Finally found a good Mexican restaurant near the Woodlands. Went during the week and was not busy at all. I did see a sign that advertised live music on the weekends. Started with a top shelf margarita and chicharrones with queso which was a first for me having as an app. Fresh chips and salsa were also served all were very good. We were a party of 40 and sat on the screened in patio with plenty of room on a Saturday night. I ordered a margarita with salt and it came without the salt and tasted watered down. The second one came out correctly and tasted better. I had the half order of chicken quesadillas. They flavor was good and came with plenty of guacamole and sour cream. For being a large party the 3 servers that waited on us did a pretty good job. read more

Excellent service, delicious food & amazing Margaritas! What more can you ask for? This is a great place to try for lunch or dinner, weekday or weekend. My husband and I have eaten here different times/days and we've always had great service and the food and drinks have been fantastic. A few of our favorites are the enchiladas, the pork carnitas, the stuffed poblano pepper, and this new menu item- the birria noodle soup. My husband said it's a 10/10! He loved all the delicious flavors, spices and it was so nice to have on a cold, rainy day. This place would be a fun place to have an office Christmas party or other event at. They have ample seating throughout with a covered patio area and an upstairs seating area. They also have seating at the bar area, closer to their delicious and refreshing Margaritas! I never like to write a bad review but this our experience here was far from great to say the least. After being seated, we got chips and salsa right away and thought ok good start. The salsa is delicious and that was also a big plus. Unfortunately it stops there. The service was just about the worst we have had here in Texas. There was about 5 unbussed tables around us and not a server in sight. We didn't even see a server to get our drinks for at least 15 minutes and when he did show up there was no greeting, just walked up and said "drinks"? When we finally did get to order food, it came out reasonably quick. The food was very salty and chicken seemed rubbery. We never saw our server again.... We sat around after being done eating until a manager came up and asked if we needed anything. Maybe this place was just extremely understaffed today but needless to say we won't be coming back. read more

For the prices this place charges, and the quality of food they serve , you are better off driving 15-18 minutes down the road to Pappasitos. The cheese used here is processed, the prices are higher than well known food chains for much less quality of food. Okay I'm not really sure why this place wasn't packed at 2pm. They show the football game. The have Happy Hour every single day. AND they have $10 and under menu!! This place is CLEAN. I MEAN SPOTLESS. The bartender is amazing. The service from the staff is TREMENDOUS. And the food is fantastic. I order the ameretto margarita. And my fiancé got a house on the rocks. Great flavor and they get ya going! I then order the Jalapeño white Queso and the Patron as an entree. Absolutely ZERO complaints. I've lived in the area for over 2 years, and I'm sad it's taken me THIS long to try this place. I'll definitely frequent this place more often even after I move. Please give this place a chance. Shoutout to Victor (GM)! He does a great job and is very professional. His staff is attentive and accommodating. My wife and I sat outside on a Friday night we thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere. Sunshades were drawn and the cool breeze was excellent. The food was fantastic! I topped my enchiladas with verde sauce and my wife topped hers with queso. Absolutely amazing! So found this place using google and with the number of reviews and 4.4 stars figure cannot go wrong. So first they offered warm chips to go with warm salsa. Instantly in love. The chips were not greasy like other places. Salsa had an excellent kick, I downed three of the little bowls. I would come back just for chips & salsa. I had the chicken Diablo. I enjoyed it very much and the beans and rice seemed authentic. Wifey had the chicken soup and since it looked very delicious i tried that too. Definitely delicious and being very picky about my soup I would definitely order for myself. The waiter was awesome! As an example since my wife arrived 10mins after I did he brought her a fresh iced tea since it looked watered down. Anyway will definitely return! read more

Walked in during lunch time to try a New Mexican restaurant. Which I'm normally a person who sticks to his usual Mexican places. Today I gave this one a shot and I'm glad I did. Fast and friendly service to sit me down and take my drink order. Server Carlos , was very attentive and friendly and knew the menu. He offered some customer favorites but I went with the mole enchiladas. 3 mole enchiladas in corn tortillas, with rice & beans. The mole sauce was damn near perfect. You could taste the right amount of spice and chocolate taste all together. This was the one of the best I ever had from a restaurant. I can honestly say true authentic Mexican dish. The Restaurant and restrooms are super clean and smells Great throughout the whole facility. Staff was wearing masks. Also they make homemade tortillas here. First time here as we are new to the area. The first impression was very good. The place was clean, decorated in a fun way and cheerful. The food was great. We just came in for a light dinner so my wife and I shared the guacamole and chips and nachos. They made a full order with 1/2 steak and 1/2 chicken. These were easily a meal for us. They were delicious! Now for the downer...the service. Our waiter was brusque and impersonal. When I asked if the list of beers was all they had, he said yes . I found out later that they do have local brews from someone who goes there often. We must have caught him at the end of his shift because he never asked if we wanted a second drink, never asked how our food was and dropped the bill off buy dropping it on the table and said "here." That was it. I'm usually a good tipper but not this time. On our way out he was near the door and never said a thing to us. Pitiful performance. Food, great. Ambiance, great. Waiter, unfortunate. I've been to Mezcal a handful of times. Its good solid TexMex. I've had the crispy tacos, fajitas, cheese enchiladas, queso and a few other things off the menu. If you like TexMex I would recommend giving them a try. My only complaint is... for some reason everytime I go... the Coke tastes like Diet Coke, so I've learned to stick with ice tea. read more

