$16 for this Caprese salad to go seems a bit overpriced for a few pieces of tomato and basil

For a few pieces of tomato and basil $16 is a ridiculous price to pay for a Caprese salad

We simply love all of the servers at Mezza Luna. Here for New Years Eve, we skipped the pasta and ordered the Antipasto with extra egg and tuna. Thanks Mike!

Mussels are very good! A great spot for a lunch with friends. Large bar. Good drinks. Bar tenders can be moody.

Great time Saturday night at Mezza Luna with my wife, her brother and his wife. They had their small wedding reception there 13 years ago at Mezza Luna. First off I enjoyed the atmosphere at the restaurant. Walked into the restaurant with a Frank Sinatra music playing. Hostesses were very pleasant and sat us immediately for our 5pm reservation. Chris our waiter was fantastic!! In terms of the food we all seemed to enjoy our meals plus our side salads. I liked the Italian Dressing on the salad. I had the Queen Cut Prime Rib & 2 Baked Stuffed Shrimp. Both were good. Not sure I would order it again, as I wasn't so impressed with the Stuffing. My wife had Fettuccine & Broccoli Alfredo which she enjoyed. She would order it again. My brother in law order the Regular Cut Prime Rib which he devoured. My sister in law had veggie lasagna. A big portion which she brought half home. We finished with Grapenut pudding which was probably the best I ever had. My brother & sister in law shared Lemoncello Cake which they really liked. If I could do half scores, I'd give 4.5. I would difinately come back. Very enjoyable.

We pop into this classic Italo-American restaurant a couple of times a year. The service is always prompt, knowledgeable and very helpful. I come from Providence and the ambiance of the place always reminds me of those great restaurants of RI in the 70's and 80's, like Twin Oaks and The Chateau. We met up with my hubby's sister and her husband and shared a plate of crispy eggplant fries with a nice zesty tomato sauce for dipping. Not usually hungry at 12 noon, when my in-laws wanted to meet us, I opted for another appetizer for my entée, mussels in a parmesan cream sauce. Both items were absolutely delicious, and with the basket of freshly (in-house) baked bread to 'inzuppare' it was plenty to eat. Not haute cuisine by any stretch, but good, classic Italo-American food served well.

We used them for a funeral luncheon. The food was delicious and great service and delivery to the door. They were so kind to us as well.

Nice restaurant, but is a little old fashioned. Not in the best way. Don't fall asleep at the wheel. A little update?

Good service, good portions, and standard food. It's always really cold in there though. Bring a coat and an appetite.

Not only is the setting home-y, but the staff is all very kind and quick to greet guests. The good old home feel doesn't stop with the setting or service, but it carries through to the food as well. The food comes out looking like a true, delicious, home-cooked meal with the flavor to back it up! For an appetizer I ordered the Charlie's Chowder, which is the best chowder I've ever had, in New England or otherwise. It comes packed with scallops, lobster, and cod, and is absolutely to die for. For my main course, I ordered the Lemon Caper Cod, which was also wonderful. The piece of cod is huge, and is served with a bed of rice, seasonal veggies (mine were carrots) and, of course, capers. The fish was tender and cooked to perfection and, while I'm not typically a huge carrot fan, the steamed carrots they made were sweet and tasty! If I knew how they make them I'd become a much bigger fan of carrots. From start to finish, everything about this place is top notch! A definite must try!

I wasn't starving, so I ordered what SEEMED to be lighter; Sea and Sand, which consists of a stuffed quahog and a cup of Charlie's Chowder. Just a quahog and a cup of chowder! You will NEVER have chowder with more seafood in it! At least 4 scallops, a large lump of crab, some pieces of lobster, and a lotta fish. A bowl would be a meal.

My Review Could Be Titled "Stick To Their Pizza" Ok,…read moreso.....my wife, family and I have been coming to Onset for the last few years, mainly ordered pizzas from here to go. Always good, if a bit on the pricey side. So... tonight my wife and I decided to walk into town from our rental, after having just driven 8 hours, unpacked, and chilled for a bit. So, the place was packed...and I guess I should've noticed that NOBODY was ordering anything but pizzas. Not wanting pizza, and looking over the menu while sipping our EXPENSIVE ($7.50 for a 12 oz. PLASTIC cup!) beers. The minestrone (now THAT's Italian, right?) soup was mostly watery broth, with not much flavor. No redish tomatoey broth, very little spice. But...the veggies were fresh. The broccoli bites - hot, cheesy, I liked 'em, wife didn't. The BIG disappointment was the Large antipasta salad. They basically threw some slices of ham, a few slices of salami, and a couple of slices of cheese on a bed of chopped lettuce, sliced cucumbers and a few sliced cherry tomatoes. Oh, and a coupla pita bread quarters for ? (appeasement). Oh, and all this was arranged in one of those round aluminum foil "to go" dishes. For the money, NOT WORTH IT! Next time, IF THERE IS ONE, we'll get pizza by the slice, or maybe a whole pie. Maybe my tastebuds are tainted by having some of the BEST Greek pizza in Tilton, NH & Western Massachusetts, or perhaps the delectable Italian pies at many Jersey Shore pizzarias.....but...for what we paid, I could've had 2 large pies to go and skipped their over-priced beers!
