I am shocked this place isn't more packed. We got the AYCE ($50pp) and some very affordable carafes of beer. Service was great and the food was hot and tasty. There was a lot of variety in meats, beef, lamb, chicken, shrimp, and really great falafels. We stuffed ourselves and certainly felt we got our moneys worth but still got dessert upon insistence from our waiter. And they were right because the basque cheesecake and baklava were fantastic too! I usually find cheesecake to be too heavy but this was light and creamy. Definitely will come back here when I have a big appetite

I enjoyed coming here for dinner with a friend. There is a lot of bar seating compared to table seating that is my only complaint. Food was tasty and fun to try new things. There are many options and you can order as many as you want. I enjoyed the meats as they were flavorful and everything tasted fresh and clean not greasy. It is $60 per person and $20 for kids. The drinks were strong as well and only about $13 a cocktail, which is reasonably priced. I would come again with friends.

My wife and I had been looking forward to Meze as we both recently started exploring more Mediterranean cuisine and love all you can eats. Though we left full, our satisfaction was still empty. We were warmly welcomed and promptly seated. Our server explained how the menu worked (all the mezes were brought out first and for each round were recommended to order 3 kebabs). Throughout the night our server and the wait staff were very attentive without being intrusive. The service was the highlight of our night. The cold mezes were actually very good, especially the spicy tomato and hummus masabacha. Of the hot mezes, we enjoyed the dal makhani and french fries the most. With a strong start to the night, we were looking forward to the the kebabs; unfortunately, they left much to be desired. -Doner Kebab: 7.0/10 Dry, bland, and lacked any char. Red onion salad saves it. -Cevabi: 6.5/10 Juicy but bland as well. -Tenderloin: 5.0/10 Ordered 2x, the 1st was well done. Chewy and could barely taste the spices. Asked the server to get it medium rare the next round, was well done again. -Beyti Kebab: 7.9/10 The only kebab of the night that had any flavor. Good char, very juicy, again lacked salt. Second round was less juicy. -Lamb Shish Kebab: 7.5/10 Got it medium rare but was very chewy. Okay flavor and char. -Herb Garlic Shrimp: 7.5/10 Good but nothing extroirdinary. -Chicken Tikka: 7.7/10 Juicy, could taste the spices, but again needed salt. -Chicken Doner: 6.5/10 Was served with some sweet tomato based sauce (not sure what it was honestly, didn't ask) that was very off-putting and didn't go well with the chicken. Even when eaten with the mezes, or made into a wrap with the lavash or pide bread + sauces, most of the meats were very dissapointing. At a whopping $60 per person, the expectations were set high. Another complaint we had was how little table space there was once the mezes were brought out. Suggestions: 1. Drop the price. There are AYCE's kbbq's with premium menus that include wagyu (either US, AUS, or even JPN) for a similar price. $40-45 is reasonable unless the meat sourced is some high grade, which I did not taste that night. 2. Have a bar for the cold mezes in which pre-portioned cups can be picked. It would not only save table space, it would help alleviate food waste. Unfortunately I do not see myself coming back but do hope that others have a greater experience than I did. Overall: 7.2/10

Since we had been to Meyhouse before, this time we wanted to try the newly opened all-you-can-eat kebab restaurant. It was a Tuesday evening and we were welcomed warmly at the entrance. After we were seated, our server explained how the menu works. First, they bring a selection of appetizers and a large salad with small portions of each item. After that, you can ask for more of whichever ones you like. For the proteins, you can order up to three at a time and keep reordering as you finish them. We had a very enjoyable evening. The appetizers were quite good. Even the French fries were surprisingly delicious. The rice was very tasty. Among the proteins, we especially loved the meatballs -- the texture and flavor were excellent. The beyti kebab was incredible, really outstanding. Shrimp was also very good. The service was great as well. Alexa was very helpful and attentive throughout the evening. We would also specially like to thank Eyüp. The music was a little loud at first, and he kindly helped us with that and also assisted with the service a few times during the night. The staff overall were very hardworking and attentive. Thank you for everything. We will definitely come back. One small suggestion: I think rakı should definitely be added to the drink menu.

Come hungry, leave full! Very full! @_@ Meze Kebab inhabits former Tacolicious restaurant but takes it to another level with their healthy and delicious foods. Pleasant service from the staff who are prompt and knowledgeable about their foods. They are very professional and polite. The ambiance feels like an old diner. Comfortable with high ceilings. I love the gold colored serving dishes. Halal options available. I highly recommend the lamb dishes! You cannot take food home so please only order what you can eat! I feel bad my party was not able to finish every dish. Next time we'll finish before ordering. The food comes out extremely. Hot Tip: The restaurant only serves all you can eat option. They will always bring out the hot and cold mezzes (side dishes like Korean banchan). You select which protein option you want. It's pork, beef, lamb, chicken and shrimp.

