What a place, the food was amazing beginning with the appetizers to the entree. If you're looking for a fun place to have a birthday party, or bachelorette party the outdoor seating or back bar wood be perfect. It's also a great place to go to for an outing with the kids. I would disregard some of the IDIOTIC "complaints" they have on here. I'm currently eating here with my husband and here are our observations: FIRST THING FIRST, It is clearly written up front that this place serves authentic NEW MEXICAN style food. (To the person who clearly couldn't read) And I'd say they come pretty close. The atmosphere is inviting, the patio area is very nice. Restrooms are well maintained and the color scheme is beautifully done. We were seated immediately, served immediately, and the food was fantastic. Especially given the price point. Also, to the person who gave this business a poor rating because you don't seem to have a life outside of your dog...you're a moron. Wait staff was great. Food was great. Food was wonderful! Our table had a variety of items, I had a chicken taco salad, others had, tacos, burrito, and a chimichanga(I think). Everything was good. BeverGes refilled quickly as they were emptied, chips and quest dip were yummy and not stale. Small place very quaint. Bathroom is a single stall so the wait for that after 3 drinks was no fun! They weren't ready for us! But they did a very good job anyway. :-) Weirdos, party of 20, please follow us to the back, where we can fit you (and hide you). Just kidding! The staff was very friendly and accommodating to a very large surprise crowd. They were swift at getting out a bunch of waters and whatever else we needed, including alcohol, apps, and entrees. I had the queso con chorizo, triple combo fajitas, and the flan. Can I just say that I appreciate six tortillas at once more than anything?! I mean, we all know fajitas need more than three tortillas, but EVERYWHERE ELSE acts like that's not true! This place gave us (my partner and I split it) six tortillas off the bat, and I was like, "FINALLY!" The flan was perfection! No frills, just perfect flan. Everything else was good as far as I'm aware. I seriously respect an establishment that can get things out so quickly for such a large group that didn't call ahead. Worst experience in customer service ever in 52 years of life at a restaurant. My wife was assaulted verbally and we were asked to leave after ordering the same dish we order every Tuesday at the restaurant. Always have a great experience there but this time the Server/Manager on duty was unaccommodating with a simple order of cheese enchiladas. Why? My wife complemented the server upon entry and her nails and then she was belittled for her order that we have ordered at this establishment countless times. Instead of being polite or accommodating with a simple order she told us we couldn't have cheese enchiladas casserole style and that's "I've worked her 7 years and you can't have it that way." My wife hadn't added the shrimp yet or completed her order before being interrupted and berated and we were ordering a dish that we've called in and eaten so many times before at this restaurant. I defended my wife by stating that I've ordered the same dish as well and that her attitude was out of line, and the waitress said, "Your going to have to leave." She kept going escalating a situation which was a simple order. Personal problems should never spill over into the workplace and that's the only explanation that makes sense in the way we were treated. read more

On my first visit they left off half of my order, made me wait additional 45 minutes while they remade it as well as recharging me for the whole order and having me wait 5 days for refund on the original order. On the second visit, taco Tuesday I ordered 12 $2 tacos and 2 chips and cheese. The two chips and cheese cost me $34 if I calculated correctly. They provide no details on charges - Watch Out!!!!!!! Still a little unsure of the hype of this place. My mom says her and men she dated before my step dad would drive from the south shore just to eat here. I've been here about four times now (I live on this side now) and don't believe I would ever drive 45 minutes just to eat here. Besides for my most recent visit, all of the other visits were a few years ago so I can't remember much about the service or what I ordered but just that they were mediocre. My most recent visit was this past weekend. It was a hot December day, and it was pretty warm inside the restaurant. Service started out super slow but picked up and the waiter ended up being super nice. The chips and salsa are yummy! Our chimichanga dinner that we split was pretty good. I loved the sauce that covered it (to have half queso and half red sauce is a little extra), the beans and the rice. The ground beef was okay. All together it was a good experience and more authentic than the chains down the street, but I'm not dying to go back either. read more

