Horrible customer service called to place an order in "Spanish" of menudo apparently the gentleman (the older man that's always in the front) answered couldn't understand me. Then he asked me if i know how to speak English i was like menudo is the same word in both languages. Then he said he couldn't sell too me and hung up. So then my mom called to place it and they took it when i went to pick it up he was in the front came up to me and said what i need i said im here to pick up an order under this name and he asked what did you order i said menudo, he asked were you the one i just talked on the phone with i said yes your where extremely rude sir he's said well im not selling to you so you can leave I kept calm through the whole situation then I asked to speak to the manager and apparently he said he was the manager I said if I can have the owners information because there is no way he can be treating customers like this especially if they have a language barrier and he answered that the owner was not going to do anything about it because he's been working there for years. I walked to the back to ask one of the ladies to give me the information he followed me and told them not to speak and the ladies seemed scared of him and said nothing i will say this place is the worst customer service I've ever had. read more

OK so I go here quite often with my father he always orders the same thing, Machaca covered with ranchero sauce along with the whole beans rather than refried. I always try new stuff and so far I think my favorite is the huevos rancheros with Chicana and also I like the whole beans, the chips are usually warm some of them are flour tortilla chips and the salsa is good I just add a touch of salt. but they do have a chili sauce that is not any good and I just don't use it but over all I think you get a good deal with good food for a good price . read more

So this is the first time here , The restaurant is clean but when we got our spoons and Forks one of the spoons was real dirty. So he got our drinks and asked if we were ready to order and I told him it was our first time if he could give us a couple mins so he said sure and took a while to come back and we ordered. We both ordered chicken enchiladas with a side of French fries. So now we got are food everything looks ok except the French Fries. There over cooked big time and oil all over them, my 3 year old son looked at them and said "what is that" lol so I sent the French fries back and he brought me a new batch and this time they were raw and my son wanted no part in that. The flour tortillas were not home made how you think , they were like those instant tortillas you just ad water. So the enchiladas and beans were good but everything else I will pass . I don't think we will be back to be honest my wife might but I will pass.. Service was not good at all I had to chase him down for everything . read more

My family has been coming to Mi Ranchito for more than 60 years now. The food is as authentic as going home to your mom's house but the service has always been horrible. Aside from one or two waiters that are able to do their job well, all the others are lacking. With as much business as this place gets year after year you would think they could hire/schedule more than 3 waiters to run the restaurant!! It would be a much more enjoyable experience if they could spend some of their tremendous profits on hiring enough employees. read more

Been coming here since mid 70's was pretty good then they always had the staples of home cooked mexican food beans rice and either a beef pork or chicken main course stopped coming for many years however today the menu is more alive everything I've had on the menu is great especially the breakfast menu I love the pickled jalapeños someone's doing those up at home somewhere because their hot and have a good crisp flavor not the soggy out of a can jalapeño experience. read more

Mi Ranchito has the best Huevos Rancheros I have had in Stockton. Sometimes the service is a little slow, but this place is always busy and the home-cooked food is worth it! The home-made tortillas are amazing and we always take them home with us after our meal. read more

I use to go to the Aztec restaurant downtown for years until it closed down. I struggled to find a good chili Colorado plate for awhile. This place has it! Also, the price for a dinner is at a very affordable $9. The food seems like it is almost made to order fresh. The tortillas are thick, fresh and soft with the exception of Sunday's because for some reason the regular guy who does them Is off on this say. The staff is very friendly and easy to Get to know on a first name basis. This is unusual for a Mexican restaurant where they hire their tia, prima (ala tio Pepe's) Or sancha and get a poor attitude as they don't seem happy to be there or you get a rotation of different relatives. . The chili Colorado beef steak meat is soft and juicy. The sauce is nice, thick and dark unlike some places where you taste a lot of tomato paste. My dad gets the Chicana and he raves about it and the portions are pretty generous and even more so considering the price. The area is rough but the specific location seems to not be so bad and parking is very convenient. They also have a big Hall for large parties and something for me to think about as I had excellent experiences here. The only other negative I have to say is only one free refill for sodas. My daughter and I went there this morning for breakfast. My daughter had the last of her Starbucks coffee in her hand and the owner stopped her and said " you can't bring that in here" so she said oh I'm sorry I didn't know, can you please discard it for me and the RUDE OWNER said no "take it out to your car", which she did and while I was waiting for him to clear the table I said gosh I have been coming in here for over 60 years and he replied I don't care how long you have been coming here. I said just clear the table and he said "don't tell me what to do". Everything went downhill from there. He told us to get out and I said don't tell me what to do. With that I walked over to the counter where there was one waiter(our favorite) and 2 other waitresses and said we are leaving because you have an asshole for a boss, and I said so that entire restaurant could hear. He has a reputation for being rude and obnoxious but I now have seen it first hand. read more

