We love this place! My family eats at Mi Mamacita's at least once a week. All of the food is good but I especially like their tamales. We enjoy sitting in the outdoor patio area, and the artsy decor inside. The staff are always friendly and attentive. read more

At best 3 stars. We saw the mixed reviews and wanted this to be a cool little place due to the proximity to home. At first, the kids menu looks like a great deal but comes with no sides and is served "a la carte". Once you order a drink, beans, rice with your kids taco (single) it's about 7 $ a plate for the kid. Adult menu wasn't too $ but nothing that sets them apart. They are getting the three stars due to the building, it's charming. The margaritas taste like they come from a premix and are 5$ a pop. The service wasn't good at all. This is probably the closest I will get short of ordering green chile from Hatch New Mexico and making it myself. The atmosphere was nice, they had a great patio area. I sat in the bar which was playing great music! All of the staff were really friendly and all smiles. The service was fast and I was surprised by how quickly I got my food. I got the New Mexican enchiladas, which were filling and served in a very traditional way. The green chile was, as expected, not as hot as you would find in NM. But it was tasty none the less and it scratched my itch for a taste of home! Definitely worth checking out. read more

My kids really enjoy this place however it's a hit or miss with good service. The food is always great when we get it; hot, fresh & tasty!! It's seems to be the younger waiters that either take forever to take your order or sometimes even acknowledge you're there & getting your order right is a challenge for them at times. The exterior was cute but all in all, the experience was disappointing. The service was lacking--ordered queso and the server forgot to bring chips so it sat on the table cooling off and developing a skin before we saw the waitress again (we were sitting outside). Mr. B asked about a special that was on a board by the hostess station and our waitress said, "Honestly, I don't know about that dish" and she didn't offer to find out. Very awkward. I went in there a couple nights ago by myself and was pretty ok with everything until I found out that they had put gratuity on my meal. I have never had ANY restaurant I have been to put gratuity on my bill when I was sitting alone. I am pretty sure they were hoping I was an idiot who couldn't add up my bill on my own so that I would tip them extra. Even if that wasn't the case, how cheesy. The management of this place is really lacking if all they do is hire rude 16 year olds to handle their guests. Get a life. One waitress was at least kind enough to come up to me and ask me if I needed anything when she thought that I was her table that nobody had told her about. I would definitely give her a better score if I could. These kids need to know the meaning of service. Not "give me money" -ice. read more

My wife and I were visiting some local friends and this place was highly suggested. Very cozy dining (remodeled house) and plenty of TV's. Waitress was excellent and very fast. Food was delicious and portioned very well. I had the shredded beef chimichanga, which was excellently prepared, while my wife enjoyed the taco salad and raved not only about the salad, but the shell! We will be coming back on our next visit! WARNING!!!! WARNING!!!! Around 645PM I called in an order to Mi Mamacita's. Needless to say I had to go back because the Nacho's were so cold that they could not be eaten. Little did I know the Nacho's would be the Least of my problems. When we got back to the house and sat down to eat my son brought me somthing that he had pulled out of his beans. To my Horror it was a piece of glass. At 730 PM I called to Mi Mamacita's and spoke to Bridgett about the glass. To my disgust I was talked to as if she did not believe that my Five Year Old had just pulled a piece of glass out of his beans. Due to what could have been a Horrifice Tragedy (if he had swallowed it) I am urging those who might frequent this place of business to Please Reconsider taking children there. You just don't know what is in the food! I would hate to see this happen to anyone else. read more

If you live on the Northshore, or find yourself over here taking a stroll or bike ride on the Trace and you need some straightup Mexican food and a good Margarita, Mi Mamacita's is the place. Be warned, there is often a wait in the evening. Tuesdays are 2 for 1 Margaritas. The chips are thin, crispy and warm and the salsa is very soupy, not too chunky, and slightly spicy- yummo! I love their cheese enchiladas (you get three, rolled in thin corn tortillas, not too stuffed, but more than enough) with green sauce (not too spicey, but with good green chili flavor). You can also get red sauce or "christmas", the red sauce is good, but I prefer green. The chili relleno is a pure- cheese filled poblano with a crispy coating. You can get just the enchiladas or chilis or get them as a "plate" with refried beans and rice, which are both straightforward and good. they have all the usual stuff, nothing too fancy, nothing "fusion", just good basic Tex-Mex. The place is cute, a converted house, but seating can be crowded. There is a separate bar outside and a nice area to wait if the weather is nice. read more

Came here for lunch off a recommendation from friends. Overall a very disappointing experience! We arrived and were greeted by a friendly and professional host. Once seated, our drink orders were taken after a few minutes. After that, we waited apprx 10 min before anyone came back. When they did, we ordered our food and reminded them about our drinks. After about 20min of waiting, we flagged down a different waiter about our drinks and overall wait time. After another 5 min our food came but still no drinks. With 3 kids who scarfed down the salsa, drinks were a priority at this point. Finally we got our drinks but with the amount of money, portion size, cold food, we were already ready to leave. This place is tiny with wat too many tables for the space. Food and atmosphere were below average, service was horrible, everything overpriced for what you get. Never coming back! read more

I don't like the parking lot and old house converted into a restaurant, but understand the need to re-purpose things. Again, the food is great, just double check your take out order. We ate here tonight and the food was really bad. We had 2 orders of fajitas that were both burned. We sent one back and the new one wasn't good but it wasn't burned. I couldn't believe they served the totally black onions and meat . The fajitas came out 5 minutes after the other 2 entrees at our table. The guacamole appetizer tasted very cheap and store bought. We thought we'd try this place rather than our regular place since they were having "free" kids meals. I put free in quotes because it's not a kids meal, but rather a taco. They were already without room for our party of five indoors, so we sat on the deck. It would've been nice, but the tables were dirty, boothes were dirty, and our table had a bunch of table stuff on it from other tables. Our waitress was the only decent thing at this place. She was good about refilling our chips and drinks. We ordered fajitas that were lightly cooked (not sautéed like our fav place). The "steak" was very poor quality and chewy. The shrimp was decent. The beans were runny and the rice was missing any flavor. When we got the bill, we found we were overcharged for our meal, so was the table beside us. We were informed this happens often. Needless to say, we will NOT be back. Based on the current yelp rating, we should've known we would be wasting our $. Go a 1/2mi down the street to Lago for REAL Mexican food. read more
