I really enjoy going to this place to eat outside and spend quality time with my significant other over a nice meal. If you go right at 5pm, it isn't busy yet and you can get a table super easy. The servers are super friendly and helpful if you want recommendations. They are definitely noticeably slower when it gets more busy and after they take your order the service seems to go downhill. You will likely have to flag them over at some point during your stay. The drinks here are very good. I have not run into one I have not thoroughly enjoyed. I have tried multiple pasta dishes and my favorites have been the ones that rotate and aren't always on the menu. One of the ones that is always there, the tajarin, was just okay in my opinion. The slow roasted carrots had it beat. A lot of the Antipasta dishes we have tried have been very good. So bright with color, flavor and freshness. Great atmosphere and food. We sat inside, the restaurant is cozy and charming. Our waiter was very professional, we didn't wait around for anything. The cocktails were very good, we started with the focaccia (amazing) and a cauliflower appetizer. The pastas were incredible - my husband had the special of cacio a Pepe with truffles - he loved it, I had the risotto with tart cherry tomatoes, also incredible and our teen had the bolognese. Friends reviewed tons of outdoor seating restaurants with heaters and this one came to the top. Located in Georgetown it was a drive for each of us but we thought it would be great place to go. With that said, i tried to make reservations several times online but they didnt have it avail. So I decided to go there at 4pm when they opened. Parking was fairly easy close to the front entrance. Once I arrived was greeted by someone who asked me if i had made reservations which I said no. I told him I tried a few days before and he scoffed at me sating he was just on there and it worked. I was taken aback. The place was practically empty and he was razzing me about a rez which was not my fault I had not been able to make it. I actually would have preferred one with COVID. Anyways, he seats me at a table and there were several - all were empty except one which seated a couple. After I got comfortable he came back and told me he made aistakr and had me moce to another table. Although i feltnkt was inconvenient and weird, i did it as i didnt want to cause any more weirdness esp with rez comment. It really had me think about this place as I had not even ordered yet and this is how I felt. Long story short despite all of the drama, the food and drinks were amazing. Despite the front person, our server was great. We had everything she recommended and made a lot sense as everything was fresh and delicious. Neat space, loved the ambiance inside with the modern rustic vibes. Admired seeing the action in the bar and observing all if the fresh goodness being mixed to make the house-made digestivi. Tables inside are tight, be ready to be up close to your neighbor and do not forget your reservation! We ordered Tajarin Al Coltello + Riginette with Focaccia with Party Sauce. Next time, for sure going to explore more if the menu to break up the carbs! Our server we very helpful and explained the menu to us. So knowledgeable and explained each dish and suggested wines. We had a variety of antipasti and pasta courses. All were good but I thought the pasta courses were a bit small, perhaps assuming one would have a second course. Bit there were no vegetarian second courses that appealed to me. Some places solve this problem by offering two sizes for the past course. My spontaneous visit to Mezzanotte back on 8/21/20 ended up being takeout. Friday evening wishing to dine al fresco, yeah good luck with that. Plus they ran out of some menu items that evening per the apologetic host person. The two takeout entrees were $15 each: Tajarin Salsiccia e Burro Rigatoni Cacio e Pepe It was just disappointing because the commitment made coming southbound from Shoreline to Georgetown. The pasta entrees selected were not standouts and also a bit on the smallish side for the price. Seattle has many quality spots to enjoy Italian cuisine with fresh handmade pasta. It is a pretty small serving you get, for $15 which looks even smaller in the small soup cup in comes in. Order other items to fill up. Came here for the New Year's Eve tasting menu. We've had dinner here twice before that. For all three experiences, there were some common themes. There is always at least one really outstanding, inspired dish, and the focaccia and drinks are excellent. Love the space. Service is usually decent. There always seems to be one meh dish, though. For NYE, unfortunately there were two. The squash flan looked like an upturned can of cat food. It even somehow had marks on it like it had been in a can. (My partner and I both had the cat food thought separately from each other.) There was also another part of this dish that had the same puréed consistency, so it felt like eating a plate of mush. The pepitas and one fried sage leaf didn't help with that. (Edited to add: Just looked at their Instagram, and that flan dish looks different than what we got. On Instagram, it doesn't have the marks on top, it looks baked in a way ours didn't, the sauce isn't in blob form on the side, and there are multiple sage leaves. Not what we got.) That should have been the only meh dish, but unfortunately, the otherwise-tasty halibut dish was so overcooked that the fish was actually tough. I could tell it was hammered before I even touched it, so I'm not sure how it got past the kitchen and server. Probably should have sent it back, but I hate wasting food. At least the beans in that dish were delicious. But, it was pretty disappointing to get halibut jerky as part of a $150/person meal. I can't even think of a time when I've gotten fish that hammered at a restaurant in Seattle. I want to love this place so much, but I'm not sure we'll be back at this point unless consistency improves. read more

