No complaints about the food. The carne asada and enchiladas were tasty, as were the appetizers. The problem was the bill. We ordered Carne Asada $18, Enchiladas, $13, Appetizer, $5,= $36, plus a margarita and a beer (didn't check the price). Figured it would be around $40.00 The bill was $63.00. I don't argue at restaurants so I paid it and left. I've had a lot of Mexican food, and this was slightly above average, but I can't believe a beer, and margarita would make the price go up by $27.00. I'll accept the responsibility of being a stupid tourist and paying it. Watch your bill carefully there. read more

It's Sunday and raining at 12pm and Mi Casa still opened there kitchen up for us even though no one else is around or in the restaurant and served us really good drinks and food. Very hospitable and friendly and they hands down have the best carne asada my girlfriend and I have ever had!! Highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Cabo! Reasonable price. Nice ambiance, almost a museum or sorts. My baby was crying (because of the clown making balloon animals) so we walked around and looked at the paintings, carved manicans, and other stuff. It was interesting. I got the mole and it was REALLY good. Hand made tortillas are my jam. My wife got the enchiladas Rojas. And she picked them. She loves cheesey dishes unconditionally but this one was exceptionally good. And to top it off, they accidentally gave us an extra dos Equis beer. Love it read more

I shared with my boyfriend and we had so much leftover. But we also had 3 appetizers and dessert so without those it still would have been a lot. Just look at the photograph. This place is literally a hidden gem! You sort of walk through this dimly light store and into an outdoor dining area (which also had covered seating). The waiter was friendly and quick! We ordered from the lunch menu which is written in both English and Spanish. I got the shrimp in tequila sauce and vegetables with rice. I loved the rice. The vegetables consisted of carrots and zucchini. I'm not into zucchini but everything else was good. My date ordered the beef fajitas and a coke. The fajitas came with loads of peppers and onions, homemade corn tortillas, beans, guacamole and rice. The food was tasty with great flavor. You can't come to Cabo without visiting. We hit Mi Casa a few nights ago and find mixed reviews. Two people had the Sea Bass, one had chili Rellenos. One of the Sea Baas was good but the other one was on the fishy side. The Rellenos were a little uncooked but the beans and rice Delicious. We ordered a side of Guacamole but instead of chips they brought corn tortillas. When we asked for chips they looked at us like we were from Mars (or was that Merica), lol. The Guac was good and we ended us eating it with crackers. The Margaritas were average and I'd recommend staying with bottled beer or wine. Overall rating, a 6 out of 10. read more

This place was my favorite restaurant that I went to during my stay in Cabo! The place was big and was pretty on the inside. They had a woman making fresh corn tortillas that were to die for. The margaritas that we had were very good and a good size. We all enjoyed our food especially my Pescado Zarandeado and my fathers manchamanteles. This place was the most authentic place in all of Cabo. I know that sounds weird but it's a very tourist place and coming from a Mexican family I know what Mexican food should taste like and the food in Cabo wasn't that great. What drew me to this place was the photos of the tamales. The tamales tasted fantastic, and it's nice to try different types. The drinks were good as well. The service was excellent. They have someone making fresh tortillas onsite, you won't get tortilla chips but fresh tortillas and sauces to put inside the tortillas. The prices are comparable to prices in the States but it was certainly worth it. read more

Had a great dinner. Very generous portions (including the margaritas!) and a great open air vibe. Service was just OK, we got what we needed but they weren't overly attentive (why I didn't go 5*). This place is definitely authentic Mexican food with authentic Mexican decorations. I don't think there going for a circus theme but that is kind of what they have going on there, between the balloon lady walking around and band trying to play music for you it is a bit of a zoo in there. But a fun zoo all the same! The hostess was a bit rough when we walked in and it took a while for a server to come and talk to us. Once they took out order everything was great, good came or super fast and super hot. Only down side is they don't serve chips before dinner. Not a big deal but would have been nice. read more

Recommended by our driver. I'll preface by saying I got food poisoning from the carnitas tacos. I am almost better after 30 hours. Wife and kids all ate and didn't get sick and I was the only one who at the carnitas. It is a cool location and the salsa and guacamole were excellent. Just a bad day for me. read more

