These guys called ahead of time to let us know that they would be ahead of schedule and they were. When they showed up, they assessed the carpets appropriately and offered suggestions to get a better cleaning. The additional rooms were not that much extra at all. After they went through the house, (without knocking anything over or out of the walls) they willingly asked us if there were any other spots that they should retreat. The one spot they had to retreat came out perfectly. They quoted a 3-5 hour drying time and it took less with the suggestions they offered us, Would recommend to anyone needing a solid cleaning job for a good price. I have been using Maxsteam for 3 yrs. They are professional, prompt, and excellent carpet/upholstery cleaners. First let me start off by saying how UNPROFESSIONAL the man I spoke to was. Here's what happened: I purchased a deal through Groupon and called to make my appointment. I was called back within 3 hours of leaving a message which I was totally happy with. When Tal called back I asked to schedule an appointment for a weekend and he said they only work Monday- Friday. I explained had I known that prior to purchasing the Groupon that they don't work on the weekends, I wouldn't have purchased it as both my husband and I work Monday-Friday and cannot take off work to get our carpets cleaned. Most reputable carpet cleaning companies I've dealt with work weekends. He basically told me that his working hours are on his website. He quickly told me that I can just contact Groupon and get my money back and hung up on me. I quickly went to my Groupon to see where on earth it had the hours of Monday- Friday so I clicked on the website link and it pulled up his website. The website says they operate Monday-Saturday 8am-7pm. I was extremely disappointed and would not recommend using a company that makes false claims on their website. Update- After I saw that their website says they operate on Saturdays, I called back and asked why they could not make a Saturday appointment if their website says those are their operating hours. Tal was very rude (again) and said right now they do not operate on the weekends. I suggested that he should update his website so that people don't think they can call and make an appointment for a Saturday. He asked me my name and when I told him he said I should take my 1 star review off of Yelp and then hung up on me again. The 1 star review is very warranted. read more

I used them because of their good price and they also could fit me in quickly. We cleaned 5 bedrooms, a hallway and stairs. We have light tan carpet along with several children and a dog. We purchased a Groupon a few days ahead of the cleaning. The 2 man crew showed up within the time period given. It took about 10 minutes for them to set up. They were extremely professional, friendly and polite. They did a pretty good job on the carpet but dumped the dirty water onto my yard which would be my one and only complaint. The sink or street gutter would have been a better place for that in my opinion. I'd definitely have them back again and would be happy to recommend them to someone else. read more

I purchased a Groupon for this company because of the advertised 12 step cleaning process - we had recently been potty training a dog and wanted to get the carpets fully cleaned. When I called to make my appointment I had mentioned this and there seemed to be no problem. On the day the carpet cleaner came out - he told me that Groupon was incorrectly advertising their service and that the groupon was only $49 for a standard carpet cleaning, no spot treatment or pet odor treatment etc. Why couldn't they have told me that on the phone, I could have solicited a full refund from Groupon in that first 24hours. Instead, I had to pay an additional fee for that (since that's what I needed done anyway). The technician did not move much furniture around, we had to ask, "hey are you going to move that table?" etc. The job done was rushed and poorly executed - the couch was not moved and some of our other furniture that's not ridiculously heavy was not moved at all. A simple arm chair in the corner of the room was not moved and the technician missed two separate 3' x 2' spots in our very small condo. We were not impressed with the work done and would not recommend this carpet cleaning service. read more

If I can give them less then a star I would. These guys are terrible. We had remodeling done and I needed cleaning done due to the dust that accumulated during demolition. The carpet had only two or three minor stains, in fact most of the area looked clean. Again we only wanted it cleaned because of dust. The owner also offered to clean our sofa and loveseat for $60 extra. He said when we're done we would be "wow". In the end we were not impressed at all. The sofa and loveseat looked the same but wet. The cleaning of the carpet was half ass.The three minor stains I mentioned earlier also weren't removed. I also watched them clean the stairs and I noticed they weren't getting the vertical part of the steps. I asked why didn't they clean that part. His reply was "because it already looked clean". Again the entire carpet already looked clean and I told the owner my reason for the cleaning was for dust. My wife brought up those issues and the owner was rude and said she was being ridiculous. He also accused my wife of trying to re-negotiate a lower price. My wife argued if you did it right the first time she wouldn't have to say anything. If I can give the zero star I would. I purchased a living social for $49 to have 3 rooms cleaned. The man shows up and says if i want it deep cleaned it will be another $49. Im not sure why i paid the living social for $49??? He refused and even HUNG UP on my roommate! What a waste of $80 that could have been better spent on a company who truly cares about their work and reputation. HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE!!! My husband and I found this carpet cleaner on Google. Contacted them to set up an appointment, guy on the phone quoted us a $60 deal that they had going on....sounded good! Technicians arrived and seemed nice and professional (I was a little concerned when I saw that they were using a small portable machine like the ones you can rent from the supermarkets) UNTIL after the job was done. My husband asked about a few spots that the technician said would come out clean but DIDN'T...and they also failed to tell us ahead of time about the extra cost of cleaning the small staircase!!! At this point we felt scammed and didn't agree with the cost for this half ass job. I called the company and spoke to the same guy who set up my appointment but as soon as I expressed my dissatisfaction his answers were extremely rude and he was outright obnoxious! Our carpet looked the same as it did before these people cleaned it the only difference was it smelled worse and was wet. After all this we ended up having to call another carpet cleaning company and the carpet actually looked new again! What ever you do, DO NOT use this company! They soaked my carpets...left them wet for over 3 days...just before the holidays...my entire house smells musty. So much for having my carpets clean for the holidays. Of course, we hosted Christmas this year, and my family from out of town had to endure the awful musty smell. I was so embarrassed!!! I couldn't let my 12mo on the carpet for days because his clothes would be damp from the carpet (mind you this is the main living room in my house!) I called the company and left multiple messages to return my phone call, which they never did! Worst customer service ever!! I get my carpet's cleaned annually. This is so far the best service ever. The customer service and attention to detail from the team was amazing. I also appreciated how upfront they are about pricing. I usually get a groupon which I did this time too. Typically they wait until they show up at your door to tell you all the extra costs. When I called to schedule he asked about my carpet and let me know that costs up front which were options. I took the options for my stairs and pet stains and still paid 100 for my whole house. I called and asked how much it would be they told me $59 for a regular and if you need deep conditioning then it would be an extra $39 but NOTHING MORE?!!!.then when one of their employees (adam) come to the house he looked around than called his boss talking in Hebrew (he didn't know I also speak Hebrew!!) but talking in another language in somebody's home is shockingly disrespectful! California Steemers is a good company. Carpet Cleaning is very hard work and anyone who buys from Living Social or Groupon and doesn't expect to be upsold is naïve to say the least. It's one thing to walk into a store and buy a discounted hamburger, quite another to have a cleaning van with technician (s) drive to your home and work for two or three hours for $59.00. The cleaning company will LOSE money on EVERY job. Why these companies even offer to do that is beyond me. Cleaning five rooms and a hallway should cost a minimum of $250.00 if done properly.