We paid ~$22 for their special raviolis which includes 6 tiny flavorless raviolis with very little and tasteless sauce, $15 for a tiny amount of rhubarb amaro. $14 for some sad cabbage with vinegar and cheese. The bread and tajarin were good but not exceptional by any means, just with a lot of butter and cheese. A creative menu that highlights the handmade pasta. We had the Reginette (with pork and beef ragú) and Casarecce (with squash, dill, chilis and almonds). All by itself the pastas were amazing, chewy and firm with a texture to which the sauces clung. No soupy sauce left at the bottom of the plate. Apologies about our photos ... the dishes were so inviting we started eating before remembering to snap the pictures. There are 3 other pastas on the menu and it would be a treat to visit Mezzanotte, again, to try them. For the pasta, alone, an "excellent" rating is warranted. But... keep reading. On the disappointing side were the selections of antipasti. For something green, the only choice was radicchio (which isn't green). There's no choice for something crunchy, juicy and green to balance the dense savory choices elsewhere on the menu. In search of a vegetable, we ordered the roasted carrots. While the dish was artistically presented, the carrots seems warmed over and the presence of whole potatoes in this dish was not part of the description. In addition, the ample amount of agilata was not paired with enough rye crisp to be able to scoop it up. The rye crisp was more of an adornment. Instead bread would have been needed. However, that had to be ordered separately (at $5 for a meager serving). For the 3 items and no wine/cocktail, the cost was ~$70. We were there on a Saturday night. The restaurant uses Tock for reservations which are needed if you want to eat indoors. It being December, we thought a good idea. We had difficulty making a reservation through Tock. The app kept dropping. A voicemail message was left but it took a few days for them to call back, leaving us hanging as to whether we had a Saturday reservation or not. On Saturday morning, we got a phone call to say that we had an indoor reservation. Our recommendation is to go for the pasta and don't expect any vegetables. Alternatively, get a couple orders of the bread plus a couple antipasti and enjoy these with wine ... as we observed others doing. We happened to be seated by the bar ... so if you're into cocktails it appears they're popular here and made with a flourish! One last comment: we were seated near the bar which provided an excellent view of the kitchen and the bar. But was also close to the open window through which orders were provided to the outdoor seating. I had to wrap my coat around my legs to keep warm and my companion needed to move his chair to sit next to me, rather than across the table, in order to get out of the way of servers continually going in/out of the kitchen with orders. For the entire time we were eating, there were 3 empty tables elsewhere in the same room; so, not sure why we ended up where we did. read more

Came here for a date night a couple months back. Their menu is seasonal and changes over time. The seating inside is very lovely, and the ambience is rustic. We ordered a round of drinks with the roasted carrots for appetizers. These were so delicious - probably my favorite dish from here. For main course, we got the tajarin al cotello and another red sauce dish, although I can't find it on the menu anymore. Personally, we found the food to be sub-par. It was cold when it arrived (although maybe that was intentional), and the pasta was too al-dente for us, especially the red sauce one. The tajarin was nice, but felt rather heavy after a couple bites. We enjoyed the carrots, however. Although a small establishment, the prices were very high, with our bill coming out to be $100+. Overall, not sure I'd come again - the food was not worth the price being charged, and their menu doesn't offer many vegetarian options. read more