We enjoyed a very nice dinner at Mi Casa. Mostly traditional Mexican fare but done really well with top notch service and some organic offerings. Enjoyed chile rellanos and a flank steak/enchilada combo, some queso and of course margs. The margs were very good and not the watered down mix you find around Cabo in various places. The restarant is huge and is nicely decorated with local art and trinkets. It is a bit off the Marina but certainly walkable. Will definitely be returning. read more

Completely stunned by the positive reviews for this place... we were completely disappointed by our dinner here. It is the biggest tourist trap where every service staff expect a tip... bathroom door opener, tortilla making lady (none of our meals had tortillas but she gave us a dirty look for not tipping her as we passed by to leave), the balloon animal clown. Must note, as we were looking over our menus, the clown came by and started making balloon animals for the kids (4 adults and 4 kids in our party)... then he made us adults balloon hats which we did not ask for. My husband gave him a $3 tip. He then went to the other husband and demanded more money!! That should have been our cue to get up to leave since we didn't order yet. So, once the fortune telling bird people and the mariachis came by, we waved them away. Our meals at Mi Casa were very disappointing... probably because this was our last dinner of the week in Cabo. We had done a lot of research and ate at the most amazing local taco places all throughout town up until this dinner so we were quite bummed that we ended our trip at this trap. read more

This place is a scam! The second we walked in, I could tell it was a tourist trap. We went here based on a recommendation from our hotel. First of all, you enter and exit thru the gift shops. Secondly, the host asks for the name of your hotel (probably because the hotel gets a kickback whenever they send tourists here). Overall, the food was okay but not worth the high price. I've definitely had better Mexican food for a much lower price in Los Angeles. Plus, the margaritas were terrible - they tasted like water with a hint of tequila. Then when the check came, I paid with a credit card and the waiter asked me to pay the tip in cash. So I did. When I checked my bank statement, they added in their own tip to the credit charge even though I crossed that part out! They probably forged my signature or something. If you want to be scammed and double charged, this place is for you! read more

The food was not very good at all. We split about 4 entrees and a couple appetizers between 8 of us. We each had a margarita and we ended up paying about $50 a person total. If the food was great it might be OK, but the food all tasted the same and the seafood wasn't the best quality. It's a fun restaurant - you're paying for the atmosphere but I wouldn't recommend eating here. The trinkets they sell are actually very comparable to the crafts market downtown. I thought it would be cheaper in the crafts markets but ended up going back to the gift shop on the last day of our trip because they had a larger selection and the prices were about the same. While you eat, people will constantly come up and perform or ask to draw your picture. It became clear very soon that it's all for tips. I would politely decline unless you want to spend more money every 15 minutes. read more

What an awesome not-so-little hole in the wall. It's a bit unassuming on the outside, but once you're in you become enchanted with the many rooms and visuals throughout this complex restaurant. And then there is the food... amazing. We had the chili en nogada and shared it as an appetizer, and now that I'm back in the US, I have dreams about it. I'll have to go back. Super cute, deceptively large restaurant with multiple dining rooms that seem to just keep going on, one after another. Each one has a great design and kind of neat that with a group of people, it feels like your own room. We were here for an pre-wedding get together outside in there patio area. Mi Casa was recommended by a friend but we went away very dissatisfied with the experience. I'll spare the finer details but the main themes are outlined below: Exorbitant Prices: Be prepared to spend $50 / person, including ~1.5 drinks and gratuity. "Exorbitant" is a strong word but it is justified due to the level of service and quality of food. (By comparison, we paid 20% less down the road at Los Tres Gallos and enjoyed a fabulous meal with top-tier service.) Lousy services: We had a rude waiter unfortunately. This could be bad luck, but the more annoying part about the service were the sales gimmicks. Before ordering our meal we were shaken down by 2 mariachi bands and a photographer. This lead to an awkward moment when nobody at the table had small change and the singer insisted that we paid him immediately. Underwhelming food / drinks: The food was fine, but far from memorable. Lowlights include Cerviche that was served with pre-packaged crackers. The $15 margarita came out so weak that we had to order the next round with the tequilla served separately. The salsas / chilis were bland. Cool decor / setting: The place is essentially a hidden courtyard tucked into downtown Cabo. There are multiple rooms and open air seating with lots of festive Mexican decor. This was the saving grace for the Mi Casa, and the only reason it does not get a 1 star. read more
