Really good pizza. Slices are crispy and it's probably from the semolina flour used on the peel instead of plain white flour which makes for a nice crispy bottom. The pizza is crispy and chewy and is not over sauced nor does it have too much cheese on it. The pizza folds perfectly and will not flop over when folded and held up. Nice sized slices toom Really no gripes. Would have liked a few more pepperoni on my slice but that's a small thing. Otherwise no big deal. read more

Deep dish mushroom slice to go, so good I had to make the block and get another. Crispy focaccia style crust crackle, but tender and pillow soft inside. Generous and not too sweet marinara with hefty garlic aroma and taste a perfect companion for the toothsome portobello. Wonderful! read more

DISGUSTING. The food here has gotten progressively worse. They built up a customer base by serving the local college kids and people passing through who don't know better. I've just eaten there for the last time. I was starving so I figured anything will be good enough; WRONG. I got a chicken calzone which was made up of finely diced leftover chicken cutlet which certainly should have been thrown out. It tasted like it was left for days in a lukewarm defrosting refrigerator. I can't believe they serve this to customers. I ended up throwing most of it out after a couple of bites. I just couldn't do this to myself. Also, only cheap places finely chop their leftovers and serve them as calzones. I say again... DISGUSTING. Don't do it to yourself. There are plenty of options for good food in the area. read more

Love this spot. Huge slices with crispy crusts. Definitely try the buffalo chicken slice. The staff are super nice. Full moon is the perfect pit stop if your touring little Italy and want a slice. They are a bit pricey at $5- $6 bucks per slice, but you'll definitely be full. However, beware, there are lots of Fordham students and family's that fill this place up on any given day, but limited seating. read more

Pizza is sitting on the table counter waiting for customers to buy it. They bake to much pizza for the customer they expect to get. They reheat the pizza that is sitting there a couple of hours or a day who knows. It taste old and a reheat pizza is never good. Pizza should be one bake straight out the oven and on your plate to enjoy and eat it. You want to find out of a place that sells good pizza, that a customer (many) wait for slice straight of the oven for a fresh pie let me know read more

#8 Right in the heart if Little Italy on 187 and Arthur Avenue. While this is a good slice, I suspect it is not the best that Little Italy or the Bronx has to offer. It is a solid slice. Like another place on this pizza journey, they seem to salt the bottom of the pie which throws the balance off for me. I expect the salt flavors to come from the cheese on top, not the dough on the bottom. Also, they make all type of slices (buffalo chicken, etc) which always makes me a little skeptical. An authentic NY pizzeria should make 4 to 5 types of pizza: Regular, Sicilian, Grandma, White, etc. I would rate it a 3.25. read more

Went here last week by recommendation of a local bakery. Had the sausage pizza with peppers. I guess they call it a specialist pizza. For 6.50 USD it was hardly worth it. The pizza was just OK to me. The pizza here is tasty and fresh. I have a tomato allergy so they were very careful with my white, spinach and artichoke slice, making sure it was warmed up separately from the regular tomato sauces slices. My slice of pizza was delicious and huge. 2 things that always make the best pizza experience and is a NYC pizza requirement. Like the saying goes, "If you can make it here, you can make it anywhere". This is NY Pizza 101. Not every pizza is NY pizza quality, we have a reputation to uphold after all. $6 for specialty slices and $4.50 for a regular slice, which is high imo. The slices we got (white, regular cheese, eggplant parm) were not that great. Garlic knots looked mind-blowing with chopped parsley and fresh garlic, but I didn't think the dough had enough chew nor enough salt overall. A pass for me. read more

The cheese is the only thing good on the pizza strait cardboard. You may try the chicken park it looks more appealing than other places I've seen but the pizza gets a two because the price and quality just do not match up. read more

Came in for a quick bite after visiting the zoo, and I think I may have been better off eating with the animals. The regular slice was heated too long and so the crust was inedible, the sauce was too salty and overall the slice was dull. The eggplant Parm slice was basic. The only thing you can taste is the eggplant, the sauce and cheese however, made no difference in the overall flavor. Avoid the broccoli roll at all costs! It was overly bitter! All in all, this spot is overpriced and I definitely do not recommend eating here. The Italian guy taking our order seemed irritated too and very short with his coworkers. I ended up leaving most of my pizza uneaten, which is not something I do often. Stay away and find somewhere worth eating at read more