THE HIGHLIGHTS 1) Lots of spacious outdoor seating (music and planes provide background noise). 2) High quality hand cut pasta flavored well! 3) Small portions--so share and order at least 4 dishes (including apps) for 2 people. During COVID, outdoor seating is plentiful and spacious with more than sufficient social distancing. Music plays along with the roar of airplanes flying over into Boeing Field every so often. The food--small portions but amazing flavor and quality. We got the Tagarin pasta and Verde salad. Both dishes were nicely flavored, erring on the saltier side (for my taste). The pasta is hand cut and cooked perfectly to appreciate the intricate texture of hand cut pasta. I would highly recommend ordering more than just the salad and pasta, as the portions are small and are not necessarily meant for a full meal. Overall, I would recommend checking out this place for a nice summer dine out experience at one of Seattle's newest eateries. read more

Wowow, what a great and delicious addition to the Georgetown neighborhood. The mezza limonata was sooo tasty, reminded me of a boozed up jamba juice smoothie! The salad we got was also delicious, perfect amount of dressing and good portion for two people. The star of the show for me was the spaghetti puttanesca, perfect amount of flavor with a really nice but not overwhelming spicy kick to it. Would get this dish over and over again. i had been looking forward to this experience and it did not disappoint. we opted for small plate appetizers and sadly couldn't order the granchio because they were apparently out of crab. i was pretty sad about that because i'm a huge fan of beets and combined with the other listed ingredients, it sounded like a grand slam of a small plate. that being said, the carrots were very tasty but the burrata was the star! incredibly refreshing with the peas and attractively plated. the focaccia is light and airy and with enough of a hint of sea salt to really augment the flavor of whatever you are combining it with. the cocktail and wine section was ample; i doubt people would have a problem finding something they'd be happy with. the service was great and the outdoor patio was a good choice although for those considering this location and not necessarily familiar with georgetown, you're going to be bombarded by the plane traffic into boeing field. two of my other favorite restaurants are in this hood so i know to expect the belly of the planes to be coming in low and thunderous but it's worth mentioning for folks from out of town, just so the noise factor is something being taken into account. mezzanotte is now going to be a place i'll think about putting in my normal dining out rotation.. i imagine that they have the creativity to change things up either occasionally or by season and if tonight's introduction was any indication, i will be curious what else they offer up. read more

It pains me to write a bad review for a restaurant but I feel I must warn others wanting to try the piccolo nonnakase that it is absolutely not worth it. For a 6 course meal, we were served the burrata (on regular menu), green goddess salad (on regular menu), two off-menu vegetarian pastas (an agnolotti stuffed with cheese and a rigatoni like pasta in a spicy red sauce), a 4-6 oz salmon main course to share (which was similar to on regular menu item but ours had no chanterelles) and a tiramisu in a small mason jar for dessert. Using their a la carte pricing, I estimate that the dishes cost $146 (being generous here) but was charged $180 for two people. I've never had such an experience where an omakase was less value than a la carte offerings. The dishes themselves were hit and miss - the burrata with apples was inventive but three of the dishes were sprinkled with the same nuts for texture and the potatoes accompanying the main were undercooked. It was unfortunately a very disappointing experience. read more

I really enjoyed my meal & the whole experience here. We were able to walk in on a Thursday & nab a table but from other reviews, it seems we got very lucky. We came a little early and it had filled by the time we left. I imagine the menu will be switching up for the season soon but we started with the carrots & they were really tasty. Perfectly roasted, infused w/ a punch of citrus & resting on a creamy bed of ricotta. The house-made focaccia was a miss, although I was glad to have it to soak up every bit of carroty deliciousness. The Tjarin & ragout pastas were also perfection. I both wanted to gobble up the Tjarin and also savor every delicious noodle. The portions are on the lighter side & I was hungry on this day, so we also went for dessert. I am still dreaming of the chestnut mouse dessert a few weeks later. It was not too sweet with lots of contrast of flavors and textures. Fun to try something both traditional and modern at the same time. Finally, we are big Amaro fans and this place has a fantastic Amari menu. I hope they will take my suggestion & add local fave letterpress distillers to the Amari collection. That leads me to my last point, which is that the service was so warm & engaged without hovering. We felt very well taken care of while here. The dining is beautiful and we loved being seated near the kitchen so we could watch the action. The service was chaotic and haphazard, with many tables left staring at menus for 15-20 minutes. The food was dreadful - my tuna puttanesca had as much pasta water as sauce, and the diced tuna has the consistency of over-cooked pork. There's not a world where it was a $32 pasta dish. I'm only giving it 2 stars for the focaccia with party sauce and the fact that all the food was taken off our check (though we barely ate anything). Bummer. read more

