This is now the sad excuse for their famous Brisket Quesadillas!! What a shame they have gone so downhill!!!

Wow! Sooo disappointed! We used to be regulars, and now? Such a rip off and staff seems like they hate being there! Something has changed, and it's sad to see! The next sign we will see from Baja is "CLOSED"! Sad

Yummy! As always! Came for my usual tortilla soup. Can't ever come in town without stopping here. :)

Finally soup season! Chicken tortilla soup

This was my first time eating at this location, as we usually frequent the Roanoke one, and I've been to the NRH once or twice. Just as pleased with this one as I am with Roanoke - it's finally getting cooler so I started off with tortilla soup, because I had yet to try BC's version (and I'm a bit of a tortilla soup snob) and it was DELICIOUS. This is is exactly how tortilla soup is supposed to taste and the ingredients it should have (get those huge pieces of tomato and corn and other veggies outta here!) - flavorful broth, chicken, white cheese, avocado, tortilla strips, chopped cilantro & a lime slice on the side. So many places do way to much, and it's this simple! This will be a fave of mine to order during these cold months for sure. And the price is definitely reasonable. I make tortilla soup at home a few times a year, but it is a little tedious so it's nice to just order and eat while it's hot. Enchiladas, rice and beans are exactly what I'm looking for from a Mexican restaurant. And, maybe this was a fluke, but the salsa was not too hot for me to eat! Normally the salsa at the other locations is way too spicy to eat (and my husband agrees, and he has a fairly high spice tolerance) so I was pleased to be able to enjoy those this time. That's the only thing I wish was different about BC. This location doesn't look quite as picture-perfect as the Roanoke one - it does still have some painted walls though - but the staff is good and the food comes out quick, hot and delicious. And that's what matters the most.

My wife and I have gotten in the habit of going to Baja Cantina for lunch on Sundays. They have some great brunch items. We started with chips and salsa. Their salsa is very flavorful with a good kick to it. Some of my favorite salsa around. Next, we had the roasted corn. This is one of our favorite items on the menu. For the main dish, we had chilaquiles. Absolutely amazing. 10/10 recommend this restaurant.

I ordered the Number 5 plate, which included a taco, guacamole tostada, rice, and beans. The presentation was excellent, making the meal both eye-catching and appetizing. The restaurant is conveniently located in an upscale shopping center, adding to the overall dining experience. While I don't care for chunky salsa, I would want it to be a little thicker and more flavorful. It came with two other salsas, which I did not care for. I did have to ask for a refill of salsa. I always get excited seeing mole and spicy options on the menu, so I got the cheese enchilada with mole and spicy chipotle sauce. I wasn't warned about the spice level, and it was very spicy with a strong chipotle taste that I couldn't eat. I also wasn't checked on to make sure I enjoyed the food, and I had to flag the server down for my check. I was expecting this place to be better.

As soon as you walk in, you're greeted by the staff, and everyone has always been super friendly. The music is loud and energetic, and there always seems to be a good crowd enjoying their food, which gives the place a really fun, vibrant atmosphere. There are a few tables and booth and bar seating available. I've had the street taco platter twice now, and it is SO good. I've tried the pastor, asada, and barbacoa, and the pastor is definitely my favorite. The platter comes with rice and beans in addition to your choice of meat for three tacos. I also love that it comes with a spicy verde salsa and limes! The queso is another favorite. It's delicious, and they give you a really generous portion. I've ordered chips and queso both times, and there's plenty for one person. And if you're a margarita person, their to-go margaritas are such a fun bonus! They seal them up so you can safely take them home. Price-wise, it seems comparable to other Mexican restaurants in the area. My street taco platter, chips, and queso came out to around $25, which I think is pretty reasonable for the amount of food. Both times I've stopped in for a to-go order, I've been in and out in under 10 minutes, which is a huge plus. Definitely recommend checking this place out if you're looking for street tacos in the area.

And the music was fun, hip, danceable, celebratory Latino music. The wait staff, hostess and servers were all friendly and delivered excellent service. The drinks were awesome. I had a Carajillo and my wife and her friends got a bottle of champaign with three juices as a mimosa sampler (all for just $18!) I liked the chips, and they came with two different salsa - a roja and a very spicy verde. But they also brought some refritos beans to dip the chips into. How great is that? And it wasn't just their generosity that impressed me -- it was the flavor! We had a ceviche appetizer, and that was very good, but I'm spoiled on great ceviche and I wouldn't say it was as impressive as everything else we tried. Still, it was fresh and refreshing. I broke down and got the quesabirria tacos. That's a big cheat for my diet (one I'm now working off) but wow was it good - especially the consume to dip your taco in. So flavorful! So... five stars. We had a great time there and would happily return here again. Oh... and the same people own the restaurant across the street so we want to check that out, too. It's Mediterranean / Lebanese and I love that type of cuisine, too. Also... I LOVE the name of this restaurant. "La Cabrona" roughly translates to "the bad-ass, " and it's in the feminine form, so... referring to the female owner (it's owned by a couple with the wife focused on this restaurant and the hubby focused on the restaurant across the street). The term "cabrona" is sometimes not considered polite language as it sometimes has a bit of a "b*itch connotation to it. But it's a totally bad-ass moniker to place on yourself and I love that. It's all just words unless you can back it up. But from our experience here, she totally backs it up! What a fun place :-D
