First off all the food we got was great. I believe there was a little too much cheese on the oysters for my taste. But when I scraped some of it off the taste was good. The shrimp Alfredo was great. The shrimp were cooked just right and the sauce was really good. The fish was great. Cooked correctly and it was great with tortillas. The ceviche on the table made mor a great little appetizer. The service however wasn't great. We had to track down our waitress for the bill and she didn't come to check on us at all. We went during lunch so there weren't many people in the restaurant for her to claim she was too busy. If it wasn't for the bad service I would have definitely given more stars to the restaurant. Like I said the good quality was very good. The portions were a great size. I wouldn't mind giving the place another shot the service being bad didn't ruin it completely for me.

El servicio se meresio 4.5 estrellas pero la presentasion de este platillo 2.5. El molcajete esta muy vacio , en otros lugares te dan 3 cebollitas on 2 chiles porlomenos asi se llena mas . Necesitan mejorar

I am completely unfamiliar with the Detroit food scene, but recently some friends were visiting and after they did a random google search, we landed on Mi Lindo Sans Blas. The waitstaff, atmosphere, live music, and food all provided a memorable experience, and THANKFULLY I am into seafood because that's pretty much all they serve. And... it's really good! The drinks are huge, the live music is hilariously wonderful and everyone seems to be there to have a good time. There were seemingly countless couples and families out for date night, and smiles were to be had everywhere. I'm not sure I would love the restaurant when packed and rowdy, but we lucked out perfectly on a weeknight with a small crowd and super attentive service.

I ordered a platter to share to go, the Molcajete de Mariscos. So disappointed, only 2 prawns, about 4 smaller shrimp, 1 crab leg, and pieces of other seafood cut small. Paid $34 dollars and they kept my change without asking. I won't be back, as I think they didn't want my business anyway. Lesson learned. BTW I'm the lady who paid with $2 bills.

My niece found this restaurant online. We never heard of a Mexican restaurant that specialized in seafood. It was the unusual for us to be served ceviche and chips instead of chips and salsa. The chips were served hot and the ceviche was good. We ordered a variety of alcoholic beverages. I ordered the vampiro and sent it back because it didn't taste as described. I sent it back and asked for a sangria to only receive the same drink in another glass with cut up fruit. Our waitress was attentive and kept up with the requests from our party of 12. There was a Spanish singer entertaining us as we ate. The restaurant was pretty full and everyone appeared to be enjoying themselves. The lights were dim but it wasn't too dark. There is limited parking in a lot but street parking is available. I will probably go again if someone who hasn't been wanted to go but I wouldn't return on my own. It was an experience.

A friend introduced me to this hole in the wall last night and I was not disappointed! The shrimp ceviche was really tasty and it's complimentary! I thought the guacamole and the shrimp fajitas were really good and my friend enjoyed his margarita and his seafood based caldo (soup). I'd say the service is ok and they don't speak much English, but that's not a problem for me.

Terrific SW Detroit seafood restaurant! I thoroughly enjoyed the oysters on half shell topped with shrimp/octopus with plenty of limes on side, seafood soup and a paella. It all reminded so much of dining experiences I've enjoyed in coastal Mexico. Festive interior. I was very surprised once inside the door. There is no curb appeal and then you walk in ...... Wow. Big lunch in a quiet room. I'll be back for more.

10/10. Might be the best place I've eaten at in a long time. Definitely the best Mexican place around if you like seafood. I hardly ever write reviews but they deserve it here. The drinks were huge and amazing and the seafood platter was fresh, spicy, and delicious. The staff was quick and friendly and there was even live music!

The reason I gave it three stars is that there is unnecessary loud noise. Live music is loud, but still okay. But there is something they played that is really loud and bothering me. I don't know what's the name. Food is great. Really big portion, and satisfying. For seafood lovers, this is a place to get fresh seafood. Soup is great with diced tomatoes and cucumbers. But it needs to be more hot (temperature).

Paying for something you don't like! This is the right place for that. I ordered the Pina Rellena which was (super sweet) the menu does not mention anywhere that this plate it's sweet. Waitress comes after bringing out our food and asks "how's everything"? I told her I didn't like my food. So I ordered something else. After a few minutes she came back and told me that "the cooks said everything was fine with my entree I ordered" and I had to pay for it. She offered me a box. what would make you think that the same food I didn't like in your restaurant, later on at home I'm changing my mind?. Please let your cooks know that I didn't say that something was wrong with the food they cooked. I simply didn't like it. When I don't like something I simply don't come back. Service- was very slow.! How many table in the whole restaurant 3.

