My favorite thing about Mi Rancho is that the lunch menu is available 7 days a week. I generally get the chimichanga with beef fajita and it is very tasty and filling. The salsa is warm (as in temperature), not very spicy, and has big pieces of onion & tomato in it. That's actually a plus for me. They give good portions of simple but yummy food, so I love it. I usually go on Sunday afternoons, before the church crowd arrives. It gets busy, but I've never seen the service or speed suffer. Edit: The rice is not mushy any more. Since moving to Houston my wife and I have been trying to find a Mexican restaurant that is similar to the one we became regulars at in Ohio. Mi Rancho came very close to it. The quality, taste, amount of food for the price was better than expected. We definitely enjoyed the late night dining outside experience and are definitely going to return soon. read more

This place is great for a quick bite to eat; whether its to go or dine in. My brother would always eat here for lunch because they have a great lunch special so he brought some home for dinner. They give generous portions when ordering. I like the guacamole salsa and the regular was still nice and warm at the house. It has a nice kick to it which I like. The food is good. read more

Went here for lunch with madre, got a to go order. Quick service, took about 10 mins from calling to pick up. She got chicken quesadillas, I got the cheese enchilada dinner. Yo, the quesadillas (I tried em, she raved about em) were lit af- FINALLY, REAL chicken!!! Not that fake chicken "meat" that's meant to look "real," but still tastes like a ground up McDonald's chicken nugget. The enchiladas were awesome; cheese was a little burnt around the edges (NOT a diss- I love burnt cheese, and you can fight me if you don't). Rice was tasty, cheese puff was cute & good. Our favorite restaurant in the Spring area! My husband and I both love Mi Rancho and their staff! We go here at least once a week and eat on the covered patio. Many of the servers recognize us, and even notice if we haven't been in a while! Tacos del mar, tacos Mexicanos, el refu fajitas and the frozen margaritas are some of our favorites! Salsa is awesome! Word to the wise however- the margaritas are deceptively strong so I wouldn't recommend drinking more than 2 ;) Prices are great too- especially happy hour drink prices! read more

The Best Mexican Style Restaurant Ive Seen So Far When I came in, the Lady in the front asked me how many people, and told her. Then we went to take our seat very quickly and we hot two bowls of Nacho's along with 4 small bowls of salsa. Then our waiter took down our drinks, very politely, and came back under a minute with them. Then he told us the specialties, we kindly declined. He didn't continue bragging about them and instead asked us what we'll like to eat. I ordered the burrito. The food came extremely quick. Under 5 minutes. The food was delicious. I noticed my cup was almost out of soda, I was about to ask for a refill but the waiter came and took the cup without me asking. I love it. I definitely recommend this restaurant. read more

Typical, unspectacular Tex-Mex fare. I got the beef quesadillas, which kick-started a week-long quesadilla craving and obsession. I'd go back just to get that again even though it was just a normal quesadilla. But you can never go wrong with those! (Shame on the place that would mess those up.) It took my brother and me a while to be seated because both people in the front were busy with something else. Understandable though so I won't hold that against them. All I want to say about this restaurant is good things. I used to come here all the time when I lived in the area but moved to Houston about 2 years ago. I came here the day after my 25th bday. Their beef fajitas are the best hangover cure. I'm currently sitting at the bar. I ordered a margarita and received it immediately. When I put in my food order (beef fajitas for 2 - don't judge me) I received them in less than 2 minutes. Let me repeat that. I RECEIVED MY CORRECT FOOD ORDER IN LESS THAN 2 MINUTES! I don't believe that I've ever had that happen anywhere except chick-fil-a. The beef fajitas here are amazing, and I wasn't let down after not coming here for 2 years. I love this place. My in-laws live nearby and we always come when we visit. We're from DFW and there is plenty of great Tex-Mex up here, but Mi Rancho is by far my favorite. ZERO stars!!!!!! This was the worst experience I have ever had at this restaurant! I've been here multiple times and it has NEVER been this bad. The server was very inattentive. I hate to play the racial card but I have too this time because it was so obvious. Everyone around us was being served and attended to as usual. Us on the other hand, had to ask who our server was, when he came to the table he only asked what we wanted. Once we received our appetizer, the queso was very watery so we sent it back. He states, that's how it's always made. I had to tell him, that I was telling him I don't want it. The manager happened to walk by and we requested another and the second was a little better. However the service was still awful. The food came out luke warm and the margarita was watery as well! By this time we were over it. We left no tip. I asked for a manager as we were walking out and I felt awkward because I'm usually one that doesn't complain. I couldn't overlook this. I told the manager how terrible everything was and all he said was I would talk to him! I was floored! I told him we did not leave a tip and would never be back! This location has really gone down. We went Sunday, after church for lunch. The salsa was good, we didn't wait long to be seated. We ordered off of the lunch menu, my husband got a chicken soup and I go the crispy tacos. The taco shells were fantastic but the ground beef tasted boiled and was not very good. My husband did love his soup. The beans and rice were very good. I was really disappointed after coming in on Sunday after reading the reviews this place had. The food was okay, nothing too special. I did not like the rice and found the beans to be pretty watery. My Tamales were about average but found this long tough string thing in it (it wasn't hair, I'm not sure what it was). They're not the best at hospitality. The waiter came to get our drink order and as my boyfriend was looking at the drinks and placing his order the waiter just walked away and brought water, which is totally fine but i felt it was rude that he didn't even have the patience to allow us to order. Wasn't a huge fan of the queso or the salsa. The staff wasn't very attentive at all also. I felt very rushed. I've lived in spring for years and have passed mi Rancho many times as i used kuykendahl as a shortcut to the woodlands but never stopped in to tey until recently. My husband and i went on a Saturday night and the resturant was crowded but we were seated promptly and received our drinks in less than 5minutes of us parking. The food is amazing and you get it super fast! The dining room is very open, and there are several overhead tv's accenting the texan and Mexican cultural decorations. I was so very disappointed. We go to this restaurant EVERY Friday night. For my daughter's 16 th bday and my husband's bday we went to celebrate. We got no song, no birthday anything even though I told both the bus boy AND THE WAITER. Then, I told the manager and his response was,"oh well." Really? I got the chicken fajitas for one. I can say that the portion sizes were great. Fajitas for one could have easily fed two. The only thing is that they weren't flavorful. They looked like they had seasoning so I was excited at first. Only to take my first bite and taste NOTHING. Great for the price, but I would have rather have a smaller portion but great flavors. It was just dry and plain. My husband got the enchiladas and said they were good. Service was great. Had to re ask for things a few times but that's to be expected with a big party. Service: 5 stars Flavors: 2 stars Portion size and price: 5 stars Only other complaint is the party room smelled like the inside of a dirty bathroom. This place was surprisingly good. The atmosphere was lively and a good feel, Astros game was on and there were a lot of happy customers. I ordered the Mucho platter..cheese enchiladas were awesome and this place is now my go to place to get my cheese enchiladas fix. Rice was good but the refried and charro beans lacked something that I couldn't put my finger on... bacon? Salt? I dunno but they are so close to some great frijoles. I also was not a fan of their ground beef crunchy taco, I think they fixed my plate and it sat for a bit because when I got my plate one side of my crunchy taco was completely soaked in juices from the beef and made my crunchy taco not so crunchy. The salsa that came with the chips was warm and by far the best salsa I've tasted at any mexican restaurant, it reminded me of the salsa my grandpa used to make in the Rio Grande Valley. Despite their not so good beans and soggy crunchy taco id still recommend this place if you're craving mexican food. read more