This place is in a genius location, definitely smart business move. The inside is awesomely decorated, they have happy hour and also they have CRAWFISH already! I was impressed by the quality of the food. We live super close and haven't had many restaurant options but things are starting to pop up around here which is great. It's hard to leave a good review or even a poor review we've been here twice the first time we had great service and the food was delicious. We just walked out on the second time... we got seated fast I went straight to the bathroom washed my hands came out sat down chips were on table , we sat for about 15 minutes no drinks ordered, nobody came to see if we needed anything as far as food etc. - meanwhile a table literally across from us with sat and drinks were ordered within seconds. At that point my husband and I decided we will take our business somewhere else - on a positive note they have great tacos here , and the burrito is great ... Honestly it is why we came back a second time not sure if there would be a third time as the hostess did not seem too concerned when we left after telling her what happened. read more

We've eaten here twice already and I'll agree with other reviews - the salsa is really good, nice atmosphere, the bright colors, high ceilings and great service. I had the chicken brochettes twice. They serve four stout brochettes which are fried perfectly ( the chicken wasn't dry at all), charro beans, which tastes smoky have a little ground beef mixed in, and rice. Other places in the area serve this dish with lettuce, avocado slices and some queso. That would really work nicely with these brochettes. My wife had the chicken empanadas and loved them. The chicken was tender with a sauce drizzled all over them that she said tasted great. It also came with a cilantro sauce but she said it wasn't needed. She said she'd eat there again just for the empanadas. The other two dishes were chicken enchiladas and chicken flautas and both were dry and bland. I don't recall the prices being out of line with other Tex-Mex places in the area. One time we did sit in the booths and that was a bit awkward. The booths are elevated so you have to step up to the bench seat. And when you sit down, the table comes up to your waste so it felt a little strange bcs the table it lower than normal. We'll probably be back to try the fajitas at some point. read more

Finally asked to speak to manager and she claimed she turned it down as much as she could that other people asked for it to be turned up. I find that hard to believe. Ate here with the family and was very happy with the service, facilities and the food. Started with a skinny margarita, well mixed and tasted good. Served in a large, heavy goblet it tasted great but was challenging to drink without a straw. These type drinks should be served in a logo glass. Ordered the chicarone app, served with white queso and guacamole and fresh, crispy chicarones. We ate these up in minutes they were so good. Dinner was two ribeye fajitas and two diablos and fajitas. Diablos were some of the best I ever ate but the fajitas, while good, lacked seasoning (flavor). Prices were reasonable for the drinks and meal and great when the quality of the meal was considered. This is our finally found authentic Mexican restaurant. The food is delicious. The salsa and green sauce have so much flavor. The margaritas are so good that I had two! We sat at the bar which wasn't that inviting (atmosphere wise). Next time we will sit outside. Their patio is so inviting. The Carne Asada was so tender and buttery. I was even asked how I wanted it cooked which I have never been asked before when I order carne asada. It was so tender. The charro beans are rich and flavorful. My husband had the big donkey fajita meat burrito which was huge and full of fajita meat. Our one and only complaint was that they didn't get the Golf channel. lol. Two star review is accurate. The food was just okay, mostly bland. We've had better at other places in the area. As much as I try to support our local businesses, the lack of social distancing/appropriate mask coverage in addition to the food quality will keep us from visiting again. However, the service was excellent. I'd been here twice previously for Happy Hour in the bar. The food and drinks were excellent the first time, and just kind of good the second time. Loved the atmosphere and again, service was great. I thought we'd give it another try for a dinner out. Called ahead to ensure social distanced patio tables and mask usage. Tables were not social distanced, but we thought they would just seat parties apart. A family being seated chose a table right next us - not social distanced and the hostess didn't suggest a different table. We eventually quietly moved to a table further away. Although our server was very good and he was wearing a mask, it was not properly covering his nose. I understand it's a difficult time right now for restaurants. However, I wonder...if you aren't providing quality food and following sanitary standards (right now with specialized state-wide health mandates) during a time when you need the business, how are you doing it when you've got a booming business during normal times? We searched Yelp and found this place with mediocre reviews but we believe in giving each establishment a fair shot. The place is clean and staff very attentive. We asked our server for a suggestions since the menu is quite large and repetitive. We end up ordering a plate of three chicken mole enchiladas and the chicken flautas plate. We we received our food, the plates were scorching hot and the food as well. One might think that "a hot plate is good" and I would agree but the plates and the food apparently we heated in the microwave, thanks chef mike. The taste of the food was not eatable, the food had only one flavor spicy. Sadly, this place will be scratched from our list. read more