"Chapita" drink. Delicious with Modelo Negro, but they let you pick the beer!

I'll have to come back for the chicken. Also Botanas. They are on the menu, and while I may have some deep reservations about this unique Detroit-Mexicantown dish, I'm going to have to return to try those too. But let's get to the tacos. I love that they are on small, doubled, corn tortillas. I love that they are only $3 a pop (less during Taco Tuesday). I love that they have some very traditional fillings. I love that they come with radishes and plenty of limes. After reading through some of the reviews I was compelled to try the following fillings, which are below in ascending order of their deliciousness: - Carne Asada: It's fine, but I wouldn't get it again. - Cabeza: Tender and flavorful, but oddly dry for a typically rich filling. - Carnitas: Juicy, tender, and delicious! A winner. Among the best I've had in the region. - Al Pastor: Yes! Finally! So far, the only good version I've found of this classic here in the area. I'd say it's a must order. Oddly, what dragged these tacos down for me was the choice of the corn tortillas. They were a bit too stiff, and their flavor was so pronounced that the shells overwhelmed the fillings. Typically in this type of situation, one can simply remove one of the two tortillas and just eat them gingerly to avoid the potential failure of the taco's structural integrity. However, my tortillas somehow fused together which made the operation impossible. What does that mean? Well, in future visits I am going to be looking for other ways to make the carnitas and al pastor shine! Maybe it's in a quesadilla. Perhaps a torta? Or could it even be atop a plate of Botanas? The mind boggles. But I'm looking forward to the journey and giving El Rey that fifth star when I find it. Oh, one last thing. The horchata is tooth achingly sweet. Next time I'll try another aqua fresca in the hopes it might be better.

I came last night and it was really busy. I ordered a carnitas burrito, one of my favorites. The food took over 45 minutes to come after we ordered it. Our table ordered 5 tacos and a burrito.... 45 minutes is outrageous. Once it finally came, my burrito was about half the size of what it typically is (posted a photo of my last burrito from here for reference) Then, they cut the burrito and there were pieces of foil all in the burrito (pictured) really not okay. The worst part, there were three massive bones in my burrito!!!!! When I complained, they said that carnitas has bones in it... I've never had bones in my burrito. They asked if I wanted something else and I said I want the same burrito but without bones and they told me that if I got the same meat it would probably also have bones in it so they didn't remake it for me. If I bit down on it I could've broken my tooth or choked. Really really disappointed with my experience last night. I'll be back because this isn't "normal" for them, but I'm really disappointed. The manager ended up comping my burrito and explained to me that sometimes baby bones get through the meat when they're cooking it... you can see from the picture we're not talking about baby bones- these were three massive quarter size bones

I have been trying Mexican restaurants all over the U.S. and no where compares to vecino and to think I found my favorite in Detroit amazes me. It truly is worth every penny. For what to order: All their appetizers are great. We usually switch it up and are satisfied with each one that we've ordered. The Totopos with salsa are a must and their guac is great as well. For mains- the asada del día is our go to. It is always cooked to perfection and comes with fresh tortillas. And it is hard for me to come by a tortilla in the U.S. that I enjoy. But here, they are excellent. They import their corn from Mexico and you can tell. This is served with bone marrow and some garlic onion spread that goes great on the taco. For dessert- their tres leches is amazing. The coconut cream pairs so well with the cake. I could eat like 10 of them. As if it's not obvious at this point vecino is my favorite restaurant in Detroit and one of my tops in the world. And in the months since I've come here, it remains a super popular spot to go to if you're looking for that extremely lively atmosphere! None of this takes away from the quality of their delicious food! We had incredible dishes and they clearly take a lot of pride in sourcing intentionally all their ingredients for their food, and the waitstaff did their best to intro us to everything, despite how overstimulatingly loud the environment was, so I only came away from each presentation with about half the information they wanted to convey. But all in all, the food was good across the board, and we tried a ton of different dishes. There weren't any that were overwhelming showstoppers that made me want to come back here again and again to try the rest of the menu though, so I left Vecino knowing that I wasn't going to return anytime soon.