Had a delicious spinach-loaded, crispy-crusted, pesto-covered slice and cannot wait to come back. Also, I don't eat sausage, but the guy next to me was eating the broccoli rabe and sausage hero and it looked amazing - packed with vibrant but tender greens, accented with sausage. I feel like this place brings the veggie-heavy Italian style of cooking that I loved in Italy, plus the crispy New York crust. read more

Surprisingly for the area it's one of the few pizza places. Everyone always remarks that there are not more places to buy pizza. That said it's pretty good. Most people have unrealistic expectations for Pizza in the area. It's not Roman style it's an American style. I'd even recommend it over some of the other local restaurants (such as the terribly overrated Enzo's). read more

This joint does a legit slice. Crust is light and airy, sauce and cheese are applied in perfect amounts, and it should be noted that the slices are pretty huge, probably like 15%-20% bigger than your typical slice. Could use a bit more char/blistering/crispness but still v good. Place gets crowded so expect to maneuver for a table or eat on the sidewalk. read more

I've been here three times now and the pizza is certainly nothing special, especially given the attitudes of the guys behind the counter. Your standard NY slice, but at twice the price if you're getting ANYTHING on it. The rating would have been a solid 3, however, this 2 is really for this weird experience I had: It's not that I didn't enjoy the mediocrity of it all, but I have to say when the guys behind the counter start speaking ill of customers in Spanish...like, this is 'murrica and lots of Gringos hablan Espanol...but, I digress. 1. White slice--"pretty not bad" as my Japanese teacher used to say, but I've had better. I appreciate that there was a good amount of ricotta on here and the tomatoes were a nice touch. 2. Buffalo Chicken Slice--the man actually warned me that this was "very spicy" and suggested I order a different slice! WTF?! OK, I don't know who he thought he was talking to, but I love anything hot. I'll eat a hot pepper with nothing else because it makes me feel like a badass, tastes like hot fire (amazing), I'm Jamaican...like what are you even smoking back there? Buffalo sauce ain't hot, and especially not whatever canned variety this is! I was offended. He literally took my slice away and started to show me other pizzas. I could go on more about this, but I just want to forget the whole thing ever happened. 'Annoyed' does not begin to describe my mood. $5, NOT SPICY AT ALL, and really not very appetizing, either. You can get this exact same taste at most of your neighborhood spots, without making the journey if you're in another borough. And even if you live right around here, I'd suggest Zero Otto, Antonios, or even Joe's (average slices). The service coupled with the basic quality here are no reasons to find myself back at Full Moon Pizzeria. Also, my friend and I arrived there at 7:56 PM and they allegedly close at 9:00 PM. So, can anyone explain to me why there was a rush to clean the entire space and stop selling pizza at 8:00?! Such f*ckery. read more

Best pizza in New York, hands down. Located off Arthur Ave in the Bronx in Little Italy, this place is the saving grace of local lunch options. Make sure to try the vegetable pizza. One word: amazing. Or just get a regular slice - it's crazy delicious, especially for something so simple. If you have guests coming into town, go to the botanical garden or zoo nearby and stop by for a slice afterwards. Not only is the food amazing, but the local markets are shopping fun (albeit expensive). Get fresh pasta, desserts, rolled cigars, sausage that hangs from the ceiling of the local butcher shop, and just about anything else you can imagine. The neighborhood has an old New York vibe to it that you just don't get in Manhattan anymore. Believe me, they (and you, if you've never been there before) will thank you for the trip. read more

My first visit to Arthur Avenue was yesterday. We were looking for a place for pizza and decided upon Full Moon Pizzeria. I didn't realize it was a restaurant that sold pizza by the slice. I'm always a little wary of those places as sometimes the pizza is not as fresh because it's been sitting. So, we purposely ordered a pie. When our pizza came it was huge. I thought it was a large but it was really small. The pizza tasted okay and had a good crust, cheese, and sauce, but did I think that it was extraordinarily extra special? Not really. I think I was expecting something extraordinary since it was on Arthur Avenue. However, I'm looking forward to trying other pizza places on Arthur Avenue to see what they are like. I would not go out of my way to eat at Full Moon Pizzeria. The service was very good and friendly. It's a small and casual place. read more

