Bringing it down a few stars after eating at this establishment routinely for the last year. While we love Vic and Lucy, we must be honest with the state of the union at Mezza. As some may have noticed, the prices have risen dramatically this last year. While we understand supply chain and food costs have also risen, we do expect the quality and accuracy of the food to stay in step. Unfortunately, neither has. Last two take out orders were incorrect and the food quality has nose dived. The angry mussels are almost inedible due to an extreme salt content. Bolognese is sparse and proportions are less. Bread was stale and salad looked like 2 day old lettuce. Short on sauces as well. This may be an result of 8pm and later orders but my goodness, for prices now equivalent to the "fancy" Italian restaurant down the street, we question the value proposition of Mezza. read more

Came here to get take away dinner for the family. I started my order with an 18" Grandma pie and the nice lady at the counter said they were out of that crust for the night but a gentleman behind her stepped up and said they would make it from scratch on the spot. I understand when you pre-bake crust for the day but to offer and follow through on making it on the spot was awesome. I ordered for five. Three pizzas and two pastas and a chicken parmigiana. After ordering I liked they offer to email or text receipts. No wasted paper. Once I finished paying I decided to wait outside the restaurant for the order to finish. Though the restaurant was empty at the late hour and I'm sure they wouldn't have minded if I sat inside especially with there store laid out nicely to help social distancing. And it felt and looked very clean inside. I was on the phone talking to my wife and they were nice enough to bring the entire order out in a nicely packaged box to me. I really enjoyed my experience in the restaurant and with its staff. Upon getting home the food is great! Hits the spot for pizza and pasta for sure. The salads are small but the pizza and pasta portions are quite large. The meals are filling and delicious. My family and I will return for more. read more

Throughly confused why this place has a high rating. We got gnocchi bolognese and garlic knots. It taste like something I could get at a college food hall at best. No seasoning what so ever. It taste like the dumped a can of tomato sauce on my pasta and sprinkled in some over cooked un seasoned ground beef. If you do end up going don't get the gnocchi. It also came with a salad. It was chunks of iceberg and 2 huge tomato slices and a chunk of a cucumber. Very disappointed. read more

Pizza was mediocre at best. Ordered a large pie at 4:20 for pickup at 5. Was not ready when I go there so had to wait 10 minutes. They probably forgot about my order as they kept asking me what I ordered. Prices seemed a little high for a 16 inch large. You can get a large (which should be 18 inches) for the same price. I gave it a try and won't be back. Riccis and Johnny's are better in my opinion. read more

First time visitors....ordered a large Margherita and Large Meatlovers pizza as well as 2 cannolis. Pizzas were ready on-time for pickup. Once home have to say love the crust - perfectly cooked and crispy, very tasty. Margherita was light on the basil but good, the Meatlovers was tasty and light on the meat...looked like a rushed prep as the distribution of meat was inconsistent and the amount of meat was light. Still tasty but Meatlovers really projects a meaty topping. The sauce and cheese were tasty and the crust was perfect. Will try again but this is a competitive pizza market as well. read more

I love this family-run pizza place. It's tucked inside a Food Lion plaza on Jenks Rd and 55 which is super convenient. We've been there on a Friday night and only waited a few minutes for a table. We catered our grandsons graduation dinner and ordered from the catering menu: large pasta and meatballs, large eggplant parmigiana, small sausage and peppers and 5 loaves of their homemade bread.....Being Italian and always cooking I was worried but it did not disappoint. Love this Italian spot. I moved to NC from Long Island in 2013 and spent years trying to find authentic tasting Italian food like I used to eat in Brooklyn. I finally found it at Mezza. Absolutely everything I've tried here is delicious. Yes the pizza is amazing but so is pretty much every entree and dessert. I haven't tried the apps yet. This was by far, one of the best Italian restaurants we have found in the Apex:Cary area. My husband had the calzone and it was stuffed ricotta, pepperoni and mushrooms and I had the Chicken Parm Pizza which was to die for! I love Italian food but I am allergic to garlic.
