I'm so glad I discovered this neighborhood spot for some authentic Italian comfort food. My family and I loved our experience here, and would come back in a heart beat. The portions are very very generous so come hungry! I can't recommend the braised beef tortellini enough. It's creamy, savory, tender, and bursting with flavor. I loved the Brussels sprout salad as well, it's very light and fresh. I visited Mia Sorella on a Saturday evening with a friend, and we were seated right away. We were slightly concerned that we might've been underdressed as we had just finished hiking but fortunately, the restaurant was casual enough to not react. I had my sights set on excessively indulging in carbs, and there was plenty of that on the menu. The server was attentive in making sure our water cups were filled and complimentary bread was on the table. I ordered the Spaghetti Di Mare (with white sauce instead). It had shrimp, clams, mussels, and calamari with extra virgin olive oil, garlic, basil, and red chili. It was served at the perfect temperature. I enjoyed the variety of seafood and abundance of sauce. The spaghetti was cooked al dente. The dish was a bit bland and needed more salt. The toasted ravioli are some of the best in St. Louis. Their food is delicious and although I'm not Italian, feels authentic. Friendly bar area. Appears to be crowded most nights. The noise level is a little on the high side, but very manageable and still easy to carry on conversations. Definitely on the list of one of my favorite restaurants. read more

We used to go to Mia Sorella quite a bit but have stopped going because our food were never consistent. We thought after several years of not going that we should try it again. As usual same disappointment. We dined here tonight and ordered lasagna, spaghetti and meatballs, cannelloni & chicken parmesan. Meatballs in the spaghetti were cold and we mentioned it to our waiter, Richard, and his response was he could pour hot red sauce over it. Unbelievable! The lasagna had white chunks which I thought were cauliflower but when I tried picking it out, it was chunks of white parmesan cheese that formed into a ball that never melted but yet sides of the top of the pasta were burned to a crisp! Mia Sorella is some of the best food outside of the city in the county. Hands down best Toasted ravioli in the state. I do not say that lightly. Fish specials are always excellent. I almost always order it! I'm obsessed with the Brussel sprout salad. The Mista salad also great! I recommend the eggplant Parmesan as well. Their San Marzano tomato Sauce is so good I could drink it. They have a thoughtfully curated wine list and a creative drink menu. The pizza is very good. They do a nice happy hour menu. The service is great. The staff is friendly and professional. We love Janet and Vic behind the bar. We look forward to seeing them every time. read more

Great atmosphere. The panini wasn't as I expected; was thinking it would be more of a grilled pressed sandwich but it wasn't that of a traditional panini sandwich. I think the sandwich needed more of the toppings inside of it to make it fuller, too. The truffle fries were good, but expected a little more truffle and flavor to them. Hands down my favorite Italian food in STL. The house-made toasted raviolis are incredible. The tortellini with pink sauce was to die for! Absolutely awesome place. The service was interesting. Our waitress knew the menu and was incredibly confident in what she liked, however her professionalism was a bit lacking. I didn't ruin the meal by any means. The ambiance is a low-key Italian bar/restaurant. We have yet to find Italian food that's better, especially those toasted raviolis. read more

Went here with another couple who frequent this place a lot. They raved about the "red sauce" saying it was the "best ever". I'm Italian and can cook, I've made Italian Sunday Gravy 100 times, so I was "skeptical" of such a strong review, but was willing to give it a shot. Couple of preliminary thoughts, I do not like restaurants that refuse to take reservations. It seems like that approach says, "we don't care about you having to wait, please buy our overpriced alcohol while we 10 minute you to death". Anyway, we were finally seated after about 20 minutes. I ordered their Sunday Gravy Pasta with meat. It was good, not great and not worth the wait. So I'll check this off as just another meh Italian restaurant in St. Louis. read more

While visiting my in-laws in Wildwood, I was craving a good Italian dinner and didn't want to drive all the way to the Hill. We choose Mia Sorella based on the positive Yelp reviews. The space is nice, but a little loud, and the service was excellent! The staff must be trained to refer to guests as "friends". It's a nice touch. The menu offers a good variety of rustic, simple Italian dishes. The wines by the glass offering were good and affordable. All food and drink were delivered promptly and at the right temperature. The bread came first. It was just ok. It was served with butter but I would have liked an olive oil option. We split the Caesar Salad which was described as having an anchovy lemon dressing. The lemon was undetectable and the salad and croutons were below average. My wife ordered the Chicken Caprino without goat cheese and I ordered the spaghetti with meatballs. The Chicken had nice flavor but, like the salad, the lemon was undetectable and the sauce, while having good flavor, seemed to be Italian salad dressing. The chicken was a little dry. The spaghetti was cooked nicely and the sauce was ok. A little sweet for me. The meatballs were the star of the dish. I am very picky when it comes to meatballs and these were great! I only wish they were cooked in the sauce to add more flavor and depth to the sauce. All in all, it was an ok meal, at a fair price, with excellent service. Showed up here on a Saturday with a party of 6 with no reservation a little after 4. We were sat pretty soon there after. The service was good. Our waitress was nice and prompts to take our drink order. The food was ok. Everything was warm but it was much less authentic Italian that I wanted at the time. We have been coming to this restaurant for years. The service and food has typically been very good. Until last night. Something changed for the worse. When we were seated, we were told that bread would be delivered. We never received it. We ordered the specials and waited slightly over an hour for our food. People who sat down right before us and after finished, paid and left the restaurant before we were served. When the food arrived my fish was hot but vegetables and potatoes were cold. My wife's pasta special was bland at best. We couldn't finish. Our server apologized but it wasn't sincere and seemed obligatory. Absolutely one of the best Italian restaurants we've ever been to. We ordered the toasted ravioli for an appetizer. For entrées, my daughter had the fettuccine Alfredo, I had the spaghetti and meatballs, and my mother had the chicken Soto. It was the best food we've ever had. Everything is absolutely homemade the service was fantastic never had to ask or want for anything. You can see into the kitchen and it's impeccably clean.
