Good sandwiches. That's all I got. Pretty big. Easily could've shared one among two people.

    Pernil, arroz, maduros

The alcapurria was a -1! Horrible and Im puerto rican- flavor less.. when I tell you I took a bite and spit it back out that is exactly what I did. I also ordered arroz con habichuelas, pernil and maduros-they were ok but not for $11.99. I would not be going again. Its ashame because their restaurant name makes it feel like you are going to eat authentic PR food and it was not the case. And sorry I did not take picture of alcapurria.

I love Latin food, so trying out this spot was definitely something I was excited for. The first thing to note is that the location is a pretty sudden turn on East Colonial so if it's your first time going, make sure that you drive slowly and make sure you don't miss the turn! Immediately we were greeted and seated which was a plus for me. The music selection was fitting and very atmospheric and positively affected my eating experience Our waitress was attentive and was ready to take our order from the jump. As far as the food, I ordered the mofongo de amarillo and racion de tequeños for the appetizers, and the bistec empanizado and bistec encebollado. The mofongo de amarillo was interesting in the fact that I wasn't too crazy about the taste alone but once the broth was added, it made the dish objectively better as more flavors were able to shine through. They weren't the sweetest plantains I've ever consumed, but I think that worked in their favor as they were able to take a backseat and mix with the flavor profile of the broth. I will note that the portioning was small for this dish but I didn't mind because of how dense mofongo can be. My only complaint with this dish was the issue of there being some incredibly hard matter inside of the dish. I couldn't tell what it was because my teeth couldn't even break it down to eat. The dish wasn't littered with this though, so the affect on the eating experience was minor. Starting with the racion de tequeños, this is how you do an appetizer. appearance-wise I was pleasantly surprised because it looks like it was fried in house and the coloring was very even. The cheese was also very fresh, I could tell by pulling it that it wasn't that regular frozen cheese. I will say though, at $8, I personally would have expected more than 4 tequeños. My biggest gripe would have to be the amount of time it took for our appetizers to reach the table, especially considering how small both of the portions were. With that all being said, taste wise, the tequeños were my favorite thing i ordered. The bistec empanizado was an entree that I feel as though i did not utilize to its fullest potential. Being a breaded sirloin, it had a great texture and mouthfeel. While not being overly seasoned, it had a fair amount of pepper which made it stand out when paired with the yellow rice. I think if I had ordered the plantains on the side it would have elevated the dish more. Even so, it was tasty and filling enough that I was able to finish my plate and be satisfied. While the bistec empanizado was good, I found the bistec encebollado to be tastier, more flavorful, and an overall better entree. While also being a thin cut of meat, The flavors were bolder and the caramelized onions helped to boost the profile of the steak. I reccomend to get plantains as a side with either of the entrees because I think the sweetness of the plantains works better than the fries and salad and also creates a more authentic dish. Overall, Viejo de San Juan is a nice spot to grab a meal that bolsters not only authentic food, but also an extremely affordable price tag. The racion de tequeños stood out as one of the best appetizers I've had in recent memory, but both of my entrees fell to the wayside compared to other beed based dishes I've consumed. While still an overall pleasent experience, There was nothing that convinced me that a second visit was needed. Even so, if you want a full course Latin meal on a budget, this is still a viable option.

Bistec with onions, sweet plantains, rice and black beans

Good Puerto Rican spot that's still in it's undiscovered phase! I say undiscovered since it's not as popular yet, however due to its small seating area, it is always busy haha. I came in here for lunch one day and was pleasantly surprised. Parking was tight due to it being a small but busy location. They have a small parking lot, which was full, and so I had to park on the grass in front of it, which was thankfully ok since there was no rain :) . Indoors was a cozy environment and they even had live music when I was there! I ordered the bistec with onions entree, which came with a side of rice, black beans, and maduros (sweet plantains). The white rice was fresh and complemented the flavorful black beans very well. I also enjoyed the sweet plantains too. The bistec was good, however it was a little overcooked past well done and thus drier than I had hoped. The service was fast, and the staff was very friendly. I may not order the bistec next time, but I will probably be back here again at some point soon!

