From washing pots & pans to busser, to food runner, to server, to bartender, to GM positions & I am now 56 years old. & it is very hard for my wife & I to enjoy dining out because I critique EVERYTHING! & I have noticed the level of service has declined over the past few years. Uniforms not up to spec, lack of menu knowledge, servers auctioning food, pre bussing, server's poor demeanor, management non-involvement(table touching) But last night's dinner went perfectly! Was anxious to try this for the first time but ended up not being very impressed. Location is ok, building is fine, clean enough, just the food wasn't exactly what I'd hoped. We went on a Wednesday about 5 minutes after 6 PM which sucks because their happy hour ends at 6 pm. We still ordered two swirls. We elected to sit st the bar so we could watch the hockey game and motor cross which is really one of the reasons we come here. Chips and hot sauce came quick but when tortilla arrived as come to every table they were cold and butter spread when you tried. We got a full order of beef nachos which were okay. I'm going to give it 3 stars, as in A-OK. On this night, a Friday, around 7PM the place was pretty busy. There was a 30 minute wait for a 3-top, be we scored 3 seats at the bar. We were a bit bummed to learn our Buy One, Get One dinner coupon was not good on Fridays, but we opted to stay. Looking around, we saw fajita portions were generous, so we went for one beef, one chicken. They started us out with chips and salsa, and the chips were interesting. They were more reminiscent of Fritos, not tortilla. Think and crunchy, and not that bad, just unexpected. Salsa was OK, but I would have liked it spicier. Fajitas were good, with generous portions. Not consistent when you ordered the same thing every week, Sometimes flautas are over cooked. They run out of tortillas chips in the late evening and give you the frito chips only. We ordered through Uber Eats. The food was hot and fresh. I ordered Tampico (cheese and beef enchiladas). They were really good. Not just OK or average, I mean REALLY GOOD!! My husband has the Brisket Burrito and also enjoyed his dinner. We enjoyed the chips and salsa, too. I have no idea why this place doesn't have higher ratings. In addition, the delivery was really prompt! We will order again. Update: we have ordered through Uber Eats several times. Tonight we decided to find the restaurant and dine-in. I had their "Pick 3" and chose one beef enchilada, one cheese enchilada and a crispy beef taco with refried beans and rice. I don't usually eat the beans and rice, but that's my empty place. It was delicious! My husband had their brisket tacos and said they were great. Great food, attentive, but not intrusive service, social distancing and sanitizing between customers. We will be back! Really not sure what the low reviews are about and the complaints on the Frito-ish chips... Do folks know what Fritos are? Mexican style corn chips? How dare they not have the same boring flat triangles as everyone else! Anyway, dinner for two. Coupon for 2nd entree free brought us in, used it on both getting chicken fajitas. We sprung for both getting cheese and guacamole. The restaurant was tidy and the service was good and friendly. There was plenty of tasty food, needed a to-go box. Glad they're close to home. We've been going to Mexican Inn since I was a kid, so well on 40 years or so. What's the staple here? What's the difference maker? The chips. Everyone knows this. So imagine our surprise when we visited last night and found that something was afoot. The chip scene had changed. If you look at the picture, you'll see circled in red, the reason we like MI. The other stuff, not circled, is what we can find anywhere else in the Mexican food scene around here. Major fail, in my opinion. The food was average, and certainly not as grand as the days of yore when MI was a smaller, local concern. But the chips always make that tolerable. Horrible food. Flour tortillas were hard and cracked like crackers in the steamer holder for fajitas. Queso was so cold the cheese wasn't even melted. Handed us queso without chips. No salsa. 6 employees were sitting and standing around a table chatting. Nobody working. No silverware up front. Entire restaurant smelled like natural gas was leaking. Waiter was angry and not accommodating. Mexican Inn Cafe - How are there 9 of these restaurants in the Fort Worth area as this is the worst Mexican food I have found so far. After El Paseo in Keller closed and Roy's tried to operate in its place but failed, I have been trying to keep it local and find another go to Mexican restaurant - impossible! Mexican inn's chips are like large Fritos style and their salsa taste like hot ketchup. I ordered the tables side Guacamole that was a huge disappointment and was literally Avocado mixed with pico de gallo and no cilantro or lime juice at all. I had to order additional crappy chips (see above) because the guacamole does not come with chips- I guess I was supposed to use my fingers. I