Run don't walk to this Michelin Bib Gourmand designee serving up fantastic modern Indian cuisine in a fantastically whimsical setting, although you may well roll out when you're finally finished as the amount of food they give you is insane! Reservations are recommended, but I arrived without one as a solo diner just after opening on a Monday, was seated immediately, and had the place to myself before it began rapidly filling up. Special shout-out to Matthew and Susan who ensured I wanted for nothing as I greedily dug into the delectable Sigdi Tasting Menu: First Course Green Grape Chaas - green apple, yogurt, semolina puchkas Avocado Saag - chili garlic ghee, grilled asparagus tartare, maddur vada Cold Smoked Ahi Tuna - chili crisp, coconut black pepper sauce, curry leaves Second Course Duck Gilafi Kebab - sour cherry chutney, cilantro, nutmeg Achaari Octopus Kebab - green mango & jalapeño sauce, pink radish Main Course Embered Branzino - longbean poriyal, yogurt rice, coconut turmeric sauce (my choice) or Cornish Hen Tikka - tomatillo makhani, crispy potato threads Dessert Charred Pineapple & Jaggery - Indian milk cake ice cream, Old Monk Berry Composition - watermelon sorbet, melon seed chikki

If you've been wanting to step into Indian cuisine but you're not quite ready for the deep end of the pool, this is a first great step. Eylan is a Cal-Indian cuisine, taking a modern spin on traditional Indian dishes. While Indian food can be quite spicy, this place tones it down and helps keep it flavorful and spice-tolerable for people with a low spice tolerance like myself. We came on Memorial Day Monday at 5 pm, but the restaurant was packed by the time we were leaving about 1.5-2h later. The nature of Eylan's menu is family style, so we ordered a mix of vegetarian and meat dishes to share. Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious from appetizer to dessert - you cannot go wrong! Most of the dishes have a bit of a char to them, adding to that flavor profile. While I enjoyed everything, my absolute favorite was the Chilled Green Grape Chaas appetizer. It was a fusion dish, combining elements of the Indian snack pani puri with the Indian yogurt drink chaas. Surprisingly, the dish was both refreshing and packed a punch of flavor. That alone would make me want to come back! The interior is very nice and modern, and the service was impeccable. They were attentive throughout the evening, and it made our first experience here quite memorable. All the dishes were at a reasonable price point, even though they were all high quality dishes. Parking is free in the underground parking structure next to Eylan. We are so excited to come back and try more of the menu!

Eylan, a relatively recent addition to the elevated Indian cuisine space, in the Bay area fits well into the mould of restaurants that are making an earnest attempt to re-introduce Indian cuisine to the other side of the world. Located in Palo Alto, the restaurant is housed in a building that has its own parking lot which improves the overall accessibility experience. I found the ambiance to be akin to the ambiance of Copra located in San Francisco. Very cozy, dimly lit aesthetic. The only issue I experienced was the height difference between the chairs and tables in the restaurant, which made it uncomfortable for me. For drinks we had the dirty spritz and the techies, guns, and money. The dirty spritz was refreshing and delicious. The other cocktail was a rum based cocktail and very balanced with aromatics. Overall a good upscale Indian restaurant to visit with good service.

Located in a new multi-use development in Menlo Park, Eylan offers complimentary underground parking. After parking, take the elevator to the ground level (not the residential one). The restaurant entrance is just outside the elevator - it's easy to miss, so keep an eye out! I've included a couple of photos for reference. The service is friendly and comfortable. The environment is beautiful, chic, and feels a bit fancy, much like the food - we enjoyed everything we ordered. The care and thoughtfulness in the dishes are evident. The smoked lentils with roti were my favorite. While the dishes tend to be on the smaller side and pricier than your average Indian restaurant, Eylan is truly a step above. I look forward to returning to try more!