I think mezzanotte is my fav pasta place in Seattle! The restaurant is really cute and has a large outdoor patio with a ton of heat lamps. We got the burrata, reginette, gigli, and chocolate tort. The burrata was super creamy and delicious but doesn't come with bread, so I'd suggest getting the focaccia with it. The reginette pasta sauce was super meaty and flavorful, and I loved the noodles! They're not common to find in pasta places. The gigli was also a fun pasta shape and the sauce was super heavy on the parmesan, and the mushrooms were cooked really well. Lastly, I loved the chocolate tort! It was super moist, and the whipped cream was so good. The persimmon didn't have a ton of flavor, but the tort was so good that I didn't mind. We hosted a party of 10 for a pre-wedding dinner at Mezzanotte and it was fabulous! From planning to eating (and great wine advice) our experience was flawless. Sitting in the tent watching flight arrivals in the night rain, never felt more luxurious. Our entire party left raving about the food (extraordinary), ambiance (super chic, don't miss the bathroom!) and service (on point). Especially appreciated that the angle of the building next door that seemed to provide the perfect shade in the evening to prevent tables from baking in the sun. Music choices were old school and fun though quite random. Our server was very nice and the drinks and wine options were good, but everything Including the drinks came out rather slowly. Taste wise, everything we had was very good. I would highly recommend getting the roasted carrots. This was beautiful in presentation but surprisingly really delicious and flavorful. The burrata was very light and refreshing, the bread was yummy and addicting, and the pastas were perfect Al Dante. My mushroom pasta with leeks with poor man's sauce was not too rich, but was very hearty and flavorful. Really enjoyed that. My friend's butter and sage pasta was good, but very rich. So disappointed by the service. They didn't bring us water, didn't have the right amount of place settings. Didn't bring our appetizers before our entrees even though we ordered those 30 minutes prior to our entrees. Didn't bring all the entrees we ordered and when we asked about it, the server simply just said I must have missed that one, my bad. It took something like 45 minutes before we even got our bread and judging by the other photos, it seems we were supposed to get olive oil with it and we never did. Now into the food. I had high hopes, tbh, but was kind of let down. Maybe the service tainted it. The best dish was probably the reginette. The flavor of the meat was good, the pasta texture was good. I would say overall all the pastas were a little heavy handed and too salty. The pasta texture was also pretty good in the caserecce and rye spaghetti. However the caserecce was too acidic/sour. The rye spaghetti probably would have been more appropriate for a fall/winter dish, but overall I'm a fan of duck. Also a tad too salty. Appetizers we tried quite a few too. Slow roasted carrots stuck out as the best to me. Good flavors and the accompanying ricotta sauce was pretty tasty. The salumi plate and porchetta were mediocre. I think the buratta was kind of unique in the flavors, but not totally amazed by it. Dessert was even less than mediocre. The chocolate torte was like a crumbly slice of brownie and the warm pecorino had a unique flavor but the cheese strips were totally rubbery in texture. I did enjoy their drinks. The monk's death in the afternoon in Venice was cute and enjoyable. Overall the outdoor area is a wonderful ambience, especially on a summer night. I probably won't go back. With other restaurants around the Seattle area that do pasta amazingly and also get the service right, it's hard to want to spend the money at a place that's mediocre all around, and poor on the service. You see and hear a lot of airplanes right over head. The cocktails were fun and the They had a nice range of Italian wines. Take a peek at the menu before you go though, it's not very big...so if you have dietary restrictions or are a picky eater, you're gonna want to make sure they have something you like. I used to be a cacio e pepe girl, but the buttery goodness and simplicity of this dish was mouth-watering. It was perfection on a plate. So much so that we ordered another one instead of dessert! The pasta was a bit undercooked, even for al dente, and I would've preferred ground pepper to peppercorns, because if you happened to