4.5 STARS Girl Math Why pay $20 for one kebab (*ahem* Zaytinya) when you can get 3, 5, or even 10 kebabs for $59.99 at Meze Kebab? While there's no shortage of Turkish/Mediterranean restos in PA, Meze Kebab is the first in the bay to offer AYCE kebabs! And, you know it's going to be good when it's from the owners of Meyhouse. Meze Kebab took over Tacolicious and offers indoor and outdoor seating. AYCE Meze (apps) + Kebabs is $59.99 pp, $24.99 pp for kids 5-12. 20% service charge (additional tip is optional). Drinks are not included. Full bar. Note: When paying on Toast, a 20% "additional tip" is the default. If you're not paying attention, you can easily double tip. O R D E R I N G Confusing. We were told some items you order via QR code and some you order through your server. All the items (i.e. meze + sides) had a price listed in the QR code menu so it made it seem it wasn't included in the set price. They automatically bring you all the cold + hot meze, and all the sides which makes business sense (fills you up before the kebabs come). But, seems wasteful because we couldn't finish most of it. D R I N K * Vesper Martini ($13) Cloyingly sweet, tasted like vermouth with a splash of gin. F O O D * Cold Meze: Tzatziki, babaganoush, hummus, muhammara, pickled turnips Thoughtfully plated, all solid with the tzatziki being the standout. It was thiccc like labneh. * Hot Meze: Fries, rice, dal makhani, bulgur pilaf Loved the savory, nutty bulgur with a tang. * Sides/carbs: Huge salad, pide, kiymalı pide, lavash The kiymalı pide, flatbread with ground beef was SO good - crispy, chewy with a deliciously spiced ground beef. * Kebabs As they're freshly cooked, staff comes around to serve you a piece or two. No temp requests. Kebabs served medium well/well. - Döner Kebab - Kasap Köfte - Ćevapi - Beef Tenderloin - Beyti Kebab - Lamb Shish Kebab - Chicken Döner - Chicken Wings - Paneer Tika - Garlic Shrimp EVERYTHING was excellent - tender, juicy and well-spiced. Flavorful but not salty. If I had to pick, the döner was best in show, beautifully layered lamb and beef...rich and meltingly tender. * San Sebastian Cheesecake The basque cheesecake was nicely dense with a creamy, custard-like center. Could use more caramelization tho. S E R V I C E Very friendly staff but service can be improved. It felt hands off for the price point ($184 for two). We were waiting for dessert but was later told we had to order it via QR code. After leaving, I received a notification that I was charged separately for dessert ($9.04) when it should have been included. Emailed them and their addie doesn't work. Lastly, I was asked to pay via QR code and did. Then, one of the staff brought out the receipt to sign and reminded me about the "additional tip". Awkward and tacky. A M B I A N C E Warm, inviting dining room with high ceilings, bold red walls, and an open kitchen and bar. Sidewalk and parklet seating. Heat lamps available. Overall, 5 star meze and kebabs, great quality and so delicious. Bummed I have to round down but the operational and service issues affected the dining experience.

All-you-can-eat Turkish food is new in downtown Palo Alto and it is a whole new experience! Meze Kebab, from the team behind Meyhouse, feels like a Brazilian steakhouse that met a roaming meze cart. I love the variety of kebabs and mezes. Instead of ordering once, the food keeps coming. Hot and cold mezes, creamy dips, fresh flatbreads, and a steady stream of grilled kebabs (chicken tikka, doner kebab, herb garlic shrimp etc.) making their way around the room. You try a little of everything, then go back for what you love most. It is actully so fun with a group. I wouldn't order the basque cheesecake though, the slice was so thin and tiny. The 90min experience is $60 ($45 for vegetarian, $25 for kids under 12). Perfect for celebrations, big dinners, or when you want to eat your way like you're in Istanbul, without leaving the Bay. Save this for your next group night out!