ordered fajitas for takeout on 3/18/23 and they didn't include flour tortillas, so I went back and Jennifer told me that they didn't come with flour tortillas. I told her that n the menu it does include them. They gave me the flour and I left to take home my now cold food. I called to inform the manager Victoria that she might need to learn the menu better and Victoria called me a liar and hung up on me. This is completely unacceptable for a supposed manager. I've been living in Keller for almost 2yrs and have yet to find a local authentic Mexican restaurant but this place is actually quite good and gets my Mexican Stamp of Approval. The flour tortillas aren't homemade but I never would have known without asking staff about them. Sure could have fooled me because these tasted, smelled, & felt freshly homemade. A place can have great tasting food but if you serve me store bought flour tortillas and I can tell, I'm never returning. Victoria our server was so awesome and a great multitasker. Not only was she taking orders and serving people seated at the bar but she was also making tortillas in the other room. The rest of the staff seemed friendly and our food was good, no complaints. Definitely will return!!! The only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is because the dinner portion was kinda small for a Mexican Restaurant. I also liked the Chips they served us. Worst Mexican food I've ever had. Went for a second time with my dad this past Sunday. He got beef tacos and I got the San Lupe combo. My dad's tacos were swimming in grease, my chicken taquitos tasted more like bad chicken salad in greasy corn tortillas, and my enchiladas were terrible tasting. Additionally, they give you mostly what appears to be their version of fritos along with a small amount of tortilla chips. I experienced serious GI issues Sunday night through yesterday likely due to that food. Will never go there again. Normally we really enjoy coming to eat here, but this last experience was not pleasant! From the time we first walked in to the restaurant it seemed like we were annoying the staff by being there. I had a meal that came with a bean and beef chalupa, my chalupa only came with beans when I asked our waitress about it she said "I don't know did you want beef on it" now she did offer to make me another one but seemed really annoyed with me. Didn't ask if we wanted anything else just handed us our bill and walked away. Our food for the most part did taste good. We normally like to eat here once a month at least but probably won't be back anytime soon after today. My wife and I wanted to try this place as we have passed by it many times. The server was very nice and was very attentive. We ordered our food and waited a good 25-30 minutes to get our food. I got the chicken soft taco, pork tamale, and chicken enchilada. The taco was eatable but the other two items were gross. My wife got the 3 taco plate. There was a bone in her very first bite of brisket. She got it out but we come to find it punctured her gum. We get home and she pulls out another small bone from that area. She has a decent sized hole in her gum now from this and what looks to be another bone that could be behind her molar as it is all puffy. This could be a freak incident but this is not somewhere we can come back. read more

Well I have been here several times my mother in law has been a customer of the establishment 70 years. She always orders some pif madden I don't ever see it in the menu but she loves it The sauce is plenty spicy and pretty good. Fresh tortillas and butter top notch. My wife gets the fajita lunch which she loves and it is the correct amount of food for a meal. I had the chicken and rice which was shredded up with cheese sauce a pretty fair amount of food with a chalupa that wasn't impressive. I would give it a 3-4 but our waitress was just a jerk. As joe Biden says Come on man!!!! Bring us plates to eat appetizers off of!!! Don't get gruff when we ask for more tortillas!!! Hell that is a big draw fresh tortillas!!! I askwd for no pico due to my hatred of onions. I made it very clear that onions were the scourge of the food universe. When I received my order, my first bite was a mouth full of onions. A long time favorite memory for my BF, so when we went to Texas we had to go back. At first based on the reviews I was sceptical but when we pulled up it was a very up to date place, serving texmex. The margaritas were strong and delicious. The frito chips were just wonderful, something I had never had at a restaurant. Salsa was average but I prefer a chunky type. A party of 8 seated in the covered patio area very comfortably. We were brought drinks and queso for the table fairly quickly. They even have butter on the table to go with the warm corn tortillas they bring. Not my thing but the others loved them, a Texas favorite apparently. Steak fajitas, steak quesadilla, chicken enchiladas, tamales, taco, rice and beans.. all good food based on the fact it was gone quickly. Good food and service! read more
