We recently moved to the area, and could not have been more disappointed. The complementary chips were definitely not homemade (or a brand resembling "homemade"), but more like ones you would buy in bulk at Costco. Salsa was tomato sauce. We ordered guacamole, which is served table side, and was shockingly flavorless. The added bonus was that the table side cart arrived with an enormous "TIPS" jar, staring us in the face. At $7.95 for 6oz of guacamole, we felt the suggestion of tips was insane. I ordered a skirt steak dish, and my husband attempted to order chicken chimichangas, which was met with a "Chimichangas? Have you ever been here before? I recommend the steak". My husband agreed, thinking he would get steak chimichangas. 45 minutes later, when our food finally arrived - the waiter had taken the liberty of ordering my husband...a steak. Our food was lukewarm and mediocre. When the bill came, we had been charged for a pitcher of margaritas, when we had one margarita each. We passed Mi Hacienda on the way to my daughter's softball game. From the time we entered to the time we left the restaurant we were personally served by the owner, Enrique. He made wonderful suggestions for my wife, my 2 children, and me. We ended up ordering what he suggested, and it was great! He gave us free soup, free tequila shots, and free rice water. The place was hot, no air conditioning to speak of. The waitress was rude and it had taken her about 10 min to get to us even though the rest only had 3 other customers. Stale chips, highly salted salsa, and our meal was warmed up in a microwave. That I was sure of because it was hot on one side and cold on the other. The meat tasted at least a day old. When I came home I got very sick. No sleep all night and at least 3 trips to the restroom at work. I've ate here many times in the past and always thought of it as an okay place. Food is OK but the staff is not very friendly. I asked for additional spice and used it all up. When I asked for more the owner told the waitress that one was enough and that I should only use what was in the little cup, I used to bring a lot of friends and family to this restaurant but not any more. I liked to frequent this place three to four times a month with friends and family. They lost a lot of good customers because of a little extra spice.My last visit was over a year ago and I'm not ever going back! read more

We have been a patron of this business for years. We always enjoy the food,my wife usually gets the chicken tostadas and I get the carne asada with the cheese enchilada with it which is excellent. The margaritas are also very good! The only gripe I have with the place is that the service is sometimes lacking. There was one time that it was so bad that we didn't return for a while but eventually just couldn't resist going back for that steak that I love! read more

People, stop going to mexican places and ordering tacos and nachos. If you want to experience good authentic mexican food, than order authentic mexican dishes, not enchiladas or burritos. You all complain about the food being boring, well what do you expect? Look at what you're ordering. First time there the cook came to our table, asked what we were ordering and I asked for recommendations. He said the fajita for two. Who can argue with the chef? To this day, it is my wife and I's favorite mexican meal. The chorizo, pork and shrimp that come with this dish are to die for. The chef uses many authentic seasonings and ingredients, making it so flavorful it will have you coming back time and time again. Americans, stop ordering crap and complaining about it. This place stinks!! The food was very, very bad! Dry rice, rancid tasting tortillas and chips, gristly pork in the tacos al pastor. The owner is also an arrogant jerk. I was told NOT to take excessive amounts of hot sauce from the buffet by his waitress. He did not even have the courage to tell me himself. I like a lot of hot sauce on my food, and, for pete's sake, this is a buffet! I'm not wasting anything, it's all getting consumed. My family and I love Mi Hacienda. It is truely a family business. Engage the wait staff with smiles and they will return the courtesy. We have been going there for several years and have yet to be disappointed. My husband is picky about the extras and they always come through. While I agree with Matt B. regarding Senor Tequila's excellent margaritas, their food was tolerable. Mi Hacienda has good food, excellent pre-diiner soup, strong and yummy margaritas, and a wait staff that are there to please (they have a vested interest). This is my first visit to Mi Hacienda and it will be my last. It came highly recommended. First the atmosphere was pleasant when we got there. We were greeted by the hostess and seated in a booth by the bar area. And our server Enrique (Ricky) who later we found out was the owner. He was very pleasant. He asked for our drink order and we decided on Margaritas. He asked if we wanted a regular size or the medium. We opted for the medium. He brought over chips and salsa. The chips seemed a little stale, not freshly made. I think they came out of a bag. The salsa tasted like Pace. It lacked the punch that you would expect from an authentic Mexican restaurant. We both ordered Enchiladas, and I also ordered a side of chili rellano. We were given a small bowl of soup (on the house). It tasted old, the vegetables were really soft and mushy. Our food arrived very quickly. Almost to quickly. The enchiladas were very bland. There was no spice, no heat. And the chili rellano was very flat and bland as well. I was very disappointed. Also there was no salt or chili sauce on the table. When the check came I noticed that there was almost a $25.90 charge for 2 Margaritas. I asked the staff for a menu. And asked to see the Manager. I looked at the drink section. I didn't see a medium margarita or a price for one on the menu. Enrique (Ricky) now the owner explained that it was on the new menu that he was developing. Finally he charged us for the regular margaritas. I paid with my check card. When I got home I checked my account and noticed that the charge for Mi Hacienda was more than what the check came to even with the 18% tip that I included (much more than I should have tipped). I called Mi Hacienda and Ricky told me that his system automatically adds a 20% gratuity to every check. I would not recommend this establishment to anyone. Find another AUTHENTIC MEXICAN RESTAURANT!!!! The food is bland and tasted like it was previously frozen. The menu is deceiving and not very accurate. Also I should be able to determine the amount of gratuity given. read more

DO NOT GO THERE!!!!!!!!!!!!! They are shady! The food was very typical- nothing too exciting and good enough to eat. The portions are normal and the service was average. Though, it is a shady establishment! My friend ordered a drink from the bar before we got there. He paid $14 for a margarita that did not exist on the menu nor did our server tell us about. The bartender gave change out of his pocket not the register. We paid in cash and credit. The bill was $107- we gave $60 in cash and $70 in credit- over 20% tip. The next day I noticed on my bank the server ran $84 not $70, The manager and server blamed the bank and they stated they do not know why it automatically added the 20% tip when i reminded them the server got a very nice tip. The manager first blamed my bank and then when I told her i already talked to my bank she blamed her bank. It is not the bank, it is them, trying to get away with something. I would not go there- not worth the hassle and the food is average. They are sneaky and shady. read more

We went to La Hacienda with no real expectations that this would be the best Mexican restaurant we ever ate at, but this place was the worse experience I can remember, They were understaffed which we had no problem with, we arrived at approximately 7 pm. Our server suggested a 24 oz tbone steak that was the special that day, I ordered that and my wife ordered the enchiladas. Our wait after ordering was over an hour, that was fine. The nightmare began when they brought out the steak ordered med rare. My 24 oz was more like 10 oz well done and basically gristle. I commented to our server who brought out the owner, he brought out a scale and an uncooked steak,, he placed it on the scale and said see 20- 0z steak, The scale read 14 oz . I told him 14 oz is not 24 oz as advertised, pathetic!!! I feel sorry for our server who I did tip 20% but this is the worse Mexican Restaurant I have ever been to and apparently their problem starts with the owner. read more