bite into one...your mouth was on fire. COVID-19: As of 5.1.21, they had outdoor dining available. We got there around 4:50 PM on that Saturday and just had to wait about 5 minutes for the table to be ready. Cocktails: My Jamaican Guy $12: It was a nice drink. I'm not itching to get it again, but I did finish all of it. Heavenly Creatures $11: After the first sip, my boyfriend said it tasted like meat juice?! And then later felt the gin was overpowering. I tried a sip and it definitely had a unique taste that's not for me (I like fruity). Food: For the 2 of us, we were originally thinking an appetizer and 2 pastas, but we couldn't narrow down our pasta choices so we did 3 pastas instead. Tajarin $21: And I'm so glad we went with 3 pastas because this was the 3rd choice and ended up being my favorite! It was so fresh and tasty. Our server recommended we eat this one first because it's best while hot. After we finished the pasta, he asked if he could clear our plate, but I said no because there was still butter on it! Bucatini Cacio e Pepe Tricolore $17: This was the one I was most excited for, as I first had a cacio e pepe gnocchi dish in San Diego that I loved. However, I felt like the cheese (or the pepper?) used here was too strong or something. I just wasn't feeling it, and ended up using this pasta to finish up the butter sauce left on the aforementioned plate which helped mellow it out. Reginette $18: I don't usually get ragu or meat sauces with my pasta, but we figured we could go for variety since the others were more cheese forward. It was very flavorful and the pasta itself was interesting. It reminded me of lasagna sheet edges. Lemon Parfait $8: The desserts are not posted on the menu, but on our visit we were told the options were a lemon parfait or a (cold?) bread pudding. My boyfriend chose the parfait because he likes lemon. The sesame seeds were a really nice touch. Try your best to get all the flavors in one spoonful so that the lemon isn't too overpowering. Overall, I love pasta and I admire the simplicity of the menu. My first experience of dining outside due to Covid. And honestly it was great. A few friends that had Cabin Fever, decided to go to this authentic Italian spot in Georgetown (the owner is an amazing human btw) They had a large wedding style tent outside with lights hanging and decor with heaters by our table. The food was awesome (everyone enjoyed their meals) and we were right next the bar window, so the drinks were flowing all night from are cool waitress! I really wanted to like this place, truly. After all, I absolutely LOVE Ciudad and I enjoyed Bar Ciudad when it was open. But unfortunately this place just left me with a resounding feeling of "meh." Sure, the staff was nice and food was serviceable but there was nothing really above and beyond or special about Mezzanotte. Now granted, when it comes to pasta in Seattle I was comparing this place against Spinasse and Il Corvo/Il Nido, which is some tough competition to be compared with. But unfortunately I felt like the food wa a pretty lackluster. In fact, we ordered the Rigatoni and I had to send it back because it was so undercooked that the pasta almost had a crunch to it. I was told that they prepare they fresh pasta "extra al dente" but in my mind it wasn't cooked enough and they graciously replaced the dish with the Pomodoro, which was nice. The green salad was fresh, light, and appropriately dressed. The Panna Cotta was a nice sweet finish although we didn't care for the figs on top. The price point of around $15 for each of the pasta dishes seemed reasonably, although the half carafe of the house red wine for $24 seemed a bit steep. This place is an awesome addition to Georgetown. Yum! They have heated and covered outside patio which is a huge plus 1 during these crazy covid times. For food, we got focaccia, caesor salad, tajarin and their pasta of the day. Everything was really good! The focaccia was so soft and flavorful, I highly recommend getting this as a starter to your meal. The caesor salad was unique as they serve bitter greens instead of lettuce and it is a nice compliment to the anchovy dressing. In terms of the pasta, I can't decide which pasta dish I liked better. Both dishes had the pasta cooked to perfection (al dente). I love that something as simple the tajarin pasta dish (bits of sausage, cheese, butter, and sage) can be so delicious. yum! Service was great as well. Our server was pretty attentive. I would definitely return! read more

