the check when they where almost empty. I've lived down here in Texas for 6 years and this was by far, the worst Mexican / Tex-Mex I've had. Everything from the chips to the rice and beans was incredibly bland. I had the fajita chicken burrito and the chicken was similar to the quality you would get at Taco Bell. I know it's hard to complain about free chips and salsa, but the chips are basically homemade Fritos. The salsa was good though. The service was ok and everyone seemed nice. Which seemed to somewhat makeup for the terrible food. There are seriously at least 15 other Mexican restaurants within a 3 mile radius of this place that are a thousand times better. We were actually going to Spring Creek BBQ close by tonight Wednesday but since we have not been to any of their gazillion location Tex-Mex won over. It seems people either love it or hate this particular one. We got here about right before 8, It didn't look crowded but the hostess had us wait. Of the booths that were in the front both had dishes that had not been taken off. Ten minutes later we were seated at the northern one. Donald the bartender took our drink order of iced tea. We weren't ready to order but minutes later we were but then waited 10 more minutes before waving him down. The chips and tea were brought before hand so we weren't starving. I ordered the El Everything which was named after the gambler who started the empire and I enjoyed reading the history of the place which began in 1936. Food was decent and the guacamole was the best part. PH gave me hers since she doesn't eat it. Since the menu mentioned tortilla I asked our waiter to bring butter or margerine and he wrote it down. The food arrived and it was a lot for the price of mine which was $ 12.29, Just as we were finishing up I remembered the tortillas never came. I waved him down and I asked for just one. He brings 3. But no butter or the other stuff. I ask him for it and he slides over to the booth behind PH and brings over the pats that had been sitting over there. Nothing bothers me given the state of getting competent restaurant help anymore. And I never complain to managers except for rudeness or bad food. If we do go back we'll just try a different one. I just hope someone in ownership reads this and straightens out the multitudes of omissions this location has. The one tortilla I ate wasn't special but I was stuffed. read more

The food was good for the price I gave! The portions are huge so I had to split with my friend but even while splitting the food I was full!! The beef burrito was delicious and had just the right amount of beef in it and the queso on top was delicious! The only thing I would change would be the stale frito-like chips that was served as an appetizer. read more

This place fires on all cylinders except for one. We visited for the first time the other night. Upon entry, I really liked the atmosphere. The bar has ample seating and multiple TV's. We were promptly seated in the dining room and received stellar service throughout our visit. So why the two stars? The food. I just didn't care for it. It did not seem fresh. The refried beans had a very odd flavor to them; I even asked my wife to taste them to validate my opinion and she concurred. My son ordered cheese nachos. The cheese nachos consisted of taco shells broken in half with melted cheddar as if they had been heated in a microwave. My son said the "chips" seemed stale. I really appreciate the fact that we are getting several new restaurants in Keller, and I was excited to see this place open up. But there are other very good options in the area. So here's my take: Salsa & chips--2out of 5--tasted like it came out of a can. Chips too thick--fresh, yeah maybe. We ordered beef fajitas--3 out of 5. The best things--fresh corn tortillas served with lots of butter. I am giving two stars because when you are in the Resturant it's not that bad. However, I ordered out from this restaurant and this is the third out of three times they grievously messed up my order. It is always something, a missing set of tortillas to completely dropping an entree or two from the order. Tonight when my mother and I went to pick it up we were missing two entrees, and when they fixed our order were out of rice, at 8:00 on a Friday night out of rice and their solution was double beans. So now my cheat meal is ruined, I might as well have gone to Taco Bell for the quality of meal and service I received. read more

This may be a strange review but we sat at the bar as it's pre-season football and wanted to watch some FB. All 6 TVs were showing cooking shows or similar. NO sports at all! We asked the bartender if we could change one of the channels to football. NOPE. Because none of the remote controls had batteries so they can't change the channels. We choose to eat here for cinco di Mayo, unfortunately they had no happy hour menu or specials for this special Mexican day. We ordered a strawberry cream margarita and a mango tango margarita unfortunately they had little to no alcohol in there because I'm a light weight and after a good sip of a margarita I'm typsy the strawberry cream did not hit me at all which means there was little to no liquor in it. For dinner We ordered the chicken street taco and brisket street tacos which tasted good but the rice and beans were cold. Very disappointed first time . Won't come again read more