Out of all the Indian contemporary and fine dining options in the bay (Copra, Ettan, Tia) - Eylan is probably my favorite. The restaurant is beautiful and service is excellent. We ended up spending a couple hours at dinner here. Items are definitely pricey but this restaurant stands out due to its innovative twist on classic Indian dishes. Starting off with drinks - the Bombay Green cocktail was amazing. It was an extremely refreshing blend of subtle dry spices and perfect for a summer day. Favorite dishes: Eylan Fried Chicken: A must order. You MUST save the aioli to enjoy with your mains and any breads. The aioli was the star of the dish - it had a fiery Indian pickle base and was so flavorful. This was also really filling and generously plated especially for not a main entree item. Roasted Cornish hen: Eylan has a savory take on the classic butter chicken with a green tomatillo base and it's amazing! A good portion for two, but you may need to double up on the recommended bread accompaniment. Eylan Eye Pull apart flaky bread that melts in your mouth but the portion can definitely be bigger. In terms of vegetarian food, the green apple chaas pani puri made for a great chilled appetizer and prepared us well for the rich and deep fried ricotta kebabs. I've never had anything like these dishes before! The only miss for vegetarian orders was the pineapple kebab. It felt pretty lacking and plain especially in comparison to its description. Will definitely be back!

Eylan has amazing decor and very indian hospitality vibe. Feels fusion and very instagram worthy ambience. We went for the lunch. Their lunch and dinner menus are different. Ordered black cod, zafrani paneer for mains . Ricotta kebab and woodfired chicken seekh for starters. The food was good fusion of flavour and presentation. Though a heavy hand on oil in each dish, the different flavour profiles made up for it. You cannot expect authentic Indian flavours but would find some elevated flavor. All in all a good one time visit for sure.

This place is very good. Of the seven dishes we had, only one missed the mark. We had the taro root chaat, flaxseed poee, king trumpet mushrooms, woodfire chicken seekh, hispi cabbage, Eylan chicken yakhni pulao and a granita desert. Everything was excellent (except the chicken pulao), super flavorful and wonderfully textured. I really appreciate a restaurant that can take a humble ingredient like cabbage and make it taste better than a meat dish. Using a taro root chip was a super cool way to serve chaat because it doesn't get soggy. I was weary of ordering this at first because there is no shortage of good (affordable) chaat spots in the area. But wow it ended up being so good. Chicken pulao was no good. The chicken was very dry. Id rather go to paradise in Santa Clara to get a nice biryani. But one dish as a miss is okay in my book since everything else was exceptional. Service was excellent, they had really nice mocktails and the space is beautiful.

Beautiful restaurant! Stylish and modern with chic Indian style. I'd requested to be seated near the indoor tree. Fellow Yelp friends Harmanjeet K. & Aurko G. and I were seated at a table 10 feet away, still within viewing distance. It was packed on a Thursday in November. Make sure to secure a dinner reservation. Drinks: *Everything But The Gimlet *Techies, Guns, & Money We ordered another drink but I forgot the name. Eats: *Chilled Green Grape Chaas (pani puri) *Eylan Crispy Chicken x2 *Kohlrabi & Pineapple *Woodfire Chicken Seekh skewer *Anar Chicken Sigri skewer *Roasted Cornish Hen *Eylan Chicken (Yakhni Pulao) *Paratha Dessert: *Shaved "Mango Lassi" *Frozen "Shrikhand" x2 The Techies drink was too strong for me so we switched it out for the green Everything but the Gimlet. First time having pani puri and it was quite the chilled, crispy experience! I loved it! It's a mouthful though. So many chicken dishes and amazing flavors! I liked the sauce from the fried chicken. Paratha(?) scooped up the sauces wonderfully. My friends ordered the dishes so I wasn't always sure what I was eating but it was great! Dessert was impressive! Shaved mango lassi was sweet and the perfect ending. I liked the passionfruit sauce pooled around the shrikhand (block of frozen yogurt). Underground parking can be accessed via two ways, east side of el camino when heading north via Middle Ave or right past the place. Make sure to take the correct elevator up closer to the parking entrance, not the Villa Menlo Park elevator.

Great atmosphere and decor, fun and not overly formal. Servers were observant and helpful, but we waited quite a while for our food. It had also been a hot day, though, and the space was uncomfortably warm. We tried half a dozen items and all were tasty, but the cost is pretty high for what you get, probably close to $3 per bite. Fried chicken was our favorite dish, Cornish hens, and ground chicken kebabs were also great. Paneer stuffed roti was good, Eylan Eye tasty but quite small. I'd come again, but a bit spendy for what you get.