I can't help but think this place shows racism towards asian customers. Me and my friend went there for dinner, at the time there were 2 empty tables for 2. When the host showed me to a table closer to the door, we asked if we could sit at the other one not to close to the door given it's cold, he said that the other table for 2 is reserved. We asked since you have one more table for 2, could you give that table for the people that's alrighty showing up late to their reservation? He followed up with worst answer possible: ' i don't think the table is big enough to fit the 2 of them'. Does that mean he think it's ok to fit me and my friend (two asian girls) to that table then? Sorry, regardless how great the food is, that's a super negative host experience. read more

New spot that took over Bar Ciudad in Georgetown. We sat on their lovely patio, which was socially distanced and their menus were accessible through a QR code. We got the burrata and focaccia to share - both delicious, although the focaccia a little more well done then we would of liked. The burrata was fantastic with the pistachios and arugula. For the pasta, I got the Tripoline with the Ragu of Veal, Pork and beef. The pasta was perfectly al dente, and the ragu was so flavorful. I only wish there was more sauce on it - enough to fully coat. My husband and friend got the cacio e pepe with rigatoni. Very decadent and satisfying to eat. I prefer a pasta like spaghetti, but appreciated the nicely cooked rigatoni. The highlight of the night was their Panna Cotta!! a very subtle bay leaf and vanilla flavor, with a great pairing of candies hazelnuts and poached figs. It was a textural party in my mouth! Service was prompt and on point!! We got a half liter of red house vino to share. Overall would definitely recommend this new spot! You won't be disappointed! read more

Went with a group and shared everything. Focaccia- as good as you will find anywhere Burrata- delicious. Really liked the treatment of the beats. Very good quality cheese as well Tuna - flavorless Tried all their pastas. Only one was finished which should tell you something. Tajarin- apparently got the last one. I can see why it sells out. Really good and the plate was cleaned. Reginette - this was pretty middle of the road. Good but not memorable Lumache- this was just odd. Definitely interesting but would never order again Gigli - The crab just wasn't fresh. It was inedible Rigatoni- way too salty (we all like salt but this was extreme) Wanted to try the beef short ribs but they were out of that Service was a mixed bag. The waiter was clueless. Had no specific point of view and didn't seem to know much about wine and didn't think to bring anyone over to help. Actually forgot to bring us the wine. Another server came over and seemed to know what she was doing. Made a solid wine recommendation and brought it to us. Very friendly and wished she stayed with us all evening. Waiter eventually came back and plopped down a check. Didn't ask if we wanted anything else, didn't wonder why we didn't eat the pasta, didn't offer us a box to take it to go (not that we would have). read more

The outdoor seating is such a vibe. Definitely something to be taken advantage of to salvage the rest of the summer days. It creates the perfect ambiance for a romantic dinner under the lights. The Tripoline is my favorite so far. Such perfect pasta texture and thickness to hold the gamey flavor of the ragu. Not sure I was equally as impressed with the Pasta Del Giorno. The green beans do add a bit of freshness but really throw me off from the dish otherwise. I love Pesto but didn't love this pesto flavor. $15 seem a bit steep for these portion sizes, however I do think there is relatively quality pasta to be offered here and that will always be worth the money. Definitely looking forward to coming back for the chance to be blown away. read more

My oldest son highly recommended trying this new place. We went last night and had an amazing dinner! Even though it was quite smoky out, that didn't stop us. The weather was warm and we ate outdoors. The service was amazing and the food was outstanding. I am a BIG bread person. The Foccia was the best I've ever had. I had the House made sausage pasta w/ butter and parm. My Bf had the pesto pasta with fresh green beans. Our dessert was so delicious. This restaurant opened during the covid 19 pandemic. During this time so many restaurants were closed and offered pick up. We have been doing our best to consistently support our local businesses. This place will be added to our restaurant rotation list. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
