Mi Ranchit-NO. My mom loves this place. I on the other hand differ. The quesadilla was flavorless. The rice and beans both bottom average. The cheese enchiladas were edible but just not good. I also don't care too much for the menu. There was nothing enticing about it. The location isn't in the best of areas. On weekends the parking lot gets packed so you are forced to park down the street. My suggestion is stay on the right side of the road. My son is in the Air Force and he was deployed today to South Korea. I decided to get some family members together, 50 to be exact. I called and spoke with Alexandria to make the arrangements. This restaurant was beyond accommodating. The food was great, the service was great, they even went out the way to do separate checks for each family. The owner of the restaurant even comp my sons plate. The only complaint is the area/location. However, I have never had any problems with my car or going into or coming out of the restaurant. Mi Ranchito is an interesting blend of 50's style breakfast diner (with all the fixings: formica countertops, vinyl chairs, waitresses that look like a mexican version of "Alice" from Brady Bunch) and classic mexican brunch food. There is the ever-present aroma of their freshly made flour tortillas being roasted. These serve as the main starch for all their meals, though they do have home fries, rice and beans. Thee worst experience from a Mexican restaurant, my husband and I were not greeted had to sit ourselves down all along I'm saying to myself if one of these waitress ask me to move, I'm not moving because they should've came in a timely manner and they didn't so here I marinate right ! Asked for a coffee that came out luke warm, dealt with it but pissed off that my little cheap Mr.coffee machine at home serves hotter than that cup. My husband ask the waitress to come over to give my wife a new cup of coffee and it's still luke warm cost $4.99 for 2 cups that were not satisfying. Huevos Rancheros are swimming in a bowl bath of liquid juice that looks like a science food plate gone wrong. The Chorizo and eggs lord have mercy that meat people imagine a slim Jim beef jerky chewed up and spat on a plate mixed in with eggs horrible yet the tortillas was like dried cardboard that you have to swallow water every time you take a bite. Let's just say I'm done farewell Ranchito and I'm flying this coop don't eat here unless your car broke down in the lot and your waiting for a tow truck! read more

Mi Ranchito is the Mexican equivalent to a traditional American diner. Most of the folks that frequent here have been been coming for YEARS and are on first name basis with the staff. Coming here with my Dad is hilarious, as his beverages and food are ordered by him giving a subtle head nod, while I make it a point to scan the menu that never seems to change each and every time (although, that's not a bad thing either). The food is serviceable and I've never left here feeling displeased. The handmade flour tortillas are extremely unique (grainier texture than most places), and just shows how something simple like a tortilla can be made 1,000's of ways. I enjoy them, but some folks seem puzzled when picking one up for the first time. Food quantity can seem stingy if you compare it to most Mexican restaurants in the area, but the price is still very economical. One of the things I like best about this place is that you leave full, but never too stuffed to feel like you need a wheelchair to get out the door (helps tremendously with the guilt factor). This place gets PACKED on the weekend, so come early or during the week if you want to experience quicker service. Overall, I consider it a formidable local staple (like Folger's coffee is for some in the morning). read more