I had a carne asada burrito and I would say it was okay, nothing special. All I wanted was a simple burrito and all they had to offer was a "super" burrito. Typically super burritos have extra things in it, but this was simply beans, rice, and carne asada but it was HUGE! There's no way I could hold it! The horchata was excellent! read more

This is probably a biased review, because ive been coming to this restaurant since i was a kid. Albeit, the food is always delicious and consistant: especialy breakfast. The service can be slow, but if you go there enough youll be able to ditgush between the good and bad waitreses. The salsa and chips are the best in town. I was so hungry when I came here to eat and was really looking forward to the food. I love authentic Mexican food, but I was sorely disappointed. The service was decent and I can't complain. I ordered the flautas with rice and beans. They were the smallest flautas I have ever seen in my life. I'm a petite female who is thin and they were so small that I could have probably eaten ten of them. The chicken inside them had absolutely no seasoning. It was plain boiled chicken! Usually Stockton always comes through when it comes to food, but I was disappointed. My waiter was really nice but no chips and salsa, barely any flavor when the food came, also it's like a freakin ice box in the restaurant so I was hoping my food would warm me up but my food was luke warm. Can't see how this place has been around for so long. I think it's because of the blue collar working men that come in for breakfast before they head out to their job site. The place sounds like a cafeteria.... sooo "Noisy". The food is somewhat authentic, but not all that. I ordered a breakfast of Chili Verde over scrambled eggs. I got a good portion but how can you enjoy a meal if the food isn't hot, just warm.I didn't want to send it back cause you know what they say if you complain and send your meal back.(sabotage). The guy pouring the coffee had a very shi**y attitude. Poor guy must hate the world. This definitely is not worth any stars. I'm glad to take my business elsewhere. read more

Our family visited this place and we were not impressed at all. Won't fo into details.... just not very good at all.

I came here thinking this place would live up to their flashy sign but I ordered huevo rancheros and it was easily the worst I ever had. I understand that huevo rancheros usually comes with a thin red sauce but this thing was swimming in it, it was almost like eating soup. For whatever reason beans and rice comes on a separate plate and they don't put cheese on either the beans or the eggs. They have no hot salsa, the hottest thing they have is tapatio which I had to ask for (any place worth their salt has some El yucateco or at least keeps a bottle of hot sauce at the table). The tortillas are homemade but they aren't the same quality as the ones you get at say Suzy's (which isn't the best place in the world but much better than mi ranchito and they have yucateco on deck and hey free salad bar) You would probably think that this place has really good food by there big painted sign but the dish I ordered left much to be desired. I came in on a Sunday morning and the restaurant was packed!! Yazmin was our server and she greeted us right away. She was very friendly and she made sure to get our order in quickly. I have never left a bad review in my life but dear me, I also think that you can expect some sort of standard when you go out to eat. Unfortunately, the standard at this restaurant was very poor. Where do I start? For starters the waiter took for ever to take our order and still waited for an hour for our food to come out. Very disorganized. My husband and I ordered chilaquiles which when they got to our table it very much seemed they had been sitting there for a while!, the food was cold and the chilaquiles were all soggy and the cheese was not even melted not to mention the flour tortillas were cold. Very very DISAPPOINTING. Didn't even touch my plate, I was polite to the waiter and told her about the food and she didn't even offer to bring something else she just said any complaints see them with the manager, which i did but was the WORST IDEA! the customer service by the manager/owner my God he was RUDE, as soon as we went to pay upfront and mentioned what had happened to our food the owner flipped out on us and not even tried to apologize, i am 4 months pregnant the last thing i needed was for an angry man to yell at me and my husband for letting him know our food was not served properly; so i just told him to charge us so we could be gone. He began to yell even more and snapped away the receipt from me as i was filling it out (because yes i did end up paying for food I didn't even eat) and he still had the nerve to continue yelling and kick us out!, HORRIBLE SERVICE! I ordered a beef taco and the beef came out burnt and crystalized. The waiter also missed one thing on the order after repeating back the order. I also agree with the post from Me M on 1/19/09, she said the restaurant is not the cleanest place. I have to agree, besides the place being dirty, there were 6 people working with 5 customers, and we had to get someone to wipe the table we were sitting at. Been coming to this dive as long as I can remember. Cecilia's Juevos Ajogados is the best breakfast you will ever have. As long as you can handle spicey, cuz it will light you up. Ask for their red chili sauce to separate the men from the boys. You might need an extra napkin to wipe the sweat off your brow. For those that prefer less heat there are plenty of dishes that are very tasty. I don't want to scare you off. read more

Been coming to Mi Ranchito Cafe for over 40 years. I'm the kind of gal who craves huevos rancheros for breakfast instead of pancakes! Food is always flavorful and consistent. No one makes the ranchero sauce quite like Mi Ranchito. It is perfect every time. Their pork verde is off the hook also. I just wish they had a location closer to Lodi. read more