I must start off by saying this is my favorite restaurant in Orlando. I must also say that I haven't eaten at many restaurants in Orlando. So anyway, I've been going to this delightful Boricua establishment for a few years now and I only order one meal because it is so good that I don't even care to try anything else. I started going with my cousin when he would come visit and it's become somewhat of a tradition of ours. We always order the Mofongo with the bistec encebollado. The steak is seasoned and cooked to perfection and I love how you don't even have to tell them to throw tons of onions on top. The mofongo is easily the softest, melt-in-your-mouth-like-butter style that I've ever had. It comes with a little side cup of a clear broth which I have no idea what it is but works. I also order jugo de parcha (passion fruit) to wash down all this deliciousness and it makes for an incredible meal. The last time I visited I brought my lady so she could experience the awesomeness that I've been telling her about for a while.m. She loved it as well and I'm glad she ordered a different meal because I was able to try something new. And guess what? It was also really good! She ordered the arroz con gandules with pernil. The rice was flavorful (not the best but it was good) and the pernil was soft and packed with flavor. I really enjoy coming here because it's never super packed, it's a cute restaurant, and has great food. They even have live Latin music once in a while! The only thing I don't like is the parking situation. There's only a limited number of parking spaces in front of the restaurant and it's extremely tight. Sometimes you have to take the good with the bad. Hasta pronto, mi viejo San Juan!

Not memorable but it gets the job done. Flavors are pretty well defined, yet quality is not tops. I may sound harsh, but I was not totally satisfied. Then again... go judge it yourself. I got chicken chunks with rice/beans and some plantains. It was all good, yet not amazing. On the other hand, the staff is friendly here and they aim to please, and other patrons are also friendly, particularly that lady that said the food here was "cuisine". I have never laughed so hard. Tip: bring an English/Spanish dictionary.

Friendly service and good food. I got the cubano and cafe con leche. They offer complimentary brown sugar, Splenda, and regular sugar in addition to the standard salt & pepper. Wow!

Once we found out they had a restaurant, we knew we had to check it out. The restaurant itself is beautiful inside with great vibes and a nice atmosphere. Our first visit was mostly good, but I would not recommend the tripleta. All you taste is the burnt tortilla, and it wasn't like a typical tripleta sandwich. The second time we went was for a graduation celebration, and sadly most of the food was a miss. The grilled chicken and sauces were especially disappointing--expensive, bland, and not something I'd order again. The drinks were also disappointing and tasted more like sugary syrup than actual cocktails or fresh drinks. We chalked it up to maybe being an off day. That being said, we also ordered catering for the graduation before the unfortunate dinner, and the catering was amazing. We ordered pernil, leg porchetta, arroz con gandules, and roasted whole chicken. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and well done with no complaints at all. I just wish the dine-in experience matched the catering and food truck experience better. Overall, I would still recommend Crocante because when they're good, they're really good. The service was okay, nothing special, but not bad either. The space is beautiful, the vibes are great, and some items are definitely worth trying.

They do have a little canopy area with tables and seating, but it's so hot to be outside I opted to wait and eat in my car. We waited about 30 minutes before receiving our food and once we received it you could tell everything was freshly made. We ordered a combo that came with 2 pinchos, 2 pieces of bread, 2 orders of loaded fries,2 mofongo balls. And 2 drinks. The pincho meat is big meaty chunks and well seasoned. These were some of the biggest pinchos I've found in Orlando and the price was really reasonable. The loaded fries were ok, just typical fries with bacon and cheese. These mofongo balls had good seasoning, they weren't dry at all, and the perfect portion. The garlic bread was good as well and was soft. Overall everything was great! The seasoning on all the food was perfect, the portions were more than enough, and the prices extremely reasonable. The only negative I have to say is that it took long for us to receive the food but everything was freshly made and I appreciate all the hard work they do during the extremely hot fl summer.

Upon entering this restaurant I knew that the food was going to be great, because it smelled so good! This restaurant is severed cafeteria style, where you go down the line with different dishes of prepared food on display before you, behind protective glass. A team member on the other side with the food, assists you be gathering together what you point to, as you go down the line. Then they put the food that you pick out into a "to go" container. At the end of the line, you pay for your food at the cash register. Just to make a sure you are aware, a tip is automatically added onto your check when you get to the register. This caught my friend by surprise, because she wasn't aware the tip was included in the receipt until it was too late, and she already paid. You are asked if you want a beverage with your order at the register. You can request a cup of tap water with a lid at this point, but if you don't specify that you want tap water, they may automatically charge you for a bottle of water.