The service is designed to be Brazilian steakhouse style, but it didn't have that kind of flow. The place was busy but not overly packed, yet some items only came around once. There was no steady rhythm. In that style of service, you expect things to keep coming while you're still eating, but here it felt slow and inconsistent. Portions were very small. The kebabs were cut into tiny pieces, and they kept asking, "How many pieces would you like?" Honestly, instead of giving two finger-sized pieces and making us count, just serve half a skewer if needed -- but don't turn dinner into a math exercise. It felt awkward having to calculate pieces while trying to enjoy the meal. Even combining everything, it didn't feel like we had eaten a proper mixed grill. The service overall felt weak and hesitant. The staff seemed inexperienced, and the whole experience lacked confidence. On top of that, an automatic service charge was added (I believe around 20-30%), which felt excessive considering the level of service. The ambiance, however, was beautiful -- modern, stylish, and very well done. And to be fair, the food itself was delicious. The appetizers, the bread -- everything tasted very good. But good food and a nice atmosphere alone aren't enough to make up for the overall experience. We paid around $500 for 4 adults and 2 kids. At that price point, expectations are naturally higher. Unfortunately, it's a no-go for us.

Saw that this spot opened up and had to stop by! We did the all you can eat kebab and it came with a bunch of cold mezzes and hot as well. They had different options for meat and it paired well with the bread, rice, and mezzes. The service was friendly and attentive. There were plenty of tables for large parties or a date night and the bar looked really nice too! Only downside is that it's pretty pricey and felt like we got full really fast compared to other ayce.

Update on review, what's done and done Thanks for quick response and hoping soon continue doing business with you... Old review: Halal clarification urgently needed We dined at Meze Kebab and asked the manager directly about halal meat. We were told only the tenderloin is NOT halal, which clearly implied the rest of the beef was halal. Later that same night, a friend texted the owner directly and was told the beef is NOT halal. That is a serious contradiction. Halal is not a preference. It's a requirement. Mixed answers put customers in a very uncomfortable position. This review is a public request for clarity from the owner: * Is the beef halal or not? * Which meats are halal? * Is there certification or a specific supplier? Please respond publicly so customers know exactly what they are eating. Transparency = trust. #Halal #FoodTransparency #MuslimCommunity #KnowWhatYouEat

An all you can eat Mediterranean for $59 per person. A good concept and the first I've seen in the bay. The quality and taste here is very good, but the service needs improvement. The wait wasn't too bad on a busy Saturday night. It was around 40 minutes. When it was time to check in for our table, the hostess was nowhere to be found. It took several minutes for someone to seat us. We had a table on the outside patio so staff also didn't come out frequently - both to clear plates and also to take our order. There's no limit on how many items you can order at a time. All the dips were very good. They took a very long time to bring out the first round of kebabs (definitely a tactic to get you full off the apps) It took roughly 20 minutes! However after that, all the rounds came out faster. It seems everything is being made to order so it's not as efficient as it could be. Overall we enjoyed our meal and would likely come back again. Hopefully they work out the kinks by then.

The meat was fall-apart tender, spices were , and the portion was HUGE. The ambiance is very well kept and upscale Service was on point too (Johnathan and Ashley were amazing , and very helpful)! Definitely adding this spot to the rotation. If you're craving killer kebabs, look no further #KebabLove #FoodComa #Recommend"

Love the atmosphere here -- beautiful decor, good music, and a really comfortable vibe. Great for gathering with friends or family, and also a nice spot for a date. The staff is very welcoming and friendly, which makes the experience even better. The all-you-can-eat option is fun and lets you try a lot of different things. The variety of meze is especially good and perfect for sharing. Overall a very enjoyable experience, would happily come back.

As a speakeasy enthusiast myself I definitely agree to the fact that it is "hidden" but also it does kinda give corporate vibes a little bit - maybe we can say they "gentrified" the speakeasy experience which is honestly so funny for Palo Alto. But anyways I don't think a classification should stop you from visiting it. The food is actually surprisingly really good. We came with a pescatarian and honestly while the offerings for snacks were a bit slim, every option was really good. I feel like this was the first time where I understood the price even the the quantity is no where close to be desired. One shrimp is like $6 and I was like whoah. Service is definitely more laid back and it's overall just like a more chill atmosphere. I'm fortunate to work nearby so I'll definitely visit this place a few times after work to blow off some steam... And the drinks! Yes they are good! They are also quite strong! Would come back again but also if you're conscious of budget then I'm not sure if you'll find the same value proposition.

We were seated in the bar area at some tables. The bar is impressive. It's filled to the ceiling with different bottles. We felt like we had to try a cocktail to start. Our bartender was great and even went off menu for some of our drinks. The staff was very friendly and attentive. Once we were seated we got some appetizers to get us started. We ordered chickpea panisse, French onion soup, goat cheese mousse, and the apple salad. Everything was delicious. My favorite was the chickpea panisse. It looked like fried tofu, but it was so delicately soft in the center. The aioli that came with it was great too. My second favorite was the goat cheese mousse. It was beautifully presented and a good balance of flavors. For main dishes, we got a variety of things. We got salmon, hanger steak, flat iron steak, and poulet roti. Everything was delicious. I think the flat iron steak was preferred over the hanger, but both were good. I thought the chicken was delicious. It seemed braised with a lot of flavor. It was a generous portion with a large salad. It was very well done. We also got a couple of sides of macaroni and cheese. Those didn't disappoint. They came in hot iron skillets and were hearty and delicious. For dessert we got the mousse au chocolat. The mousse with ice cream was a great combination. The dessert was well balanced. We thoroughly enjoyed our evening. The staff was great, the food was delicious, and the vibe was fun.