Stood around like idiots until a waiter told us to seat ourselves. It took forever for a waitress to bring us menus and get our drink order. They're way understaffed for that many tables. My bf wanted pancakes but they stop serving them by 10:30am even though they serve breakfast all day. He ordered a breakfast burrito and wanted ham and bacon but to add the bacon it was $3 more. Some fd pricing for a piece of bacon. He also asked for no beans and rice. I ordered huevos rancheros with the chicana. The chicana I guess is steak,bell peppers and onions. We placed our orders and noticed ppl had chips and salsa. The waitress finally brought ours. As soon as ppl sit at their table chips should follow even before their drink order. I wasn't missing out on much so I shouldn't complain. The chips were hard and store bought? The salsa lacked flavor and spice. Lousy. Finally got our food. My bfs burrito came with the beans he asked not to put. Of course he ate them cuz it took forever. It was an avg breakfast burrito. My huevos rancheros we're far from any I've ever had. They didn't put a fried tortilla below my eggs. So it was two fried eggs with some meat that lacked any flavor. Two pieces of bell pepper and one piece of onion. Super disappointing I could've made better breakfast at home. That's what I get. Anyways our total ended up being $27. I wouldn't have minded it being double that price if it was worth it. But seeing as you can get a $5 burrito from a gas station that tastes far better this place is whack! I should mention they make handmade tortillas but they're gross all thick and dry. The store bought would be way better and I'm a sucker for homemade tortillas. It's edible food but don't expect anything authentic, don't expect good service and don't expect satisfaction. They should have a sign saying beware of owner. He can't take criticism well, and has a very very bad temper. I was very close to calling the police because of our encounter with the owner this morning. We were actually trying to give him feedback of an issue we experienced and he wasn't having it, mind you we have been coming here for the past year. I appreciated the mom and pop's feeling and loved the customer service of some of their staff members, they are knowledgeable, friendly, and honest. This time around it was different, but we went with the flow for the sake of not ruining our day, however, no matter what we did or say it got confrontational. Currently as of 2012 this is my favorite chile colorado joint in the United States. Yes, Mi Ranchito...you win this award in my book! You won this award for the past three years!!! I remember eating something other than chile colorado and wasn't impressed...*sorry*. It was not memorable at all. I just stick with what I like best. CHILE COLORADO! It is a dive of a place. Mi ranchito is a hidden gem. My friend turned me on to this place because she said they have great tortillas. I personally do not like their tortillas the taste more like flatbread to me. I am a big fan of their chilequiles. They also have mixed plates that come with a little of everything and those are great. Their salsa and chips are fabulous. I think there are some things on the menu that are decent, however its not spectacular. I think the service leaves something to be desired. I went here for lunch once to get a to go item. The waiter told us it would be about a 5 minute wait. It was more like 15. We were late. The food wasnt that great either. It was cold and I didn't really eat my food I ordered at all. I don't like that you have to pay for refills or that there is a time frame where you can get chips and salsa. I've order from them before and the food was decent. Tonight I ordered three items, Fajitas de Cameron's and two number ones. The number ones came with sauce that leaked everywhere so they need to re-evaluate their packing methods but what killed our dinner were the shrimp fajitas. There were eight hard over cooked shrimp that had NO CLEANING DONE. Each shrimp still had the poop vein on them and they were so over cooked that you couldn't get them out. One of the shrimp was slightly over cooked and I was able to clean it. Really disappointing and when I called to complain, the girl said call back tomorrow when Alex the manager is there. I've been going here for forty years. The Machaca is great, especially with ranchero sauce on it and homemade tortillas. They have either Whole or refried beans, I prefer whole beans which go great with their rice. You can tell the restaurant is good by the large breakfast and lunch crowds 7 days a week, but don't let the crowds stop you from going, they have a back dinning room that they use daily and never have to wait. read more

I have never been here before today. Came around 930am and it was pretty full considering the circumstances we are in. Servers were hustling as there were only two of them so getting food/refills/etc took a bit longer than usual. I ordered the Breakfast Cheese Enchiladas with 2 sunny side up eggs. It came with rice, beans, salad and tortillas. The tortillas were fresh and really good. The salsa that they gave me tasted more like red chili sauce you would find in a Japanese or Chinese restaurant so that was a bit disappointing. The rice and beans were nothing special. The main part of the meal (corn tortillas, cheese, red sauce and eggs) however were ok but again nothing special. It took awhile to get served and my Diet Coke refilled but I completely understand how hard it is to run a small business with so many restrictions put on them right now. I went with my whole family and I was charged tips as a force obligation. Approximately $40 of forced tips which I feel like they have no right to charge extra. Even though, the employee didn't warn me and my family that we were going to be charged as a party size. No warning is unacceptable! Thankfully, Mi Ranchito is back to form. Their staff is always friendly and the food is consistently good again.