We also ordered two sodas. I love that it's brick oven pizza. Food totaled at $25 and we tipped the guy $8 since he was quick and attentive. Food was great and the restaurant is beautiful. The small raviolis just can't swim in my pot! The older gentleman behind the counter asks if he can help me. I ask him to open the box and actually show me the larger ravioli. Oh baby, they are large and in charge. Why I walked out with one box still boggles my mind because I should have bought 3. I'm not in the area too often and the extra boxes would have carried me through the winter. I hand over my cash and the gentleman says God Bless to me. I'm not getting blessings on Long Island! The buttery chicken wings oh my God dripping with goodness each bite was legit finger licking good lol. The butter chicken macaroni very very delicious. Had a nice cheese pull and a good balance could not stop eating it. The steak nachos were delicious I wish It had a little more meat, but it was not bad. The butter chicken sandwich with sweet potato fries also delicious and the fries were cooked so nicely that it was crispy and soft at the same time per bite. The mom's butter chicken platter was delicious they gave the right amount of sauce, the pita bread was delicious and soft, the salad that it was paired with was good too the rice was decently portioned. Everything was definitely tasty. Not one complaint of any of the meals. We did not wait long for the food. Bathrooms were nice and clean. I want to come back to try more things in the menu that's how good the food was and our group agreed to also come back with us. This spot is definitely a place to try. They have a beautiful quote right near the bar that really spoke to us, especially during these times it said "you are exactly where you need to be." It makes you stop for a second and really take it in and just live in the moment ... especially living in New York, where you have to be always go go go fast fast fast. This was really beautifully written thank you to the staff who made our night and our friend's birthday special we'll see you soon.

I have been a patron of Full Moon since I was a child which is about 20+ years. I have friends who know the owner and family. The fact that my experience today has turned me completely off from this establish is crazy. The pizza was fine, however, I had an issue with how certain patrons are treated by both the workers and the day manager or supervisor. A delivery person came in to pick up the food and the workers behind the counter proceeded to whistle at him. Whistling is common however, after he approached the counter, they continued to whistle at him as if he was a dog until he left. Like a "come here boy" whistle. Unacceptable. Additionally, I was finishing up my slice and the manager proceeded to bring his bleach and dirty towel to wipe down my area inches away from me and my food. I couldn't even finish my food because the smell was so pungent. I understand that they were closing down in the next 30 minutes however I'm still eating... what would prompt you to put a cleaning rag so close to me while I'm eating. He proceeded to cleaning tables that were empty. All in all, the hospitality and treatment of all populations has taken an all time low. This was my favorite pizza spot and is a staple on the little Italy area. I have photos from here and to think that anyone I send here could possibly be treated similarly is a disservice to the legacy of this restaurant. read more

After participating in the Tour de Bronx, it's tradition for us to hit up Little Italy for a cold brew at the Beer Hall. When we were there there was an inappropriate show on the tv which was awkward since we had a child with us. Staff was nice enough to change it & accommodating. Pizza's flavor is nothing special just the shape & size of the slice which was expe. Wish they did more interactive things when it came to the challenge in house. My husband finished one big slice while there but it seemed anticlimactic.

They've gone through several changes over the years, and I genuinely feel this current ownership has done the best job revamping the menu. The space is always clean and well kept, and everything on display looks fresh and appetizing. What really sets them apart is their use of pepperoni cups instead of the typical thin-sliced style. Whenever I'm in the mood for that crispy, cupped pepperoni, this is where I go. While I'm usually loyal to classic thin slice New York pizza, I was feeling adventurous and ordered their "deep dish" style pie. I was not disappointed and will order it again.

Decided on six items with a mix of one full tray plus halves. For the half trays she chose Eggplant Parmesan, Baked Ziti, Mild Buffalo Wings, Mixed Green Salad plus Fusilli with Garlic and Oil. And a full tray of Chicken Cutlets. The disappointments were the unseasoned chicken cutlets and the underwhelming buffalo wings. The mixed salad was good. The Fusilli with Garlic and Oil was a hit. Followed up by okay Baked Ziti and Eggplant Parm. The catered items also included an assortment of breads, accompanying sauces plus a bonus bag of pizzeria dough Zeppoles. All arrived at the requested delivery time and despite the few disappointments, folks left the event content.
