A gentleman named Adrian who was cleaning tables noticed that we had been sitting a while. He not only apologized for the long wait but stated that he would notify our server, then asked if we wanted something to drink and refilled our chips and dip. Mi Cocina is a wonderful with Tex-mex style food. It's fantastic for lunch or dinner (I've done both). The drinks are wonderful and recommend trying. The ceviche was fresh and delicious. This restaurant took very long to serve our food. When we finally received it was cold. We ordered the beef fajitas medium. They were well done. My son asked for sour cream, our waitress never brought it...but charged us for it. No refills offered, and the service was poor. This place is too congested and overfilled. I was in a wheelchair and couldn't get out of the restaurant when we were done because of the crowed seating area. . We had to use the emergency exit. This place is a fire hazard. A friend chose this place and we met up while I was in the area. If you're looking for amazing food, at amazing prices, AND a chic and professional atmosphere.... Oh, have you chosen the right place. Service was at a level that I don't see in places for twice the price. One of our table mates got the steak fajitas, and it was a huge plate, with everything just amazing. I got a sample of the steak and it was mid-rare and vibrant in flavor. Another at the table provided me one of his tacos that was one of the best flavor profiles I'd ever had in Mexican food. The one concern that I ran across was my two burritos were not at all what I expected.... Like soft unfried flautas.... Small, but at the same time, quite tasty. No need to get all dressed up and fancy this casual sit down art gallery vibe was a perfect Friday date night. I got the Pablano chicken enchiladas. It comes with two enchiladas with pablano cream sauce paired with rice and beans. The enchiladas was a bit on the heavier side for my taste but hey you'll find me at the gym shortly after! Enjoyed the atmosphere, but service was a little slow. Took over 20 minutes for our server to show up. Not sure why dog in a carrier was allowed inside the restaurant. It wasn't a service animal but the dog was eating snacks at the table next to us. Owners feeding the dog at the table and also feeding themselves with the same hands. Not so appetizing. We had never intended to eat at Mi Cocina... but I'm glad that we did! It was our first time eating here, and my friend and I couldn't wait to get out of the cold. Despite the restaurant being busy, our host sat us immediately, answering any question we had, giving us chips and salsa as we were seated. We were greeted quickly by our waiter Sean, who did more than treat us as valued guests, but also, just as human beings; taking the time to talk to us and make recommendations on salsa and salad dressings. The ambiance is typical of a more upscale restaurant. Nothing excessively extravagant, but certainly impressive, and more importantly (to me); clean! I know Mi Cocina was a popular location for high school homecoming meals and such, so I had expected the prices to reflect that of someplace gourmet, but actually, everything was reasonable for the quantity and the quality. Man, the quality! The chicken Taco Salad is entirely wholesome, with beautiful presentations. With Sean's recommendation, I was able to try two different dressings - both of which were fantastic, by the way. My friend got a kid's meal (he's small), but even that in itself was a full meal and crafted with the same care. Sean also brought us refills without our request, so he was certainly attentive towards our needs and even sent us home with chips and salsa! Thank you, Sean and BOH! Let me start with, I honestly believe this review is based on one experience and PROBABLY doesn't represent the normal visit... I hope. We went on a Saturday afternoon. Our server, Liz, was great and friendly. The food was great. But shortly after we arrived, the manager started setting up a large table for over 20. Whoever this was for was more important than everyone who was currently enjoying their meals. The manager had someone vacuum around our table while we were eating. Stood over our table for the entirety of our eating while they calculated the position of chairs. If this wasn't crazy enough. They then put a children's party, with kids covered in paint and hyped up on sugar, at the table on the other side of us. The kids ran circles around our table, keep in mind with the manager standing right on top of us, without saying anything to the table. If this is normal for weekends here, I would stay away. Shame because the atmosphere doesn't give off 'McDonalds Playplace' at all. We wanted to have a second round of margaritas but decided to go get a second drink at another establishment out at the Star. Hopefully if we return it will be much better. read more

It's been 5 to 6 years since I've been to MI Cocina. First time to this location. Nice place. My favorite dish was the chicken mole enchiladas. No longer on the menu. I'm not a fan of the rest of the menu. Everything seems to have veggies in it or on it. So I went with the chicken and beef fajitas with corn tortillas. The tortillas were steamed or microwaved. Tortillas should be cooked on a flat top of some sort. Tortillas shouldn't be soggy or crack and fall apart. They got to have a bit of a crisp if cooked correctly. Didn't taste any seasoning on the meats. Chicken was OK. The steak was bland. Both meats on a bed of veggies. Rice and beans were rice and beans. Miss the old Mi Cocina. The service was good. Food was out within 15 min. Not busy. This review is per my preferences and per my tastebuds. I grew up in the 80s with my moms homestyle mexican cooking and in L.A. where Mexican food is greatness. Visited this place on a Thursday evening for my sisters birthday. The ambiance of the place was good - the place was full for a weekday. After a 10-15 minute wait we got the table. I got the ranch water for a drink and everyone else got margaritas - the drinks were pretty good. This location is so fun and uptown style. You're right there where the Cowboys practice and if you can get a seat by the window you can watch all the nice cars go by (mine included). The staff here is always so nice and reapectful. My husband and I are obsessed with their chicken Rico Salad with the chili garlic sauce. Whether you eat it there or to go it's amazing every single time. Sunset fajitas are also amazing just get extra sunset sauce. And of course, if you're of age, the Mambo Taxi is a must try. It's delicious, it's strong and if you don't have to wake up early the next morning AND if you have a designated driver, get you a couple. Used to always go to the downtown Fort Worth location but this location tops the charts in my opinion. One note: if you have a kid, their kids cheese quesadillas are barely enough for an infant lol. I'm a long time devoted Mi Cocina customer. This was my first time at this location.  It's close to home, and I'm a die hard Cowboys fan, so it's the perfect location for me!  We went for a late, light, lunch.  Considering its the holidays, I expect people to be on vacation, so there was a fair amount of people.   It's one of the largest I've been to.  I love the layout,, there's section on both Winning & The Star.  The bar had a cool inviting vibe, maybe next time. The hostess immediately showed us to a table facing The Star Blvd.  The restaurant was decorated for Christmas, it was really pretty inside.  I've been away from Dallas for a few years, this was my first time back!  Chips, salsa, and Guacamole arrived quickly after our drinks.  I ordered my usual beef nachos El carbon, with green rice.  My son got bacon wrapped shrimp.  They were both as delicious as I remember.  The gulf shrimp were incredible.  The green rice tasted just as I remembered.  Our waiter Octavio was one of the most attentive, I've ever had the pleasure of being served by.  He was friendly, suggestive, quick, efficient, and charming.  He treated us like guests, and I would love to dine in his section next time I'm back.  He made our return dining experience a memorable one! read more

So this location is right at the star which explains all the buzz about it. It's very pretty as well! I went with a friend- also a fellow Yelp elite! I looked at the drink menu and it doesn't have prices. I ask the waiter how much is a glass of Pinot noir? He says I believe around 9$. Well I had 2 glasses lol! I ordered the brisket quesadilla. I was not impressed at all because the brisket was too dry. I had to add too much sour cream and guacamole to eat it. The service was decent. The ambience is nice. He brings us our checks and the wine was almost 13$!! First of all that wine was not worth that at all. I could tell it was more of a cheap wine over priced because of the restaurant. And if I knew it was that price I would've ordered only one glass! Oh well I didn't say anything and just paid my check. I don't think I will be back here.