Hands down the best Indian restaurant I have been to in the Bay. It's definitely high end and on the pricier side but so worth the money. Every dish we had was amazing and with such uniquely delicious flavor combos. Huge fan of the Taro Root Chaat and Crispy Chicken for appetizers. The Roasted Cornish Hen was incredible as well. Drinks were also quite unique and tasty. Excellent service too. Would definitely recommend coming here with a group so you can try a bunch of the dishes.

    * Fresh, flavorful, and well-prepared food. * The drinks menu is creative, with unique and refreshing. * Great ambiance with a welcoming and stylish atmosphere. * Excellent overall dining experience and attentive service. * It is on the expensive side, but the quality, presentation, and experience make it worth it for a special outing.

We finally made it to Eylan after having loved Ettan and Copra for years, it had been on our list forever, and the new weekend brunch felt like the perfect excuse to go. One thing to note: the brunch menu is brand new, so all the Yelp/Google research honestly didn't help much going in. But that also made the experience fun. The space is beautiful the moment you walk in with the entrance rickshaw, patterned tiles, bold wall art, and warm lighting make it feel upscale but still relaxed. Compared to Ettan, the pacing here felt noticeably calmer, which worked perfectly for a slow, rainy day brunch today. For food, we shared a bunch of dishes: The chicken tikka puff was easily the standout and something I would go back for alone. It had flaky puff pastry stuffed with chicken tikka and served with tikka masala around it, super creative and genuinely delicious. The anar chicken sigri (chicken kebab) is wood fired and tasted delicious with the chutney. The moong dal vada chaat was refreshing and familiar in the best way, similar spirit to Copra/Ettan chaats but still nicely balanced. For mains, we ordered the chicken yakhni pulao. The rice and chicken were both deeply flavorful and comforting without feeling heavy. Since it was cold and rainy, the masala chai absolutely hit the spot, warm, aromatic, and cozy. Dessert was the tender coconut & lychee payasam, which was light, refreshing, and a great finish after a savory meal. Service was warm and friendly overall, though a small note - we had to ask a few times for serving spoons and dessert spoons. Minor annoyance, but nothing that took away from the experience. Overall, we had a really relaxing brunch and a great time. I would definitely come back to try the dinner menu next!

Eylan was fantastic for dinner! We visited on a Wednesday night, having made a reservation in advance. The interior was beautiful - dim lighting, funky lighting fixtures, trees and plants everywhere, etc. Much like Ettan, this place was decorated impeccably. For drinks, I chose the Not A Trace mocktail. The flavors were tasty, but this one was a little too sweet for me. For food, we ordered a bunch of items to share between the 3 of us - the Eylan Eye, Cured Hamachi, Anar Chicken Sigri Kebab, and Roasted Cornish Hen. All of these were phenomenal! The Hamachi was so soft and fresh and the different flavors in the Eylan Eye went together perfectly. Both the Anar Chicken and Cornish Hen were well-prepared, and I especially loved the tomatillo butter chicken sauce. The entire meal was an elevated take on familiar Indian flavors. We also ordered a dessert that I don't see on the menu now, but it was refreshing and fruity. Service was very professional and seamless. My partner and dad said the portion sizes were too small, but they were perfect for me. Would return in the future!

The staff was incredibly warm and hospitable, and once our full party arrived, everything flowed smoothly from appetizers to the main course. Every dish was top-notch. The highlight for me was the carbonara. It's the only place I've found that truly makes it the way they do in Rome. A few years ago, I visited Rome and, like a classic tourist, ate carbonara nonstop. Ever since then, I haven't been able to find anything that compares--until now. One bite honestly took me right back. Highly recommend. We'll definitely be coming back.