My mom ordered a burrito and they brought one completely drowned in sauce and cheese, it looked so horrible and unappetizing so I requested one without sauce. They brought one without but it only had chicken inside with no rice, beans or veggies. This is the first time in my life I have seen a burrito with only meat inside. Horrible! The service was great though! Food was bad! We went in for breakfast expecting so awesome Huevos Rancheros, but got the opposite. It was the most boring, brown looking plate ever! First off, maybe it was wrong for me to assume, but I always thought it was a given that Huevos Rancheros came with fried, over easy eggs. Nope, not here. They asked how we wanted our eggs. When we got our food, the refried beans were bland and pasty. The potatoes were also bland. I don't think I tasted one grain of salt or pepper. The green sauce was mediocre. Also, there wasn't one sprig of cilantro! How do you have a mexican breakfast with no cilantro!?! I took about 5 bites and refused to eat the rest. I felt like it was the biggest waste of money. Ended up going to the Donut King afterwards and splurged on glazed donuts instead. Maybe I'm just used to fresh, flavorful food, but this lacked everything. Our favorite local Mexican restaurant! Not sure what the other reviewers are looking for, but I find the food tasty and fresh (unlike the over-seasoned, smothered in cheese dishes typically called "Mexican food"). I've been to Mexico a few times - Mi Mamacita's is doing it right. Service is consistently good. My favorite dish - the grilled fish tacos - come in crunchy taco shells by default, and if the server doesn't ask I am notorious for forgetting to tell them I'd like soft flour tortillas. Servers cheerfully fix the error every time. The old-house charm is makes for a cozy family dinner spot, as well as a fun date night dinner. There are TVs in the main dining rooms, showing sports games with no sound. There is a bar (an add-on to the original old house) and I love that it has a separate entrance so it doesn't detract from the cozy family area. A HUGE deck with outdoor seating and stage for live entertainment accommodate bigger parties. Food and drinks are very reasonably priced, portions are generous, and there are daily happy hour specials. Nothing not to like. read more

They don't even let dogs on the outside patio. I always bring my dog to outside seating restaurants with me and I've never had a problem. Apparently our server was afraid of dogs, and one bit someone there one time? Ok well guess what there's plenty of dogs who don't go around biting people so let's not be irrational here. You shouldn't stereotype all dogs because of one experience. My dog is registered but I forgot to bring her papers so that was my fault. We wanted to love this place however... We went for a late lunch on a warm spring day and bring our dog with us to add to his socialization. There was a large patio what was empty. A member of the wait staff told us (rudely) that they were not dog friendly unless we had a certificate. After inquiring further he was referring to a service animal certificate. We eat out several times a week and really wanted to give this place a try. Well, it will be a while before I consider revisiting a place with such rude staff and restrictive rules. Love the look of the exterior. Was a bit set back by the interior. I like the cozy home feel but was VERY obvious it was an old house. Made you feel slightly like and intruder or the need to be very quite. Wish they maybe opened up a wall or 2. Salsa and queso is excellent. We find it hard to find good queso and this hit it on the head! Food was good. Not over the top but worth eating again. Outdoor seating wasn't available on a pretty day which was a bummer, hopefully we can go enjoy the outdoor seating soon. read more

Had this for lunch at work today. Steak fajita taco salad. Overall a really good taco salad. The lettuce was still crunchy, good amount of shredded cheese, chopped fresh tomatoes, little dollops of guacamole and sour cream. The steak strips were seasoned well but a little overcooked. I love the ranch dressing they have to put on it. It is a little spicy but goes really well with all the other ingredients. The shell was cooked nicely and and was still crispy by the time I actually got to eat it. I also had the chips and salsa. The salsa was pretty good, just a little heavy on the garlic and spice. But that may just be a personal preference. The only real issue I had was the saltiness of the chips and the inconsistency of their thickness. I could only eat a few of the chips due to the amount of salt on them. I am definitely going to get the salad again because it is pretty awesome. read more

My Husband and I ate here with Our Son. I ordered the Fajita Quesadilla, cause like it all. Not the first time we have had issues and we are not normally complainers and believe in giving a second chance to make things right. We ordered a Grilled Quesadilla for my son, because he will not eat all the trimmings that come with a normal dish. On the Menu it says Grilled Quesadilla has:melted monterey jack and cheddar cheese stuffed between two flour tortillas surrounded by pico de gallo, sour cream and guacamole. I ordered it without the Pico de gallo, sour cream or Guacamole, which left Just Monterey jack and cheddar cheese. My Husband ordered the same as my son, but when it arrived to our table, my sons had bell pepper, onions etc . My Husbands was loaded with grilled onions. Mine came as ordered. They did skip the Pico, sour cream and Guacomole, but the other stuff was not listed under Grilled Quesadilla. We told the waiter nicely and he did bring us plain Quesadillas, but charged us for ALL four Quesadillas" ..My Son and my Husband did not even take one bite of the Quesadillas that were made wrong and sent back. We nicely told the waiter again that we had been accidently charged for the items made wrong..... His Reply..... "You should have ordered it plain like the woman at the next table over"... We can not take items off the bill once ordered. No!...... You should say what is on your Grilled Quesadilla on your Menu!!..Then I will know what not to order on it! I just wanted a Grilled Quesadilla, made as stated on the Menu for my son. I even showed the waiter on the menu that what was made for us was not what we ordered.....They insisted that we pay for all four Quesadillas. We wanted desert, but after the experience opted to go somewhere else. We paid for the items and the still gave a tip, but never again. These people need Jesus and a lesson in customer service.