Parker house rolls were fresh and tasty, although not spectacular. The wildflower butter tasted about the same as regular butter. 2. French onion soup was very pleasant, highly recommended. It had a strong taste of (1) something resembling wine must and (2) a meat stock, although I wasn't entirely sure. 3. Roasted chicken was good, maybe not as good as at Sekoya in terms of juiciness, but not dry either, especially with the jug of juice. The chicory salad served alongside it was delightful, however, and one of my favourite parts of the meal. 4. The duck was somewhat small and drier than the usual Chinese style. I did like the demi glace sauce and the rutabaga garnish. 5. The 12oz dry aged rib eye was tasty, with a beautiful crust, but the interior again was a little drier than I would hope for medium rare. Again, the bordelaise sauce was very good. We all loved the aioli that was served alongside the French fries. 6. The side of cooked beans was the main disappointment. The beans themselves didn't taste of much, and the dish as a whole was only rescued by the generous serving of marcona almonds. 7. The grits were decently good. Overall, the meal was an enjoyable dining experience and I would recommend Zola, especially as this style of cooking is becoming less common and squeezed out by restaurants serving more aggressively-flavoured dishes.

The space is sleek, modern, and light-filled, making it a perfect spot to gather with friends for lunch or evening drinks and bites. Here is a breakdown of what we tried: Deviled Eggs: A must-order appetizer! Topped with tobiko/caviar, crispy shallots, and chives, they are incredibly creamy with a nice pop of texture and savoriness. Korean Fried Chicken Wings: Crispy, perfectly glazed in a sweet-and-spicy sauce, and topped with sesame seeds. Served with a cool dipping sauce that balances out the heat wonderfully. Tacos (Carnitas & Shrimp): Both taco options were served on warm, fresh corn tortillas topped with pickled red onions, cilantro, and served with a side of slaw and spicy salsa. High quality and super flavorful. Roasted Cauliflower: A gorgeous mixture of purple and white cauliflower tossed with a rich green pesto and drizzle of spicy red pepper sauce. A phenomenal vegetable side with a great kick. French Fries: Golden, crispy, well-seasoned, and served in a massive bowl--perfect for sharing across the entire table. Overall: Excellent presentation, generous portions for small plates, and a super welcoming atmosphere. Whether you're stopping by for creative craft cocktails or grabbing a bite with a group near campus, Horsefeather delivers. Highly recommended!

Didnt get around to trying the food but had two glasses of wine and was a little underwhelmed by the selections. Given they ONLY serve wine, I thought they might have flights in addition to glasses. But I didnt see any flights. While the service was fine, I did sort catch them lounging around in on the couches on their phones while on shift. I get its slow but its just not a good look. The location is right at the end of a street so there are constantly cars making u turns and coming in and out of parking. So sitting outside isnt terribly ambient. IDK, it was truly a fine experience but I have no desire to go back.

We stopped by before turning in, ordering the Fromage du Jour (a selection of domestic and imported cheeses), a Charcuterie plate (with thinly-sliced cured meats, pate de chevreuil, stoneground mustard, cornichon, and purple cabbage kraut), and the Marinated Olives. There is eating both in- and outside, but I recommend in dining al fresco to people watch. The place is small, but it gets busier, as it does open later in the day (4 PM to midnight)! I asked for a shot and beer special, with a beyond burger, which was excellent. I added some cooked jalapenos to the burger. The bartender's name was Johnny, I believe. At some point, I dribbled ketchup on my shirt without noticing. Now, with only two low maintenance guests, most guys would probably be looking at their phone while waiting for us to ask for something. Johnny never did. He was right there with a cloth and a glass of seltzer to help me with my shirt stain. In other words, he was friendly and paying attention. That's valuable and welcome. Scotty's is a friendly space overall, and I like stopping in before a show at the Stanford Theater, for instance.

The bartender was quick to help us and super friendly. We both had regular margaritas and they were good! We had just come from dinner so we didn't order any food, but I'd like to try it in the future since it seems like good pricing, especially for the area. The space itself is pretty small but it's nice to have another bar downtown! I look forward to returning.