I had visited once before and also remembered ordering take-out from them a few years ago. I wasn't super impressed by them back then, but was open to seeing if I would have an improved opinion of them. Roma ITALIAN CUISINE is a casual dining spot that serves authentic dishes at Menlo Park's main drag, Santa Cruz Avenue. They offer both indoor, comfy quarters and sidewalk seating options equipped with heat lamps. Their warm, neighbourhood vibe with white-tablecloth comfort provides a relaxed atmosphere ideal for unwinding. Mom called Roma shortly after 7:30 PM to see if they had a table for five available for us. No problem, so we headed straight to the restaurant and arrived around 7:45 PM. We were quickly seated and served iced water. Unfortunately, we had to return 1.5 rounds of the water because the glasses were dirty. Mom asked our waitress/server #1 for sliced lemon for our water to which she was told that the kitchen ran out of lemons. Interestingly, our waiter/server#2 brought out the requested slices. This was the waitress' strike #1. Roma's cuisine is more traditional than trendy, serving an array of classic Northern Italian inspired dishes. In addition to the warm, soft complimentary bread, below are what we had for dinner: GNOCCHI ($27) + grilled chicken ($11) - The green pesto looked richly tasty and the potato dumplings looked plump and pillowy. V was a fan of his dish. SQUID INK PESCATORE ($38) - Both Mom and Z ordered this PASTA, but Z requested to substitute the clams with more of the other seafoods. Initially, we were told by the waitress/server #1 that there would be an extra charge for subbing the clams, but our waiter/server #2 ensured that where was no such surcharge. Strike #2 for waitress #1. Initial misinformation aside, Z and Mom were happy with their orders. LASAGNA ($30) - Substantial in size. Chaz finished every bite with enjoyment. POLLO MARSALA ($32) - Very good. I was pleasantly surprised to finally enjoy a dish at Roma. Service kicked off with major disappointment due to our waitress'/server#1's falsifications. Mom was extremely displeased by her which was completely understandable. Thankfully, our waiter/server #2 was much more helpful and friendly. He saved our dinner experience...and my opinion of Roma did, indeed, improve.

We ordered lahmacun, Divan kebab, and other kebabs, and every dish was absolutely delicious and full of flavor. The service was also wonderful everyone was very polite, welcoming, and attentive. We truly enjoyed our time there in every sense of the word. Highly recommended!

**Rating take out only**…read more Ordered take out for Father's Day. I got the Sultana Combo, lentil soup, and a chicken wrap. The Sultana Combo looks like not a lot of food, but is actually a lot of food! 3 adults ate this, had their fill, but still had some leftovers for the next day. My favorite part was the rice, other people's favorite parts were the veggies or the soup (we don't usually eat a lot of protein, but the protein was also good!). It's not an elevated, elegant dish, especially not to-go-ed, but it's hearty, homey, and filling. There wasn't a part we didn't like or didn't think was worth the money. They have ample indoor and some outdoor patio seating; on a beautiful Sunday afternoon, seems lime many people opted for the outdoor seating. While waiting for my pick up order, there was one party in front of me that waited for (apparently) an excessive amount of time because the kitchen was backed up. The workers were extremely kind, and even gave them baklava as an apology! Small things like that show that the store cares more for the community than just getting orders out. My only gripe is that I felt like everything was extremely salty--the three of us were chugging water all night after our meal. I think the salt levels work well if there was plain rice or plain veggies, but when everything is salted so each part of the dish can be eaten alone, you end up feeling parched and bloated at the same time... not a good feeling. Regardless, recommend!!

Not outrageous but not cheap, so pretty much what I expected. The wines were a mix of some varieties you might expect with other more exotic ones too. You can order a half glass if you just want a taste, and it's a good amount. They also have a couple of flights too. But because it's not primarily flights, it's great that you can pick and choose individual wines and create your own flight essentially. I much prefer this to other places where you might be forced to choose a flight that might have some wines you wouldn't choose to include. So I liked the open menu approach much better. We ordered the Brie with toasts and the burrata flatbread pizza (delicious!!). I'm sure the rest of the food is good too. High quality charcuterie, flatbreads, meatballs, a solid menu for a wine bar. Stop by and see for yourself. It's kind of hidden though on the side/almost rear of the Box building. Worth checking out. I liked it a lot and would return.

We ordered the meatballs, the shrimp and the pastrami sliders. The meatballs were extremely plain. The meat barely had any season or flavor. The sauce tasted like it was just out of can without much flavor too. The shrimp dish also was not cohesive, the sauce was the same sauce as the meatballs and then it was poured on top of plain chickpeas. The shrimps were decent but just light garlic flavor. The best dish was the pastrami slider. Maybe it was an off night but they also gave us the wrong bill and they charged us wrong on the second time? Maybe I should have just stuck to wine and cheese.
